Romario made our vacation experience unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that set the tone for our stay. Special anniversary

We booked this holiday for a few reasons. Firstly it was our 35th anniversary and wanted something special. I also lost my mum a few years ago and she left us a little bit of money so we thought we would make memories together in honour of her. And lastly we went to this resort 22 years ago, taken by my husbands employer for 4 days (not long from the UK, especially as we had a 12 hr delay going!) were blown away and felt it was an unfinished holiday.
I really found it hard to rate this resort as somethings were amazing and perfect. Other things average and others awful. We also felt it was no longer a romantic couples resort, a lot of time was a party, loud and rowdy group resort. We spent a far amount of time looking for peace.
We stayed in a butler hillside villa. It had a shared pool between 4 rooms. Absolutely blew us away! Beautiful inside and out. We also were so lucky as apart from a couple of evenings for about 30 minutes when a couple from upstairs came down, we were on our own. It was like our own private space. We had a wonderful lady, Britney, who cleaned our pool twice a day and worked so hard and was very friendly and lovely. We also had the engineer Otis who was equally as friendly and lovely visit to bring flowers and a chat every day. Bringing me a mango that had fallen from a tree one day. We spent a few days not going anywhere just staying at our pool all day and only going out in the evening, getting room service breakfast which was very good. The problem was we did have lots of very loud neighbours and sometimes couldn’t hear each other because of shouting and whooping. This wasn’t just one neighbour it was a few.
The main pool was a lovely big beautiful pool. It was perfect before 10am! You could always find a sunbed and there was plenty of parasols . After 10am the pool bar opened and the party atmosphere began. Occasionally it wasn’t too bad but alot of times very loud and rowdy. But there was two other pools nearby that were alot quieter. The problem was that the top pool only had a couple of parasols and you had to go back to the main pool to get a drink and then walk back, there wasn’t any service around these pools but they were beautiful and more peaceful even though of course you could still hear the main pool.
The beach was very peaceful where we sat. We sat just below vista next to the beach bar and Tapas. There weren’t that many sunbeds but we always got a couple with a parasol even when we were later than usual one morning. The beach bar was great and service and drinks were good. The sea there in front of Kellys dockside was lovely. Full of fish that were jumping out of the water catching smaller fish. The beach is narrow but we really enjoyed the peace and sitting listening to the waves. We never went to the beachclub side as no parasols.

