Best Sandals Staff Experience

Had a 7 night stay for our anniversary and the staff was incredible. Super personable, very kind and willing to help in any situation. Even with hundreds of people around the resort, they managed to remember our names on day 1!

Tasha and Davia, in addition to being amazing vocalists, sat poolside and played games, became our volleyball teammates, and stopped to chat with us whenever we crossed paths.

Akeem and Yashawn are incredible performers, Akeem taking time to remember everyone he interacted with and Yashawn playing games with guests even after a long performance.

Geo and Javane will always greet you with a smile and some fun banter in addition to providing the amazing music, they’ll find you in a crowd and create inside jokes that’ll only grow by the day.

The entire entertainment staff operates like a family more than a set of coworkers. Absolutely amazing!!

Can’t forget to mention the kindness of Frank at the Jerk Shack and Owen at the pool bar for being so kind and the first to greet you as you step outside! They’ll remember your order after a single interaction and always check in with you!

The fact that in the midst of relaxation we can tell you the names and personalities of these people is a testament to relationships you’ll easily build here. Sandals Montego Bay for the win!

Michandia the Queen

That was one of the best meals I ever had. The service was absolutely incredible from Michandia. She truly made the meal even all the more special for my wife and I on her honeymoon. She deserves a raise and she is the best!!!

Wonderful experience

My husband wand I spend 5 wonderful days at Sandals Mobay. The location was convenient to airport and to local venues. The atmosphere was refreshing. The staff was welcoming and caring.
Our suite was breathtaking as we were overlooking the sea. Gorgeous view, we had everything we needed and more. The service was impeccable all throughout the Resort. Loved every moment of being there. We will definitely be back.

Needs to improve.

Stayed 11 nights in a butler suite , the two butlers were great And checked up on us everyday, The resort was very quiet which suited us as no queues for anything and loads of spare sunbeds all day .
Staff - Came across too many miserable staff but noticed when they were together they were laughing and joking .
Food and drink - Biggest concern for us , The amount of times they ran out of ingredients for drinks and starters and mains not available on menus was actually shocking for the money paid .
It is a lovely resort and some lovely staff but sadly the above points let it down and we also spoke to other couples who experienced the same issues.
Heard people saying it’s not the same since the son took over .

Unfortunately, responding to Customer Service issues is not a priority at Sandals

I had a very disappointing experience at Sandals. I wrote to their Customer Service team to provide honest and constructive feedback instead of posting a review. Their automated response stated they'll respond within 5 business days, but I guess my feedback didn't warrant a response. I wouldn't want others to experience the same issues, especially the resort is quite costly. So, I will post the same e-mail I sent to Sandals Customer Service here for your review so you can see what you can expect:

Sent 9/8 via e-mail:
Hi- I took your survey, but I thought I would take an extra 10 minutes to provide some honest feedback about our experience @ Sandals Montego Bay. I hope you understand, there is no malintent for sharing our experience. I truly hope to provide honest feedback to help others have a better experience. If you don’t know, you can’t improve, right?

When we arrived in Jamaica, we were swiftly greeted by the ClubMo team member who helped us get our bags and get to the Sandals team. We didn’t have to wait long until we got in a private care and were taken to the resort. Although we arrived before check-in time, our room was ready and we were escorted up in a relatively quick timeframe. We were met by Oshane, who was 1 of our 2 butlers (Dane was the 2nd). Oshane gave us a quick tour and escorted us to our room. Our room was stunning! Very clean and spacious. The housekeeping staff did a really great job during our stay of keeping everything clean and keeping fresh linens and towels stocked for us.

The bed was VERY hard….too hard. I paid almost $4500 total for 5 nights for a bed that literally killed our backs. You’re making a lot of money, so you should be able to put more luxury mattresses in the rooms (especially the millionaire butler room). My back is still sore from sleeping on the mattress for 5 nights. The pillows were also horrible…..pokey, and not comfortable at all. FYI, when we left Jamaica, we went to a Marriott in Orlando, and it was like night and day on the beds….it was incredibly comfortable, and a LOT less expensive.

The grounds were very beautiful and well kept. We really enjoyed stopping to see the Toucans and one of the groundskeepers told us we could give it almonds, so that was a fun treat. I could’ve lived without the airplanes flying overhead so loudly, but I understand that’s due to the proximity to the airport. The beach in front of our room was beautiful, and we really enjoyed floating in the ocean there (except we both got sick, so we were only able to go in the ocean once).

