The resort was outstanding: entertainment superb, restaurants and bars excellent, and hotel's services same. The Luigi's restaurant was so good that I recommend if you like Italian, the manager Tomas always provided an elite service.

Lovely place to stay, right on the beach
The hotel is lovely. Reception area very light, spacious and cool. Bars were good and staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurants were all good but needed some light music for atmosphere. A lot of sunbeds need to be replaced around the pools but beach ones were good.

Fantastic holiday at Riu Palace Punta Cana
Very good hotel, although it has to be renovated. Swimming pools are fantastic and so is the beach infront of the hotel. Entertainment must be improved especially the evening programs.

From the moment we arrived, the staff affectionately called our group of 13 “La Familia”, and they meant it. Every single day, we felt welcomed, cared for and genuinely appreciated. Traveling with kids can be chaotic, but the team was incredible with them - patient, playful and kind in ways that went far beyond their job descriptions.
Rubiella and Jose at the main buffet were absolute gems. They greeted us like old friends every morning and night, always making sure our big crew was taken care of. Jensy at the lunch buffet was just as awesome - kind, attentive and always smiling.
Salomon and Isaias brought the energy all week long. Their entertainment was fun, engaging and inclusive. They made sure “La Familia” was part of everything. We laughed a lot because of those two.
And Osirus and Alfredo? Legends. They kept our drinks cold, our spirits high, and made every pool and beach day feel like a celebration. Service like that turned a good vacation into a great one.
By the end of the week, these weren’t just staff members - they were friends. We hugged them goodbye. There were tears. That says everything.
Travel isn’t always perfect, but when you’re surrounded by kind people who truly care, the hiccups don’t matter. We will absolutely come back, not just for the beautiful location, but to see our new extended family again.

We just returned home from an unforgettable stay in the Dominican Republic, and while our trip had a few bumps (a little illness in the group and a minor bathroom issue in one of the rooms), what truly made this vacation extraordinary was the PEOPLE.From the moment we arrived, the staff affectionately called our group of 13 “La Familia”, and they meant it. Would not return
Been to the DR 6 times but first time at this hotel and I would not return.. had to move room 4 times (3 on arrival and once the next day). Restaurants not great, buffet was probably the best one. Sunbeds - not enough, people reserving them and not using them for hours, pool area not very clean. Not much unshaded space on the beach. Highlight for us was Zorri our pool server. Lovely guy and very attentive. Hotel needs refurbishment.

Wonderful Resort and Staff
This was our third trip to Riu Palace Punta Cana, and again it did not disappoint! The building and grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained. The staff are very friendly and courteous.The food overall was very good.

Good experience overall
We enjoyed the hotel for the most part. The grounds and common areas were well maintained and clean. The rooms are outdated. The toilet did not function well and the room had a very musty smell. Mini bar and coffee was not restocked adequately on 2nd day. Food experience was mixed. Steak house and Italian restaurant were good but buffet tended to be mediocre. Food often cold and lacking flavor

We spent 2 weeks at the Riu Palace Punta Cana from 13th of February
First impressions were really good and things just got better the more we got to know the place
Room was great, plenty of space, cleaned every day, fridge restocked everyday and optics in the room, which made it very easy to enjoy a g & t on the balcony !!
Food was great, with plenty of choice in the main buffet restaurant, and you also have unlimited use of the a la carte restaurants during your stay
We only used the Italian and the steak house and they were both excellent
Pool area is great and we had no issue getting sunbeds, but such a long walk to the beach.....I am being sarcastic as it is literally 20 steps from pool to beach and it is a beach to die for......amazing is the only word to describe it
As good as the facilities are, it is the staff who make this such a fabulous place.
All of the staff are great, but I have to give a special mention to Arias in the main restuarant, and Marcos and Ariel who kept us supplied with many, many, many drinks and were great fun to talk to.
We were there as a family of 8 ranging in age from 6 to 62 and I can honestly say that every single one of us loved the place, to the point that we are allready looking at returning same time next year

This was one of the best holidays that I have ever had, even the 9 hour flight seems a distant memoryWe spent 2 weeks at the Riu Palace Punta Cana from 13th of February
First impressions were really good and things just got better the more we got to know the place
Room was great, plenty of space, cleaned every day, fridge restocked everyday and optics in the room, which made it very easy to enjoy a g & t on the balcony !!
Food was great, with plenty of choice in the main buffet restaurant, and you also have unlimited use of the a la carte restaurants during your stay
We only used the Italian and the steak house and they were both excellent
