In love with Saint Lucia, better as OTHER ISLANDS

We fell in love with Saint Lucia, we saw so much of the local culture. Our preferate restaurant was Calypso since you can savor local food which is so tasty.

Will be back again on another time soon.

Beautiful resort but needs a shakeup

Upon arrival I was not offered a cold towel nor a drink. The check-in time seemed to be reasonable enough although I believe they did not provide me all the information they needed to about the resort. Its like they were trying to move on to the next arrival. It didn't take long to get my room. It was nice and clean and had everything that I expected it to have. I had the swim out junior suite which came in really handy having to make full use of the pool all throughout. The only downside was the entire power in the room at times would go out and would come back on seconds after ( don't know why ). I love the aesthetics of the resort which is amazing. Beautiful landscape well maintained. Thumbs up to the gardening team. The saddest part of the stay was not having the favorite drinks I would have loved to have as there was quite a shortage of basic items like slush to make cocktails. Very disappointed with that which seems to be a common problem at the resort. The staff would sing that management is well aware but nothing seems to be happening about it ( really????). It's a shame!!!. I went to several bars searching for bottle water but that was in vain ( really??? ). I dined at the calypso restaurant one time for dinner and the food was par. The room service options are very slim. The buffet restaurant however had great variety which was very accommodating. One time I requested some beers and had to call reception twice to follow up but still it never arrived. However Upon checkout this lovely soul I believe her name might be " Courteney " apologized and offered me some beers. Very sympathetic. It was a lovely stay and I will recommend the resort however management needs to do better because it's unacceptable to not have basic items at a resort especially of that Caliber. Just remember if the top is not stable you can almost expect what's below to be rocky!

I had an amazing vacation at the Royalton. My Butlers Monique and Nikita truly were the highlight of my trip. They made all my dinner reservations and booked my spa appointments. They constantly checked on me throughout the day . The staff is so friendly at The Hideaway. I will be back

Upgrade to diamond club.

We had a great time, Monique and Nikita were our butlers, gave us an incredible welcome for me and my wife’s honeymoon, and on some days we came back to our room spotless, and a bubble bath ready to go for us and a bottle of wine sitting next to it, got us a whole case of water when we needed a restock, replaced our hair dryer and steamer quickly and set us up a private dinner at the beach on our last day. Kadeesha/Vicky and Reena) (sorry if I spell the names wrong) at the hideaway bar were all incredibly attentive to keeping me and my wife’s drinks full, and even went and fetch ingredients when they were temporarily out. If you come here get the butler, it’s worth every cent, I will say, the food left a little bit to be desired, my personal experience at Hunter (steakhouse) was lack luster my food was not warm, my burger came out not as described on the menu and it took quite awhile to get our food. But the staff was still keeping our drinks full, dorado was the next lack luster experience for me, wife got the sea bass which was delicious, but my steak came out underdone, and the cut itself was not great, but again staff was still great and apologized for the inconvenience, armadillo was in my opinion the best of all the options, brisket was on the dry side but the sauce made up for it as it was great, apps there were awesome, and service was great, Grazie was our second favorite great food and service all around, try the anchovie pizza, did not get a chance to try calypso, but wish I knew some of the restaurants were open for breakfast, but the buffet is always solid for both breakfast and dinner, the diamond club bar food was great, didn’t spend much time over there as we were hideaway guests, but our great butlers brought over food from there from time to time and the coconut shrimp were my favorite. The grill trailer had some great options as well, like I said just get a butler and they really handle any problem you have, they are your advocate.

Stay somewhere else

The resort is gorgeous, landscaping was beautiful & the staff was very friendly; however, service was lacking big time! It would take 20 mins + to get a drink. More often than not, they wouldn’t have half of the ingredients to make a basic cocktail. We ordered room service & waited 2 hours for it but it never arrived! The resort was probably at a quarter capacity full. There was hardly anyone there. It shouldn’t take 2 hours or longer to get a wrap & pizza. One morning, we ordered breakfast. The dish was supposed to come with bacon so when our food came out & the bacon wasn’t on the plate we asked if they could bring it out. They said they would but they disappeared, never to be seen again. We were done with breakfast & still didn’t get it. The food truck took one ordered at a time. There was no proficiency whatsoever. Also, they were basically out of everything by 11:45 am! They never had the daily special either. We went to the Sports Bar another night at 6 pm thinking we would get burgers or wings…nope they literally only had salad. We asked if there would be more food coming? “Oh no, we’re out of burgers & chicken.” So, lettuce is the only thing you’ll have? “Yes!” Overall, a major disappointment. We will never come bank to this resort.

