Relaxation at paradise!

Truly one of the best vacation stays I have ever had! Every single person on that staff made us feel welcome, went above and beyond and treated us like family. They laughed at all my corny jokes and indulged in all my shenanigans- I’m pretty sure I drove most of them a little nuts.

I mostly enjoyed the intimacy and tranquility. I love the non-resort feel and all the nature it encompasses. I felt as if I was lost in paradise. The food was delicious and they offer great variety (make sure to try the parfait at the Lotus Restaurant!)

We will definitely be coming back. This place holds a special place in our hearts.

With love, Shenise & Chamir

Go here if you want a forest oasis retreat.

This resort is exactly like the pictures and more. It is absolutely stunning especially at night with all the sounds of nature around you in a tree utopia. I can’t state enough how magical the place looks sounds and feels at night!

Even when it rains you can lounge on a small bed in the back area of your beautiful private hut and since the roof overhangs the back you don’t get rained on.

The staff are all very friendly as well and we discovered they have goats you can pet too!! Would 1000% go back.

Now the negatives. Being surrounded by a lot of trees and plants, there are a crazy amount of mosquitos. Especially at night, despite the fact that they spray repellant once a day. We couldn’t really go out at night because we weren’t expecting it and never bought bug repellant.

The room we got had cracks in the floor that they havnt sealed, where bugs could crawl in. There was also a minor leak coming from the roof into the room. And we woke up one morning to a giant dead cockroach beside our bed.

Also the entertainment practically doesn’t exist. All they have is two or three different musical groups that rotate throughout the week. And it’s not really a performance more just background music while eating dinner. This is probably the biggest negative to me because I love watching dance shows or water shows ect..

And lastly the beach is not on the resort so you have to cross the street anytime you want beach access. Not a deal breaker or anything, it is just quite inconvenient.

All in all though, the positives vastlyyyyy out weight the negatives. This place is an oasis and easily one of the top 2 or 3 resorts we have been to.

Wonderful resort, magical beach, amazing staff

Having just returned from 2 weeks at SATP, I can honestly say it lives up to the positive reviews, and more.
As you turn into the hotel off the main road you enter an oasis of tranquility and beauty. This is far away from the typical resort with endless rooms, people and noise. The stunning grounds and unique tree house rooms give you the impression of being surrounded by nature. Beautiful birds chirping in the trees who seem completely unfazed by humans and are happy to ‘pose’ for photos. The tree frogs at night lull you to sleep with their chirping.
The main areas, reception, bars and restaurants are of a similar style and continue the atmosphere of tranquility. The thing that makes this resort even more special are the staff. Everyone from the team who care for guests and grounds are the most friendly and approachable people we have ever met. Nothing is too much trouble and, on most occasions, they anticipate your needs before you even ask. It would be remiss to single out anyone by name, because every single person you meet treat you as a friend or family member.
This is not the resort for people who want loud music and constant entertainment. The reggae music is always there in the background, but of a level which enhances your experience. The evening entertainment is low key and suits the resort.
The beach is over the road from the main hotel, however you are safely seen over the road and through the gate to the hotels private beach by security with a constant smile.
On arrival the beach area is stunningly beautiful, with a lagoon style cordoned off section of sea. Staff immediately assist you to select your preferred sun bed, which they the brush off for you and give you fluffy towels and a small table. Around lunchtime you are provided with a flag which you can push into the sand to alert the staff that you are ready to order drinks and food, both of which are delivered to you.
The only slight issue we came across was in relation to food. My husband is coeliac and as such cannot have anything containing gluten. I had made the hotel aware of this prior to arrival via email, and reminded the concierge on check in. Initially we did have some difficulty determining what he could safely eat, however after a conversation with the executive chef, gluten free pancakes and pasta were provided. At one of the weekly cocktail parties my husband spoke to the General Manager Evatt Bloomfield about the provision of gluten free foods and also the labelling of food on the buffet with ingredients to ensure that possible ingredients which could affect those with allergies, both Mr Bloomfield and the Executive Chef informed us that these changes were going to be implemented.
Apart from this small issue, the food is excellent, particularly at the Chef’s Showcase and Lotus Leaf Restaurant.
The hotel staff say that you will be welcomed back as family on a return visit, and we will certainly be doing that.

