Once in a life time
First time in DR this place is amazing and the staff is outstanding. A doll name Maria aka Nikki Minaj made my family welcomed and comfortable. Joy boy with his dance moves and remember us by name was the added touch. Because of these two we will definitely be back.

We loved spending our honeymoon at Excellence Punta Cana! The staff was super great especially Maria, Bernardino and Jose. We loved all the food and scenery. We will definitely be coming back.

The staff at check-in, check-out, and in the Excellence Club were amazing. The beach staff did a wonderful job, housekeeping was great, and the grounds and maintenance were excellent. Some of the food was fantastic, while some dishes were just okay. Overall, the resort’s service and restaurants were good and almost deserved a higher rating.
Our favorite place was The Kitchen Table (buffet-style). The staff — Erbin, Griselda, Einstein, Santa, and others — were incredible and went above and beyond our expectations. We also had great experiences at Agave, The Grill, and Chez Isabelle.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have the same experience at Magna (the Excellence Club restaurant). We expected it to be our favorite, but it turned out to be just average. It felt like the service there depended more on social judgment and tipping than on genuine hospitality.
We were warned about how all-inclusive resorts often work — find your favorite spot, get to know a server, tip well, and you’ll be taken care of. I didn’t think that would be completely true, but that’s exactly how it worked. It’s not necessarily bad, but sometimes it feels like certain staff members care more about getting good reviews and tips than about your actual experience.

Everything was amazing! From the complementary transportation, to the concierge and check in very very smooth, the room was excellent! They not only clean the rooms daily but they refresh the fridge and set up your bed/room at the end of the night as well! Spice restaurant with the hibachi was my favorite 😋, the sports bar was great for relaxing, drinking, eating, and watching the games Mr. Eddie helped me while there, the grounds ! The gym! The pools! The beach! Everything is just amazing! Every night they have entertainment Jose and Micheal kept everyone happy and dancing all day from the pool to the dance floor at night. Lastly, I’d like to add this is more for exclusive travel and relaxation, not really a young crowd , and clubbing. Overall I’ll come back for sure.Ps. Bring bug spray lots of mosquitoes at night

Overall, our day was good, but not great. The rooms are nice and we had a good view of the ocean. We enjoyed the private pool that was connected to our room. The staff cleaned our room 2-3 times a day, and were very timely with the cleaning services offered.
We went in October 2025, which is part of the rainy season. Most days were cloudy and/or rainy, but that also meant the resort probably wasn’t as crowded as it normally would be, which was nice.
The nightly entertainment at the resort was pretty good. They had a variety of shows throughout the week. The entertainment team at the resort was very engaging and fun to interact with.
We were there on our honeymoon, and on our last night they put folded towels in the shape of swans and placed rose petals on our bed, as well as drew a bath for us. This was a nice touch for our last night at the resort.
However, now to jump into some not so great things.
The food at the resort was very average. The presentation made everything look nice, but the quality of the food was subpar. The Grill was the only restaurant that we actually enjoyed. However, one time we ate there we sat with a puddle of water at our feet for the duration of our dinner, even after alerting the hostesses (with them saying they would send someone to clean it up, which never happened).
Another night we ate at the Lobster House. Out of all the restaurants, this one by far had the longest wait, both for us to get a seat (over an hour wait) and to get our food. On top of that, I got food poisoning that night from the lobster I ordered. What made things worse, is that I brought up the food poisoning situation multiple times to staff and no one asked any further questions (such as when, where, or what I had to eat), which is extremely concerning.
I will say that the waiters we had at The Grill and the Sports Bar were really good, but everywhere else service was just okay.
The drinks at the resort were also just okay. The piña coladas were really good, but every other drink seemed watered down.
Probably the worst part of our stay (outside of the food poisoning) was certain staff members constantly nagging us and asking if we wanted to sign up for excursions. That happened within our first 5 minutes after checking in and happened all throughout our stay. It was particularly frustrating when we were just trying to enjoy some relaxing time at the pool or the beach and staff were constantly coming up to us trying to get us to sign up for excursions, so be ready for that.
Overall, we still had a good time and made the most of our stay at the resort. There were just a few things that weren’t up to the standard we were expecting when we booked an all-inclusive resort.

Great Time in October
This resort was a great stay! Miguel Angel was great help to and from transportation, Reison provided incredible service on the beach each day, and Leandro and Edzer in the Sports Bar were amazing each night we went to watch the Jays in the World Series. It was not very busy in the October season which meant there was always space at restaurants and good places on the beach. Recommend coming to this resort if you can :)

Another amazing week with a Dominican Excellence resort!
Had an amazing girls trip with my daughter. Amazing check-in team. Miguel Angel greeted us and got us to our check in quickly. The grounds very well maintained and the food was great. It was a bit disappointing that not all the restaurants were available but understandable when you come during the slower season. Beach was amazing. Very little seaweed and very clean. The beach concierge and staff took great care of us. I would like to call out Reison, and Alexander for being so great and helpful during our stay everyday we came to the beach. The staff at Excellence punta cana are so wonderful. The Leandro and Edzer at the sports bar also made our trip as we watched the World Series. Definitely planning a return visit.

