Problems but has potential….

Beware. You will have a pushy ‘concierge’ that only wants credit for sending u to time share like event. Also vendors throughout resort pushing goods. Typical all inclusive food but better than most. Extreme language barriers. Triple check your reservation and who is included in it. Booked through Bonvoy and arrived to find my husband not included. Even though we noticed and addressed it twice prior to arrival. Unless diamond club (and it’s not worth it btw) bring ur own liqueurs. The open air buffet tries to be fine dining. Got refused entry for having on a cover up while one lady had to wrap in a pool towel. One last thing. They have played XXX explicit music at the pool which radiates throughout resort. Not Sandals quality but not Sandals price either. Has great potential but they need to read these reviews. 7/10

A great experience

Location: super nice, clean and bright!
Atmosphere: was great, everyone is so friendly, all of the staff were amazing and always had big smiles on their face!

Big shout out to Wilmy, Maicol, Maximo and Gustavo who made our experience even better. Maicol was a 10/10 entertainer, always made sure we were having a good time and went above and beyond to provide the best experience:) Wilmy was a 10/10 butler who always answered our questions and assisted us within minutes of time!!! Gustavo was a 10/10 bartender, his smile radiated through the entire resort and he made the best drinks… he knew our order within three days of being there. Maximo was a top 10 waiter and bartender, he always knew what we wanted, was extremely friendly and knew how to make us smile and laugh:)

The resort was a bit more quiet than I expected -could have been due to the time of year but overall it was a perfect mix of relaxation and fun!

Food was very good, flavourful and always an option even if you’re picky - I am very picky lol.

Great experience!!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BOOK ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!!

I am taking time away from our wedding anniversary trip to post this review today about the very disappointing experience we have had since our arrival.

Upon checking into our room it became immediately clear that this resort has seen better days. What may have once been a 5 star resort is no longer such today. I would venture to rate this resort at 3 stars maybe 3.5 at best.

Our first room we checked into was 4308. This rooms front door had issues which required you to use your body weight or brute strength to force the door open or closed. Our sliding glass door to the patio had the same issue making it almost unusable. On top of this the glass door to the watercloset was hung in a way that the glass struck the wall at the top when closed. Additonally the closet door was damaged and hanging at a weird angle, once closed I could no longer open it. My wife attempted to take a bath in the soaker tub only to have it eject dirty water and a bunch of debris into the tub. I have been to the Diamond Club desk on 4 separate occasions to get these issues addressed as it does not seem a very high priority for them. Often times hours will pass before our butler Leni responds to communication.

Our room was missing many of the amenities listed on the website as Diamond Club perks. There was no hand soap or hand washcloths in the room. There were no robes in the room. The welcome sparkling bottle of wine was never offered or provided, the in suite bottle of wine along with fresh fruit basket was never provided. The complimentary beach bag and slippers were not provided. There was no in suite aromatherapy provided. The Diamond Club private pool is in terrible shape and honestly not safe with many pieces of broken decking.

The private breakfast has only been available 1 day so far and multiple restaurants have been closed with no notice. The restaurants that have been open have consistently been out of several menu items.

As if this wasnt bad enough the resort itself is in terrible disrepair. There are electrcial outlets hanging out of walls, surfaces are dirty, damaged and as stated before the deck to the diamond club pool is badly damaged and honestly unsafe.

The resort did move our room yesterday to 4302 in an attempt to make things better, though we were told they could not upgrade us due to length of our stay and scheduled bookings. They did offer a complimentary Romantic Dinner as an apology for our experience. We are in the same building and floor, this room again has an inoperable closet door making half of the closet inaccessible. The blackout curtains are damaged and do not close properly allowing sunlight into the room at sunrise making any desire to sleep in not an option.

Then this morning when we woke up there was a large roach or something on the floor in our room which has my wife and myself a little uncomfortable and uneasy as to where else in the room or bed they may be hiding.

I have reached out to United Vacations but wanted to inform anyone willing to listen of our experience and strongly discourage anyone else from booking a vacation here. Honestly if we could fly home today and receive a refund for this disater of a trip I would do that in a heartbeat.