The People make the Paradise

Let me preface this review by stating that we’ve traveled extensively and tend to be quite critical when it comes to service and food. We typically don’t return to the same place twice—but in this case, we absolutely would return to **Sunset at the Palms**.

When friends ask, “How was Jamaica?” my first response is: *the people made it*. You can find sun and beautiful beaches in many places, but it’s the people who truly make the experience unforgettable.

We wish we had captured every name, because so many individuals made our stay incredible. Here’s our best attempt—short and sweet:

- **Jason (or Jimmy—whatever you call yourself!)** – Thank you for keeping our wine glasses full and spirits high.
- **Nevado** – Whether it was your big smile, wave, great music, or mango martinis, you excelled.
- **Shirlene** – I’m glad we got to share your birthday. I hope next time *they* make *you* dinner! Your sincerity and warmth were always appreciated.
- **Damion** – Thank you for making our beach days fun and full of entertainment.
- **Odine** – Always greeting us with a smile—thank you.
- **Chef Michael** – Accolades to you and your team. From dinner to beachside lunches, the food was outstanding, and the character of your staff shone through.
- **Andrica** – A true ray of sunshine who kept us laughing, dancing, and simply happy to be around.

The food was excellent from breakfast to dinner. Take your time at dinner and truly enjoy the experience. Grab a glass of wine and walk the resort at night. Slow down… be thankful… with so many positive experiences, you have no choice.

Stop scrolling - you found paradise so book in!!

We visited SATP for 10 days from 6th September and really loved everything about the hotel - as many others have stated the staff absolutely do make this place but I won’t focus in on singling anyone out especially when it’s been highlighted in many previous reviews.

Location
Negril is beautiful - it’s not as touristy as Montego Bay and we really liked that - the only but would be that because of its quieter, more laid back environment, there are not that many excursions to do locally, some of the tours are a bit further out so you will spend time travelling to and from the trip you choose. That said, Negril & the surrounding area of the resort, is beautiful enough to make you not want to travel far!

Resort
This place is breathtaking! If you want a true rainforest experience look no further, and expect to enjoy a really personal, private holiday in a small resort where loud, lively entertainment and animation teams are not the thing! We absolutely loved this element and it’s this that will make us return I am sure.

On that, many many guests have visited SATPs multiple times because they treat returning guests so well, with ‘Returners’ dinners, special wristbands, extra treats and perks - it’s so considered & isn’t something we’ve seen before.

The environment is divine! Hummingbirds on your patio, frog and bird song to send you to sleep & wake you, the natural soundtrack of the rainforest during your spa treatments, the vendors on the beach - all of it is just amazing!

The accommodation
The individual cabins add to the private, couples experience, they are comfortable and the bathroom is very spacious. If I had to critique the cabins I’d say they are nearing the point of an upgrade and as we spread out a lot a bit more space in the bedroom area would have been nice.

The food was repetitive as others have said - we have small appetites so this didn’t bother us at all, the quality was great but perhaps the selection limited - I suspect as it’s a low occupancy hotel, they can’t cook the large variation as there would likely be wastage.

Every interaction with hotel staff was a joy!

It’s a very casual place - don’t overpack your best holiday gear, as dinner is relaxed and not at all dressy.

The beach is a 5 min walk across a road - no biggie & it’s a stunning beach, we considered it to be the best along the coast,. Beds are always available- only very minor complaint might be that security need to be ‘on it’ a bit faster to police the beach as you do get passer-by’s stop to admire & then experience, when you have paid to have a private beach it’s a bit disappointing to see those who haven’t paid for that to enjoy it but I know that sounds a bit mean!!

Weather
We experienced a few heavy downpours during our stay - maybe 3 or 4 storms - but whilst it’s a heavy dump of rain, it’s fairly short lived and honestly, just another unique experience in the rainforest! It was humid though - imagine Monica in Friends ‘it’s the humidity!’ so ladies find your hair products as the hotel hairdryer is a bit rubbish!!

Overall we loved it here - the ‘complaints’ are v insignificant because it’s pretty much paradise here, stop looking now & book in!

Another Awesome Week at Sunset At The Palms!