Beautiful Resort But Service and Amenities are Lacking

The resort itself is beautiful, with a stunning location and well-maintained grounds. However, even considering that it was the off-season, our overall experience was disappointing — especially given how much we spent. Basic services were lacking: we struggled to get water when needed (especially due to health concerns, I needed to stay hydrated), there was virtually no poolside service, and getting access to the on-site restaurants was a challenge. The buffet food was also substandard and didn’t reflect the quality one would expect from a resort of this level.

That said, we do want to acknowledge two staff members who went above and beyond during our stay — Enrique with Guest Services and Crystal with the Martini Mix Bar. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail stood out in an otherwise frustrating experience. They were a bright spot in our visit and deserve recognition for their efforts.

Grab a Cup 'o Joe, and a muffin for this review.

A bunch of little stuff I had issues with. Such as, in the room there is one of those K cup, single coffee makers. At first they left 2 pods of coffee, until I spoke to the housekeeper, then she would leave a bunch. But there were no stirrers or spoons. So I had to bring one from the buffet back to the room. As for the buffet, it was OK, not a very big selection of stuff, and trying to get something to drink was like pulling teeth. And most of the time what they did have was the same things as previous nights. Other resorts I have been to have different themes for different nights.

Also, a suggestion for them would be to invest in some overhead lighting for the paths around the resort. They had small 2 ft tall lights on the side of the walkways. They did NOT provide enough lighting. Numerous times I used the flashlight on my phone to illuminate the path we were walking on.

Also every resort we have gone to there were employees on the beach all day asking if you wanted a drink or something. This place had no one. There was a bar on the beach in the Hideaway section, the Aquarius bar, but it was not open until the last day. Previous days it was just occupied by employees, hiding from having to do work. So if we wanted a soft drink or water I had to walk to another bar.

They definitely need to invest in re-vamping the elevators. We were in building 2, and every time we took the elevator, I thought we were gonna plummet to out death. The creaking and popping, and the car itself shifting back and forth. The shift was so bad, there would be a gap that would form between the door and the wall, to where you could see the concrete exterior wall passing by.

Also their internet/Wi-Fi was horrible. If the Wi-Fi connected it was unusable. I believe most of the time, my phone didn't stay connected to Wi-Fi, and had to use mobile data.

On Wednesday night they had a Micheal Jackson tribute, 6 dancers and someone playing the part of MJ. Umm I would suggest Upper Management send their troupe to the RIU resort in Jamaica, to see how a show is supposed to go. For this show there were numerous times where the lead singer, performing as MJ was not even on the stage while singing......

Last item was departure. The second day we were there we met with the rep from Amstar. She told us she would send an email with the departure info, 2 days before we were to leave. I told her that may be an issue since the internet was pretty non-existent. She said she would also send a letter up to the room with the info, just to be safe. Wed rolled around and spent the entire day checking my phone, only to finally get the email around 530PM. And NO letter was ever sent to the room. We were to be in the lobby for a 10:45am pick up Friday morning. We arrived in the lobby at 10:15am just to be safe. And stood there twiddling our thumbs. No Amstar Rep to direct us where to meet the transport, and the 2 Royalton employees could not care less, only looking up from their phones when I asked about the transport. Both said to stay there, and they would let us know when the transport arrived. Fast-Forward to 11:00am, 2 transport vans have come and go, and we are still standing there. I finally snapped and quite loudly said, "Is anyone going to tell us what the hell is going on. Our pickup was supposed to be 15 mins ago". One of them finally chimed in and said "Oh Yeah, you can get on this van", which had just pulled in. If I hadn't said anything, I believe we would still be standing there. VERY UNORGANIZED, and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

All in all if someone asked I would not recommend that resort.

Great Experience! Will be returning!

We had a great time at the Hideaway Royalton. I was honestly apprehensive at first due to the reviews I read online, but I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome, clean and comfortable room, and gorgeous views. I don’t think it’s a 5-star resort or experience, but I’d give it 4. Due to our Marriott status, we were upgraded to a gorgeous ocean view suite. The room was clean, comfortable, with consistent AC, and had gorgeous sunset views from the balcony. Our butlers, Shannon and Teddy, were warm, welcoming, and communicative throughout our stay. When it came to the food on-site, it left room for wanting more. We ended up spending most of our time dining off site, except for the Chef’s Experience. All 7 courses were good, not amazing. Everything was sweet and savory - kind of one note - but again very good. I’m glad we did it, but probably wouldn’t do it again. Dorado and the Food Truck were consistently good for lunch. My top advice is to treat staff with the same compassion and respect you’d expect from them and you will receive the same in return. I’d definitely return to this Marriott property again in the future.

