Inclusive

We arrived and to be fair, check in and rooms were very good. However the following day the hotel lobby was closed and refurbishing work was started. No lobby area and bars available. The gym was shut 10days out of the 14 we were there.
The staff were nice, no need to keep tipping but if it makes you feel good why not.
Buffet food not brilliant but enough choices to get you through. Some other restaurants need sorting out. The Mexican and Italian not good. The Japanese good, the Tapas ok. The best of the bunch is the Grill - a tip you can have breakfast and lunch there without having to book.
Animation team are good and if you wish to engage then do so, you may have some fun.
Team member 911 was always good for a laugh.
The beach bar was always worth a visit and Karen was very good at keeping our drinks full and really engaging, thank you.
Romon Perez, the manager at the Grill really was a true professional and again looked after us at times making us feel that little “extra special” again thank you.
The main pool in places need looking at, especially the pool floor.
All in all we visited in the “quiet season” so refurbishing was expected but it did unfortunately spoil our experience hence the 3 rating.
The weather was lovely so that helped a lot.
The beach wasn’t brilliant but nature is nature, seaweed was cleared as best as possible and to be fair it wasn’t that bad.
The sea was warm and the clientele was as expected, we met some very nice people.
Personally I don’t think upgrading to Premium is worth it at present but that is only our option (four of us).
There are better hotels, you get what you pay for but for the price we paid for the Impressive it was worth it. There are more expensive hotels in the area which have their own issues.
You make your own fun at the end of the day and you get out what you put in.
Glad we stayed here but we won’t revisit.
We all have our own opinions and this is just mine.

Honest review

We both got very ill from the food at this hotel and my partner was admitted to hospital on return to the UK.

Hotel
Overall the hotel is a large complex with multiple pools and choice of restaurants. Lots of greenery and nice on the beach location.

Buffet
The buffet food was poor quality, cold, and lacked flavour.

The A La Cartes
Japenese and Steakhouse were OK. Tapas was below par. Would avoid the Mexican.

Room
The rooms were of a decent quality and were cleaned daily.

Service
The staff are friendly, however there was a language barrier as only two or three staff we spoke to spoke English. We made the effort to speak Spanish where we could, but not handy when trying to complain.

We were told on arrival by our TUI rep that the hotel receives many complaints and not to have high expectations

Good hotel, Bad service and Spanish resort

Great hotel with a good size swimming pool and a lovely beach with a beautiful sea. Service at this hotel is really poor we are still on holiday here and servers take forever to get drinks and at dinner for cutlery. Food is a little cold have to time it right from when it comes out of the kitchen. The rooms are huge and lovely would bring bite cream as mosquitoes are lurking. Reception is being repaired/renewed should have been told this and should have a part refund for the inconvenience as checking in took ages. Finally would like to shout out Miguel from the Grill restaurant a legend and service was impeccable and how it should be everywhere and great English was a wonderful time. Wouldn’t go if I was English and couldn’t speak Spanish as all activities in Spanish and staff struggle to speak English.

Had a great time at Impressive Punta Cana

I went to Impressive Resort in Punta Cana from October 9-13 2025. Everytime was really good except for the food. Needs spice, there were lots of bland foods. Stay away from the pasta (very bland), I recommend the mangu, fried white cheese and the roasted / fried chicken. They need more entertainment on the beach and the pool. The animation team isn’t that talented but i highly recommend the Michael Jackson show in the Theater. Areas in the resort need more production so guests know what the resort offers. Fitness and game room always remained empty. People whom provide great service were: Radames from the buffet, Elizabeth Ramon, Julissa Gonzalez, Nelson from room service, Willy Ramos from guest service. Claudia Rivera from the buffet (treated my family exceptionally well), Tomasa from house keeping, Victor the pool bartender

NOT SO IMPRESIVE PUNTA CANA

Arrived for a week all inclusive, booked through Booking.com
On checking in , very little information given about the hotel and what was on offer to guests.
The location of the hotel is fine, the beach was very clean and the pools were cleaned every day. The rooms were spacious with a mini bar of soft drinks and water, daily cleaning and fresh bedding and towels issued. Fresh towels for the beach and pools daily
5 themed restaurants on site, food was bland and very small portions.
Main buffet, food was also bland
Bars - many on the complex - however very slow in serving drinks.
Night time entertainment was very poor, however the LED DJ show was exceptionally good but the staff appeared over whelmed by the amount of people who attended
If you are looking for an average all inclusive then this is fine

Big mistake

This hotel is under major construction. When we got there of course they hit us with an upgrade to get away from the construction so of course we did. Went to the premium side for $480.00 can. Then to find out all that gave us was a room over there and premium liquor ( if you could get the beach bar tenders to serve you). We still were not the gold bracelets. only the silver ones. Could not use there lounge or their restaurant . Most of the staff was great but the 2 beach bar tenders were not good at all. The loud guy for the first couple days only waited mostly on one group who was partying with him. The other guy tried to keep up with the rest of the crowd but it was hard. The room were good , clean the pool were good but only one you could get into to relax the other two even the premium one was loud and people playing games so you could get hit with a ball. All and all I would not go back or recommend this resort.