Sunset At The Palms!
You come as guests… leave as friends… and return as family. Back for the third time!
The beach is unbeatable! Kevon and Jovaine greet us by name! We so appreciate their care of the beach - and us! Lunch at the beach is the BEST! Johannes, Demari, and Jadine are expert cooks! A BIG thank you to Oshane who taught us how to make Jamaican food, and a HUGE thank you to Patrey, the bartender, who kept us happy every afternoon!!
Back at the resort area, every employee aims to please! Johannes and Kayla share the prize for amazing omelettes, and Sylon and Carsell most incredible made-to-order pastas! Don’t miss Chef Showcase, (best meal at The Palms) or Lotus Leaf! Anywhere you eat, you will find a favorite food and delightful servers such as Jamika, the singing server, and Andrica, always with a flower in her hair!
Other unforgettable moments: Welcome Back Dinner, Britney’s Mixology Class (yummy Yellow Bird!), Massage Therapists Sherice and Devina, and the Maintenance Crew (for showing the Monday Night Football Game on the large screen TV). See you all again next year!!

Perfect

I hesitate to write this because I really want to keep this paradise to myself. The beach, the room, the people, the food was all perfect (and I'm a very picky eater, chicken and beef mainly). We will have a very hard decision to make now - do we go other places to experience more cultures, or come back to this piece of paradise.

Charming and relaxing vacation

We absolutely adored our stay at the SATP. The rooms are private, surrounded by lush vegetation. Very friendly staff. Shout out to Jadene, Bianca and Amanda, Chef Shane, Jason, Nadine, Tameika, Betty the goat and the great Piano Paul! The beach is within a bay which makes it very calm. The only very small disappointment was the food which didn't meet the expectations set by the photos, but it was very good nonetheless. Would definitely recommend and go book there again.

Honeymoon at Sunset at the Palms

We just got back Wednesday from the most beautiful honeymoon we could have imagined. The treehouse-style rooms were absolutely gorgeous, tucked away in lush greenery that made every morning feel like waking up in paradise. The pools were pristine and wonderfully quiet, giving us the perfect place to unwind together.

Everywhere we looked, you could see how much care and love goes into this resort. Lynford and Jacob, the gardeners, take such pride in their work, and it shows in every vibrant flower and perfectly kept path. We highly recommend the gardeners tour. Nadine was an absolute gem — always smiling, making the best drinks, and sharing her knowledge about the food, animals, and Jamaica with such warmth.
Lorien and Jason were incredible servers who made every meal feel special, and Erica, our housekeeper, kept our room spotless while brightening our days with her laughter and kindness. The entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel like family.

We’d 10/10 recommend the Chef’s Showcase — seriously, don’t miss it! The food was absolutely amazing, each course better than the last, and you could tell the chefs put so much heart into every dish. The flavors were incredible and so fresh, and the whole vibe was cozy and romantic. It ended up being one of our favorite nights of the trip and something we’ll definitely be talking about for a long time.

The beach was stunning — soft sand, calm waves, and sunsets that seemed to pause time. We even met some of the nicest people also vacationing there, making new memories and friendships along the way.

Sunset at the Palms has truly become our new home away from home. The weather was warm and humid, and we were treated to the most breathtaking lightning storms — the kind you’ll never forget. It was everything we could have dreamed of and more. We’re already counting down the days until we can return to our little slice of paradise.

Can’t wait to go back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sunset at the Palms – A True Jamaican Gem!

My stay at Sunset at the Palms was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The resort itself is a tropical paradise — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and full of that authentic Jamaican charm.

The staff truly made the experience unforgettable. A special shout-out to Lynette in the Gift Shop, who was so kind and helpful every time I stopped by. In the dining room, Jayson, Andrice, and Claudette went above and beyond to make every meal feel special. Their warm smiles and outstanding service made me look forward to every dining experience.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the entire team made me feel like family. You can really tell they take pride in what they do.

