Vacations in St Lucia

My stay at the hotel was very pleasant, the service was excellent, Kurdisha in Hideaway bar, Antonio sport bar were the best and Martini bar staff, The sunsets on the beach are fabulous, my friends were fascinated with all the service and food, The gift shop was amazing, the staff was very friendly and helpful, I would definitely return to St. Lucia.

A smile goes a long way

While the room was lovely it was never cool. No matter how many times they sent someone to look at it. So the ceiling fans stayed on continuously....their way of saying it's fixed. This made no sense what do ever because the bedroom stayed cool while the living room was just warm.
The butler service was phenomenal. They made reservations to the restaurants for us and made sure we had every amenity afforded to us. They really catered to our every dream.
As for the food it was a hit and miss. The service from some of the staff was very disappointing. They acted as if they were doing a favor by serving you. You constantly had to flag someone down to just get water. A simple smile goes a long way. Most of them scowled and looked right thru or pass you.
The room service menu was a joke. While the resort has potential I feel there aren't enough people present to provide the experience we look for as vacationers.
Oh did I mention the lighting of the breezeway. That's because it was non existent. By day 6 it was finally fixed after my constant complaining.

Amazing!

We are here and leave today and we have had an amazing time. The room was fabulous (only thing that was a slight problem was restocking water, tea, coffee and milk in the room- I had to ask for it to be replenished as it wasn’t automatic).
We loved the Buffett and all staff were lovely. We tried calypso and Italian on our wedding anniversary and they gave us a celebration cake and balloons.
The cafe was good for a proper coffee, cake and ice cream and the food van was also fab. The staff in cafe weren’t so happy and friendly as the buffet staff but it was still sufficient.
Front desk staff were mixed with some being lovely others were a bit grumpy but still didn’t affect the way we feel about our stay.
Loved the entertainment by the pool and in the evening. We like the music playing all day and the vibe team make it such fun. The music is at the chills pool so if you don’t like it there is the dip pool which is quieter.
It’s a glorious beach and view. Plenty of beds, sun beds and towels and a jacuzzi.
Big shout out to Simon the guy who goes between the restaurants making sure every one is happy. Porsche in the buffet and Elbert the chef are awesome. We also loved the guy from vibe team who sings karaoke Ed Sheeran and heads up the evening entertainment as well as the guy who mans the music hut at the chills pool.
We went horse riding as an excursion TWICE it was so good. You ride your horse in the sea!
We don’t want to go home and will be back! Yes there’s a few bits that were not 100% but it’s one of the best holidays we have had!

The perfect honeymoon for us!

We have just returned from our 2 week honeymoon in this stunning hotel.

After reading mixed reviews (the same as anywhere) we were so glad when we arrived and realised how fantastic of a hotel it is! From start to finish we were well and truly looked after by all members of their incredible staff. As soon as we stepped out of the taxi and checked in, we were then introduced to the legend that is Elijah. He insisted on taking our bags for us and escorting us to our room, showing us around parts of the hotel as we went. This was a lovely introduction to the resort but also incredibly helpful as he told us how the restaurants work etc.

He then took us to our lovely room (4103) which was perfect for us. It was incredibly spacious and had a huge comfortable bed and a jacuzzi bath. The sea view was limited but that was no issue for us.

The range of restaurants was amazing, all having a large array of items on each menu and all being very different. Our favourite speciality restaurant was Calypso. With that said, the buffet was brilliant and we’d have been happy if the hotel only had that as a dining option. The range for both breakfast and dinner was superb, and apart from obvious things like bacon/eggs etc, they managed to change it up each day to give us variety. The service in all restaurants including the buffet was great too.

The hotel has lovely pools and is situated right on the beach. There were lots of sunbeds available at all locations and it just made daily living there nice and easy and relaxed. The drink selection at the bars was pretty good. We don’t really drink but we did notice branded spirits available at all bars. I particularly liked the ‘Max and Ruby’ mocktails!

