Our butlers, Gladstone and Sherril, were great, sorted us out with all the things we needed and nothing seemed too much trouble (although we don’t ask for much!)
Beach butlers Trevado and Daniello are amazing and have a second sense for exactly the drink you need without asking!
The breakfast and lunch team of Stephnie, Stacey-Ann, Sherika and Vanya were lovely everyday. We had great service at the bar from Garnet and Junior, supported brilliantly by Tressell. And at our final meal at Le Papillon, our server Chevon was a ray of sunshine!
Whilst SRP has a low key vibe, we had one of the best nights we’ve ever had in the Caribbean (and one of the worst mornings after!) Lots of dancing and singing with new friends, with GM Omar tearing up the dance floor all night.
Will miss Omar and Marvin’s daily rounds with the boozy popsicles!
We have not yet returned to a resort but in a first for us, we are booked to come back next year. Counting down the days already!
Our favourite Sandals
Two weeks at Sandals Royal Plantation (SRP) and it’s been amazing. This place is definitely our favourite Sandals. It’s small, intimate, and the service is so personal. Gorgeous layout (if you don’t mind a few steps), amazing food, and easy access to Dunn’s River and Ochi. Plus, we met some incredible staff and guests who made the experience even better.Our butlers, Gladstone and Sherril, were great, sorted us out with all the things we needed and nothing seemed too much trouble (although we don’t ask for much!)

Awesome Hotel, staff and resort!
From start to finish everything about this hotel was fantastic! The resort, the staff, the food, cleanliness, rooms, service, choice of drinks, facilities and location were all absolutely brilliant! The entire team of staff were always friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for you. The butlers worked tirelessly to make our stay even more memorable! If you can find fault with this resort and the staff you're just nit picking and probably one of life's miserable people who moan at every opportunity! So don't do it!

Small Paradise
The resort is small and intimate but the staff makes it grand. Omar Robinson(the general manager) knows everyone’s names and greets you by name each time he sees you. We had an amazing time and will go back again. Special shout out to Mr Bean, Sequoia and Horacio. Of course our butlers Andre and “the best looking butler” made sure our vacation stay received the right amount of pampering. Uncle Charlie made the best omelettes!

Omar, Marvin, and Samantha, what a team, working tirelessly to ensure that our holiday was everything and more.
Beautiful souls, beautiful food, we had the time of our life.
The hotel continues to deliver, and is better than ever, peaceful, intimate and personal.
The freshest of fruit and seafood daily.
The stand out of the show is the ‘your wish is my command’ concept, feels as if anything (reasonable) is possible, and the entire staff team do all they can to ensure your holiday is wonderful.
Anthony our butler was fantastic, his smile and joyful demeanour is a wonderful addition to a beautiful Caribbean day.
Anthony is a credit to Sandals, fulfilling any promise he makes, professional, helpful, and takes the initiative, you don’t even realise you want a hot bubble bath until you get back to your room and it’s there (with beautiful flowers too).
The spa and a massage from Shirley were delightful, our best massages to date (no easy task given we enjoy massages throughout our travels).
Omar I cannot praise the GM enough, our expectations are high and Omar exceeded any expectations we have.
He is present, visible and connected to the guest and their experience at all times.
Where in the world does the GM go to the local supermarket to purchase a new hair comb for you because yours is lost, within hours of my hair comb being lost I gratefully received replacements, and Omar did not consider it resolved until I had exactly the right replacement.
The team at sandals continue to do what they do best, they smile, laugh, sing, cook the finest and freshest food, deliver anything that you ask for, and thank God for their blessings, beautiful and humble souls.

Omar the general manager is amazing! You will see him through out your stay and he will greet you by your name. Every single team member makes you feel special! They are the elite!
Our butlers Neil and Chase made our week amazing! If you have never done the couples tropical paradise massage it is a must!

Remarkable again - amazing food - views and people
Another exceptional trip! Hard to imagine it could get better, but it did. Deletectable food! Caring staff - from our amazing butlers, Anthony and Robert, great Bartenders-Junior, Garnet & Kims(misspelled sorry) Vanya’s beautiful smiling face- Sherika, Stacey-Ann, Tiana and Orneila who made our dining lovely. Sooo many thanks to Chef Vinroy! Daniello - beach butler extraordinaire! Danianna at the spa pampered me again. A couple of last shout out to Kenmarnie- who made our entrance and exit safe- you went the extra mile. Also Michael our driver- Sequoia. Sooo looking forward to seeing you all again next year!

