Riu Palace met my expectations!

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas has it all! Great food, entertainment, amazing pools, and great customer service! The steak house was delicious, but so was the buffet. The staff was first class. I have no complaints. If I ever return to Cabo, Riu Palace is my go-to resort!

You can do better in Cabo

The staff was great and friendly room was huge and clean but did not live up to expectations. The jacuzzi on the deck did not work and the jetted tub when used had a strange brown film that was behind after use. The buffet was good over all the street tacos from Pepe’s were much better. The steak house serves sirloins not filets so understand that as you make your dinner selection.
The other issue I had was with the other “guests” not once but twice my pool towel was taken while I was in the pool on the second to last day my slides were taken as well. Now this was probably done by some drunken person who was over served at the bar but I’m the one taking loss for your non responsible service of alcohol. They make you pay for the towels if you don’t turn them back in. What ever you do don’t let your cellphone wallet or passport out of your site. I came to the “resort” to relax not fight for my personal property

Pleasant Surprise

High value for the money. Excellent staff. Clean and appleaing rooms and overall buildings. Everything is conveniently located. Th ebeach access is excellent and all is kept very tidy. Pools are amazing. We were in an area that did not suffer from any loud noise. Only shortcoming is food. The buffet is plentiful but not exactly yummy. The specialty restaurants need improvement. I will definitely be back.

Birthday Celebration

My birthday celebration with friends at the resort was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The employees were very nice and accommodating to our needs. The food, amenities, entertainment and options available for off-resort activities were also great. Overall our 6 day stay was awesome!

Riu

We arranged ground transportation from the airport through Riu palace Cabo and they had a representative at the airport and they left us sitting out in the hot sun for over one hour not a good way to start a vacation. And we did online check-in and still had to wait half hour at the hotel to check in and our room was not ready. The resort was nice and the food was good and our rooms were very good as expected with a partial ocean view.

Lovely Resort for adults

This is a lovely resort fir adult. I did see children while we were there but honestly, did not see too much for them to do other than play on the beach or the swimming pool/slide in RIU Santa Fe. The rooms were cleaned and supplied with fresh towels daily. Food was great and had variety of options. Would definitely use this as a couples getaway or girl's trip:)

A nice place to stay!

Overall the Hotel and food/drink venue's were great. I've stayed @ RIU Palace in Costa Rica and it was a bit run down. The Palace in Cabo was much more kept up. Complaints - Entertainment for Adults started too late. The Event Coordinator should take a look @ Costa Rica's plan. The AC in the room emitted a "bang" sound when activating and turning off. Unfortunately it sounded like someone was trying to open your door. This was experienced by other travelers in my group.

Nice all inclusive

Room was perfect on the main floor on the beach front ocean view. Housekeeping did a fabulous job even turn down service in the evening. Poolside service was excellent with Gary as our main server. The hotel
Is beautiful and very well maintained. The buffet was good but I would have to say not as good as my previous stays at RIU hotels. Perhaps they should focus on quality and less on variety. Also somewhat overcooked in some cases. I would like to see more salad selection for example maybe coleslaws potato salads seafood salad etc. They did have some but they were not always very good. I’ve been going to RIU for over 15 years and the buffet used to be fabulous 5/5 now it is 3/5.

Birthday Celebration with my Family

i truly enjoyed my stay here and I only have one complaint about the rooms and that is that there were a few roaches in the room, but I didn't not complain about it because I wanted to focus on having a great experience since it was my first time traveling out of my country. So overall my experience was great I loved it and I would come again.

Wonderful Time

Stayed at this resort for 9 days. All of the staff were very nice and helpful. Everyone was very polite. The food was good and consistent. Breakfast at the buffet was good every morning. We particularly liked El Medano and Misaki for dinner. There are waits at these restaurants, even during the week, but they give you a buzzer and you can go anywhere on the resort and it will still work. So you can go back to your room or head to a nearby bar while you wait. The pool was nice. There are two large pools. We never had any issue finding pool chairs no matter the time of day. They do several engaging activities during the day at the pool. Our favorite was Bingo. The rooms were very clean and come with full bottles of alcohol that you can just make your own drinks right there in your room if you want. They consistently restocked the mini fridge. The beach is beautiful. The sand is clean and the water is really nice, however I would not consider it a swimmable beach. The waves are quite large with a strong current and there's a large drop off. But just relaxing out in the sand was very nice.
My biggest complaint is the hall noise. If you like to sleep in on vacation this can be a little difficult. They push carts up and down the halls on tiled floor and it's very loud. Also neighboring rooms opening and closing their front doors is also very loud.
Overall I would recommend this resort for someone who wants the option of just having a relaxing time or wants a little more of a party.

My review

Was a wonderful time.
The negatives: Outdated TV programming
You should have options for streaming TV services so people can login and watch.
Like Netflix Prime TV, etc. Instead, we had movies from 1980s and the rest Spanish-speaking TV. We are people from all over the world coming to Mexico, but doesn’t mean we wanna watch Mexican TV.
You should have people manicuring the lawns, washing the floors, etc., very early in the morning when people are not out and about.
Very annoying to be lying in the pool and hearing the sound of a blower or lawnmower or whatever. That’s the crap we leave behind at home. Don’t want to hear about my vacation.
And there should be some kind of noise ordinance. If you wanna take a nap, forget about it. The DJ music out in the pool is so loud I can’t think in my own room.
Would be nice if we had an ability to charge the phone on both side sides of the bed.

Positives:
The food, the people working there all awesome.
Our room was very nice especially the bathroom.
The pools were very nice, especially the little pools with a bar in them.
Overall, we had a great time and it was a wonderful stay.

Beautiful place to stay

Second time at the Riu Palace in Cabo, its a gem. If you’ve never been to Cabo I’d highly recommend the Riu Palace.

Wonderful Stay

We spent our wedding anniversary at the RIU and had just a wonderful time. There is enough entertainment at the hotel itself through the pool activities, shows and a piano bar. The views are absolutely breathtaking at this hotel. We got their top room, which is the corner panoramic sea view room with a jacuzzi, and it was top notch. Hotel reception is very accommodating and friendly, along with all of the hard working waiters, bar staff and service people. The only reason for the 4 star is that the mini bar could use some improvement. There was no food or snacks, so you have to go downstairs to eat anything. But all around an excellent place to stay.