If you like swimming and snorkelling, the beach is great. The water is calm and warm and there’s loads of colourful fish to see.

All in all we had a fantastic trip, it was the honeymoon we wanted that’s for sure! That is largely down to the staff who were just such great people and took care of us beyond belief.

We would absolutely recommend this resort!!

Royalton Saint Lucia, An Autograph Collection.

I planned a birthday trip to Saint Lucia for my wife’s birthday. I booked Royalton Saint Lucia because I had such an amazing experience at the Royalton CHIC in Cancun this past summer. The resort was beautiful overall, but the hospitality was horrible. The staff was not very welcoming and seemed consistently upset. On the second day of our trip, our power went out in the room. I contacted the front desk, and we waited about an hour for someone to come. We were told that the circuit breaker had tripped, which was an easy fix. On day three, we were told that the water was shut off. After a few hours, the water was restored, but we did not have hot water for the rest of the day. Also, we encountered many bugs in our room, and it seemed my wife and I had to kill bugs throughout the day whenever we were in the room. On the morning of our departure, I asked the front desk for extra toilet paper, but nothing was done. Four hours later, no one had come. The restaurants were always fully booked. We were lucky to get two dinner reservations during the entire trip. The food at the buffet was not very good, but the room service was excellent. The excursions, however, were really nice. Again, the service I experienced at the Royalton CHIC Cancun was fantastic, and I was very disappointed with the service I received at the Royalton Saint Lucia.

The honeymoon of waiting.

We were so excited to visit this resort—until we stepped foot in. We are given our room & as soon as we open the door, 2 naked men. No apologizes. Next room…2 queen beds. We requested a king suite. Finally our third room is correct, though they inform us we only got it due to other guest not making it that day.

New bath towels? Forget about it.
Island time…no rush for anything.
We waited 2 hours to receive towels & the front desk stopped answering our calls.
They sent the mini-bar instead. We don’t drink.
If we did, we wouldn’t be “as patient.”

Need to talk to a manager? They aren’t in normal business hours. Or they just hide because they already know their service is not up to par.

Marriott should cut ties because you expect one thing & get something completely different. Also, good luck trying to enjoy quiet beach time—it’s a public beach. Meaning any rando can come up to you trying to get you to buy their activity packages…and they don’t stop asking—the entire trip.

Marriott status doesn’t exist here. Go somewhere you are valued.
K. Time for some fresh air & LOUD music.

Great family resort for a fun and relaxing holiday- a few improvements would make a huge difference

We have just spent 9 nights at the Royalton and had a great family holiday. We found all the staff we encountered to be friendly and made our 3 year old feel very welcome. The kids club staff were great and my son really enjoyed playing air hockey and playing with construction vehicles.

Having seen some of the reviews this was a pleasant surprise to me, we were friendly and polite and received the same back and more from the staff.

We had some great meals- Zen, Calypso and Grazie were our favourites, only the Tex Mex was not to our tastes.

The setting is beautiful, the beach and pools are lovely and the grounds are kept beautiful with plenty of flowers and wildlife to look at.

For us some basic issues meant we found the standard of the hotel to be lower than the Punta Cana Royalton. The plug in our spa bath was broken and not fixed despite maintenance checking it out following a call. Our in room safe didn’t work however maintenance swapped it the next day. The sofa bed was not made up for my son when we arrived but housekeeping arrived within the hour of calling to sort this out. Our room smelled of damp and this remained throughout the stay despite guest services asking it to be refreshed for us. Some evening entertainment was cancelled at short notice and there wasn’t much availability at the restaurants (however we did manage to book most nights).

The above did not impact on our holiday- St Lucia is a beautiful island and we still had a wonderful time in the resort.

I would never stay again .

