Went for my 55th birthday you must go to the restaurant Potofino and have Christian as your waiter !!! Such a fabulous dinner and service excellent - when he sings you happy birthday it’s the best !!!!!

Nightly sunsets from our rooms balcony!

Beautiful resort. Our 5th time. 7 nights each time. Wine and food at ALL our meals and ALL the restaurants was EXCELLENT. Service every where was 5 star. Beautiful accommodations. House keeping excellent. Daily. Loved our room. The Gym is clean and we went every day. Great air conditioning! Daily Yoga classes offered on a beau tiful deck overlooking the Ocean was SPECTACULAR and a wonderful way to begin each day. Black flag from the life guard prevents access to beach. A very strong undertow. We loved using the Palapas every afternoon watching the waves crash and dramatic sounds of the Sea of Cortez. We are returning Spring and Fall 2026.

Disappointing stay — cleanliness and service far below 5-star standards

Our group stayed here for a family celebration and booked Preferred Club rooms through Unlimited Vacation Club. Despite verbal confirmation, our rooms were processed incorrectly, and upon arrival we were told we would not have Preferred Club access due to their internal booking error. The Preferred Club was at 90% capacity (not full), yet staff still refused to honor our confirmed reservations or offer a reasonable solution.

Cleanliness was another major concern — there was visible mold and water damage throughout the halls, cockroaches in Building 2, and mold growing inside the room service coffee pot. I’ve attached photos and have additional videos documenting these issues.

When I showed the on-site Unlimited Vacation Club representative that presidential suites were still available online, she dismissed the evidence, told me I was wrong, and made a rude comment implying I couldn’t afford the room.

Overall, this experience was far from Hyatt’s expected standards. I’d be happy to share photos and videos with Hyatt or Unlimited Vacation Club if they’d like to review the issues or retrain staff.

Fabulous Girls' Trip Getaway!

We had a wonderful experience! A great girls' trip! Jessica, Beatriz, Luis and the Preferred staff were wonderful. Additionally, all of the Spa staff were professional and courteous and made us feel very special!

Secrets Cabo is top notch!

Secrets in Cabo was much better than expected! My husband and I went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and had such a good time! The food was great, the pool was my favorite place (and I am not a pool person), the service was always friendly and patient with requests. Security at the resort made us feel completely safe at any time of day or night. Delmar, the aqua spin class instructor, was AMAZING! He was funny and lively, and gave us a great workout that was fun. I really can't say enough good things about our experience.

Secrets Is Our Happy Place

This is our sixth visit to a Secrets property, and our second at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos. We are loyal to the Secrets brand because it offers us exactly what we're looking for: an all-inclusive, adults-only vacation that is more quiet relaxation than party, with gracious service and good food. Every aspect of our experience this time was perfect.

The aspect of the resort that contributed the most to our positive experience was our swim-out pool, which we shared with 9 other rooms. We spent at least 5-7 hours in our swim-out pool per day. Here's a tip: Because servers do not visit the swim-out pools to deliver food and drinks, very few people who reserve the swim-out rooms really take full advantage of the pool. So if you're willing forego the alcohol delivery (you can get a mixed drink at any of the resort bars and bring it to your room, or take advantage of the bottles of beer in your minifridge, if that's your thing), get a swim-out room and enjoy a peaceful, quiet, almost entirely-private pool to yourself accessible directly out the back door of your room. Bring your own floaties from home. Our swim-out pool in Building 2 with a "garden view" actually offered a vista of beautiful palm trees and verdant bushes, hummingbirds dipping into the flowers, butterflies of every shape and color, hawks gliding through cloudless blue skies, and three different iguanas, with a little sliver of the ocean visible beyond the tops of the buildings. We are grateful to all the members of the staff who worked behind the scenes to keep our pool clean and functioning well. The swim-out pool was the crown jewel our vacation.

We also found the food and the service to be fantastic. We ate at the Market Cafe buffet for breakfast every morning. All the servers were wonderful, but the standout was Candido. Don't miss the Mexican hot chocolate and fresh tropical papaya. We also enjoyed the made-to-order omelets and French toast, and the daily rotation of fruit juices.

