Let start with the good things.
Eight rivers restaurant is the best, food is amazing definitely there is the hand of executive chef Valentin M.
Staff need training, are few amazing and some they don't have a clue.
Water Staff, helpful ,friendly, amazing team.
Lovely place ,all together.
But .
If you forget to leave tips you room probably will done poorly.
At the bar , grate yang funny team.
I dislike the way SOME team leaders treat the staff, or treat the customers,
Asian restaurant need attention.
Food is not what is named.
In general food is not what is named, good but rong named.

An overall positive experience, despite a few issues

Couples Tower Isle had some really awesome aspects, but it also fell short at times including: service and overall appearance/upkeep.
I have only visited a handful of all inclusive resorts, all at various islands in the Caribbean. They share many commonalities, like ocean views, beautiful lobbies, buffets and a variety of activities for guests.
Couples is unique in that it has a nude island, which turned out (surprisingly) to be our favorite space as it had the best views, breeze and was the least crowded. This space is a large reason I rate this resort as a four rather than a three.
In my limited experience, I think that CTI has work they can and should do in order to provide a better experience for their guests.
The resort itself is in need of some updating and general upkeep. While there are for sure a lot of beautiful spaces, there are also dingy carpets in poorly lit hallways. The AC in our room never could cool the room much until nightfall and even still, it was rather warm. We did ask about it, someone came out to “look” but nothing was changed or “fixed”.
The furniture, bathroom, exterior doors and windows definitely showed their age and are not what I have come to expect at a five star resort. There were scratches and scuffs on surfaces, the door to the patio did not shut/stay shut, a bathroom window was tied “shut” with a ribbon, tiles were cracked and grout around the tub and very small shower was dark and dingy.
The food was good overall. However, I was disappointed that some of the foods listed on their online menus were never actually available and when I asked about lion fish, I was told at two different restaurants, that they never had it- unfortunately, I had really been looking forward to trying it. A small thing, but none the less, frustrating. The an availability of food was sometimes an issue as they had times when there was wait periods between one restaurant closing and another one opening.
Service was surprising because I had read a lot of very positive reviews. Let me say first, that many of the staff members were very kind, welcoming and so helpful. While others came across as put out that we were there or that we needed something. A couple of encounters with staff were downright rude. I will not mention any names because while the poor experiences were disappointing, none were so bad that someone should need worry about losing their jobs. But I do think it’s worth mentioning that we personally had a few negative interactions that left a bad taste in my mouth.

We had the best vacation we have ever taken together! Not to mention we had the best honeymoon! The people we're so kind and you get so much included. The spa was amazing, the pool bar was our favorite, the beach was nice. I think the best part was the kindness and how well taken care of you are from the minute you step foot on the resort. It was so relaxing, the food was good but I wasn't blown away or anything but that didn't take away from how wonderful it was.

I have to be brutally honest while we enjoyed our visit and stay here there are some pros and cons you should be very aware of .firstly the almost 2 hour transfer from Montego bay airport .Because we arrived late 10.30 pm we did not recieve cold towels or champagne ( others that arrived the following days ) were greeted with this. The staff are mostly exceptional especially eight rivers ,bayside the manager who is present is the friendliest kindest guy ! The wait staff fun and lovely. The watersports guys ( glass bottom boat and catamaran) brilliant 👏 piano bar singer makes this place ! Silver birds I cannot tell you how joyful and spectacular there show is .But unfortunately I have to add the downside the guest rooms are tired so tired they look dirty ( am sure they were clean as housekeeping were attentive ) the air-conditioning barely works in your room ( non existent in bathroom )concierge service the gentleman was fab but one particular lady needs to reconsider her career choice .I could name and shame but that's for management. My husband is a golfer he brought his clubs every other resort has helped match him with someone to play she truly could not be bothered ,just kept telling him to check back and see if anyone else had signed up .Also the total lack of shade meant the pools during the day were out of the question for us and hunting for shade on the beach was a daily game .not everyone's skin is capable of full sun all day .a few parasols for the loungers would be nice .the atmosphere and location is beautiful the food is great but it's time to refresh the interior .a few friends we made at the resort had bugs in there room .we luckily did not .a nice holiday but not 5 stars .would love to say we will be back the staff make the place but am not sure it will be enough .

