Expected to open in early 2015, the property, which will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation, is situated in the north coast of Jamaica, at the head of famed Ocho Rios Bay. Set to undergo a 50 million dollar enhancement in September 2014, Moon Palace Jamaica Grande was acquired by Palace Resorts in July 2014 from Sunset Resorts Jamaica. Extensive renovations will include modernized guest rooms, overhauled meeting spaces, upgrades and redesigns of the common areas, restaurant updates, the addition of a FlowRider® Double wave simulator, Wired Teen Lounge and more. Ideal for a variety of guests ranging from families to couples, the resort will also feature an on property nightclub for adults and expansive kids club dubbed, “The Playroom” for guests 12 years of age and under.

Lovely time and shout out to Almarie in the serving area

It was a wonderful experience, everything was amazing. Food was great, nice rooms, friendly staff. I specifically want to shout out Almarie. One of the server in the dinning hall. Warm and friendly and always happy to help. May God continue to bless you Almarie. To all the other Staff, thank you for making the holiday a memorable one.

Good Vibes at Moon Palace

We went on a family trip to Moon Palace with my family which included myself, my husband, my 12 year old and 15 year old, my sister and my 4 nephews ranging from 1-9 years old and my mom and dad. We had fun for all of our ages and there was plenty to do and entertain us. The experience was amazing with activities for all ages. The pools were fun and the beach and sea water was wonderful. The staff was phenomenal. The staff was friendly and made sure we were all having a nice time. The fitness instructor was fun and my sister and I did water aerobics:) A special shout out to Paris- she went above and beyond every day. She always greeted our family and told us about some activities during the day. When we were at an activity, Paris always had a smile on her face and made it so much fun! She is a true gem I can't say enough great things about her- a special soul! Another shout out to lifeguard Whitney! She is so kind, made us feel welcomed and great. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that the food was great for kids- they all loved it- for adults- it was good but would have liked some more healthier choices for food and drinks. Thank you for great memories at the Moon Palace Resort!

Buyer beware!

Please, please, please book elsewhere and if you can't, choose refundable rate. Even with a category 5 hurricane they won't allow me to reschedule. So no cancellations, I can live with that, but reschedule either!? I'm out thousands. And to what end? Even if I arrived, they can't guarantee electricity, food, or water.
The corporate center was sarcastic and rude. Guys, do yourself a favor, choose anywhere else.

Frustrating trip made better by great staff

We stayed at Moon Palace Jamaica and left on Saturday, Oct 25, 2025. With Hurricane Melissa coming in, the trip ended up being one we’ll never forget. I’m not going to get into the storm details, but I do want to shout out a few staff members who really stood out.

Nicole at check-in was amazing. We had a few different reservations, and even when things got a little mixed up, she handled it all with a smile. She actually remembered our room number every time we came by the desk, small thing, but it meant a lot.

Cadene at Guest Services helped us sort through excursion questions and upgrade info. She was calm and patient and even let me vent a bit when I was frustrated (none of it her fault). She just listened, which I appreciated more than she probably knows.

Sherene from the Loud Bar is great!. She’s funny, kind, and makes everyone feel like she’s been your friend for years. That whole team was great.

And a big thanks to Keelah in PR. She’s the only person who seemed to really take ownership when we had some issues. Even with everything going on because of the storm, she still tried to help.

We did have a few frustrating moments that weren’t storm-related, mostly from poor communication. Still, I want to give credit where it’s due, the staff mentioned above honestly tried to make things right. The resort is beautiful, and Moon Palace is lucky to have people like them.

As the hurricane moves in, I’m thinking about the staff and guests still there and hoping everyone stays safe. Just wanted to share something positive during a tough week.

IMPRESSED!

My first time in Jamaica and at the Moon Palace Resort. It cost a lot of money but the services and amenities provided makes it worth the money. The Spa experience was wonderful - the best massage I’ve receive so far!
Now the experience at the resort during the Cat 5 hurricane was goood. Very well organized and managed. We were all sheltered in the ballrooms set up with sun beds, sheets and pillows. The staff had their own personal hurricane challenges but did allow it to affect their interactions with customers . They were attentive, patient and answered questions with a smile. They had engaging games for children and adults and provided very tasty hot meals for 3 times a day. It says a lot about the leadership 1 kudos to the leaders and their team for a job well done.
I would suggest improved communication where updates are provided to all guests at the same time and multiple times while we were in the shelter. This reduces hearsay and embellishments.

Moon Palace experience

During the hurricane the staff worked hard to ensure we were safe, fed, and sheltered. We saw the entire Moon Palace team at their best from the beginning and during a very serious situation. Each time we voiced a question or request we were greeted with a smile and the phrase “it’s my pleasure”.

Also, the spa experience was one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff were great, very professional, the atmosphere calming and relaxing. It was absolutely excellent.

Moon Palace Oct 2025 - Malissa can with us!!

We had an amazing week at the Moon Palace, the staff are so hospitable. We were meant to leave when the Hurricane hit but we then went into lockdown. However I’d like to express the 101% commitment from every staff member who looked after each and every one of us. Their customer service has been exceptional. Still smiling having left their own families at home in the natural disaster.

I would like to thank all the other families who have shared this experience with us, we and our children have made some lovely friends from this adventure..
Joel one of the Ops managers with his continued smile and kindness has been a great support to his team and us.. The director Clifton Reader walked the whole process with us.. he was available for questions and have an update to the guests with grace which was warm and reassuring.

The waiters, the chef kept the food production going with a smile and. Jamaican dance..

Honestly the staff there have soul in them which makes it special.. and during this stressful experience have made sure everything has kept going… they work hard.. they shelters were set up so quickly for our safety and tolerance were clean all the time… and the food and drink was still on tap.

Will definitely come again but will avoid the hurricane season..

Amazing Staff - Hurricane Melissa

The staff at Moon Palace Jamaica deserve global recognition and commendation for how they handled this category 5 hurricane situation. The internet is down across all of Jamaica yet I am able to push out a message thanks to properly managed resources and a satellite starlink connection. Gods hand was on this place and he definitely dwells among these upstanding Individuals. Despite everything they were going through, they held their composure and prioritized our safety and well-being. If you ever plan to visit Jamaica in the future and want to have a great experience, this group of people will take care of you. From Andrew, Stacey Ann, Anthony, Antoinette, Marlando, and the rest of the team they truly understand service and hospitality.. but more importantly, they demonstrated outstanding character by putting their guests first in the middle of a crisis, even when some patrons weren’t always respectful.

Seeing all the negativity being spread online about other tourist experiences I don’t think it’s right that their efforts go unnoticed. I don’t think it’s right that we highlight b/s but not the real. The aftermath of this disaster is not over yet, but I have to say.. amazing job to this entire team. 🙏🏽