Royal Plantation itself if in need of updating, but part of it's charm is truly the nostalgic decor. For us what makes the resort and the vacation is not the resort itself but the people of the resort that take care of us while we are there. We wanted to highlight a few of this people.
The current General Manager Omar started early in 2024 and is doing a nice job. He is approachable, personable, and remembers every single guests name and greets you by name!
Omar's righthand team member overseeing all departments and operations on resort is Marvin Boyd. He has been with Sandal's over 10 years and is a shining example of service! While we were there we had a couple special requests, that despite some obstacles, Marvin came through, with no hesitation!
The head chef as well as Chef Vinroy did an exceptional job and took the time to make special lunches just because!
This resort is an all butler resort. These folks take care of you during your stay. We have worked with Orayne the Butler on every stay at Royal Plantation, and he is exceptional! His partner Safiya is also amazing. On a previous trip we also had the opportunity to work with Carlos. We ran into him on this trip and he remembered us by name, despite us not working with him in over three years! This entire Butler team is amazing!
The two Beach Butler's that deserve total credit for the food, drinks, energy, and service on the beach are Dantello and Trevardo. These two team members also remember guests from year to year, remembering drink preferences, etc! Very impressive when they have a new group of 140 guests every 7 days.
Finally, the three bartenders at the Wobbly Peacock, Collin, Garnet, and last but definitely not least Junior. These gentlemen not only made exceptional cocktails, but they also took the time to interact with guests, showing a genuine interest in all patrons.
This resort, and these PEOPLE are why we have been spending time at Sandal's for over 20 years, and at Royal Plantation for over 10 years. Thank you Royal Plantation Team!

For over 10 years now we have been spending time at what feels like our very own private home away from home. This boutique, 70 room resort is the perfect getaway! While this resort is quiet and subdued, perfect for relaxation, Sandal's has hourly transportation to Sandal's Ochi right next door if you are in the mood for more energy and party atmosphere!Royal Plantation itself if in need of updating, but part of it's charm is truly the nostalgic decor. Best stay ever.
Biggest shout out to the staff and all who work here it was an amazing experience and we would most definitely return. The food is gorgeous. The report is well kept and exceptionally well looked after and rooms are cleaned to the highest standard. It has set the standard. Loved every moment and a special shout out to Lashaun front of house manager who went above and beyond. Best experience !

One of the best vacations
This is the first time I have ever written a review. I had a hard time believing all of the amazing reviews of Royal Plantation but I admit, it was everything people said it is. By far one of the best vacations I have ever had. From the GMs Omar and Marvin to our butlers Ricky and Biggs to everyone else that works there, service is their number one priority and they excel. We had anything we wanted and more and the resort is beautiful. Yes, the rooms could use a refresh but that is such a minor thing when you look at the resort overall. We will be rebooking for next year and are looking forward to it!!

Omar manager - awesome guy, authentic, approachable and truly adored by everyone that works at the resort along with guests, (over 68% repeaters!!)
Monique - looked after our room, it was spotless, thank you! It was an older style room, authentic and charming. Bathrooms could definitely do with updating but it didn’t spoil our week at all
Butlers Chase and Neil were awesome and kept me stocked up with gluten free pizza and goodies. They got me a birthday cake too and we enjoyed lobster Thermidor for lunch on our sun -loungers with champagne
All food here was amazing and I absolutely loved the cosy vibe!
Always sunbeds available on both beaches and we loved sitting on the terrace in the evening - will return for sure!
Sashays in the Ocean bar went and got me a banana to make me a Hummingbird - that was really lovely of her.

Sandals Ochi wasn’t for us, we ventured next door a couple of times to try different restaurants but quickly returned back to Plantation.
If you want a week of complete chill, a fly and flop holiday, with attentive staff, then this is the place for you. The manager, Omar, is just the cherry on the top, he’s an absolute joy and makes everyone feel that they belong there.

