Earthquake - NP! Hurricane - NP! Girls Getaway - Priceless!

Beautiful hotel and great location. Crashing waves at the beach were breathtaking.
Front desk/Check In - Lackluster with the exception of Alfredo, who was amazing! Both on arrival and departure..... What a fantastic ambassador for the property. Room - spacious, marina view was beautiful and beds comfy (finisterra suite)
Food - Other reviewers have commented that it's better than avg for AI. IMO not true. Mediocre at best. That said, the staff at all of the restaurants were fantastic!
Drinks - Ishmail at VIP pool was the BEST. He was the highlight of our stay. All other bars had drinks that were inconsistent and not very tasty or particularly potent. Of note, VIP upgrade does not apply to liquor selection.
Primary focus for the resort - Caters to Royal Elite Vacation Club Members. There were many loyal patrons that had been coming to the resort for years. Enjoyed visiting with them.
LOVED the mascot kitty - Shadow. If you go, be sure to be kind to this tiny sweetheart.
Maintenance - We were there during the hurricane and are in the property management industry so there was considerable sympathy for the challenges being faced. That said, 3 nites with no ac and consistently being told it was fixed and being lied to was not ok.
Overall - Good first experience in Cabo and no regrets with choosing Sandos. Knowing there are much better and far worse options, the service and entertainment staff made it worthwhile to stay here. Decent value, but probably wont be opting for an AI property next time. Too many excellent drinking and dining options in town and the marina areas.

AWESOME VACATION AND WEDDING VENUE

Our stay was absolutely awesome. My daughter had her wedding here, we had 42 people and they kept everybody together all the reservations as well as the wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Anything we needed they took care of with a smile
It was so awesome. I’d like to give a shout out to NOE & MAR for their excellent Customer service skills and always willing to help out and make things happen. Also my favorite bartender FRANCISCO as he WAS an excellent host and bartender for my daughter’s wedding. If you want to go on all exclusive trip, and have your wedding at the same time, this is the place to go. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!! They took care of everything that we needed right away thank you guys so much. We appreciate you all Denise and Dottie room 1114..

Sandos Finisterra Cabo – My Full September 2025 Experience (9/10)

I stayed at Sandos Finisterra Resort in Cabo San Lucas in September 2025, and this place truly impressed me with its size, variety, and all-inclusive offerings. The property is huge, with so many different places to eat and drink — and unlike some all-inclusive resorts, every restaurant and every bar here is included. That means you never feel limited or stuck with the same options.

The Seventh Floor: The Heart of the Resort

The seventh floor is where everything happens. Here you’ll find:
• The main restaurants
• The café/coffee shop that feels like a Starbucks
• The spa and gym
• Incredible views of the marina

Having so much in one place makes the seventh floor the hub of the resort. I highly recommend booking a marina-view room because it puts you right next to all of this. You’ll be close to the breakfast restaurant, the café, and the gym — everything you need is just steps away.

Marina View vs. Ocean View

The marina view is better than the ocean view in my opinion. You can still see the ocean, but there’s much more to watch: the cruise ships coming and going, all the activity on the docks, and even the dolphin show from your balcony. Plus, you can people-watch right from your room, which adds to the fun.

Pools, Food, and Drinks

There are three pools and countless bars, so you never go thirsty. Each bartender makes different drinks, so you aren’t stuck with the same flavor everywhere. Around the pool area, there are three restaurants, with Tortuga being my personal favorite. The variety of food across the resort keeps things exciting — you won’t get tired of eating the same thing every day.

Location and Beaches

The resort sits right across from the Cabo marina and its restaurants. You’re also just about a 10-minute walk from one of the swimmable beaches, which is super convenient. The property itself is on the Pacific Ocean side, which is gorgeous but not safe for casual swimming. The waves and riptides are very strong — unless you’re an extremely skilled swimmer, it’s best to enjoy the view and stick to the pools or the calmer beach nearby.

Atmosphere and Weddings

The atmosphere here is always upbeat. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, and with the combination of the pools, food, drinks, and views, it’s easy to see why. This place is also perfect for weddings — there was one happening during my stay, and the setup was stunning.

Minor Downsides

The resort isn’t without flaws, but they’re small:
• Uber pickups aren’t allowed at the front lobby. You have to walk out to the front gate, which can be inconvenient with luggage.
• During my stay, only one elevator was working. Thankfully, the resort wasn’t crowded, so it wasn’t too bad.