Disappointing to say the least.

Our experience was totally subpar. I work in the hospitality industry as a service manager in NY and unfortunately the “Service” at the Royalton Hideaway was SUBPAR. We went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and upgraded to a Junior “Suite”. Though a nicely appointed room with 2 refrigerators (not minibars) it only had 2, 10 oz beers that were not consistently replenished, even after requesting that it be. Coffee pouches were not replenished, fresh towels were not replaced. Follow up calls from management were not made after being promised that they would be. Just a huge disconnect which made my a majority of our stay a disappointment to say the least.

Bday vacation at Royalton Hide away

How would i rate my experience at Royalton Hideaway! Basically it's a beautiful resort, well maintained and manicured grounds. However there's certainly more that can be done in the form of daily entertainment on either sides of the resort. Let's talk a bit about the food, there was definitely not enough variety, to choose from at the buffet or from the food truck, everyday was pretty much the same choices. Now let me not mitigate from the highlight of my stay/birthday...So i was blessed with 2 butler's, Nikita and Kayson, big shout out to them both ! These guys went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I stay very special, not to mentioned the love that was poured into my bday to create memories. Honeymoon

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. It was just like the pictures. The room was so clean and the views were amazing. We did the butler service and it was amazing Nikita and Kayson did such an amazing job helping us with our needs and overall making our experience better.

St Lucia October 2025

Nikita is best butler ever. Appreciate butlers Kenrich and Kaydon. Semonia is a great waitress at all the restaurants. She remembered the favorite drinks for all 6 of us. Tana was great with pre arrival reservations. Adeola with Nexus was helpful with excursion selections. Karina in the Prime office was very helpful.

Less than 5* experience

Currently staying at The Hideaway (3rd day out of 11). Nice location, but some annoyances already! Had to ask the maid to re-clean our floor in the room-sticky feeling and you can see dirty mop lines all over. Most bars do not have stock of certain drinks-dark rum nowhere to be found (we’re in the Caribbean and no dark rum!). At lunch today in the main buffet restaurant and asked for some rose wine - “we’ve run out”! The Martini Bar where the main entertainment is held doesn’t even have any martini or very few cocktail glasses. We asked for a classic martini to which the bartender asked what is that and promptly came back with some concoction in a tumbler. We asked today at the Hideaway bar for a dark rum and was told ‘no mate’ without even looking at us- discourteous. Hoping things improve in these areas soon.

Dont waste your money

We were on our honeymoon and expected so much better for the price we paid .Food is basic and bland. Not a single bartender knows how to make a decent drink. Resort is under construction in parts but resort as a whole needs a ton of work. Definitely not a 5 or even a 4 star resort. So many different people pushing over priced excursions on you. Even just a simple taxi ride to town is over priced. The sunsets at night where the best part of the whole resort. Trash all over what little beach there is and even floating in water.

Anniversary

We had a wonderful time at the Royalton Hideaway-we had a very warm, and welcomer person(Damy D)-she was very knowledgeable, respectful and experienced in her job.You can tell that she loved what she does. The staff was also respectful and friendly towards us. We loved the entertainment that we attended every night, we enjoyed the food and our daily walks, and going to the beach.Thanks to (DD) we will always remember this trip.

The Butlers make your stay!!! Get the Diamond 💎 package

Our butler’s Nikita & Kayson were the highlight of our stay. They make every moment so special. We cannot thank them enough!!! Our room was gorgeous in Bldg 1 with a view of the cove. Pools on property are amazing. Had such a wonderful stay.

#JET2HOLIDAY

0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! What was supposed to be a cute Girls’ Trip as Diamond Members quickly turned into a Jet2Holiday. Staff was extremely rude, unaccommodating and unhelpful! Basic items were frequently missing from our table such as napkins, water, champagne glasses and cutlery and when asked about these items the answer was simply, “ we don’t have it”

Food orders at restaurants were constantly incorrect, late, or in our case simply never came as staff members did not care to listen to the orders and place them correctly. Not one food order that we placed with room service was accurate as items missing or substituted for items we never asked for or approved of.
Don’t even think about ordering from their ‘24 hr room service’ as they close at 2 am.
Complaints escalated to managers were simply met with apologies without resolutions. Please save your hard earned money and stay anywhere else but here. Worst all inclusive experience ever!