Too summerise the experience it was "incredible". I've stayed in many hotels across the world and carribean- This is in different league.
From arrival a welcome fresh towel and bubbly set the tone for things to come.
Firstly let me get the manager' Omar ' part out thr way. This guy is just outstanding. Remembers your name from your first meeting and ensures every guest is greeted by name and takes time to speak with everyone. The fact he is always visible and even brings out ice lollies to the beach speaks volumes. No hiding in an office, just proves how good this hotel is...
This is echoed by all the staff, so many to name- special thanks though to Stacey ann at breakfast, Garnet and colin from the peacock- Tanya at terrece and Brandon for entertainmentand laughs. They all are a credit to the hotel and make everyday feel like being with friends rather than just guests.
We visited Sandals Dunns river for a Dinner which highlighted just how good the plantation Is.
Dunns river was scripted, rushed with staff having no personality at all. Yes its new and large but there was no character or sense of belonging.
Every meal we have eaten during the stay was just brilliant. The French restaurant onion soup is to die for, and even the bar menu at the peacock is just Fabulous. Trying fit all the meals in is the only problem we had as we just wanted to tru them all.
We did find that all the menus were just guides, if you want anything creating off menu it was possible, or even food from another restaurant just ask.
Butlers brought jerk from ochi which is well worth having 👍
We ran out of cocktail requests for GARNET to produce at the peacock, and all the beach butlers are just awesome. Your never without a drink ever..
Due to there being space at the resort we were upgraded to a suite, which made the holiday even more special.
There are so many special touches which is just the norm at this resort which stands head and shoulders above others. Treats in your room , baths run etc. If your butlers can make it happen it is just done. In trying to write a balanced review the only negative is that at some point you have to leave.
There is a reason people return to this hotel, we are going to be one of those people.

From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we were welcomed with warmth, smiles, and genuine care. The atmosphere is intimate and luxurious without ever being stuffy — every detail felt designed to help us relax and focus on what mattered most: each other.
But what truly made this trip so extraordinary were the incredible staff. I have to mention the people who made a big impact, but this list is by no means exhaustive!:
Garnet – a brilliantly fun and enthusiastic bartender who lifted the energy every evening with his singing voice, dance moves, and magnetic personality. .
Anthony and Robert – our personal butlers, who turned our honeymoon into a dream. They went above and beyond in ways that left us speechless, always ensuring we were relaxed, cared for, and treated like royalty.
Collin – a young, exemplarily polite bartender who impressed us with his professionalism and kindness at every interaction.
Kimiesha – a fun and lively bartender who brought so much joy and laughter to our days and magic in our glasses.
Tracy Ann – the lovely breakfast hostess who greeted us with warmth each morning, offering recommendations that always set us off on the right foot.
Matthew – a charming young waiter whose smile was so contagious it made every meal brighter.
Treyvaughn and Chadwing – who led our boat tour and snorkelling trip with energy, humour, and knowledge, turning an adventure into one of our favourite days.
Jevaughn – who served our candlelit dinner with such grace and respect that the whole evening felt like it had been lifted straight from a romance movie.
Rodrigo – the talented photographer who captured moments so beautifully that we couldn’t resist buying 15 photos, despite telling ourselves we wouldn’t splurge.
Tiana – a delightful terrace hostess who looked after us so warmly.
Vanya – the attentive and cheerful server who always made sure our mimosa glasses were full.
Alison – the massage therapist who gave my wife the best massage she has ever had. She still talks about how incredible that experience was.
Nataki – a vibrant entertainer whose talent and easy charm brought so much joy to the evenings, always mingling and making guests feel part of the magic.
Nicola – the gracious hostess at the French restaurant, who made dining there feel so elegant and special.
Tresell – one of the wonderful wait staff who radiated grace and warmth.
Estina – our meticulous housekeeper, who ensured our room was spotless and perfectly made each day, always with thoughtful attention to detail.
Marvin – one of the managers, whose polished and professional presence spoke volumes about the standards here.
Omar – the general manager, who absolutely floored us with his ability to remember names after a single meeting. His personal touch and pride in this resort were unmistakable, and it’s clear he leads by example.
Every single person we met made us feel like our honeymoon and birthday celebration truly mattered to them, not just as guests, but as people. That kind of genuine care is rare, and it really turned our trip into the memory of a lifetime.
This place isn’t just a resort; it’s a place where love and joy are celebrated every single day, by a team of people who pour their hearts into what they do. We left with full hearts (and tummy's), and promises to ourselves that we will return.