The food was ok, but really just ok. Our butler recommended Oleander (which was pretty decent), and was able to get us reservations for the Steakhouse (which was good). Other than those 2 places, the food was just “ok”. It was nice that you had a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, but again, we expected better food for the amount of $$ we paid. One thing I want to mention was Tokyo Joes. That was one restaurant we really looked forward to trying. While I know that it has GOT to be hot for the chefs behind the grill, our chef was sweating, and his sweat was getting all over our food. He clearly didn’t recognize it, but it really grossed us out. PLEASE invest in fans or A/C or something for them.

The water was shut off for several hours one day which was a problem because we really had to use the restroom, and really wanted to wash off before taking a nap. In addition, the air conditioner was really tough to turn on and off, and even to change the temperature up. We would go out into the hot/humid outdoors and then come in and be freezing in the room. We both got sick on day 2, and 15 days later, I am STILL sick with bronchitis.

We came down for the entertainment one evening after coming back from dinner. It was the couples show which was funny, and the entertainment hosts did a great job hyping up the crowd. The singers after that had wonderful voices, and the entertainment Manager CRUSHED it! He was great, and fun! Part of the reason we chose Sandals Montego Bay was because we heard about the fun entertainment. We must’ve missed it. There was no dancing, which is one of the things we love to do together. Also, the entertainment seemed to start really late. I would recommend maybe starting it a little sooner.

Ok, the butlers and the transportation….. first off, I didn’t originally book a butler room because it seemed extravagant and too expensive. But, a week or so before the deal, I got an email about a room upgrade on sale, and decided to take the opportunity to experience an upgraded room and the butler service for another $450 total or so. I’m really glad I did. Oshane and Dane were great! Oshane is such a nice young man, and we really appreciated his great attitude and his humbleness. One evening, he prepared an amazing bath for us with flower pedals and bubble bath – he had coordinated with our driver from the excursion to Mystic Mountain. That was a really special experience. He always ensured we had afternoon snacks, and was very attentive. Sandals saw something great in that young man, and so did we! Our 2nd butler, Dane was really funny and also ensured we were stocked and ready to go at the beach! These two young men really MADE our trip! Please let them know how much we appreciated their hospitality.

Our driver on the excursion, Delroy was fantastic! He was super friendly and told us all about the island on our way to Mystic Mountain. Our 2nd taxi driver, Devon was AMAZING. What a gentleman! He took us to the market, walked with us, gave us instructions on how to not overspend and to remain safe. He’s a GEM! These two drivers did a fantastic job representing the Sandals brand. I hope they get recognized for their integrity and amazing service.

I’m really disappointed that we had a lack-luster experience with the resort. I know Sandals works hard to maintain a positive brand. I hope you take our feedback as constructive. We wish our experience had been different so we could’ve come back to your resort in the future. We wish you blessings, and nothing but the best of luck.

Since we didn't ever receive a response, I sent a follow up e-mail on 9/19:

I’m genuinely disappointed that Sandals didn’t feel compelled to review and respond to my e-mail that you received (where we were trying to give honest and constructive feedback). Considering the amount of money we have previously spent at Sandals, the lack of response indicates that customer service is clearly not a priority to your organization. Very unfortunate. I will move forward to writing a formal review. Thank you for your time.

Say NO to the wedding!

I’m writing this review because I haven’t even stayed on property yet, and I’m HIGHLY disappointed with the service I’ve received so far. I’m currently planning my October 2026 wedding to take place at this location and it’s been extremely frustrating. We started with having to speak with a wedding concierge to book the event. We had questions about what can be done as far as the ceremony and reception decorations, to which the concierge had VERY limited knowledge. We were advised that we couldn’t speak directly to the wedding planner (who had the answers to our questions) until we paid the $250 non refundable wedding deposit, and were scheduled a telephone appointment to speak with them. We found this out after nearly three weeks of exchanging emails with the concierge and getting partial pieces of information with each email. For example: we were interested in the over the water chapel for our ceremony and were told it’s a $750 up charge. Cool. We were then told the wedding deposit is $250 and any add ons would be added to our wedding invoice that we could make payments toward, with full payment being expected 60 days prior to our arrival. However, when we were attempting to book, we were informed that if we wanted the chapel, FULL payment for the chapel PLUS the wedding deposit would be due at that time. Instead of the $250 we were prepared to pay, the total was $900 just to secure our date and venue. We were also told that weddings occur every hour, on the hour, as we wanted a 4p ceremony time. Only to THEN be told that if we wanted the over the water chapel, the ceremonies are held every two hours, so we would have to change our ceremony time to 1 or 3p. Anything later than that would be an additional $650 “Kiss me at Twilight” fee.

Despite this, we decided that we would move forward because surely the wedding planner would be able to answer our questions and guide us with planning, right?! WRONG! The wedding planner is also outsourced to a third party company and she has to check with the resort for almost every question we’ve asked. I asked for a quote on flower decorations from an inspiration picture I sent on August 25th and I’m still waiting for that quote today (September 22nd). The prices that we are able to view in the decor catalogue are utterly ridiculous with things like a single rose bud costing $90 USD! I’m completely aware they’re in the business to make money but the price tag on the LIMITED items they offer is egregious.