I can’t recommend Sunset at the Palms enough — it’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy amazing service, and soak up the beauty of Negril. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Quiet and relaxing vacation

First of all I like that the bellman basically come to the car to take our bags. Jamey was fantastic. He was the first person that greeted us when we arrived . Our front desk/ concierge agent Aneisha was very informative and pleasant. She showed us around and since our room was not ready upon arrival she took us to lunch. I must say lunch was ok but I did not like what they call jerk chicken. Our room was ready after we ate and I must say it was beautiful. I loved the treehouse cabin vibes it was giving. On our first morning we woke up for breakfast which was good. Margaret the chef was amazing she made my omelet which was delicious. We spent the rest of the day relaxing at the beach which was private and felt like nothing else mattered. We had lunch from the restaurant on the beach which was good. Our server I forgot her name was friendly and amazing. We had dinner at Lotus on our second night and our server Lorraine was so nice and made our experience a memorable one.The food was also good. The next day lunch was not good as we waited what felt like an hour to actually get our food. Based on my observations housekeeping comes too late in the afternoon to give service and I don’t like the turndown service they provide. Fun tip whenever you offer turndown service please have the room attendant tidy up as well, the bed looked awful. Being in the hospitality industry myself I know what turndown service is. Our room attendant Lavern did a great job when she cleaned our room. I appreciated how she actually detailed the room and her towel art was pretty awesome. On the first night we asked the turndown lady to remove the coke from our fridge and stock sprite however that was not done, Lavern actually got us sprite on our last day which felt great. Friday night we had dinner at the chef’s showcase I think it was ok not what I expected however the appetizer was my favorite and the dessert as well. I almost forgot the mention our server for breakfast Ms. Claudette. She knew all that I wanted when I came by. Overall this hotel is relaxing and I think it caters more to the older folks because not much entertainment was offered here. I would recommend and maybe return in the future.

An unforgettable stay

We had the pleasure of spending two wonderful weeks at this beautiful resort.
From the very beginning, we felt comfortable and well taken care of. Check-in was smooth, and even though we arrived very late, we were greeted with a prepared meal in our room.
Our late check-out was also no problem at all — we were even allowed to keep our room until the afternoon.

The resort itself is very natural and authentic, yet still beautifully maintained.
Our room was spotless, designed in a charming rustic style with a modern bathroom.

The beach is separated from the hotel by a road, but that’s absolutely no issue — security staff accompany you safely across.
There are plenty of sunbeds and shaded spots available, which the staff gladly prepare for you.
The beach and the sea are perfectly clean, and although there are several hotels along the beach, you still have your own quiet stretch of beach to enjoy.

The absolute highlight of this hotel is the staff. Everyone is incredibly warm, helpful, and genuinely caring — it truly feels like being part of a small family.
A special shoutout to Andrice, who made us smile every single day with her wonderful energy!

We will definitely come back — thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable stay!

Wonderful stay, exceeded expectations

We had an 11 day stay at Sunset at the Palms from the last week of September into the first week of October. We had a delayed flight in, arriving quite late at night. On arrival we were greeted and were shown to our room very promptly by Ainsworth, a polite and friendly young man. The resort had put away a plate of food each for us due to our late arrival and this was brought to our room whilst we unpacked. We found this to be a thoughtful touch and was a good start in terms of the service we received. As our stay went on this good start was exceeded on so many levels. We found staff to be genuinely friendly; not one member of staff failed to greet us as we passed around the resort, and all took the time to help with a smile on their face. So many examples of staff who went above and beyond:

• Linford & Jason (gardeners) taking the time to explain the various plantings and offering coconuts that had just fallen off the trees
• Housekeeping – Laverne kept our room spotless as well as decorated with brilliant towel art.
• Claudette, Andre & Tamika (amazing singer as well as waitress) and all the servers checking that everything was ok, topping up drinks and always a friendly word or joke.
• Damian & all the lifeguards for sorting out the cabanas and advising on possible trips – had a great snorkel trip through them.
• The reception staff who dealt with any enquiry or issue – sorry no names but you were all brilliant.
• Patrick, Britney and all the bar staff – prompt, friendly and willing to try to make cocktails not on the menu and to recommend drinks or brands based on our preferences.
• The cooking staff. All the staff were talented and dedicated. I particularly enjoyed Chef Shane’s cooking demonstrations on the beach immensely, both the detailed explanations as well as the eating of it. Delicious.
• Security staff. Saw us safely across the road between resort and beach area and always asked how our day had been. We always felt safe on the beach – visible security who did challenge people who strayed off the public area. We felt completely secure leaving belongings at the cabanas whilst in the water.
So staff were superb. Other aspects:

Food

The buffet meals were generally good. Breakfast was a mix of standard buffet hot foods and cereals, cold meats, cheese and fruits with a daily Jamaican hot breakfast selection too. Lunch is al la carte on both the resort and beach bar. Food there was good, recommend the burgers, club sandwich and specials (which changed daily).
Evening meals were either buffet or a booked meal (I’ll explain that later) except Wednesday when there is a BBQ option for everyone. The buffet theme changed daily. There was scope for a four course meal (starter, soup, entrée and dessert) and the range was reasonable. One improvement I would suggest is some sort of indication on level of spice/heat on the description of the dish. This would certainly have helped me select courses without asking the staff all the time. The booked meal option was either a la carte in the Lotus Leaf or the Chef’s showcase. These ran on different days and had to be booked through reception. The Lotus Leaf had a fixed menu of three starter, 2 soups, 2 salads, around 10 entrée and 4 desserts. The food we had there was excellent, well presented and very delicious. Service was first rate too. The Chef’s showcase in many ways I felt was the star of the show, but not just because of the food which was always excellent. It was a fixed menu but different each time. What made it stand out for me was that the chef’s preparing each course were in the early stages of their careers and this was their opportunity to showcase their talents and meals. This shows a willingness on the resort’s part to develop and support their staff which reflects so positively on them.

Resort, grounds & beach

The resort grounds are beautiful, well kept but not in a manicured formal way. You have the sense of being in the tropics not a garden. The wildlife is varied – we enjoyed watching hummingbirds feed whilst laying in bed (don’t forget to ask for a feeder from reception) as well as spotting other birds and lizards etc as we walked around. The resort buildings and facilities are generally well maintained and kept very clean – the beach restrooms are among the nicest I have ever seen! The beach is beautiful and well maintained; always free from rubbish and raked for leaves etc from the trees that line it. The water was crystal clear, excellent visibility and warm and clean. Snorkelling off the beach is limited to passing wildlife as there is no real seaweed or habitat but I still saw rays, various fish and starfish off the beach.

Entertainment

The resort clientele tended to be 30+ with most being 50+ but also there were a few younger couple who were honeymooning there. There was always some form of evening entertainment that catered for a range of interests. Unless you are more into foam parties and the party resort vibe then there was something to engage you, even if it was just a quiet drink or board game with others. It is a place you go to relax, and the feel of the resort reflected this. We gravitated to the Martini piano bar where Paul played four times a week. Lovely man, brilliant entertainer and piano player. Didn’t miss seeing and singing along with him once whilst there. Staff joined in with songs when passing – that’s how we know Tamika has an amazing voice! Only wished that the piano was more in tune but given it is the tropics I know how difficult it is to keep them tuned. Top tip, be brave and sit at the piano and enjoy the banter and singing along no matter how bad you are – I crushed American Pie whilst sitting there, although some may say ruined as I can’t sing 😊 but we enjoyed it all the same.

So no surprise that I would thoroughly recommend the resort if you are looking for place to escape and relax, to meet lovely people and to be made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.