My wife and I chose Sandals Royal Plantation for our honeymoon, which also coincided with her birthday — and words can hardly capture just how magical our stay was. This wasn’t just a vacation, it was the beginning of our married life together, celebrated in the most beautiful setting, surrounded by people who went above and beyond to make it unforgettable.From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we were welcomed with warmth, smiles, and genuine care. The atmosphere is intimate and luxurious without ever being stuffy — every detail felt designed to help us relax and focus on what mattered most: each other.
But what truly made this trip so extraordinary were the incredible staff. I have to mention the people who made a big impact, but this list is by no means exhaustive!:
Garnet – a brilliantly fun and enthusiastic bartender who lifted the energy every evening with his singing voice, dance moves, and magnetic personality. .
Anthony and Robert – our personal butlers, who turned our honeymoon into a dream. They went above and beyond in ways that left us speechless, always ensuring we were relaxed, cared for, and treated like royalty.
Collin – a young, exemplarily polite bartender who impressed us with his professionalism and kindness at every interaction.
Kimiesha – a fun and lively bartender who brought so much joy and laughter to our days and magic in our glasses.
Tracy Ann – the lovely breakfast hostess who greeted us with warmth each morning, offering recommendations that always set us off on the right foot.
Matthew – a charming young waiter whose smile was so contagious it made every meal brighter.
Treyvaughn and Chadwing – who led our boat tour and snorkelling trip with energy, humour, and knowledge, turning an adventure into one of our favourite days.
Jevaughn – who served our candlelit dinner with such grace and respect that the whole evening felt like it had been lifted straight from a romance movie.
Rodrigo – the talented photographer who captured moments so beautifully that we couldn’t resist buying 15 photos, despite telling ourselves we wouldn’t splurge.
Tiana – a delightful terrace hostess who looked after us so warmly.
Vanya – the attentive and cheerful server who always made sure our mimosa glasses were full.
Alison – the massage therapist who gave my wife the best massage she has ever had. She still talks about how incredible that experience was.
Nataki – a vibrant entertainer whose talent and easy charm brought so much joy to the evenings, always mingling and making guests feel part of the magic.
Nicola – the gracious hostess at the French restaurant, who made dining there feel so elegant and special.
Tresell – one of the wonderful wait staff who radiated grace and warmth.
Estina – our meticulous housekeeper, who ensured our room was spotless and perfectly made each day, always with thoughtful attention to detail.
Marvin – one of the managers, whose polished and professional presence spoke volumes about the standards here.
Omar – the general manager, who absolutely floored us with his ability to remember names after a single meeting. His personal touch and pride in this resort were unmistakable, and it’s clear he leads by example.
Every single person we met made us feel like our honeymoon and birthday celebration truly mattered to them, not just as guests, but as people. That kind of genuine care is rare, and it really turned our trip into the memory of a lifetime.
This place isn’t just a resort; it’s a place where love and joy are celebrated every single day, by a team of people who pour their hearts into what they do. We left with full hearts (and tummy's), and promises to ourselves that we will return.
This is the perfect destination.

A wonderful time
Everything about the resort was wonderful, the management (Marvin and Omar) always remembered our names and the daily cocktail popsicles on the beach were much appreciated. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We loved all the little games including darts, croquet, pickleball, pool, backgammon, corn hole, shuffleboard and bocce ball to name a few. The water was amazing for swimming and we also enjoyed our regular kayaking, thank you to the water sports team for looking after us. The beach butlers remembered our drinks order and always seemed to be there when you needed refreshment. Our own butlers Marvin and Bebeato were great and looked after us brilliantly, no request was too much trouble. The loyalty and travel team were great and we got to know them well through our daily games of pool. Horatio and Mahesh were lovely and we got to know Sequoia really well. Never having played pickleball before we really enjoyed our games of doubles pickleball with David and Russ and Simeon the coach shouting encouragement. The food was exceptional and all the serving staff were really friendly and accommodating. Overall it was a brilliant holiday and we have already booked to go back.

First Time - not the Last Time!
This was a special offer for September from the UK. We know the diving can be better in other countries but we were interested in this resort as it is small and Butler only suites. It is not for those who like a party atmosphere or large swim-up pools but suited us and like-minded 'oldies'. Service and quality of restaurants are excellent and we would happily revisit even without the diving. We were also very lucky to be here on the occasion of turtles being released from their nest.