We ate three times at Portofino. Again, the service was universally excellent, but our favorite was the very charming Christian. I think we tried almost every dish on the menu through the course of our three visits, and the ones we liked the best were the gnocchi and the shrimp fettuccini. I would also like to express our gratitude to the server Elvis, who noticed that we were trying to get a picture of ourselves with the sunset behind us on the Portofino balcony and immediately volunteered to help us.

We also ate three times at El Patio. The level of service was very high, but the best was Bruno. We like everything we ordered at El Patio, and the highlights were the quesabirria with broth and the churros.

We stopped at the Coco Cafe more than once every day to avail ourselves of their salads, pastries, and cold bottles of water, available 24 hours per day. We also ordered room service three or four times, and it was convenient to order through the Hyatt Inclusive app and request plate pickup via the Secrets Box. Our favorite dishes from room service were the chicken rice soup, the nachos, and the Basque cheesecake. And while we're talking about the app, we also really appreciated the ability to request housekeeping through the app. That worked out very well with our schedule, and the housekeepers did a good job keeping our room and the whole resort clean.

We didn't spend any time in the main pool (too loud and busy for the vacation experience we wanted to have), and it was too hot and humid to spend much time at the ocean, although since last we visited in 2022, they have added a nice wooden deck so you can recline on a beach chair directly overlooking the crashing ocean (do NOT go in the ocean, it's too dangerous at this location!) without getting sandy. We didn't avail ourselves of the spa or any of the evening entertainments such as casino night, karaoke night, or watching American football at the sports bar, nor did we take any excursions off the resort. It just wasn't how we wanted to spend our vacation time--but it's great that such things are offered at Secrets for folks whose tastes are different from ours.

You can tell from all my superlatives that we love Secrets and we loved our stay at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos. So many members of the staff worked so hard to make sure our vacation was memorable, and they succeeded. We will most certainly be back.

3rd time visiting will be our last...

This hotel has majorly gone downhill. This was our third visit and very likely our last. We had great experiences there in the past, so we were excited to invite a group of almost 35 of our friends to go there with us to celebrate our wedding. And we encouraged them to pay for the preferred access to make sure we got upgraded services. This was all a big waste of money. The hotel is over crowded with barely any pool seating available. The preferred fee gets you nothing but access to preferred lounge which has zero premium drinks (they were ALWAYS out of top shelf alcohol). And the one pool that was for preferred guests was always over run with people who were not in preferred category. Overall, we were sooooo disappointed and frankly embarrassed that we asked our 30 guests to pay the upgrade. Likely not going back, ever.

The staff were all quite nice. They felt helpless in trying to accommodate us. The management has killed the vibe of this hotel.

Not A Four Star Expereince

During our stay, we experienced other issues that truly detracted from the property and the luxury experience we expected.

1. The air conditioner stopped working on our third day. The staff questioned me as if I didn't understand how to use the thermostat. After I insisted she send someone, they did, and the maintenance worker came and repaired the problem by accessing the blower unit in the ceiling. There was indeed an issue, but I was made to feel as if I was complaining about something I didn't understand.

2. The toilet did not flush properly. Maintenance was called to look at the issue, and he was able to flush the remaining waste down, but we were never able to flush waste down with one flush and had to flush multiple times in order to get just toilet paper to flush.

3. No snacks were provided in the minibar, whereas other Secrets resorts provided nuts, M&Ms and Pringles, as well as drinks in the fridge. The Secrets properties should be consistent and for the same class of hotel room.

4. Room service didn't offer alcoholic drinks to non-preferred club members.

5. The drinks did not contain much (or quality) alcohol.

6. You could not order food-- only drinks--at the beach overlook at the Barracuda Bar.

7. It felt like many of the staff were obviously waiting for a tip, even though, as an all inclusive, tipping is not expected, unless you want to show appreciation.

8. The Himatsu restaurant lacked any element of enjoyment. The wait time was 1 hour, my Sea Bass was not seasoned, my friend's tuna tartar was mushy- as was the sushi- and the service was horrendous. If I had been at a non resort restaurant with this level of service, I would have spoken to the manager. Our waiter did not seem concerned with our complaints or (lack of) quality of service.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend this resort or visit it again.