Most beautiful Couples Resort- Tower Isle

My husband just returned from an incredible relaxing vacation at the Couples Tower Isle resorts. This review is based on our true experience for the 6 days we have spent there. We left this resort feeling welcomed, appreciated and fulfilled.

This resort exceeded all our expectations if you love scenery like we do. We had a memorable stay at this resort, which has ticked off many of the boxes., especially the beautiful ocean front room. The staff were always friendly and helpful. You walked around and every one greeting you with a smile, followed by a hello.

Our stay at the Couples Tower was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with exceptional service and warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. There was exceptional customer service throughout our stay at the hotel. Staff was always there to ensure you book the reservation for the restaurant, they ensure you have all the information to enjoy the amenities of the hotel.

The grounds were kept immaculate. My husband and i enjoyed the garden around the resort. There are also 3 beautiful Macaws and birds. The Macaws were the best. They spoke to you and laughed with you. Hello, goodbye, love you, pauly wants a cracker, I am pretty are some of their words. They are adorable and added to the beautiful garden.

The food and cocktails were outstanding. There is a variety of selection of food to choose from. The coffee is really tasty, especially the flavors from the coffee shop.

We had a truly first-class stay at the Couples Tower Isle, especially our beautiful beachfront room. Imagine waking up every day with the view of the beautiful turquoise ocean water, blue sky, white sand, and swaying coconut trees right from your balcony Watching the sunset every evening right from our balcony was nothing short of magical, the stunning ambiance, which enhanced our overall experience.

The beach is well kept. The water is beautiful turquoise with pure white sand and best part was no sea weed. The water is not rough and as a non swimmer I was able to enjoy the ocean to the fullest. There are enough trees on the beach for shade and no need to reserve chairs. There is also plenty of places for people to Sun tan. There is also a private island across from the resort where people can go to sun tan. The resort take people back and forth who wanted to use it. There resort also offer a tour over to the island when no one is there in the early morning. Not sure what the island have to offer, as I did not do the tour, however if you like being in the nude to tan then you may like it.

The resort also offers you free catamaran sailing , snorkeling, diving and other water sports as well as golfing. We enjoyed all the water sports as the beautiful carribean ocean was something you couldn't resist. The water sports team are talented and have great knowledge of the open sea and aquatics. If you love the water like we do, make use and enjoy the free water sports included at the resort

The reservation at the a la carte restaurants were easy to book through the guest services. You also have the App you can download on your phone to order room service, supplies for the fridge, maintenance and other amenities.
There is water filters on every floor for you to fill up the glass bottles the hotel supply in the rooms.

The food in the buffet was tasty and you can always get a variety. We really enjoyed the a la carte restaurants, the dishes were outstanding. The entertainment was enjoyable. The team are talented and their performances were supurb especially the singers.

The resort itself is not large in size. Everything is nearby. The lobby is breathtaking from the time you walk in you can see the open ocean. The surroundings are clean and well-kept maintained.

Couple Tower will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. We have certainly had the most relaxed pampered vacation at the Couples.

Thank you again to everyone who made our stay a memorable stay..

Jamaica holiday resort

Been at Couples for 9 days total

The location by the sea with private beach on the north coast is perfect , windy everyday which is great when it’s 90 plus F. Beach and pools are all very nice

The resort is well maintained and offers a range of water sport equipment free of charge and a shuttle boat to the small island where you find the nude beach

Tennis courts with access to instructor was great , thanks

The rooms and balconies are nice and spacey and a included minibar with full bottles of liquor

Pool bars and a small range of restaurants on the property should cater to that luxury feeling

So the biggest disappointment is the quality of food and beverage

When the bars can’t make a mojito and the daiquiri is a pre-made slush with a dash of rum that’s just not good enough

The main dining is a buffet restaurant and the food is simple and repetitive, I mean how many days can you enjoy snapper in a row …..

The specialty restaurants are set up as fine dining and Asian and days with Jamaican cuisine , great selection but again quality and skills are not meeting expectations made by Couples themselves in marketing material

The service is friendly and laid back and what to expect on a Caribbean island and good vibes deffently

Beautiful romantic resort

The fact I’m doing this review while I’m still here says alot!!! This place is phenomenal….. from the food to the service to the atmosphere! Ainslay has gone over and beyond from the moment we got here! Dwayne with the water sports is on a different level!!! He took us out sailing and my beautiful beach hat flew off. I told him it’s ok to forget it….. nope, he turned the sail around and kept his eye on my hat….. we got it back!!! He was just awesome from his service to his amazing personality! This resort is top notch!!!

