Swing and a MISS!

I shall preface this review with the fact that I based my decision to stay here partly based on prior reviews, but also because I had stayed the Hyatt Ziva in PV and had a wonderful experience.

The arrival was fine. Bellman were friendly and we were shown to the front desk to check in. We were not made aware of a special check-in area based on my Hyatt status, but it was still a pleasurable experience. Friendly staff and we were given an upgrade based on status to a larger room in the same category. We were also given "club" access. All great. The grounds of the property were nice once you got into the property. Overall maintenance is good, from what we could tell.

We went with one of the "remodeled" rooms when we booked, and the rooms are really nice. Beautiful overall from a looks standpoint. Our biggest issue with the room were the pillows and mattress. The mattress was really soft, to the point where both my wife and I developed pretty bad sciatica issues by our last two days. To top it off, the pillows were so tiny it was funny. They were smaller than standard queen size pillows. Just weird.

Where things really went awry was with food & beverage. I could write a novel on every restaurant and bar we tried, but ill stick to overall thoughts and a few specifics.

Breakfast - just bad. Whether it was the buffet or the club lounge, we had consistent issues every single day. On the good side, the amount of offerings is solid, but that is about it. Quality, temperature, and cleanliness were just awful. It got to the point where we would just go grab some pastry's from the coffee shop and avoided real breakfast. Service at the buffet, as is with most all-inclusive resort buffets, was horrid. We only actually got our coffee before we had finished eating on one morning. We rarely had hot food and the quality aside from one or two items, was really poor.

Pool Bars/Service - Hit and miss. We had 2 days where we had good service. One of them was when we had paid for a cabana, and the other was after we mentioned we couldnt get service to our "concierge". The drink quality just wasn't up to par. Drinks were weak and they didnt know how to make a number of drinks, some as simple as a daquiri. The rockstar food of the entire trip though was the small pop-up areas next to the pool where you get quesadilla's and nachos. Made fresh, it was hot, and good quality!

Specialty Restaurants - Italian and Hibachi and the seafood restaurant for lunch, were the only restaurants where i would say the food was fair to good. Service at every restaurant was awful. There were no brand standards being maintained. Steps of service - out the window! If you asked a question, whether in English or Spanish, you couldn't get a response. The food at some of the restaurants was some of the worst i have ever experienced at a resort anywhere.

Lastly, we got stuck indoors for a day and a half due to the hurricane, which is fine, but what really was a bummer was the lack of impromptu events/indoor movies, etc for programming during this time. They sent us the updated itinerary every day, and the changed events due to weather in most cases didnt take place.

Overall, maybe they were just off their game as it was post summer, but Hyatt lost me as a guest on international travel moving forward after this trip.

Love it!

This was our second stay at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos and we have nothing but great things to say about the resort. The staff are all polite and accommodating.
We had a cabana for 3 days of our stay and were taken care of exceptionally well by Alejandro, Saul, and Miguel.
The El Mirador bar is a must. Alfredo makes amazing cocktails and even made us specialty off menu cocktails and shots. Him and his partner Cinthia are so nice and the service is great.

Simply Amazing!

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is an amazing resort! The staff is very friendly and welcoming! Jair, Alejandro, Cinthia, Juanita, Juan David, and Ricardo are some of the staff members that made our trip memorable. We went with a group of 50 and they took care of all our needs and went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time! We would definitely come back again in a heart beat.

Amazing hotel!

Hyatt Ziva Cabo is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. The food is fantastic, and the entertainment is outstanding. The rooms are clean and roomy, and the staff are very friendly. A special thanks to my friends—by the pool, Manny (Manuel) the Best server in town. and Irwin, who served the best coconuts in town. I truly appreciate you making this trip enjoyable. Nice but won’t go back

The property was in a beautiful setting. We stayed in a newly renovated room. It was nice but had a weird odor. On Day 2, the wall switch for the ceiling fan started smoking. We very lucky that we were in the room at the time to shut off the power and call for maintenance. They took off the plate and found one of the wires not connected and hanging. Although fixed, I wished they would have moved us to a different room for peace of mind. The hotel was not busy.