The staff is not accommodating or welcoming . The bars ran out of tequila several times . I was on the 5th floor and the elevator stopped working for 12 hours . I had to walk up and down 5 flight of stairs after I went to the spa . I asked for a different room on the 1st floor . I was told I could not have a room on a lower floor because I didn’t pay for a lower level . I went to a presentation for thier travel club and because I was not interested the staff started being aggressive and rude .

I love the Royalton

Royalton at St. Lucia has been nothing short of AMAZING. The staff and workers have been very helpful. I had the pleasure of meeting Kayson and Nikita as my butlers and they have accommodated my every need. I even had the pleasure of meeting Samanfer who gave us the best entertainment at the hideaway and chills pool. If you ever go to St. Lucia I suggest staying at the Royalton. Suzanna welcomed me with champagne every morning in the hideaway lobby. Gizia and Anastacie treated me like a queen at the Aquarius bar. I met some amazing bartenders at the Hideaway pool bar . Ask for Steven, Jonny, or Rena. Tell
Them Kayla from Lousiana sent you.

Average at Best

We checked into the Diamond Lounge at 2:00. They seemed put off that we were there an hour before checkin. No welcome drink or smiles really. There is a bar in the lounge, however, we had to ask permission on whether we were able to have a drink while we waited for our room. They unloaded our bags from the car and our butler told us to go have a meal at the pool grill. When we returned, to our surprise, our bags weren't even taken inside, just left sitting unattended out front of the checkin lounge.

Room: We stayed in the chairman 2 bedroom suite. The room was very nice and had a great view. A couple small things like the pool sticks were broken and the pool table but was missing one of its pockets, but they were able to fix it by the next morning.

Food: Food was good enough for an all inclusive. Biggest problem was being told we are out of that probably 10 times during our stay. Menus are already pretty small at these restaurants, so being out just makes the menu smaller. This was more of a problem on Wednesday and Thursday. It was a bit better on the weekend.

Butler: This was good and bad. Our main butler was very attentive and nice, as well as his backup after he left. He informed us on Thursday that he is off on Fridays. He also stated that his backup would be taking a much earned vacation. Come Friday, 3 of our 4 requests went unanswered. We asked for a bucket of beer at the beach that never came. That night we asked for some apples and bananas to the room. They also never came. I just went and got the items myself. The same problem occurred on Saturday morning until our butler arrived around 11:30. For the price of butler service at this resort, this was a big disappointment, considering a day and a half of no service was almost half of our stay. Our butler was again great once he returned mid day on Saturday. I brought this to the attention of a supervisor in the Diamond lounge once on Friday and again on Saturday morning. They did not seem to care much. They told me someone would reach out but they never did.

Grounds: The view was great. The beaches and pools were nice. Public bathrooms around the property need a lot of work. Multiple door handles falling off, or door jams that don't even keep the door closed. I took my young son in the same bathroom everyday near where we were and the only "stall", someone had locked the door and shut it. So I just lifted him up to use the urinal.

Housekeeping: Housekeepers were great. Always made sure we had towels and made the beds. They offered evening turndown every night, but we declined.

Overall, we had a nice time, however, we would not return given the price we paid. I wish we had just booked the cheapest room there and skipped the diamond club and butler service.

We will be back!

My friend and I had an incredible time at the Royalton! We’ll definitely be coming back. Every staff member was so friendly and always took the time to ask how our day was going. The Vibe Team made our entire week unforgettable with their amazing entertainment and warm smiles. The food was also outstanding, the buffet offered endless delicious options, Grazie was fantastic, and the brisket from both the Steakhouse and Tex Mex was honestly the best I’ve ever had.

A special shoutout to Shane and Chiris for always checking in and taking the time to get to know us, and a huge thank-you to Zachary for going above and beyond to make our trip truly unforgettable.

A Stunning Disappointment That Does Not Reflect Marriott Standards

As a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite member, I have stayed at many Marriott properties around the world. I have never experienced anything close to what occurred at Royalton Saint Lucia. This was, without exaggeration, the single worst stay I have had at any Marriott property.