Holiday of a lifetime, honestly

Holiday of a lifetime, honestly!
The Palms is everything you would expect from the brochure, the reviews and the website, I cannot describe well enough this Jamaican Paradise.
The resort is beautiful, lush tropical forest surrounds the whole site, Hummingbirds flit between the trees feeding off the stunning flowers planted along the paths between rooms.
The rooms are fabulous, well equipped and spacious, more than enough for two, clean and tidy and well serviced, and yes they are on stilts 2m off the ground!
The pool is perfectly sized for the number of guests, never crowded and always a lounger available at any time, not forgetting the swim up pool bar which has some killer cocktails and Red Strip on tap. The pool bar doubles as the entertainment area most evenings with local reggae bands and Karaoke - yes apparently I did a few songs but that night was a little hazy!!
The cocktail bar is very good, a range of 10-12 Martinis as a speciality and other spirits on tap, all good quality branded types too, don't miss the piano man most nights who is brilliant, despite a piano in need of a tune up!
The food was excellent, don't expect a vast array of dishes - your not at the Rui Palace after all, I enjoyed a freshly made omelette most mornings, cold meats and cheeses, loads of fresh fruit and pancakes/waffles, added to this were the local dishes of Salt fish and Ackee, callaloo and many more - delicious.
Evening meals were outstanding, with themed nights for BBQ, Jamaican food etc, don't miss the curry goat.
We dined at the Lotus restaurant 4 times, all excellent, the chef's showcase was delicious (twice) as was the special menu - especially the red snapper.
The beach bar was excellent, great drinks similar to the pool bar, brilliant staff who always had a welcoming smile, we ate lunch there every day, I think I had mostly jerk chicken which was excellent, Thursdays had a chef come down and demonstrate a local dish on the beach, thanks Shane, brilliant display of expertise and excellent food, again I think the battered fish with smashed plantain was outstanding.
The beach, short walk over the road - no drama - was swept daily and is exactly like the pictures, absolutely perfect with fine sand and crystal waters, as a musician I loved the odd busker walking by and dropping a couple of tunes for a tip, not intrusive at all and adds to the charm of the place.
What sets Sunset at the palms apart from any other place I have been is the staff, they are genuinely lovely people, always happy to help, always with a smile and they really do make the place a joy to visit

The best vacation I have ever had, period!

I was skeptical about this resport but it was adults only and I figured the wife and I should give it a try as we had a free week through our exchange program. I typically have a hard time relaxing as both my wife and I have our own independent businesses and we work for ourselves. I would stay at Sunset again and again.

What a fantastic place to visit. From the moment we got into the vehicle to transport us back to the resort I felt relaxed. The driver was amazing, his name was Ian. A pleasure to talk to and very informative. He even asked if we needed to get anything en route so that we could stop and take care of it. The entire trip was just like this.

Once we arrived at the resort, we were taken such great care of and every request was dealt with expeditiously. The concierge was able to schedule some outings for us and we didn't have to waste any time on the phone or trying to set things up. They took care of everything. We had lunch with Betty, swam with dolphins, went on a river cruise and of course, sat on the beach and did some shopping to boot.

Our room was gorgeous. The resort is older, but no kids and the bungalo's being on stilts in the trees gives it a special feel. I have never stayed anywhere so beautiful and peaceful which is probably why I had such an easy time relaxing. The A/C worked great and the room was cleaned and taken well care of every day.

The resort was fantastic and every single person was accommodating. Even the grounds keeper took us on an expedition through the resort and told us about all of the plants and trees.

Do yourself a favor and book this place right now. You'll be so glad you did.

Beautiful Place with lovely People

This is our second visit here, and it gets better with each visit. The atmosphere here is second to none, and you basically feel like you are with friends everywhere you go. It’s a fairly small resort as far as the number of people, and the experience day after day is wonderful. The food is excellent, the staff is so friendly and helpful, and everyone just lets you enjoy your time there. Shout out to Krystal and Jamey with concierge, Jason on the wait staff, and Shirlene at the pool bar as they are all truly amazing and made us sad to leave. Thank you Sunset at the Palms for another amazing vacation.

The best hotel and holiday experience ever

Went for my once in a lifetime holiday. Was not disappointed with anything. Outstanding staff, location, food, drink and rooms.
Rooms on stilts so about 10 steps to go up but not a real issue. Rooms were clean, neat, tidy and had a minibar and fridge to use, which was topped up daily with water beer and coke. Plenty of towels in bathroom and always spotless.
All rooms had air con set and ran constantly unless you turned off or up yourself.
Tea coffee etc in room was good although missed milk but had creemer sachets, nice touch of home made biscuits.
Balcony had table and chairs with a separate day bed. I would not advise puting clothes out to dry as humidity just makes them warm and damp.
The rooms even had umbrellas for those rain showers so you could still get to dinner etc without getting wet !!!
I was treated and felt like one of the family. My name was used by everyone there which made me feel valued from the time i was signed in to leaving. The hotel exceeded my expectations and being solo did not at any point feel unsafe. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone to enhance your stay. The beach was stunning. It was clean tidy and the service from the beach staff was just as amazing as in the hotel. There were plenty of sunbeds all day and a friendly vibe to match. The crystal clear warm water was too hard to ignore and was lovely that other residents were all happy to chat and share experiences. Beach food made to order was superb and much better than a long buffet to pick from. You have got to try the jerk chicken pitta special .. its smazing ... with chips or onion rings . The chefs were superb along with the bar staff.
The security to show you across the road to the beach were chatty and happy to talk to you, remaining professional but with thier infectious smiles and pride in thier work, which made a change from grumpy guards back home.
Hotel pool was clean tidy and always beds available as most people used the beach during my stay, so being honest can't say much about that area.
Food every night was different enough to choose from with Jamaican classics thrown in that were the best, from jerk chicken, pork, oxtail, curried goat, rice and peas you just could not beat it. Theme nights were just as special but chefs night was the better of the 2 only for the chefs not the food quality as that was exceptional the whole stay.
I said once in a lifetime but have a feelin I'll be back for more good vibes, great food, amazing venue and Outstanding staff...I love you sunset at the palms .
Thank you for an amazing, outstanding unforgettable, just perfect stay xxx