the reception on beachside we found a wonderful pool that was very peaceful. Never full. Had a jacuzzi and also a lot of parasols. Always quiet because again, no bar or service. But we went there a few times as again the peace was wonderful.
Food at tapas and dinos at lunch time was quite good. Vista buffet was extremely poor. We only went once as we were not impressed. Very little choice, no type of potato- no fries, potato wedges or mash, also no type of pasta and only one type of rice. Breakfast here was very good as it was at the southern table.
The evenings we would usually have dinner with about 7.30pm. Most restaurants were ok, one we thought was terrible, one just about ok. Southern table we tried twice and didn’t enjoy either night. The food was edible but not anything better than a quick meal at home. The manor was slightly better but not wonderful. The cats in these two restaurants are completely out of control and at one point at southern table counted 10 by my feet begging for food. More than a little off putting. The best restaurants were the bookable restaurants. Kellys was probably our favourite, but also really enjoyed Valentinos and le gourmand. We visited all three twice. Vista for evening meal was very good and the reef was also good which we did twice.
We also done the romantic meal which was a bit of a disaster. I suffer from a chronic pain condition and try to plan walking and Ochi wasn’t great for this. Steps everywhere, and obviously steep hills in places. We knew this before we booked but my condition has recently worsened and I found it hard to control my pain. The resort knew this as sited for reason for ground floor room request and also were told this was why we booked a butler room so as can have help with getting around, with lifts to restaurants and back up hill yo room. Which brings me back to our meal. On our anniversary we were booked for 8pm. We made our way to the sky outside bar to watch sunset and cocktails at just before 6pm. It was lovely. But while in the bar facing out towards kellys dockside we noticed a couple having a meal up on the sandals tower. I said to my husband- hopefully we aren’t up there. Our butler joined us for a lovely chat before dinner and I told her of my concerns. She reassured us that we weren’t there we were at the beachclub on the beach. So we made out way with her to the location. Quite a walk but manageable as all steps were down apart from one set. And rest was along a boardwalk. Quite a way but our butler was very good and understanding walking at my pace. We arrived and it was darkness, no table no anything. After a phone call the butler informed us they had moved us to the tower at dockside. So now the walk that was long but manageable was up all the steps and not down. Then a big step staircase to our table. I should of refused but I have a habit of not wanting to upset anyone which was detrimental to me and my pain. The meal was wonderful but I couldn’t eat a great deal as now I had alot of pain. I also needed the toilet which I finally gave in and went which meant back down the steep stairs and along the dock to the beach. Where once id been to the toilet found a fella jut outside the door of the bar relieving himself. Wonderful. I then had to make my way back to the meal which by this time was agony. After the meal I had an absolute struggle to get back to our room. Making the way to the hop was almost impossible and I was very exhausted and upset.
We then got back to hillside and had a long wait to get a golf cart as they were extremely busy. This set my pain off for many days, probably affecting the rest of our holiday as after that I found walking 100 yards would set off my pain. Lesson learnt stop worrying about upsetting people so much!!
Alot of nights after dinner we spent in the Rabbit hole. They had the most amazing singer who we saw on her first night and just kept going back as she was astoundingly good. Lady Cher!! The rabbit hole was wonderful. Took me a while to find my drink there as they are all very strong liquor but I did eventually. Also the waitresses there were lovely, one was always dancing and they both worked very hard making sure you always had a full glass. Great atmosphere. We aren’t people for resort entertainment so this bar was great. We also had cocktails a few times at the sky bar which was lovely looking out at the sea. The cocktails were the best i had at the resort. Chocolate martinis and expresso martinis were great but extremely strong!! Staff there also lovely.
Our butlers were lovely. I wasn’t sure to begin with as tipping was mentioned in the first conversation and that I didn’t like, tipping in my opinion should not be expected it should be choice and earned. Saying that we loved our butlers and by the end of the holiday tipped them more than we thought we would. I just believe that all staff should be able to except tips or none, they all work very hard and we genuinely felt welcomed by the majority of staff who were all so chatty and funny and happy, but so hard working.
Kemisha and Odiania were are butlers. They were extremely good and considered them friends by the time we left. I did find having butlers difficult and maybe would do it differently if we did this again. This also comes back to my issue with upsetting people. You are given a phone on your first day, told to keep phone with you. If it gets damaged or lost then you pay for it. I hated the phone. I found it distracting, i was always worried about it. Looking for it in my bag, checking butlers hadn’t rung and feeling terrible if I missed their call. I also couldn’t hear very well on it and sometimes wires got crossed with the butlers as it was very difficult. If I were to ever go again the phone would stay in the safe in the room. Saying that the butlers were lovely ladies and were very understanding about my pain issues. They would bring us snacks and cocktails and made nice surprises in our room. Our room looked beautiful on our anniversary and we would like to thank them dearly as I feel like they were probably two of the best butlers on the resort.
I would also like to say our cleaner, who I didn’t get her name was amazing. Such a lovely lady who spoke so softly and did a wonderful job.
The hop was great, very reliable and never waited long at all. One trip was awful with rowdy and loud guests thinking they were on a private holiday but luckily its a quick ride.
Most evenings able to get a ride up the hill from reception quite quickly.
We had a drink a few times in the bar near reception and although lovely bar and staff we found cocktails were terrible.
One the day of our anniversary we had won a cabana poolside. We were very excited and made our way there at 10am. Unfortunately the cabanas sre extremely hard. I ended up sitting on about 10 towels but still felt like I was on the pavement. So we only stayed about half an hour. These cabanas are considered a luxury and cost $65 a day. We didn’t lose anything as we won it at the butler’s cocktail party but would not recommend anyone paying for one as so uncomfortable.
Our lovely butlers sorted us late checkout on our last day snd so we were able to enjoy a love breakfast from le gourmand and pack at a leisurely pace. Enjoying a few hours in our pool before leaving.
All in all our holiday was lovely and it was a beautiful resort with amazing staff that were such a joy to meet. We had issues here and there but it was still a lot of lovely memories made in honour of my mum.
We wouldn’t return but we had said it was a once in a lifetime. I do believe though that 22 years ago sandals was a couples romantic holiday and that’s changed. It used to be extravagant with pool parties that had massive ice sculptures and if you thought of a food at the buffet, whatever it was you would find it. Like everything I believe sandals has changed not for the better. But it is on par with lower all inclusive companies that are lower priced.
Sorry for the long review but guess I wanted to show the good and bad of our holiday. Oh if if you don’t like cats don’t go here! Love to our villa cats Bob and Marley

New Convert to the All-Inclusive Experience

This was my first experience doing an all-inclusive, and I'm sold.

Let's talk about wonderful service. I felt very odd coming into the situation knowing I was expected not to tip.
However I felt like the dynamic between myself and the staff was fantastic.

We were greeted first by Rudolph. After a long and exhausting day of travel, his warm manner was a welcome relief.
Odeanie and Javane took care of us at the pool bar, both incredibly entertaining and engaging. We enjoyed our conversations with them so much we visited Javane at another bar the next night, and had our last drink with Odeanie before we left.
Romario.L was a sweetheart we ran into several times.
And I can't speak enough of Mikale, who definitely kept the party live for karaoke.