Arrival: Disorganized and Stressful
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this resort is poorly managed. There was no greeting, no assistance, and no direction. After standing in line with luggage and a tired infant, we were finally placed on a cart, only to be told that we needed to get off because the Diamond Club guest had to be transported first. We were left standing with our baby in the heat after a long travel day. It was a stressful and embarrassing start to what was supposed to be a relaxing family vacation.

Room Conditions: Unsafe and Unsanitary
Things only worsened after check-in. The elevator in our building was broken. When we attempted to bathe our baby, the faucet released brown, dirt-filled water that turned the tub completely murky. It was unsafe and unacceptable. The blackout shades were broken, so sunlight entered the room at sunrise, preventing any rest. In addition, extremely loud music from outside continued late into the night, making it impossible for our baby to sleep despite closed doors and white noise.

Service and Amenities: Poor and Inconsistent
Although this resort advertises itself as a luxury all-inclusive experience, the service was disorganized and inattentive. “All-inclusive” appeared to apply only to tap water. When we requested complimentary bottled water, it took four phone calls and one hour and forty-five minutes for it to arrive for our child. Dinner service was painfully slow, and the food quality was some of the worst I have ever experienced at a hotel. There were no towels available at any of the pool areas. While the staff members were generally pleasant and kind, they appeared overwhelmed, understaffed, and confused.

A Clear Misrepresentation of the Autograph Collection Brand
Autograph Collection hotels are intended to provide unique character, comfort, and consistent quality. This resort fails on all three. It does not reflect Marriott’s training, service, or brand standards. It felt like an entirely separate operation that simply uses the Marriott name without maintaining the quality that guests expect. I have numerous videos to add to this review, but unfortunately I cannot include them due to their size.

Forced to Leave
After only one night, we made the difficult decision to leave and relocate to another property. We did this with an infant, which speaks volumes about how intolerable the experience was.

Final Thoughts
If you are looking for a true Marriott or Autograph Collection experience, do NOT book this resort. There are many other beautiful and well-managed properties in Saint Lucia where guests are treated with care and respectful accomodations.

We left deeply disappointed and exhausted. It is astonishing that Marriott allows its name to be associated with this property.

One star only because zero is not an option.

Disappointing and would not return..