Not worth the money

Upon arrival we were escorted to the club check-in which was quick and nice.
We had paid for a studio club level oceanfront room which had a great view. However, on the first day we had no hot water and our air conditioning was not working. We called maintenance and they came up but were unable to fix the issue. The first night was almost unbearable with no working AC and still no hot water. Our second day we were moved to a new room where we had air conditioning and hot water so the resort did a great job of fixing our issue..
But the inconvenience of having to change rooms was not good. Overall the food is not good here. The only good meals we had were at the French restaurant. What made up for everything was the service. Jorge at Baja and the lobby bar did a great job and it was his first week at this resort. Santiago by the pool and Raul with bike aqua aerobics and Carlos who helped us move our bags to our new room. Extra special service was given by Marcus Villanueva at the club lounge who always remembered us and our drink preferences. Also, our butler, Carlos Lopez did an amazing job of taking care of us all week and providing service over and above. Overall for the price we paid this resort was not worth it. But, we are thankful for all of the workers who provided great service

One of our best staycations!

We had an excellent stay at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. We stayed in a deluxe oceanfront room in the newly renovated building that had gorgeous views. The staff was beyond amazing and accommodated all our needs with a toddler. The food is great considering an All-inclusive, they have a healthy bar and some of the fine-dining restaurants such as Dozo ( Hibachi ) and Italian restaurants were really good. Would definitely visit again!

Awesome staff and great food

Food was great. There’s a good variety of restaurants and activities around the hotel so there’s always something to do. Our favorites were the Grill House and Mahika Indian Restaurant. Uzi was our server at the Grill House and he was amazing. Mario is the manager at the Indian restaurant and he kept checking in to make sure we were good. You can tell he actually cares about feedback.

Other than that we hung around the adult pool and played cards all day, partook in some of the water activities that Raul hosted, and went into the downtown area. Would come again.

Ok at best

over all it was a ok trip. We have stayed at a few places in Cabo I would not be returning to this one. Our hotel butler was great he did all he could to make our experience good. But I will say the all inclusive is NOT all inclusive. The other resorts I have stayed at in the past you can upgrade to top shelf liquor here you can’t. The rooms are nice we stayed in the newly renovated side, the overall hygiene of the pool areas and resort was not up to our standards. There is more value at other resorts.

Until we meet again!

We loved our return visit to Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos! We met many lovely couples while dining at Dozo for Teppanyaki, which added to the joy of our stay. We want to thank the following servers for their warmth and kindness which added to the great memories of Hyatt Ziva! Hacienda Restaurant: Uzzi is a personable & great waiter, who took time to get to know us. Greece is a wonderful Manager of the restaurant who made us feel very special with her personal touches. The Cadillac margaritas at Hacienda were the best! The buffet at breakfast & lunch was a special time with Cristina, Jose, Christian , Jair. We have known them for years now and each time they greet us with big hugs and it’s very heart warming. The omelet chef is excellent!!! She is a pro. We loved the special treat of sushi and cook to order seafood and steak etc. at lunch in the buffet. We were so grateful and enjoyed the meals very much and hospitality.
Dozo is wonderful ! Sergio is a fabulous chef at the teppanyaki grill and presented a wonderful meal for us all (memorable). See you again Hyatt Ziva ; we thank you for the great vacation , once again!

The BEST Birthday trip EVER!!

Where do I begin? Hmm , well that's easy, from the minute we got arrived to the resort, we were greeted with cold towels and champagne 🥂 That was our first impression. Thoughtful. Then they escorted us to the lounge where we checked in- this was quick! Standard checking in with no waiting. We were then greeted by our exceptional butler Miss Catalina, and concierge services- Miss Montserrat and Mr. Edgar who communicated with us prior to our stay, and during.