Excellent trip with friends

Great trip with another couple. We have been to this resort 5 times. The hotel and grounds are immaculate. Great ocean view room. The pool was a big hit, Leo and Juan took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed.

We had a fantastic experience. The food was really good. The resort is beautiful! The pool was a little dirty.

I wish I would have known that there was no beach access. The amount of activities is limited. Not much to do on the resort. The resort itself is beautiful. The staff is amazing! The food was really good! The pool was a little dirty, it cold have been cleaner. The staff at the pool were great- but the wait time for drinks was a little long. We did tip- but it didn't matter how much, the wait time was still the same.

Let's go fishing!

The property is very accommodating and comfortable. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. We were there to fish the Sea of Cortez so the location next to the CSJ marina was ideal. The staff allowed us to store/freeze our catch and would allow for dinner preparation also. Overall it was a fun experience to be on this property.

IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER!!!

My wife and I traveled to this Fantastic Resort for a 5 day vacation we were sharing with 3 other couples. Every staff member was wonderful, put in particular I wanted to mention the very helpful Concierges, Vasicine and Brenda, our server at the La Patio restaurant, Diego and cook Francisco. I particularly want to thank the Resort General Manager, Daniele Franco for making our dining experience extra special!

Great hotel, good staff

This is a good property if you want to stay away from the main party area of Los Cabos which we did. The pool is great, the staff is attentive and all restaurants are mostly good. We are vegetarians but still found decent food options. All restaurants are very accommodating and try and accommodate any food allergies/requirements your might have. There are a lot of activities you can choose from or choose to do nothing. The rooms are getting little old but the staff seems to be on top of it with the upkeep. Property is clean and well maintained.
It is far from almost everything, no shops, stores or restaurants are in walking distance so keep that in mind. It did not affect us much as we found what we needed in the hotel.

Well managed resort with outstanding staff and facilities, but no beach access.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos is a well managed resort with excellent grounds, rooms, pools and facilities. Staff were outstanding, and much effort put into available activities. The resort is beginning to show its age with worn flooring in areas, and its location is far enough out of the town that a taxi is necessary to visit somewhere out of resort. Also, because of beach erosion, the beach is some 35 ft below the resort and not accessible from the resort.

There are better resorts in Cabo

Not comparable to Secrets Playa del Carmen. Cons - Workers outside room talking and making noise at 4 am. Front desk no help. No liquor in mini-fridge - only available for "preferred" guests. Below average breakfast buffet with runny eggs and watery refried beans. No specialty liquors at bars, just cheap or average brands. 50 min. massage cut short. Pros - staff is overall very friendly and accommodating; clean rooms; very good entertainment at pool and bars; excellent food and service at the dinner restaurants. Overall, a nice but not great stay.

Perfect Honeymoon at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos!

We had the most incredible honeymoon at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos and are already planning our return! We stayed in a Swim-Out Master Suite in Building 8, the only true oceanfront building — and it was worth every penny. The view was breathtaking, the pool felt completely private, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was so relaxing.

Preferred Club — 100% Worth It

If you can upgrade, do it. The Preferred Club completely elevated our stay. The rooms are in the best locations, you get access to the oceanfront infinity pool (quiet and serene), a private check-in experience with drinks, and access to Oceana for breakfast — which became our favorite morning spot for both food and the view. The Preferred lounge also had amazing staff, snacks all day, comfortable seating, and they always had the NFL or big sports events on. We will absolutely book Preferred again.

The Resort

The resort grounds are stunning and extremely well-maintained, and the property feels very safe with double-gated access. We tried both main pools but preferred the Preferred Club pool for the relaxing vibe and ocean views. While the beach isn’t swimmable, the beach bar seating is a great spot to take in the scenery. There are also lounge chairs and umbrellas to enjoy the oceanfront view.