It was cloudy a majority of our short trip, but it didn't actually impact how much we enjoyed the pools and beaches.

The entire experience was wonderful. The properties were gorgeous, the meals delightful.

Lovely Resort

The staff, especially Earl, Amelia, all the reception and bar staff and the fantastic food made this a great place to be in Jamaica.

Sandals - 100% recommend.

This is our first time to Sandals resorts and we would 100% recommend to anyone to come and experience this. The service is one of a kind. The food for an all inclusive is exceptional and we didn’t have a single bad meal. The quality and the wide range of breakfast was a delight.

The staff was very attentive, that includes everyone at the restaurants , bars & the entertainment team. Special shout out to Romario.L for making this holiday one to remember.

We enjoyed the holiday so much, we are already looking at booking another Sandals next year.

One comment would be, is we would have loved to have used the Spa services. However, these were very expensive.

Too much fun was had

We had an absolute blast on our trip. Best butlers ever (Oshane and Caddick). Nicest employees. Aleesha at the water sports beach was literally the best server we had. Hop drivers Steven and Jamal were a joy to encounter.the only reason the resort doesn’t get 5 stars is because housekeeping was not up to par. We constantly did not get replacement towels/bath mats and one night we had NO toilet paper.

Sandals Ochi

A large resort with plenty to do. Good restaurants, lovely beach. Butlers Moria and Roberto were fab. Nothing was too much trouble, they provided good advice and enabled us to really make the most of our stay.

Most of the staff are friendly but special mention must go to Kirkpatrick (Manor House), Owayne (Sundowner) and David (beach). All made great cocktails, were fun and engaging.

Downsides are poor WiFi, and only one treadmill in the Manor House gym.

Accommodation was really good and grounds are beautiful. Getting the hop down to the beach was no bother. We quite liked doing it ans it was so easy. Overall the resort is kept in fantastic condition.

I would definitely stay here again.

Lush resort, great accommodations, food was okay. Small beach area and resort is broken up.

This resort was lush, clean and offered a lot of food choices and activities. However, some of the resort is located across the street which means you had to walk or take a shuttle back and forth. Also, on the area across the street there were lots of very nice villas with butler service but there was a hill. We tried to get a ride with the other golf carts to take us the up the hill, but the driver would tell us he was taking us next and then come back and take others instead. It happened a lot and we had a friend with a healing broken leg.

Lots of restaurants to choose from and fun activities.

I would say 90% of the staff was wonderful. The pools and spa were nice. I wouldn't choose this resort if the beach is your focus area.

Wow!!! Just Wow!!

Not sure where to start. Ok now ive got it. "Absolutely fantastic". So where to start?
The staff. Big smiles. Very curtious. Nothing too much trouble. So lovely and pleasant. The location. The beaches are beautiful and clean. Plenty to do in the area. Mystic mountain with the bobsled ride and the zip line down through the jungle. Amazing. Not forgetting the party cruise to Dunn's River falls, which is an absolute must. The falls are amazing and the food and drink on the way back tops off a fantastic day. The crew on the boat were amazing. The restaurants. Well theres that many and they are all wonderful. The property is split into two separate parts. The beach side and the hill side. With lots of restaurants on both. The free hopper bus leaves every 10 mins. The bus is needed because to get up to hillside its a steep walk but its a courtesy bus so just jump on and your up on hillside in 2 mins. More pools and beautiful restaurants. Ochi is an absolutely lovely property. You want pool fun with games in the big swim up pool bar, thats hill side. You want a quiter day. Head down to beach side with the lovely little beaches (3 of them) with restaurants and bars just yards away. Its seriously so hard to fault anything. Theyve got everything covered. Our room was more than adequate. Superb air con and a lovely mini bar. Never had to ask once to have it re-stocked. Thank you all at Sandals Ochi for making our honeymoon so special, and for making me and my wife feel special. We love you Sandals Ochi.

I did have the time of my life!

Just arrived back from our first time in Sandals and first time in Jamaica from the uk.

We stayed in a honeymoon hide away room which was perfect for us it was a newer renovated room but was in a great location for us and we made use of the club level breakfast room service.

Over all property needs a little attention to get to the 2.0 version but you can see this has started at hillside. As we visited Dunns river property whilst there to view for a possible future visit.

Food was a good standard in every place we visited, service could be slow but you are on holiday so no worries.

We would like to give a shout out to some of the amazing staff who made our trip fantastic.

Jason-entertainment lead never stops and always happy to chat day and night!

Titi- force to be reckoned with Dance wise amazing move execution at reggae and beach shows

Lady Rebecca - talented voice watching you sing in a ball gown in the manor pool a highlight for me.