I just start off by saying we don't often moan or complain but feel we need to provide an honest review with the hope some changes are made by the management team.
The scenery certainly makes up for some of it but this ‘luxury’ hotel is definitely missing a trick or ten!
We arrived after a very long day, more than 12 hours of travelling to a very slow and painful check-in procedure. We don't understand why it has to be slow because surely our details are all on file. At a guess, I would say nearly an hour to check in! We were actually shocked there was no welcome drink upon arrival (these little things certainly go a long way). We got to our room to find not one of our keys to work so we all had to walk back - very tired and hungry. Reception assured us the issue was now resolved but we trekked back to our room to find two out of three keys now worked. Not a major issue as we could at least get in our room but still. We noticed the mini fridge was empty and just wanted a cold water. It seems such an impossible task to get drinking water! We had to request three times for some water to be put in our room. The pool bars don't open until 10am, most of the time they rock up gone 10.30am. We had been awake since 2.30am trying to get used to the time difference. We still had issues finding water. I cannot believe a hotel this size and apparently ‘luxury’ does not have water freely available for guests and you have to literally beg several times before you get a couple of small bottles put in your room! We ended up buying water from the on-site shop to ensure we had enough - $12 for 3 small waters! We were happy drinking the filtered water from the bars but wanted our son to remain on bottled water because in day 2 he was violently sick all day and couldn't keep anything down, not even a mouthful of water. We think the day of travel, not much water offered in the flight, no drink on arrival at the hotel, no water in the room and then the struggle of sourcing drinking water on our first day all led to him suffering from dehydration.
We did pop to the medical care on-site which was very helpful and friendly but we can't say the same about quite a few staff. They appeared rude, rather disinterested, unhappy and just not wanting to be there (almost like we were putting them out yet we were always friendly and overly polite to everyone).
The locks on several of the toilets were broken, meaning people would often walk in on you whilst you were using the toilet which is not ideal. We cannot get over the one tiny hand soap that is in your room and no hand soap in a dispenser. We had to grab someone in the corridor to get another bar of soap as this wasn't replaced. Apart from that, the room was kept clean which we really appreciated but we were disappointed with other people leaving food outside their rooms which wasn't collected until then next day which attracted ants and cockroaches right outside your door!
I can't comment on the entertainment as we didn't make it (I think coming from the UK and the time difference, with only being here for the week, we struggled to settle so we were in bed early every night and wake ridiculously early every morning but that has nothing to do with the hotel itself).
The restaurants were very hard to book on the app and you have to go at 7am to try to see if they can squeeze you in anywhere that night but you walk past the restaurants and most of them are dead! The sports bar, even though it was really quiet, we had been seated in the dark far corner and the staff were not friendly or welcoming. The coffee shop was probably our favourite and the staff did seem pleasant. Calypso, staff were rude and food was average. Armadillo, again rude staff and food was way below standard. Zen, the Japanese restaurant was fab and the chef was really funny which made our evening. Hunter, the steak restaurant - not sure where to start! We had a party of 14 in and watching their meals come out was painful. To cut a long story short - it took 2 hours for our main courses to arrive! The buffet was average and nothing really to say as it was rather underwhelming but I did notice the grill chef using the same set of tongs to pick up the raw chicken and continued using the same tongs to turn the chicken once it was cooking. Thankfully he did use different spatular to move the cooked chicken from the grill to the plate otherwise we would not have accepted it but we were concerned about the risk over cross-contamination so did not return to the buffet for any grill meats after our first night.
We loved how quiet it was, no issues getting sun loungers at all but we did notice a lot of the sunbed cushions had stains on them or covered in bird poo which was a little off putting. This is far from a luxury 5 star hotel - we would honestly suggest paying a bit more and trying somewhere else. We would not return to a Royalton again unfortunately. That being said, we still had a wonderful holiday and felt very relaxed. We could have complained about so much, but what's the point as it ruins your holiday. We would return to Saint Lucia, just not this hotel.

So disappoint

Guests playing their own music at the pool. No body wants to hear that. Destroyed all ambiance and staff did nothing. So disappointed with a great holiday brand.

Waste of money, terrible service.

If you want to bleed your money stay here.
Total waste of money. Food finishes at 745pm when buffet runs til 10pm. They don't stock menu items, rudest staff ever- service includes eye rolling and massive fits of the body from servers for free- hey man it's all inclusive!
Diamond club looks like a dungeon, nothing diamond about it. We splurged for butler service as this trip was for milestone birthdays for my husband and father in law. But so unnecessay, as other resorts have staff that will do the same work and its included. They oversell and under deliver. Have fun trying to navigate yourself around butler service and getting things done and figuring out what's included. Waited days for pillows, lotions, hangers, ironing board . Broken tile in bathroom in centre of entrance to shower still not fixed and its day 5 of my trip.
Included water sports at the resort comes with a broken water bike and a sail boat with sails that are "down" with literally no reply as to when they will get fixed ( staff walked away mid question) 1. 5 hour drive turned into over 3 as it's festival month, which happens enroute to this place. It's a 2 lane roadway...delayed over 1 hour so people could turn into the festival location off the single lane roadway.
If you make a decision to come here by mistake, do not fly in on a Sunday in October. Our agent booked our tickets, and Nexus tours operates the airport transfer, we weren't on their list, despite the info being on our Westjet itinerary. Had to hotspot wifi, download the app pay $250 USD for return transfer only to be told the taxis were done for the night. Taxi was arranged eventually. We are supposed to get a refund thanks to our agent but can't until we are emailed a receipt...still waiting 5 days for this. Baggage pick up took 2 hours in the heat with 2 toilets ( this is the whole washroom size) serving 8 flights on 1 baggage carousel. There are better resorts, for WAY less of an investment choose wisely. Entertainment lacks creativity and shows are late for kids, seriously just watch tv or play a game on your phone..Do not fall for the Royalton hype here. Spoke to management and still waiting over 2.5 days , keep getting told we are working on a resolution...Will likely get swept under the rug like all other requests.
Bottom line- go elsewhere. I don't do reviews without speaking my concerns and giving a business a chance to fix an issue, as we are all humans, but the wait here is ridiculous, the regret and remorse are getting worse -we like everyone else work hard for our money. Go somewhere else.