One Love

We’ve just returned from our first visit to Jamaica and loved it
The staff make this place, always friendly and genuinely want you to have the best experience
The resort feels you are in nature with the beautifully maintained gardens and tree house style bungalows, which were well equipped and serviced. Very much reminded us of the resorts we have stayed in Thailand
The food is good if not repetitive with the a la carte dining, but perfectly acceptable and drinks always replenished.
We didn’t use the pool area often, preferring the beach across the road, gorgeous sandy beach with warm sea water.
The only negative, and one that wouldn’t stop us returning, the evening entertainment could have been varied with genres of music. Paul on the piano with exception, you were great!
If you’re looking for an independent hotel with a personal touch and not the chain same fave hotels then I would recommend without exception
We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful holiday - one love!

Relaxing resort with the best people!

What can I say about SATP? It was glorious with amazing, friendly staff. We were two couples traveling together for a relaxing week.

If you're looking for a party resort, this is not it. If you want to get pressured to join aquacise, poolside bingo, or volleyball, this is not the place. If you want a calm, relaxing resort, where you can go at your own pace surrounded by friendly staff who aim to please this IS your place.

The rooms are not super modern but they are clean and well kept. It feels like a jungle getaway. The bed is so comfortable. Our room was kept clean and our fridge stocked with ice cold water, beer, and pop.

There is no towel or beach chair drama. There was always plenty of clean towels at the beach and pool, and always a place to sit, regardless of the time of day.

The buffets are not huge, nor should they be because it's a smaller resort. The quality of everything in the buffet was great. For breakfast there is someone there to prepare eggs in whatever style you want. My husband loved the omelets. There is no lunch buffet, which may matter to some folks. I was happy to have a la carte for lunch to avoid overeating at a buffet. Whether at the beach or at the dining room, it was consistently delicious.
The a la carte restaurants were amazing. The food was top notch and I enjoyed it all.
Drinks were great, nothing was watered down at all.
The coffee bar is fantastic. Great drinks and you honestly can't beat the Blue Mountain coffee they serve.

Yes, like it says in other reviews, the beach is across the street. This was a non issue for us. In reality, it's still a shorter walk to the beach than at larger resorts!
The beach was lovely with flag service for lunch, and someone always greeted us to get us a spot and chairs in sun or shade, whatever we preferred.

I cannot wait to return to SATP.

I don't think I've ever acknowledged staff at a resort, but I have to shout out to the following staff:
Brittney is the friendly face that greeted us at the pool bar when we first arrived and were waiting for our room to be ready (we were there early). She made the BEST drinks and always called us by name. Our last night there she got us a second round without us even having to ask. Brittney is our girl.

Jason - cheese and rice!! - in the restaurants was so funny and attentive. He always took care of us and made sure we had whatever we wanted (and ladies first, of course!)

Shannon was our breakfast and lunch queen. The first morning we asked for coffee and mimosas and for the rest of the trip she remembered it each morning! She was so fast with beach lunch! I read other reviews saying they waited long for lunch on the beach but that was not at all our experience.

Irie the piano man. What a gem of a man. So engaging and talented. I could watch him play and sing for hours - you can tell he truly loves music and what he does.

Finally, last but not least, Ericka kept our room immaculate.

Thank you to everyone at SATP. We will be back! Ya mon!