Food & Drinks

Service across the resort was consistently excellent — truly 10/10 everywhere we went.
• Himitsu was our favorite dining experience. Definitely book the hibachi — great food and such a fun, memorable night.
• Oceana (Preferred breakfast) was our top breakfast spot — delicious and peaceful with gorgeous views.
• Portofino and El Patio had beautiful ambiance; food was pretty good but the atmosphere made the experience.
• Seaside Grill and Barefoot Grill were our go-tos for lunch. Great tacos and burgers.

We also ordered a lot of room service because we loved our suite so much. Favorites: pizza, quesadillas, club sandwich and burgers!

Our Room

We absolutely adored our room. The Swim-Out Master Suite in Building 8 was spacious and luxurious — with a huge shower, double sinks, a soaking tub, a walk-in closet, and an oversized swim-out pool that felt private. Having the extra living area and half bath was an added bonus. We spent so much time in the pool and on the patio soaking in the views — it made our trip.

Service & Staff

The staff made our honeymoon truly unforgettable. Every single interaction was warm and genuine. Huge shout-outs to:
• Ricardo (concierge) — Incredibly responsive and made everything effortless. Anything we needed, he made happen! He went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special! So thankful to have had him as our concierge!
• Genner (pool service) — So friendly and attentive, made our pool days amazing! He also went above and beyond and we appreciated him so much!
• Sonia — wonderful and kind
• Charlie & Izzy at Himitsu/Hibachi — Hilarious, fun, talented, and made dinner one of our favorite memories of the trip!
• Alexandra at Portofino — sweetest handwritten honeymoon note

Everyone in Building 8, the Preferred Lounge, housekeeping, and room service staff were fantastic. We wish we could list every name — the service here is truly special.

Our Tips

• Bring extra cash for tips — the staff works so hard and truly makes your stay unforgettable
• Download the Hyatt All-Inclusive App — menus, map, room service, easy reservations

Final Thoughts

This resort made our honeymoon perfect — beautiful setting, amazing service, delicious food, and a relaxing, romantic atmosphere. We will be back next year and can’t wait already!

DID NOT DISAPPOINT

My hubby and i traveled here for my 30th birthday & i cannot say enough good things!! Number one the rooms were immaculate & spotless. They even gave us a special breakfast, wine and rose pedals on the bed for our celebration ❤️❤️ Housekeeping comes TWICE a day! The staff was incredible & so welcoming. The views are impeccable especially if you upgrade to ocean view .. which i HIGHLY recommend. It was gorgeous. I would like to especially point out some staff members who truly made this experience UNFORGETTABLE. Big thanks to Susana , who from the moment we saw her, welcomed us, chatted with us & let us know about all the activities the hotel has to offer. I saw her day after day and she remembers our names & gave us a hug every time! Another employee who made us LAUGH and have a blast was Fransico / Frank. He guided our bike tour and taught us archery! He also did water volleyball so he truly has such an active job and continues to have great vibes and a huge smile!! Oscar was another employee who picked us up in the golf cart many times to get around the grounds of the hotel. He was SO KIND and friendly always chatting with us. I definitely suggest usuing the carts to get around as the walking can get tiresome ESPECIALLY if you’re having a few drinks! Which you SHOULD be ! It’s aaaall inclusive. The food was just absolutely delicious. Oceana, seaside grill (lunch) and the hibachi spot were our faves!!!! Lastly i would like to shout out Juan Jose. I truly wish i got more names of each staff member because EACH ONE was delightful. We have visited Mexico before at another all inclusive and did not receive nearly as great of treatment. The hotel offered so many fun events and activities at no extra cost! And of course, you can purchase excursions or spa days which i also recommend.. the live music by Felix in the “bird cage bar” was AMAZING!! He was playing the sax and absolutely KILLING IT!! long story long, we fell IN LOVE with this hotel and location. We will be coming back to their sister hotel DREAMS with our kiddos!!! We cannot wait. Thank you secrets puertos los Cabos for making my 30th birthday soooo memorable!!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos

We had an incredible time with our friends at Secrets Puerto Los Cabo’s. The property was impeccable—-so clean and well maintained. The staff is was what stood out to us. Each person went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. One staff member that stood out to us was Vianey from the Market Cafe. She is a terrific hostess….her sweet smile and thoughtfulness made our meals special.