Incredible service, ok food
Service was amazing, very friendly staff. The food was disappointing, but we heard it wouldn’t be the best. Not sure if that is a DR thing or specific to this resort. Only other thing we didn’t love was we sweat a LOT at night. The room didn’t seem to be hot, but I guess the humidity was bad. We requested a fan, which helped. Overall, we would definitely recommend.

Once in a lifetime trip!
Staff and service was exceptional food was phenomenal inside and outside facilities were clean and cleaned multiple times a day outside the Halloween party was an unbelievable visual masterpiece and the attention to detail and the props that were built especially the huge spiders were my personal favorite blade was my favorite from entertainment staff he gave 110% everyday no matter what and fun to be around, Domingo was a most gracious host from bellboy staff.

Good Resort
Entertainment at night needs a major redo! The same girl singing four nights in a row, presumably under different music genres, is not very impressive! Maria needs to improve on her interaction with the crowd, sitting down on the job was not good. Shaggy and Joy Boy were EXCELLENT!!!

Amazing experience!
Miguel was 10/10 and always so friendly to us everytime we passed and arrival/departure. All other staff were just as amazing!

- Service/General: We had great service (for example, at the beach, an employee helped us find a place to sit, laid out our towels, and someone came by to take our drink order), and the employees were very kind and friendly (special mention to Joel and Griselda). The hotel and the grounds were very clean. We could take as many towels as we wanted. One thing we found a little disappointing was that the ping-pong/ pool table/ basketball areas closed at 6pm, which we found a bit early. It rained a lot during our stay, but the resort handled it very well and we didn’t notice any flooding issues.
- Beach: The beach was super clean, with barely any seaweed (the best we’ve seen since before 2021). The ocean had almost no seaweed and was a good temperature. The waves were very strong (the flag was red about 1/4 of the time, so we could only go in up to our knees). There was always place at the beach, and the beds were super comfortable, with large palapas and sturdy tables. Our hotel is one of the last ones on the beach, so we rarely saw vendors (only a couple approached us over 7 days).
- Pool: There are 2 Club pools and 1 common pool. They were all very nice and clean. We mostly spent time in the common pool, which is very long and has a bar. The pools had a perfect depth, not too shallow and not too deep. We also always found chairs available by the pool.
- Restaurants/Buffet: The buffet was only open for breakfast and lunch, not for supper (we would have preferred if it was open for supper too, but it wasn’t a big issue). For supper, we had a choice between 10 restaurants (Mexican, International, Italian, Seafood, Grill, Asian, Hibachi, French, Dominican and a Sports bar). The restaurants were open on a rotating schedule (between 1-3-4-5-7 days per week), so we planned accordingly.
- Vegan: All the menus had a Plant-Based Menu, with mostly vegan dishes (the ones with milk ingredients were clearly identified). The Mexican and International restaurants had unique menus, while the Italian and Seafood restaurants had the same menu, and the Grill, Asian and French had the same menu. I included some pictures of the menus. The buffet for breakfast and lunch also had vegan options, though they were harder to identify as not all items were labeled.
- Room: The room was very clean, with great A/C, a good shower with strong water pressure and no issues with hot water. We also didn’t have a bracelet (like we usually do at all inclusives), which was nice - we only had a key card. However, it would be nice to have the key card on a bracelet so we wouldn’t have to worry about bringing the card everywhere.
Overall, we loved this hotel and would definitely recommend!

The food [The Kitchen], [Lobster House] was my favorite food places & staff was great service. You must visit Miile Spa for great different treatments. If you stay more than 3 nights free transportation from airport to resort round trip.

Best filling my soul vacation!!
Where do I begin?! I’ll start with the service. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and excellente. Shoutouts to Esperanza, Felix, Einstein, Fun Boy at the pool, and all the familia at The Excellence. I literally shed some tears leaving. The resort/location/rooms - impeccable. Now I was spoiled in the Imperial Suite. But seriously the resort is stunning and the rooms divine. Food…they have a wide selection, and it is soooo goood. The Dominican Republic celebration night, words don’t do it justice. We literally had THE BEST time. Cannot express enough gratitude to all at The Excellence. You took amazing care of us and we are forever grateful. Made some amazing memories, recharged, filled my soul, and can’t wait to be back!