Andrew -pianist at Ethel’s was brilliant night everyone up singing

Andrew- at soy made my partner a special sushi and has excellent hospitality manner

Panda - entertainment team for getting everyone involved even in the rain at beach club

Wonderful Trip, Excellent Resort

Sandals Ochi was a wonderful place to visit for vacation. We were greeted by Sanomi on arrival and quickly checked in and transport to our rooms arranged. The next morning we took the resort orientation with Romario Lions. He was engaging and gave great information about the resort. He made certain the two couples got all their questions answered and even gave a rundown of what each restaurant served. He also assisted in booking the beachside cabana and checked on us more than one time to ensure we were having a good time.
Our butler at the beachside cabana for 2 days was Sheldon, and he was excellent. He checked in frequently, brought snacks and drinks, ensured we had cold water bottles in the cooler. He was very friendly and helpful. The last day we had booked the cabana we had Neil as our butler. He too was attentive, friendly, brought fruit and snacks to the cabana, as well as drinks and even some bread for the fish we were snorkeling with.
The Redlane Spa attendants Shaneeka, Juliet, and Theresa were excellent for our massage by the pool. I unfortunatly was unable to get the name of the 4th spa attendant on the 27th who worked with Theresa but she also provided an excellent neck and shoulder massage.
The front desk had cake and an anniversary message sent to our room, the food at Neptunes, Kelly's Dockside, Vista, and Mariner's was hot, tasty, and presented well. Bar tenders at several bar areas were able to provide drink recommendations and make delicious drinks. The piano bar had an excellent pianist as well.
We had the best Anniversary trip and would absolutely recommend Ochi to friends or return to the resort.

Feels Like Coming Home – Even Better Than Before!

We last visited Sandals Ochi in 2010 for our honeymoon, and returning 15 years later felt like coming home—but even better! The resort has definitely evolved over the years, and all the changes have been for the better.

Our room was perfect, and housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping everything spotless throughout our stay.

The food was absolutely amazing—I didn’t have a single bad meal all week. Back in 2010, Tapas was more of a grill-style spot where you could grab burgers, fries, or jerk chicken. It’s different now, but still great. I ordered the wings and only got two, so if you want a little extra of something, just ask—they’re more than happy to bring more.

The entertainment at the Rabbit Hole, piano bar, and amphitheater was fabulous and full of energy. We skipped the excursions this time and chose to just relax on property, and honestly, that was the best decision.

The staff at Ochi truly make this place shine. Every single team member we met was smiling, friendly, and greeted us before we even had the chance. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

20 Year Anniversary Celebreation

This was our second time at Ochi; we celebrated our 10 yr anniversary and went back to celebrate our 20 yr anniversary. We had a Bulter Suite for 7 nights and were SPOILED by Roberto and Moria! They thought of everything for us from drinks, to daily snacks, to booking restaurants and we even had a beautiful private dinner on our patio to celebrate our anniversary! We booked an oceanside couples massage that was heavenly and also enjoyed the sunset catamaran cruise that was so much fun. And we always ended our nights at the main house bar with Keneal and Kirk (best bartenders ever). We've already booked our next trip for 2028 and have already requested Roberto and Moria....there aren't enough words to describe how amazing everyone was!

The best place ever

We arrived at the sandals ochi Rio’s jamaica at 10 pm and from word go we were hooked. Our butlers Dalma and Melford were excellent.
This is the first time on a luxury holiday but these two made our holiday extra special. We were made to feel like royalty from word go, nothing was too much trouble for them and all the little extras they done were very thoughtful and made us feel very special. The resort felt extra safe and all the staff were very professional and keen to help in anyway they could.
We stayed on the hill side which we found to be beautiful and not a spot of rubbish anywhere.
The activities team were excellent in joining in on our daily water volleyball sessions and a special thumbs up to Jason. Yeah man. The entertainment was exceptional and in in the rabbit hole bar the singer was a very high standard
Can’t recommend this hotel enough
We had the holiday of a lifetime and can’t wait to go back

A must go to Sandals Ohio

Fabulous holiday, our 1 bed butler villa suite was stunning. We enjoyed the food and the grounds were beautiful, a credit to the gardening team. Dwayne was so much fun and so welcoming, Shereka was amazing in the gym, Pilates, aqua aerobics and she is amazing at her stretching classes, you can even book a private stretching session with her. Courtney our Zone manager was great fun we are hoping he gets into the hide and seek photos (he will know what you mean). Glenroy at the beach water sports centre was such a great young man, friendly and informative, he helped me get to grips with paddle boarding, thanks Glenroy. Our house keeping team were fabulous, thank you so much for looking after us so well.