I am sorry to have to write this review. Unfortunately the resolution the hotel has provided has been insufficient. After complaining multiple times on site we were moved to a new room. Things seemed to be getting better, however this morning we awoke to a large cockroach in our room. This on top of everything else we have endured is unacceptable and we have reached out to our travel agent and United Vacations to move our resort. The hotel has been dragging their feet all day despite multiple calls from our travel agent and United Vacations and is effectively holding us hostage while refusing to issue a refund for the remainder of our stay, which would allow us to change resorts.

When United Vacations reached out and finally spoke with someone at the resort, after calling for hours before someone answered, about refunding the remainder of our stay the hotel manager has stated they have 24 to 48 hours to make that decision. This would mean we would possibly be able to move resorts the evening before our departure.

I cannot express strongly enough how bad of a vacation this has been, our first in 12 years. What was supposed to be a joyous celebration of our marriage has been nothing but frustration and disappointment.

Amazing Service, but the Resort Needs Some Updates

Overall, I’d give our stay at Royalton Chic Punta Cana a 7/10. If I was just rating the resort itself, it would probably be a 5/10.
The Good:
Service – 10/10! The staff were incredible. Huge shoutout to Omar, Rosa, and German, they went above and beyond for our group of six (and we all had different needs!). They made sure we were taken care of every step of the way.
Diamond Club: Definitely worth it. The extras really made a difference.
Swim-Up Rooms: Loved them! We had two side-by-side and spent tons of time there. Super relaxing.
Spa: The massages were amazing, and the hydrotherapy area was a great bonus (and free with Diamond Club!).
Resort Size: Small and easy to get around — perfect if you don’t want to walk long distances.
Beach: Beautiful, clean, and plenty of chairs and shaded spots.
The Not-So-Good:
Outdated: The place needs some TLC. Missing pool tiles, worn-down rooms, a hard-to-open patio door, and some broken deck boards by the mermaid pool.
Room Smell: All three of our rooms had a sewer smell that never really went away. One was bad enough that we had to keep the door open.
No Shade at Pools: Not much shade around the pools, which made it hard to sit out too long.
Recommendations:
If you go, book through Susan Cooper at Padovani Travel; she’s amazing! She made sure the resort knew we were coming and really took care of us. Couldn’t have asked for better service.
Also, go for the Diamond Club Swim-Up Room — totally worth it.
Overall:
We had a great time, thanks to the staff and the company we were with. The food was okay (no one went hungry), but nothing special. I don’t think I’d go back unless the resort gets some upgrades, but we still made some awesome memories!

Take the Bad Reviews with a grain of sand (salt)😀😃

Royalton Chic was the perfect size, easy to get around without feeling crowded. We stayed in the Diamond Club rooms (2300s) with amazing views and top tier service. The Diamond Club area was central, convenient, and well stocked with medium to top shelf drinks. Food was fair, but the energy and hospitality made up for it. Samuel was our butler and Ruth was an attendant in the Diamond Club, both were incredible. Vicente in the Indian restaurant and Christopher in the Steak House were outstanding and handled a small mix up perfectly. Hennessy in the spa had a phenomenal sense of humor and Julia gave the best massage. Franqui, the AmStar rep, was friendly and not pushy. I also appreciated that staff never pressured us about timeshare presentations. The beach was beautiful, and though seaweed made it tough at times, the crew cleared it each morning. Ask for the Ruth Special in the Diamond Club lounge with Don Julio and her secret mix. Bring plenty of cash for tips, the staff truly earn it. Overall, amazing vibe, fun atmosphere, and unforgettable stay. Would absolutely return.

First visit to the Dominican Republic!

We had an incredible first visit to the Dominican Republic! The hotel atmosphere was vibrant, and the friendly staff made it unforgettable. Lissette, Glendra, and Ray at the pool were fantastic, keeping us entertained with fun activities and great music.

I would not recommend

Room need to be upgraded, food mid, like very not impressed. Room service have no good options for pescatarian or vegetarians! The butler tried to be very accommodating. Only one bar served premium liquor. No good entertainment. Overall wasn’t happy for my first experience out the country

This place is horrible

Check in was nightmare, and just got into our smelly room, smells of mold, and it’s incredibly sad. I am considering flying home. I have traveled all over the world, and never written a review, but felt the need to tell everyone to never come here. Go to the Cap Cana region of the island, it is a night and day experience.

