2025 October Fun - Hotel Riu Republica

This hotel exceeds most of the expectations I had after reading the majority of the reviews. The check in was painless. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food choices are plentiful and tasty.

There are so many different pools, bars, and activities to enjoy. The beach is clean with plenty of shade and lounge chairs to relax and enjoy the sun and surf.

If you have a bad time here, it's your own fault. Any issues I had with my room were resolved within hours.

Relaxation

Over all the hotel was great food was ok.
Service at bar next to steak house was the best waitress did not miss a beat I think her name is yalibal not sure if spelled right. Everyone was helpful with the price to party

Riu Republica 2025

Service in reception leaves a lot to be desired. The staff need to concentrate on the customer not start lengthy conversations with work colleague's whilst ignoring the customer. I reported a health and safety issue which had still not been resolved when we left. i also requested a blanket which was ignored twice. The Steak house was lovely and the staff were too. The main restaurant was lovely with plenty of choice. Lunch times were great as i used the beach side jerk chicken hut . Beautiful. Bar staff were very polite and efficient. Unfortunately we did get bitten by mosquitoes on our first evening. Rooms were kept clean every day. Hall ways and stairs mopped every day. The whole complex was continually being cleaned. Great value for money. Day time entertainment is rather loud and energetic but is aimed at younger adults.

Not What We Was expecting

We recently returned from this complex as a couple in our early 50s and we read all the reviews with an open mind, however there was certain things that cannot be ignored.
Hardly any of the staff spoke English and when they could not be bothered with you there reply was "i no speak English".
The air conditioning in the rooms whilst kept the rooms at a good temperature i think they are not properly maintained as my wife and her sister both came down with air con sickness which is a dry cough and headaches and a visit to the onsite doctor for medication which did not really help and cost $750.00 later.
the food is very plentiful on the resort but every restaurant we went to the food was always cold or luke warm.
The beach was our best places to spend our time but was very very busy and the hassel from the peddlers can be a bit tiring.
Some of the comments made about the pools not being cleaned i felt was untrue as we saw them cleaning them every morning and putting chemicals in them every day.
the quietest part of the hotel is definitely the side left of the reception the only down side at the front there is what appears to be a stream of sewage running on long the front which gets a bit stinky by the end of each day and breeds a lot of mosquito's.
The resort is very much tailored for the younger generation as a lot of the themed nights are of site at a neighboring RIU resort.
i emailed Beneli Mota customer services at the resort in advance as a RIU member of nearly 10 years now explaining i was in recovery from a operation for cancer and could i use my points and pay for an upgrade again this fell on deaf ears and no consideration was given, just wonder what is the point of membership if you have no privileges.
We really appreciated the service from Diana in the garden bar she looked after us so well and is a credit to the hotel.

Dont go this hotel

Terrible experience. They didn't have enough towels. Two days with cold water because there was no hot water in the hotel. Bad room phone.
Sometimes they didn't clean the room until 4:00 p.m.
In some places, the food was disgusting, with no care or hygiene.

Not good

Was there end of august.
Rude manager, front desk staff was horrible. Got food poisoning the last day was so bad had to go to the hotel doctor and was charged with a very high bill. Spent our last day and night sick in bed. Worste experience!
Sent an email to customer service and not a reply to date.