Miss Catalina kept us informed daily about the activities, and made dinner reservations for us too! She communicated periodically to see if we needed anything, and had thoughtful gestures in our room. It was my birthday, so she made sure I had birthday cakes daily - Thank you for adding to my lbs 😂

My thoughtful boyfriend rented out Cabana #30 that was conveniently located in the middle of the beach, and near the infinity pool. This was when we had the pleasure of having Mr. Miguel be assigned to us. He made sure that our glasses and stomach was never empty, despite how incredibly busy he was!

On his well needed off day, Mr. Saul, Abad , and Mr. Juan took great care of us. Even though it was hard to follow after Mr. Miguel. But, to our surprise, all of them delivered exceptional customer service!

We ate daily at the buffet - La Plaza where we were greeted by the lovely Miss Margarita. We sincerely wanted to take her home with us, because her presence and smile was infectious! She definitely loves her job and it shows!

Mr. Esteban and the manager at the steakhouse, made sure that my boyfriend and I had a great experience for my birthday.

The adult pool was blessed with Miss Juanita tacos. I can safely say I had at least 67 taco"s during our stay, and thanks to my boyfriend for reminding me that I did indeed had 95 taco's during our stay 😂. #sorryNOTsorry

Overall, we had a PHENOMENAL experience at this resort, and we're definitely planning on returning for my boyfriend's birthday in December!

We also had the honor of meeting the general manager Mr Ricardo.
Mr Ricardo, you're doing an EXCEPTIONAL job with the resort, and the SUPERB staff!!

Amazing Resort

I was very excited upon arriving at this resort for our nephew's wedding. I was disappointed that our room wasn't ready until 4:00pm as we had dinner plans & were running late, but JJ, the general manager made up for it & made sure our stay was pleasant going forward. All the staff was wonderful & these are the people that make our vacations great. Thanks to Greecia for getting me my creme Brulee from another restaurant, that's going above & beyond. All the staff at this resort were very helpful & attentive, always greeting you with a smile. Our room was one of the newest rooms & the resort, we loved it, it was very nice & clean. I have to say, this resort was one of the best that I have stayed at. I really enjoyed the food at all the restaurants that we ate at & the pool area was nice also. We went for a family wedding & we all had a great time. So thanks to all the staff at Hyatt Ziva, we will definitely be back.

Hyatt Ziva Scam

We booked this place 6 months in advance. A week prior to our arrival, the hotel staff (A. Guevara) reached out to ask the ages of our kids & how can they be of assistance. We replied back their ages. When we arrived they charged us an extra $1,046.93 because or kids were considered adults despite having told them a week prior being 9 & 11 years of age. Sadly, one of our kids got food poisoning too. We told them their ages a week prior yet they still charged us that amount. Never again Hyatt ziva. Avoid it unless you want to be scammed for a mediocre resort stay.

Amazing hospitality all around

We will come back here for sure. We used to go to Le Blanc and pay 2k a night. Ziva is just as nice or nicer and we had so much more fun. Thank you for everything.

October 2025 stay

Stayed for 6 nights. Everyday there is several activities! Staff is so welcoming and friendly. No food, drinks, or ice made us sick. I have been to Mexico before and had gotten sick so was very hesitant to go back and no issues!! All water is bottled ice is filtered. The swim out rooms are amazing and so convenient! Adults only pool has the best tacos at lunch! Pool snacks are great. Completely full bar at all times! Room service 24 hours along with the coffee shop!! Lobby bar and sports bar are amazing. Martini bar for trivia! The gift shop on site has so much! CINTHIA (lobby bar) TRINIDAD (butler) he went absolutely above and beyond as well as & ALBERTO or ROBERTO... AMAZING. Zero complaints.

Excellent staff working at this resort.

Great resort staff.. Raul, Francisco made activities fun for us. Jose and Jennifer at the Casa Cortez went above and beyond. Raphael was an awesome concierge Some activities for groups but it is an area that could be improved.

Amazing vacation

It was amazing great location , great food. Karaoke night was amazing , great animation and vibes , make us feel comfortable and happy .Everyone is super nice. Specially at the kids clubs Selene was amazing , her great customer service, gratitude, polite taking care of our daughter was amazing . My daughter was soo happy . I appreciated it .