The staff was amazing. The resort itself was outdated. Something inside my room bite me really badly. I stayed in the diamond club side. Ran out of pineapple juice and ice at the bars. Bar outside of the diamond club bar had below bottom shelf liquor. Food was ok. I went during the weekend. Most night the club was not open or did not have a dj. The staff was great but resort was not a good experience

Good Experience

My family and I were there for 6 days. For the most part, we had a great experience, there were a few things that we didn't like such as, they don't provide a straw for your frozen drinks, we found 🪳🪳 almost every day in our room, we had to ask for tissues, toilet paper and towels AFTER our room had been served, we rented a private cabana and 2 hours past by before someone came to bring us a bottle opener or offer us anything to eat.
We loved the beach and the pools, they were nice and clean. The food was good too, specially Piscarì, the buffet was good too (but repetitive) s/o to Vicente he was an excellent server and went the extra mile to accommodate us.
My BIGGEST disappointment was the music, I love Bachata and they NEVER played it (not once) I didn't go to the night club but during the day by the pool where the entertainment was, all they played was a little bit of reggeaton and Merengue and the rest non-Spanish music. I understand that they need to please their audience (which mostly was Caucasian) but I also wanted to be please with Spanish music.. afterall I was in the Dominican Republic. I left very disappointed 😞

Don't go here!!

This place is a joke. Don't ever go here. We are here with a large group. There have been so many issues with rooms that the resort seems uninterested in fixing. One group of 3 with us paid to upgrade to a room with 2 beds, they were given a room with 1 king, & broken air conditioner. They have been trying to resolve it for 24 hours and have had promise after promise made to bring the bed but nothing. Other rooms are missing telephones, remote controls, hair dryers. We are a group with roughly 20 rooms and all have issues. The food is unremarkable, service is slow. We almost all agree this is one of the worst resorts we've been to. Im going to give it one star only because I can't do a zero!

Excellent butler service on our holiday!

We came to the Royalton Chic to celebrate our anniversary. Our Butler, Roberto Ventura, was excellent and really made our stay exceptional! He was friendly, attentive, professional, knowledgeable, showed great attention to detail, and made sure all of our needs were met and exceeded. AVOID THIS RESORT AT ALL COSTS!!

this was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered at an all-inclusive resort. I flew with 17 of my friends for a bachelor party and everything started from the check-in experience which was absolutely horrible.

I had booked a double bed, but when I got to the resort, they put me in a single bed occupancy. We are grown men and absolutely unable to share beds.

Unfortunately, we had no choice but to settle for what they had given us the next day they said they would put me in a double bed, which would not be available until 5 PM and had to check out of my existing room at 12 PM which gives me five hours of no room.

This is completely unacceptable. I’ve never stayed at any place where they kicked you out before having your new room ready especially for five hours.

The only thing I want to give credit to is CHEF SAROJ from Tandori. He would absolutely amazing. His food tasted incredible. He made us feel extremely homely, and we ended up eating their 3 out of the 6 days.

We tried all the other restaurants, and they simply could not match to the level of food and hospitality that I received from Tandori.

Would I ever return back to this resort? absolutely not!!!

save yourself the trouble. find a different resort to stay at.

Worst resort ever

Hands down worst resort I’ve ever visited. Diamond club room purchase. Butler service is a joke, heard only from butler on day one and the final day. Lazy and acted like he didn’t want to help.

Tacky sales tables with trinkets set up all over the resort where people haggle you to buy stuff ON the resort.

Unsafe atmosphere. I was yelled at by a sales rep named Collins on the resort for not listening to his sales pirch. He yelled that he was going to be fired if I didn’t agree to go back to the sales area to listen to his pitch.

Unbelievably poor experience for and the only thing I got was an apology from the resort.

There are better resorts to stay at in Punta Cana. This place is anything but luxury.

Great entertainment

We came to the Royalton Chic for vacation. Although the weather was not in our favor we still had a good time. Marcus and Rene at the pool bar were wonderful.
Jacqueline was our housekeeper she was terrific. Our room always was clean, stocked, and ready for us. I will add on more . Thank you Royalton.

Royalton Chic Punta Cana – Disappointing Experience from a Loyal Royalton Guest

First off — book Royalton, but not this one.
I’m a long-time fan of the Royalton brand — so much so that I’m a Prime Package owner partnered with the brand. My introduction was at the Royalton Chic in Mexico, which remains my favorite resort. Since then, I’ve visited five Royalton properties across the Caribbean. This was my first stay in Punta Cana, and unfortunately, it will be my last.