I recently wrote the following Thank You note to Omar, the General Manager.
Good Morning Omar!
Tim and I arrived home safely yesterday evening with all of our art carvings intact!
I apologize in advance for the length of this email but I would be remiss in not giving a shout out to you and your staff.......
I am not sure where to begin to thank you and your amazing staff for probably our best vacation ever. Your energy is palpable and it reflects in each and every staff member we encountered throughout the week. I hope they all know how appreciated each and every one of them are to us.
I am sure I will miss some names here but I'd like to give a shout out to those we have known over the years and those that we met for the first time this year. They are all special people and each one went out of their way to make this trip special for us.
I start with Andre and Johovan. They are nothing short of amazing. We consider them friends and family. Their attention to detail, their spirit, all of the special touches throughout our stay were just wonderful. I can't imagine a vacation there without them.
Sherril holds a very special place in our hearts. She was one of our very first butlers in 2014 and her infectious laugh and spirit continue to warm our hearts. Even though we were not her guests, she took time for us to catch up and reminisce over the past and it was lovely.
In 2023 we met dear Vanya at The Terrace and we were thrilled to see her again this year. She has the most wonderful warm smile. We were also blessed to see Tiana and Stephne and we met Sherika for the first time and enjoyed her lovely personality at The Terrace and The Grill.
We also met Sheena, Giovanni and Romaine for the first time at dinner and they were so warm and engaging.
In 2023 we also met dear Chevon (Chevy) up in La Papillon. He holds a corner of our hearts and we were thrilled to reconnect with him again this year. He brings pure joy to everything he does.
To Chef Martin and Chef Vinroy, we cannot thank them enough for the wonderful food they produced each and every day and the special lobster dishes (yum!) and of course our private meal on our balcony. They are simply spectacular!
A huge shout out goes to Daniello, Trevardo and Romaine down at the beach. We have known them for many years and they are fantastic beach butlers. They made our time down on the beach so much fun. They are all three wonderful individuals and work so very hard.
Of course there is the Wobbly Peacock. It was wonderful to reconnect with Tressel. She makes the #1 espresso martini I have ever had anywhere! There of course was also Garnet, Junior and Jlee. All of them were so much fun!
At the spa, Dianna was fantastic and it was a pleasure spending some time with Trecia, the head of the spa.
To Marvin.... he was and has always been a great person to have conversation with and his love for what he does clearly shows in everything he touches.
I huge shout out to our room attendant, Nariesha. She was always so polite and clearly cared greatly for her job as she had amazing attention to detail throughout our stay. I hope we can have her again in 2026!
There are also all of the beach attendants who took care of the beach each day. I wish I had their names. I would watch them prepare the beach each morning and it was just amazing what great care they took to make the beach ready for everyone every morning.
Finally, many thanks to Sequoia for showing us a couple of new room options and helping me to book our next three stays at Royal Plantation .
I truly hope that Tim and I show appropriate appreciation and respect to your entire staff when we visit SRP. You all make this a place we continue to want to return to as often as we are blessed to be able to do so. We do not ever take for granted how lucky/blessed we are to be able to come to this beautiful place and to be treated in such a special way. We are truly humbled each and every time we are there.

A MAGICAL PLACE
This was our 6th visit to SRP and we booked three more while on property. This is simply a magical place. We cannot imagine vacationing anywhere else. We were blessed this trip to have stayed in room 360, The Governor General Suite. It sits atop the West Wing on the far end closest to the ocean. Exceptional resort
Stunning location and exceptional staff!! I don't know how the staff always seemed to locate us and greet us by name. Even the manager found us and introduced himself. Everyone there seems like they are out to make your vacation above and beyond. Highly highly recommend this resort! Wow!!

We didn't like this hotel we loved it !
The high number of retuning guests is a very good indication that this hotel is delivering a high standard of hospitality. We have visited this hotel several times and have always had a wonderful holiday experience. This visit our Butlers were Richard and Dwainey both absolute professionals who made us feel at home and were kind and considerate - thank you both so much x huge respect for you both x just a fantastic team. The rooms have been upgraded since our last visit and as always clean and beautifully presented. The food and service at this all inclusive hotel did not disappoint. The Royal Grill in the evening and Soy at Ochi where the food and service was just 5* every time. Everyone is friendly and it is such a happy place to be. The Spa is relaxing and friendly. Spa therapist Rona was very professional and is a wonderful person. Lorna and the two beautiful ladies in the shop are always happy to help and have a chat with. Huge thank you to the beach butlers, the breakfast and dinner servers, the friendly mixologists at the Wobbly Peacock and everyone that took the time to have a chat and make us feel at home.