We started contact with the wedding concierge at the end of July and as of today, the only thing we have booked is the wedding package and our room ( no decor, no spa services, no menu, no color selection, NOTHING)! The communication has been inconsistent and response time is lengthy. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that once we got to talk to the planner, we were informed that we would only need a 50% deposit (not the entire $750) for the over the water chapel. Why the change?

We’re currently at an impasse… do we cut our losses, lose our deposits, and start over somewhere else? Or do we hope that the reason we’re receiving such lackluster service is because our wedding is over a year away and things will get better. We have a follow-up appointment with the wedding planner next month (two whole months after our initial appointment), and we will make our decision then.

If you want a stress-free wedding planning experience, Sandals Montego Bay is NOT the place to go! We wanted a destination wedding because we are avid travelers and thought this would best represent our personalities. But oh how I wish I’d looked into other options first!

Paradise

Sandals Montego Bay is a dream! Absolutely a paradise! Just came back from our 2nd trip there and can't wait to go back again. Resort is immaculate, so clean. The food is very good and plentiful and the drinks are so fun. Many great excursions to choose from and the entertainment staff is amazing! Tasha and Davia are such amazing singers and dancers! Amazing women!! So talented!! I can't say enough. Good things about Sandals Montego Bay! Definitely recommend!

Resort was really nice to where we decided to join their club. What a HUGE mistake it is like dealing with a used car salesman or time share. Basically wasted $25,000. So don’t go any where near far joining the club

The butlers, Dalton and Cassandra made it all happen, salt of the earth people who genuinely care about you. The food was great, service was even better. Pro tip: get yourself a private tour with a gentleman named Watson. Truly incredible person that has an infectious love for his country. Definitely will be back.

Top tier customer service, entertainment and ambiance!

I spent my birthday weekend! It was splendid. The food and customer service stood out for me. Special thanks to Tamara and Danielle for the excellent customer service at the Mariners Beach Grill, Natassia at the Jerk Shack who made me feel at home and Shabue also at the Mariners Beach Grill who made my night.
The entertainment was a blast! In addition, of course the ambiance. Will definitely be revisiting soon. ☺️Thank you Sandals Montego Bay for my awesome mini vacation! ❤️

Carlene & Palmer are the best!!

We had the most amazing vacation here! Our butlers Carlene and Palmer made our trip!! They were both so professional, attentive and kind! They go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. Carlene is one of the most positive people we have ever met and she was always one step ahead of our needs! She makes you feel so special! Highly recommend this resort and requesting Carlene and Palmer for your butlers!!

Awesome

My wife and I went to Sandals Montego Bay Jamaica in September 2025. We have been to both Beaches Resorts in Jamaica and Turks and Cacios 3 times . This is our first time at a Sandals resort. It did not disappoint. We were extremely pleased. We stayed in the Crystal Lagoon Honeymoon Ocean View with the soaking tub. The room had everything we needed. Plenty of room which was nice because I had a medical scooter.
Pros:
The food was awesome. My favorite was the Cricketers Pint and the fish and chips. My wife’s was Butch’s Steak & Seafood.
The beach and ocean were pristine. With my mobility issue the floating rings were helpful. The swim up pool bar was fantastic . The bar staff were attentive and made great drinks.
The games at the beach and pool were fun. Every staff member was friendly and helpful.
Some shout outs:
Nicole: We wanted to go on the glass bottom boat. It wasn’t running at Montego Bay that week. Nicole set up a time for us at The Royal Caribbean. We were shuttled over for the boat ride and then went to the private island. It was awesome. We had the pool bar all the ourselves and ate at the Jerk Shack.
Matthew: He set us up on our first day and answered our questions. Every time he saw us, he made sure we had anything we needed.
Hanolon: He was busy cleaning up the grounds but made time to smile and say hi. He really seemed to enjoy his job.
Tamera: Great service every time with our pizza at Dinos.
Rashid. He always came up to us at Bayside to make sure we were taken care of.
Kayla: She came out from the kitchen to ask about our meal. And to make sure we were enjoying it.
Aswaana: She helped us from the front desk figure out what to do when our return flight was delayed and we had to change our plans.
Scheresa. She was terrific at the swim up bar.
All of the bartenders were great! One even made a special shot for my wife’s birthday.
Oshane: He came in to decorate our room for my wife’s birthday. It was a great presentation with signs, cake and candles. He was determined to make it perfect.
Renee: She set up our trip for next year at Royal Bahamian. She spent a lot of time with us and was extremely nice.
Cons:
We did have the water not working in our room for about an hour. They weren’t able to find out why. Another issue was when I turned on the ceiling fan the automatic light went on in the walk in closet which scared the crap out of me.
More floating rings would help.
I know it’s a problem at most resorts, but something has to be done about saving loungers at the beach and pool. I know the butler service does it a lot. But holding a spot when no one shows up is upsetting. There are 14 loungers at the swim up bar. All were being held. We were there for 2 hours and only two couples showed up. Maybe you can have a time the guests are planning on being there and have a sign reserved at a certain time. Your other guests can then enjoy it until that time. It would benefit everyone.
Overall, our stay was amazing, and recommend Sandals Montego Bay to anyone wanting a fun and relaxing vacation.