you will be disappointed for what you pay

grounds are nice and clean nice rooms but I honestly can’t believe how bad my stay at the Royalton St. Lucia was. For a so-called luxury all-inclusive resort, the experience was beyond frustrating. The food situation was terrible — most restaurants had little to no food available, and by the time you finally got a table, half the menu was “unavailable.” It felt like they were constantly running out of everything!

The bars were just as bad. How can an all-inclusive resort not have basic drinks? They ran out of beer, rum, and even simple mixers multiple times during my stay. Every time I went to get a drink, it was either “we don’t have that” or “we’re out.” It’s ridiculous.

For the price we paid, I expected way better. The lack of food and drinks completely ruined what should’ve been a relaxing vacation. Royalton seriously needs to step up their game — this was hands down one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve ever had.

Diamond Club Scam – minimal Food, No premium Liquor & Zero Luxury

I rarely write negative reviews, but travelers need to be warned: Royalton Hideaway St. Lucia is NOT a luxury resort, and the Diamond Club experience is an absolute scam.

I paid for Diamond Club expecting premium service — instead, I

m
• Room smelled like mildew the entire stay + geckos crawling inside the room
• Elevator broken for days – unacceptable for a “luxury” property
• Diamond Club amenities not providing any type is premium alcohol, smirnoff being their top vodka
• Friday night: no chicken wings anywhere on property – staff simply said they were “out”
• Steakhouse required reservations, but when seated, they had NO ribeye — their signature item
• Zero access to movies in room, even though Diamond Club promises upgraded entertainment
additionally the buffet was dirty and had bugs sitting on fresh fruit as if they had been there for days.and no one doing anything to fix it

The service failures were constant. Staff were polite but clearly undertrained, overwhelmed, and unprepared to deliver what the resort advertises. What Royalton markets vs. what guests receive is false advertising, plain and simple.

I have stayed at many all-inclusive and Marriott Autograph Collection resorts — this was by far the worst value and most misleading experience. I’ve already escalated to Marriott corporate for compensation, because the Diamond Club services sold were not delivered. what the royalton offered was a offensive.

Save your money. Do NOT book Diamond Club. I would never stay at another Royalton property after this experience.

HELL of a trip!

Here is the trip summary (my cliff notes version):
Couldn’t be happier to be done with this trip! Stay was from 10/30 to 11/3.
Overall, it was 25% okay and 75% not worth the money we spent at all!
Resort sucked.
After 2-3hrs hours to the hotel; the only option to eat was buffet. Reservations app were hard to get so we’re eating at the buffet mostly til Saturday night at a wedding (at a separate resort) and the day before we left.
The second room reserved smelled like mold for the entire time (didn’t even use it) and on Sunday they were
Cleaning it and housekeeping said it smelled like mold (confirmed).
No credit accommodation from the hotel (Neil, Barrett) for the room.
Our main room even had issues as well (stained decorative pillows, dirty pull-out couch, spa tub had green grime, etc.
The hotel has bracelets as room keys when you go to check and they need all bracelet keys or pay 150.
They don’t give you the shuttle slips until they have all the keys or pay 150 and never told us this upon check-in in and I don’t think the travel agent knew this info.