Tips for Your Stay
• Book a marina-view room: The views and location are unbeatable.
• Don’t fear the rainy season: Even though the forecast might show thunderstorms, my experience was just one night of rain and a light drizzle early one morning. By 8 a.m., the grounds were already cleared and dry — staff even swept the floors to prevent slips. You’d hardly know it rained.
• Watch the marina from your balcony: Cruise ships, dolphins, and all the dockside action make it better than just staring at the open ocean.

Final Thoughts

Sandos Finisterra is the kind of resort where you can truly relax and enjoy variety without feeling restricted. The all-inclusive makes it absolutely worth it, the location is unbeatable, and the marina-view rooms are a must. Between the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and the views, this place is a winner.

Rating: 9/10
The only thing holding it back from a perfect score is the Uber pickup policy. Other than that, my September 2025 stay at Sandos Finisterra was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cabo.

Another wonderful trip to Sandos Finisterra!

The location of this property is perfect, with views of the Pacific and Marina. Downtown Cabo is a short walk or a quick cab ride. The beach offers stunning views and is virtually private due to access being limited to a few resorts. You have many great food options. The spa is exceptional. What makes the place is the wonderful staff. We look forward to our next visit.

They will work hard to help you find your stuff!

The day before I was supposed to leave the resort, I thought I lost my passport and purse. I went to the front desk and talked to Edgar Martinez who took down my information and he assured me he would find it. Well a few hours of worrying later, you located me and handed me my stuff! He made sure that I had everything I needed for my flight. He was a very nice man. I appreciate him going on a hunt for my stuff that I thought I lost forever.Especially my passport. I appreciate him going out of his way to do his job.

Birthday vacation

Staff are always nice and accommodating, very hard-working and pleasant people. Concierge Edgar is phenomenal and Georgina at Don Diego restaurant is fantastic. Georgina remembered my birthday and brought me a cheesecake and sang happy birthday to me, suddenly got the whole restaurant to serenade me. What a special moment. Thank you Sandos!

Vacation for birthday and 30th Anniversary

We just returned from our trip to Sando Finisterra. We had an absolutely fantastic time at this property. The first thing we noticed was the exceptional attention to hospitality and guest satisfaction! The staff shines in all interactions throughout the property. You can feel the genuine care you receive from each team member. One particular server we enjoyed spending time with was Georgina at the Don Diego breakfast restaurant. She was attentive, friendly but most of all made us feel welcome every time we came in. Thank you Georgina!!! The property was spotless. Workers cleaning and keeping everything from floors to windows and furniture in perfect order.
Our favorite places were the large swim up pool, outside entertainment area by the Don Diego restaurant and the Whalers Lounge at the very top of the property. Great places to eat but we spent three nights at the Emiliano's Italian restaurant and down at the pool side Agave restaurant. We look forward to returning soon!

Unforgettable Stay – Can’t Wait to Return!

We stayed at Sandos Finisterra from October 1–7 in Room 1235, and it was truly one of the best resort experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. Mike greeted us with warmth and helpfulness that immediately made us feel at home.

Throughout our stay, every staff member contributed to an atmosphere of genuine hospitality. A special shoutout to Fransisco at the Lobby Bar—his attentiveness and kindness made each visit memorable. The waitstaff and behind-the-scenes team were equally incredible, ensuring every detail was perfect.

The pool activities were a blast—fun, engaging, and a great way to meet other guests. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return.

Best Overall - Food, Accommodations, Cleanliness, Employees

Our first trip to Sandos stayed for 17 days. Not once did we have a bad meal. All employees were pleasant and greeted you every time in passing. They were constantly cleaning the resort. The two waitress who went above and beyond were Virginia and Elisama. It was wonderful to see their smiling faces everyday. I will have to say this is our favorite resort in Cabo. Location is perfect within walking distance to marina. Our room overlooked the marina and it was perfect. Top notch resort.

Perfect Vacation

Pool bartenders Norma and Joel were excellent at the pools at Sandos Finnestera in Cabo. They were so good at always being available to take our orders and prompt on delivering them. They both always greeted us with a smile!! We have now been here several times and love seeing them each time we are back! We would be very sad if they ever left the resort. Highly recommend them for drink and food orders at the pool!! 😊😊

Loved our vacation!