Good bang for your buck

The location was absolutely beautiful, the premises were clean and well maintained. Service was very good and the food delicious and abundant. Although the main reception lobby was getting a new roof the makeshift reception was well organized and the check in and check out were fast and easy.
The room is quite dated in decor, but the initial impression is of cleanliness. However the strong smell of mold is something you cannot get rid of. Our biggest annoyance was with the entrance door to the room, it is a heavy wooden door that swells up in the humidity and we had to slam in with our hips to get it to open. That is a definite issue with elderly clients.
For the price we paid it is a good value for sure, as the entertainment and overall convenience makes up for the room deficiencies.

Good place

It was a good hotel. Sadly when we went there were expanding and construction going on. So that was a bit disruptive.
The rooms we had were ok. We were supposed to be in better rooms but ended up in twin rooms rather than a king size.
Food was not bad. The chefs were really accomodating and prepared specific meals for us upon request. That is a 5 star.
Bars were good, but I think they need more staff and the wait did get quite long. Finally need to sort their coffee machines at the bars as most did not have any except near reception where they had a coffee bar and that was really good, but it was quite small and could take a while to get your coffee fix.

Extremely Disappointed — Not Worth the Stay

I stayed at Impressive Punta Cana for three days and two nights with my family (5 adults and a 2-year-old baby who had the flu) to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.

From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. There was no parking available, and we were surprised to see that the hotel was under construction, something that was never mentioned before our arrival. The check-in took place at a temporary stand inside one of the hotel’s venues, and the process was disorganized and disrespectful. While other guests were offered seats, we had to remain standing during the entire check-in.

At first, they couldn’t find our reservation, and later they said there were no rooms available on the ground floor, even though my mother cannot climb stairs. Since it was raining heavily, we requested an umbrella to go to the bathroom to clean and change the baby, but were told that none were available. When I politely asked a staff member outside if I could borrow her umbrella (literally right next to her), she refused. Thankfully, a very kind man named Robert, who was cleaning the theater area, lent us his umbrella and told us we could keep it for the rest of our stay.

In addition, they charged for my nephew, but never gave him a bracelet or towels, and during the check-in process, the receptionist even mentioned that they should not have charged for the baby at all. This shows a serious lack of organization and communication among the staff.

After waiting more than three hours, we were finally given the rooms, but two were occupied and only one was clean. The bellboy ( Jaime ) was the one who helped us resolve the situation and assisted us with our luggage as well.

Throughout the stay, the service was terrible. We couldn’t make any reservations for the themed restaurants for the whole group, so I ended up spending my birthday dinner alone at the Japanese restaurant. Later, when I joined my family at the buffet, we waited 45 minutes just to get water. My father went to get it himself, but the waitress told him he couldn’t and had to wait at the table.

The next morning, we called to ask what time the breakfast buffet closed, and we were told 10:30 a.m. We arrived at 10:12 a.m. with the baby, but they told us the restaurant was already closed since 10:00 a.m. The food overall was not good, and the service was terrible.

We couldn’t rest or sleep well because of the constant noise in the hallways — employees talked loudly to each other early in the morning and late in the evening. On our last morning, at 7:15 a.m., a housekeeper knocked on my sister’s door while the baby was still sleeping, and when my sister answered, she simply said, “Who else? The housekeeper.”

As an independent travel agent who has inspected many hotels, I can confidently say this has been the worst hotel I have ever visited. The hotel urgently needs to improve customer service, organization, and consistency in how guests are treated. It was also disappointing to notice that Dominican guests were treated differently from foreign guests, which is unacceptable in a resort that welcomes both local and international visitors.

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant or relaxing stay in Punta Cana.

Fantastic Holiday at the Impressive

Had an amazing holiday, beautiful grounds, fantastic beach front location, immaculate and very comfortable rooms, we upgraded to the premium package, worth every penny.
The main thing that made our stay so special had to be the staff, 2 members in particular Noel, our butler and our housekeeper, Deloures, both always going above and beyond to make sure we were very well looked after with nothing been to much trouble at all, we felt very welcome and wanted , we can’t thank them enough for their hospitality and the amazing job they do, well done guys, you did the resort proud and your superiors should be very proud of you both.

Horrible service and personal

It was a horrible experience, horrible service, very bad food! I left a $2 tip for the maids every day and the room was not even cleaned, the sheets were not changed, they did not sweep or wash the floor once a week! We did not have shower gel for 3 days, we washed ourselves with shampoo! I left the bottle open to fill us with shower gel but they did not! The maids came to the rooms only to put clean towels, make our bed but without changing the sheets, and they filled our minibar every day! The rooms are big and beautiful but the cleanliness leaves much to be desired! The people are not welcoming at all! The employees are super arrogant and don't even notice you! You need an appointment for the restaurants, we made an appointment at the Mexican and Italian restaurants! The Mexican one was horrible, starting with the food and the service! The staff insisted so much that we had to buy wines that we had to pay for, besides the fact that they were not good at all, we were completely disappointed, they didn't bring us the drinks which were two juices! After the first course we gave up on dessert and the drink and left!
The second night we went to the Italian restaurant, the service was great! You could tell they didn't belong to the hotel, the staff was super respectful and the food was delicious! The beach is gorgeous with fine, beautiful sand! We liked the fact that they gave us towels and we could change them whenever we wanted! The beach is super beautiful with fine and special sand! To expensive for what they offered!