Relaxation in a great environment

This was our first time to Jamaica and a Couples resort so we hoped it would live up the reviews and it did.
Room: We stayed in an ocean view room in building 4 and the room was very clean and well maintained. I do have to say that everyone complains about the shallow sinks in the bathroom and yes they are dumb. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on and pillows were great as well. I do wish the blackout curtains went all the way to the floor because it does get bright pretty early. Once we were inside the room we didnt hear anyone else at all.
Dining: Eight Rivers and Bayside restaurant lived up to what we heard and I can't complain about them at all. In the main area buffet restaurant the food was always good but sometimes it was hard to get service or attention. For lunch most days we ate at the grill and it was as expected from a grill with burgers and fries. I did really like the soda machine in the grill to get water and ice at anytime even if they were closed.
Bars: These bartenders can pour some stiff drinks and nothing was watered down like I have had in some Mexico resorts. Admittedly we spent most of days on the island being served by Santana and she was great and mixing and serving drinks whenever we needed. Espresso Martinis in the piano bar at night were a great way to wind down the evening.
Pools and Beach: As I mentioned we spent most days on the island and it was so much fun. The people are so nice and you can relax in the sun alone if wanted or talk and play card games in the pool with an amazing group. When we did spend a little time at the main pool bar towards the end of the day the drinks were good and people were partying. Late at night we loved going to the buddha pool and just relaxing in the quiet environment before turning in.
Diving: The dive staff was great and they are very safety focused. Make sure you bring your dive logs in addition to your certifications to prove your recent dives. When we did get everything taken care they were awesome in getting us setup and onto the boats. We saw sea turtles, crabs, lobster and all types of fish.

We would go back in a heartbeat and are planning a return visit next year.

It’s Official, This is Now Our New Jamaica Home

After enjoying our first visit to Tower Isle in November 2024 this return visit in late July, early August 2025 confirms it for us. We have now found our new Jamaica home. We thoroughly enjoyed both stays but our second stay was even better than the first simply because we were more familiar with the wonderful staff and the resort at large. OK, the ride from Sangster airport is a bit testy but once you get onto the resort property all is well. Check in was a breeze and our Bellman, Annesley (AKA Panda) got us to our room in record time. Not without a quick stop to see Paulette at guest reservations to get set up with some dates and times to Eight Rivers and Bay Side. Thanks to you both for your outstanding help. Our room, 4412 was great with the waterfront view we just can’t get enough of. Everything in the room worked as planned. Housekeeping was excellent. During the week we had several housekeepers but one stood out. Asanya was outgoing and warm. What a wonderful human being! She even did some towel art for us which is a thing of the past. The mini bar service was spot on and kept our room beverage supplies well stocked. We attended a Jamaican cooking class and Chef Javaun taught us how to prepare jerk chicken and jerk sauce. Chef Javaun applies his delicious talents and skills at the Eight Rivers restaurant. Keep an eye on this guy because he is obviously a chef with special gifts. Donlene was one of the ladies in the Patio dining room who helped make our experience there extremely pleasant. Such professionalism is to be admired and appreciated. The grounds at the resort are jam packed with all sorts of tropical vegetation and trees. We did a nature walk with Roland (I’m not sure if I got his name right but his picture is included with this review) and really enjoyed his sharing the limitless info he has on the landscaping of the property. There’s a philosophy that says something like” If you enjoyed your experience, tell everyone. If you didn’t, keep it to yourself.” We have found that vacationing in Jamaica isn’t all peaches and cream but we have learned that the unpleasant things that happen must not keep us from enjoying every minute of our stay. Remember that there are no problems, just situations. Contact me if you want those juice details. In closing, this was our 12th trip to Jamaica, our 3rd stay with Couples, our 2nd stay at Tower Isle. We have seven different Jamaican resorts under our belts and we are relieved to know that Couples Tower Isle is our home away from home. We can’t wait to get back!

I would return

Very beautiful grounds and most staff were amazing to include housekeeping, spa and waist staff. I recommend if you stay in the villa obtain the spa menu in advance, which has been modified recently and try to book your spa services in advance otherwise they may tell you “we don’t have anyone available to perform your service “, which I was told, not exactly “unlimited” as advertised.