Property & Maintenance

The upkeep at this property is well below Royalton standards. Multiple areas in our room had visible mold. Maintenance came in — instead of addressing the root cause — and simply painted over it, leaving uneven walls, messy paint lines, and splatter on the furniture. You’ll see this in the attached photos.
Tables were scratched, chairs had paint marks, and several fixtures looked poorly maintained. Around the grounds, exposed electrical boxes and raised pool panels stayed untouched our entire four-day stay, creating safety hazards.

Gym & Spa
• Gym: Small but functional — about 10 machines total (2 treadmills, 2 stationary bikes, 1 free-weight area). Clean and well-kept. Solid 8/10.
• Spa: The bright spot of the trip. Well-maintained, quiet, and peaceful. My only issue — none of the lockers in the men’s area worked, so I had to return to my room to store valuables.

Dining & Service

Here’s where the experience fell apart. Every day, a different restaurant was suddenly closed — no notice, no communication.
• Day 1: Buffet closed — had to scramble for dinner reservations, most already full.
• Day 2: Another restaurant unexpectedly closed.
This continued each day with no consistent communication.

Even with Diamond Club assistance, dinner service was poor. One night we had 8 PM reservations but weren’t seated until 8:30 — and then sat another 15 minutes with no service. We left without eating for the second night in a row.

Room service takes a minimum of 90 minutes, so most days our last meal was lunch by the pool grill.

Excursions & On-Site Services

Excursion staff were fine — nothing special but they got the job done.
Cabanas, however, were misrepresented in what was offered. Issues were often met with “I’m sorry” but never actually fixed.

Overall Impression

Individual staff were polite and tried to help where they could. But the lack of management oversight was obvious everywhere — in the rooms, in the facilities, and in guest communication.

After experiencing five Royalton properties, I can confidently say this was the weakest one. I would not recommend Royalton Chic Punta Cana to anyone — and I will never return.

Butler experience

This was our second time at this hotel and it was exactly what we were expecting. Our butlers Rosa & Gina were incredible and made sure our stay was comfortable, that we had everything we needed and went over and above to make sure we wanted for nothing whilst staying.

We went diamond club which gives you access to 'diamond only' areas, premium drinks and priority service with the butlers. The butlers are more of a liaison than something who's running after your every whim which suited us perfectly for what we wanted the staff are a really big highlight of this hotel for us.

I would highly recommend this service and these 2 individuals in particular for making sure you have an amazing holiday.

Nightmare Hotel

Well !!! Where do I start.

This hotel was a nightmare, we had so many issue. This is the list of from we had each day. The staff were useless. No wanted to help.

On the 1st day there was no buffer or any information about the hotel

Had to wait for our room to ready on arrival of our first day.

No beach towels. Took over a hour - 16th Oct

No buffet friday 17th due a wedding and most of the restaurants where full and the hotel did not inform the guest that the buffet was closed

No hot water 14th oct

No napkins 14th Oct and the dinner was next to the pool…had no choice where to seat and we were told, as the tables had to be shared

No TV from the day we arrived

Food was cold, tasteless poor choice and kept running out
Munchie Bar was the same no chicken 14th Oct kept running out

Day and evening alcohol kept running i.e red wine , vodka and other drinks 14th Oct.

Staff were always on there phone

Pool side toilets flooded male and female to outside.

Our room was serviced and no great towel were left and keeping call reception - Thursday 16th oct

Staff don’t acknowledge complaints

Power cut in the room

No duvet cover for two days

They gave us a complimentary SPA even that they got wrong on the last day

Thursday 16th October our bathroom sink got blocked. This was very annoying. We asked for extra water for our room and the staff refused. But yet they used bottled water to unblock our sink. How does that work ?

We paid for an all inclusive holiday and we didn’t get what we paid for. I thought the hotel need upgrading , food & drinks need to be sorted out.

I understand it’s out of season but it was a busy hotel

Great stay

Beautiful resort in the DR. We stayed in a Diamond ocean view suite. Our Butler Samuel went above and beyond making sure our stay was special. From Dinner Reservations, to special requests he made sure we were taken care of. I recommend you request Samuel if you book your stay. We spent most of our time at the Pool and if you do, make sure you get a chair where Rosa is serving. This woman is fun, nows how to ensure you have a good time and keeps your drinks flowing. They did a good job with nightly entertainment and our trip flew by. We enjoyed our time at Royalton Chic.