Disappointed

So currently staying at Montego Bay. Don’t get me wrong the room we have is lovely with amazing ocean views. Beach is gorgeous too. I do think we should have been advised that the main bar is currently closed and two of the restaurants have moved into the other restaurant areas so basically closed. Yesterday was our anniversary, we got married at sandals. One of the bars was closed at 8pm and also the cricketers pub at 11pm ( should be 2am) So unless we wanted to walk again to other side of resort you couldn’t get a drink.
I am very disappointed with what you get for your money. Think this will be the last time we come to a sandals.

Paradise with outstanding service!

Visited Sandals Montego Bay 27th September to 4th October 2025, booked a Club Level, Honeymoon, Ocean View room with Tranquility hot tub, Room 606. The experience & service we received was outstanding, the Staff, Dining experiences & options available were excellent. This was our 3rd Sandals Holiday (other two stays were at Barbados) The management team are always about & visible throughout the day & evening and are always very willing to help with any questions/ queries. There are simply too many names to mention who provided excellent service, The Assistant General Manager, Christopher & his colleague Tudeann were outstanding and couldn’t do enough to help & assist with any queries / requests we had, One of the best Holiday experiences / Service we have ever received, in summary i would definitely recommend Sandals Montego Bay, 5 *****

Amazing Experience At Sandals Montgomery Bay

As always, Sandals is the best! Our Room Service was amazing. Roger, the photographer, was our favorite of anyone in any role. We cannot remember her name, but the young lady at the Aqua Center (paired with Roger) was equally amazing. We went on two snorkeling events, and the “guided tour” of these two people (our first event) was just so much better. If I were to recommend to a friend, I would tell him/her to insist on Roger or wait until he is available.

I’m sorry to say, but I cannot remember my favorite Bar-Tender. She has a hyphenated name ending with “Gay.” I told her (and I meant it) that she was my second most-favorite person in Jamaica. My wife was of course the first. Anyway, she already knew my “go-to” drink and always asked about food and any activity as well. We had the absolute impression that she truly cared.

My favorite entertainer and guest “encourager” was Super Mario. You had several other entertainers but I would say that he was the best.

Different subject: Room/Restaurant/Bar Service. We ordered a simple pot of coffee every morning. Honestly, call - to - delivery was never more than five minutes. We ordered service at other peak times, but never more than a ten-minute delivery. We have not experienced this level of service, all the way around, anywhere else except Sandals. Looking forward to our next visit!

Wedding Expectations Were High, Reality Left Much to be Desired

We went to Sandals Montego Bay for a wedding. We stayed in the Royal Carribean Resort since Montego Bay was full. We were told, upon the sale of the Wedding package, that there was an "on demand" shuttle. This could not have been further from the truth. Getting back and forth from the sister resort was very difficult and we ended up paying for taxi's 90% of the time. Taxi's charge for a couple rate, regardless if you are a single traveler.
It was disappointing that shuttle service was not more accessible. This could have been easily remedied, especially with 5 weddings having been scheduled over this weekend.
For the price, the food quality was marginal. It took an inordinate amount of time to get drinks. We were also denied room service because we did not have a "butler" service. Drink service on the beach at both resorts was non-existent. We were forced to hike to a bar to get drinks throughout our stay. We were sold high quality service and charged for this, however, service was lack luster.
The Wedding planner assigned was wonderful. The spa was under construction so hair and makeup were relocated to a standard room. The space in the room was difficult and it was never "cool" in this room. Our planner did accommodate with a fan, which was nice. The DJ for the reception was great and the staff that was assigned for our private bar experiences was wonderful. Photographers and videographers were amazing and so were the pictures, but again, you are paying a premium for these services. Services that you would expect at an all-inclusive were poor, especially for the amount of money you are paying. Bar service in the resort was slow.

Awesome customer service, beautiful resort. Christopher was awesome - he went above and beyond to source us a pair of pants when we forgot them. (HINT: Bring pants for the steak restaurant!) Thanks again, and respect!