Very pleasant hotel with great service

Stayed here for seven nights in mid-January and have to say the place really grew on me and I would recommend, despite a number of shortfalls. It is a good two-hour drive from Kingston airport but the complimentary hotel transfer was seamless enough in a small mini bus, complete with decent reggae music along the way! Arriving late at night meant the introduction to the services wasn’t as great as I’d expect but they do offer a daily ‘orientation’ tour at 10am which is great to get you familiar with everywhere in the large complex.

Our room was on the fourth floor and down the side of the property. At first this felt a little ‘cut off’ but actually was really nice - there were still good ocean views from the balcony but it came with no noise from the pools or evening activities so was totally relaxing. It was a shame that the mini bar was empty on arrival, with no instructions on how to get it stocked, and indeed there was no guide to any of the services or facilities, so the morning orientation session is a must!

It was annoying there were no light switches next to the bed so you need to navigate from the door in the dark, not helped by the fact the bedside lamp was badly broken; some maintenance and touch-up in the room wouldn’t go amiss. It was also frustrating that the shower had really weak power and, while great at always returning throughout the day, housekeeping were very random with what they did - sometimes exchanging four towels for two, large with small etc.

However the main the room was great - really large and spacious, wonderful balcony with seating, effective air-conditioning and ceiling fan, loads of storage space, huge comfortable bed and everywhere really clean. Eventually we found there was a website where you could request the mini-bar to be stocked, as well as make restaurant reservations which was really handy; just a shame it wasn’t advertised better!

The variety of restaurants is great, although most require a reservation to be made. The buffet restaurant had small changes each day to try prevent it becoming repetitive and the food quality across them all was generally good. The various bars throughout the complex are fantastic - great staff, a huge menu and both premium and local spirits available.

There’s a couple of pools and both felt a little dirty as the day went on. There’s also no umbrellas for any of the loungers, so if you’re not a sun lover you need to be careful securing one of the few options in the shade, but otherwise there’s some good comfortable seating available. The swim-up bar is a real gem with wonderful service and a good amount of seating for the size of the pool.

There’s plenty of free activities on offer including various water sports. The glass bottom-boat trip was a nice highlight, giving a good overview of the local area as well as the sea life. Each day there’s also some form of activity on the beach or by the pools, but fortunately none of it is too intrusive and there’s never pressure to join in if you don’t want.

Overall if was a great hotel for a week of relaxation and I’d certainly consider staying again!

Has it all - fun activities and entertainment to relaxing chill and spa

If you are celebrating your wedding anniversary, engagement, or simply looking for a romantic getaway – this is your spot! I loved so many things about this resort that I could rave about it forever. Yet here it is in a nutshell. These three elements made my stay unforgettable – food, entertainment activities/ events and staff! You could chill at the swim-up bar all day. Or, like me, an ambitious learner, -- take pickleball, yoga, volleyball, tennis, sailing, painting, or dance classes. Evening shows were outstanding: barrel drums, reggae dance, jazz & singing, fire show, Caribbean dance mix, karaoke, sing along at the piano bar. Fun! Fun! Fun! Classy with hints of Jamaican authentic wild spirit. Golf course is nearby, too. Transportation and Greens fees are complimentary. Cart, caddy, club rental is at an additional cost. I also enjoyed snorkeling, scuba diving, and sunset sailing cruise. Scuba equipment is included except for a body suit. Bring your own goggles. Must book ahead of time – I made my weekly schedule for the dinner reservations and limited seating activities on the day of arrival. I stayed at the resort most of the week this time around Jamaica, yet I recommend booking the Dunns River falls tour while you are there. Horseback riding could be fun, too. Shopping trip into town is possible – be prepared to be sold by everyone – it is a part of the reality here – don’t take it personally. Good news, prices are negotiable.

Food was absolutely delicious. I would come back here just for the food experience. Yet, I must say I have a very eclectic palette and enjoyed dishes that most will find too exotic like, escargot, lamb chops, oxtail, curry goat and other classic Jamaican dishes. Don’t worry they also have plenty of “regular” delicious dishes, too!

Option to trade places with a sister resort is available. My new friends that I made here told me that it was worth exploring - giving it a different flavor to their stay.

Finally, the staff goes out of their way to ensure we all have the most enjoyable time. They are entertaining, helpful, funny, super friendly, and professional. Coffee shop lady, even though 8 months pregnant, put so much love and attention into making each cup to ensure it's perfect, no matter how busy it was. SPA hot stone 90 min massage treatment put me on cloud 9. Talented entertainment Team delighted us with their wit, incredible voices, and brought a fun spirit to every moment!

Beach area is private and secluded with no vendors – I loved that! Water is crystal clear. Nude island is 2 min boat ride away. Sunsets are stunning.

Not terrible but not the greatest

I wish others were a bit more honest in their reviews because it’s not a 4.5/5 star resort. CTI is very outdated. Our room was super small (ocean view, so not the lowest level), the layout of the room is odd, and our air conditioning barely worked the entire trip. We complained to the front desk about this on our first day and nothing ever happened. The day entertainment is very lack luster and there are def some staff who act like they don’t want to be there. Also, beach chairs are not hard to get, but there is barely any shade (no umbrellas) and the chairs are so close together. You’re like literally on top of other people.

On the good side the food was great every day/night, and many of the bartenders were super nice.

Overall, I realize this was one of the first resorts in Jamaica so there’s a lot of history, but updates are severely needed for me to return.

Great Time at the Oasis Villa and Resort

We spent 6 nights at the Oasis Villa. We had a fantastic time. Based on some comments I read, I was concerned about the villas being worn down and the hotel being dated. While the hotel is on the older side, it didn't negatively impact our stay.

PROS:
-- The room! It was spacious, modern, and always kept clean. The bathroom is enormous and we loved the double head in the shower. The plunge pool was clean and a great way to get away from the sun. The pool was mostly in the shade but the water was a perfect temperature. We found ourselves using it a few times a day after a massage or after hanging out at the beach.
-- The Spa. One of the benefits on the villa is unlimited massages and we took full advantage of them. I'm nerdy and did the math... to justify the cost of the room you have to average ~2 massages per day. We certainty did that on most days. The hot stone massage was my favorite. My wife enjoyed the bamboo one.
-- The service and staff. Extremely accommodating and very friendly.
-- It was offseason. The resort was pretty empty and we loved that. Never had any issues making reservations or grabbing loungers on the beach. We were not there for the nightlife so didn't care that there weren't many people at the bar or piano bar late at night. We'll aim to go in August again next year.

CONS:
-- Hot water in the villas. The water in shower got lukewarm at best.
-- The food. It wasn't bad, but nothing great. We ate at all restaurants and thought Bayside was just ok. Eight Rives was better. The buffets were fine. The best part about the food was probably the room service -- not so much because of the quality, but the convenience of eating in your room

A FEW RECCOS:
-- Bring tip money. We tipped at the bar and at the spa. Don't know if it impacted our service, but we had great service throughout the week.
-- Don't be afraid to ask. The staff is extremely accommodating. There is a good chance your request will be met.
-- Skip out on the catamaran cruise. It was just ok. You have to take a shuttle to a near by beach and it turned out to be an ordinary boat ride. The boat takes you around the bay for 15min, then anchors while you swim for 20min, and then does one more loop before dropping you off at the bus again. Not terrible, just nothing special.
-- Do the night snorkel. It's an extra cost ($100/person) but you get to see a lot more than the day snorkel. We saw turtles, sting rays, puffer fish. We spoke with people who did the day snorkel and said they didn't see anything other than colorful fish.

A long winded way of saying we'll definitely be back and I highly recommend the resort. If you can swing it, get a villa - you won't regret it.

Bit tattie and tired

We did have a lovely two weeks at this resort but it's a little bit tattie and tired in places, our room had a cracked sink and door handles that were badly fitted. The pools could have been lovely if not for missing tiles and the beach is very small with quite a lot of road noise but It must be doing something right because it has a lot of returning guests.

Home away from home

We have just come back from an incredible stay at Couples Tower Isle and I am so pleased we went. I was a little worried about the ‘dated’ reviews on here, although the hotel is a little in areas it adds to the charm. If you are wanting something ultra modern then maybe book elsewhere but if you are wanting luxury, to feel genuinely cared for and a wonderful experience this is the place for you! The food was absolutely amazing, I cannot fault a single meal that I have eaten whilst being there. I cannot thank or sing praises about the staff enough, what wonderful, friendly people you employ! A special thanks to the below who made our stay truly special:

Kirk- porter
Phelicia
Kasey- Asian restaurant
Jodi- Guest services
Kymani- restaurant
Coushna- Bar staff
Giovanni- Bar staff
Damion- Chef
Samoy- Kitchen
Demario- Bar
Jumananne- Boar
Kevor- Boat
Rhoshanne- Kitchen
Rachel- Towels
Garth- Entertainment

It is lovely to hear that these staff feel treated well by management and enjoy working at the hotel, for me this gives the hotel extra charm.

The drinks were faultless and all very lovely.
Although the room was a little dated, the shower worked really well and we had a fabulous view. The bed was really comfortable and there was a wonderful walk in wardrobe.

The bottomless boat trip was incredible and I would highly recommend. They have so much knowledge and the music is really good.

The only frustrating thing for me is this hotel has a ‘no tipping policy’ however, I constantly saw the Americans tipping people and one set made a big spectacle/scene about it, which really embarrassed me in the piano bar. It is lovely people want to tip and show gratitude but when we are told it is not allowed, it can be embarrassing. We weren’t treat any differently by the members of staff anyway.

I would also suggest that in the lounge when you arrive at the airport, maybe have a champagne or wine or cocktail selection for people who don’t drink beer. I feel this was very catered to men.

I am the third generation of my family to visit this hotel and will be back, it really was all my expectations come true!

Thank you so much Couples Tower Isle for our wonderful stay 😊

Just average, decent at best

This was our first Couples resort and probably the last; we have been to a few other resorts in Jamaica and this was not great. I can see the shadows of the glamourous resort it once was, but just based on the common expectation of food, service, and infrastructure it all felt very lacking and standing on the last breathe of air.

Pro
-the ground is beautiful, it's a compact resort so things are very within reach, and they offer complimentary outtings like golfing (you pay for equipment and caddie), shopping trips and resort trade with Couples San Souci;

-beach was well maintained, lots of free water sports and complimentary snorkling trips, diving, catemaran trips, and glass bottom boat tours; the au naturel island was fun and a nice option to be away from the activities on the resort;

-decent gym and love the seperate yoga room; 24/7 icecream machine and late night pool side grill was awesome, coffee shop made fantastic drinks, alcoholic drinks were strong, martini nights and piano karaoke nights were fun;

-our room was big and bed was comfy, AC was strong and mini bar well stocked

Con: the food, the service and the infrastructure felt like they want to care but stopped trying.
-Food was not great, mediocre at best. For the posh dress code Eight River demands, the "seafood cake" was clearly made of a cheap frozen fish cake, the lobster bisque tasted like adding boiled shrimp water to a diluted can of cream, the pan seared "catch of the day" was again frozen fillet, and we had steamed eggs masqueraded as cream bruleé and a tart crust that I could not break with a spoon and tasted powdery; the Bayside restaurant is supposed to be asian fusion except there was NOTHING asian, whatever they served was not tom yum goong nor padthai and definitely not basmati rice, which would've been fine if you just called it "soup", "fried rice noodles", and "rice", don't name the authenticity if you can't deliver; the buffet had VERY limited selection, lunch and dinner was a la cart main and it's a hit or miss with how salty things were, the Veranha and the Wednesday Jamaica party were the only time I had good flavour food

-The swimup bar pool had a thick layer of sunscreen and leaves by mid day and no pool maintenance during the day, as the main pool also was littered with leaves by early afternoon, the "pool volleyball" is just someone throwing a red kickball into the pool, and workers were often on their phone or chatting in a group, I've never seen this at other resorts

-Our room sink had a big rusted crack, shower head & soap holder all rusted, celing fan had loose screws, TV is just cable can't connect netflix/prime/whatever, room safe stopped working, "couples" sticker on doors/mirrors half peeling off, slipped on the rattan mats many times; but I guess everything works

-Service staff were either ecstatic or look like they couldn't care less; our room was well cleaned for the first 3 days then staff changed and we had no housekeeping no shower towels for the last 3 days; the bartenders either made fun suggestions and asked our experience, or just stared at us until we ordered; food service people felt very flat, usually just took our order and left, barely any eye contact; I'm not sure if everyone is just overheated, there weren't many smiles nor the general welcome feeling as we were used to at other resorts, but I guess we also never had a bad service experience

This place gave me a general "we are okay with being mediocre" feeling, and for the price there are definitely better resorts around. I don't usually name drop on reviews but special shout out to Danique at the buffet, Devon, Rochelle and Coushina at the bar, Tahjay at the au naturel island and Phelecia at the café for making this otherwise unimpressive stay so much better :)
