Get what you pay for
Value is good, room with swim up pool was great. Check in was a disaster, we did not get a our envelope or towel card. Very confusing. We had issues with dinner reservations almost every night and at times staff was not nice. Don't come to this resort and expect great food. 4 out of our group of 22 got sick. Beach was full of seagrass and water was dark brown. We had our favorite staff members and those were great. Massage on the beach was awesome. Resort was small enough that you won't get lost and it was well maintained. I felt safe here. This resort was the adult side and you are allowed to visit the family side. More to do on the family side. Resort was pretty and a nice atmosphere. You are about 15 minutes from the airport. Was not my favorite resort in all my previous destinations.

Don’t stay here
Received a room that was not booked. Offered a lesser room. Offered to pay for an upgrade but was dismissed with arrogance. Our experience at this hotel has been shocking. Ok if you speak Spanish as they jump in and don’t wait their turn. Never coming back here again and I would suggest any travelers go elsewhere. Love the Dominican hate the Catalonia!!!!

The dining experience there was far from relaxing. The atmosphere can only be described as a loud, chaotic school canteen – with children screaming and running around. It's overcrowded and often results in queuing for tables, as the space clearly cannot accommodate guests from both hotels comfortably.
Service was poor; we rarely received drinks with our meals without chasing staff, often waiting over 30 minutes just to be acknowledged. The food was repetitive, served cold, and lacked variety throughout our stay. Cleanliness was also an issue – the floor near the kitchen was visibly dirty, and tables were often left uncleaned between guests.
On a positive note, the gardens were immaculate. The gardening staff clearly take pride in their work, which was a refreshing contrast to the service standards elsewhere in the hotel. It might benefit the reception and restaurant staff to follow their example in terms of care and customer service.
One particularly unpleasant encounter was with a female receptionist who reprimanded me for bringing Dominican Pesos – the official currency of the country. I was told I should have brought US dollars instead, despite only asking to exchange large notes in order to tip staff. The attitude displayed was unnecessary and unprofessional.
The room was basic, but it was always cleaned well.
The infinite pool was nice and when the DJ was not on the beach shouting into his mictophone, it was peacefull. They could do with some more parasols as there were not enough for each sunbed and the sun gets very hot so you need shade.
Overall, this experience did not match expectations or the standards one would expect from an adults-only holiday. I would not return, nor recommend it to others expecting a peaceful, adult-oriented experience.

Accommodation: i booked a premium renovated room and i asked for a ground floor, when i get there the renovated rooms were only on first and second floors go figure that there was none on ground floors so first comment I, and this will be consistent throughout; what its advertise and what you get its not the same, so we definitely needed a ground floor due to injuries, first the person at from desk give us an upgrade but i shouldn’t be concerned as it would be at no cost to me, Ok so i got to the room and i could not believe it (for context i booked a room with a canopy king bed, a walk in bathtub in the room and the so called renovated that includes 2 vanities in the washroom, so this upgraded room had none of this and i don’t want to exaggerate but it was half of the size of the one i actually end-up with and that is a similar room as the one i booked but not renovated yet ... and it did show (broken bathtub, leaking ceiling just above your bowl, lots of moldy (at least dark grey) areas with noticeable humidity int ceilings
Food: do not have a complaint on the quality, quantity and variety my comment goes towards the protocol ie on vacation I’ll like not to have any “duties” and the only option is to book dinner otherwise you need to walk to the buffet on the other resort what i do have a problem is with the false advertising pure and simple on the website there is a buffet but the buffet is only for breakfast or when there’s a power failure (which did happen) then there’s is also the proud advertisement that they have the only vegetarian restaurant in punta cana, well they do, but it only operates on Thursday so if you are vegetarians (as we are) and this was a key point for booking then you need to be prepared for some fasting
Beach: again huge false advertisement they brag about the sargassum barrier well it doesn’t work i let the photo speak for itself
Overall comment this could have a been a nice stay in general the resort is fine, the food is good, the staff is friendly the problem with my stay was that they sold me something that i did not get and that is not acceptable ie if i had known that for instance there was no buffet i would be booking somewhere else or had been prepared to walk 10m to the next resort (that is part of same chain) but it is quite different to be told in situ that it is not a buffet it is a la carte, that the veg is only on Thursday, that you better book everything on day one or else...so i have this sensation that i bought something but got sometime else and i was expecting to relax a bit not get stressed out for no reason

Shocking cross contamination with food and cockroaches in toom
Hotel big and clean enough. Put my health at risk spoke with several managers, cross contamination. Would not recommend unfortunately. Staff very young, can’t speak English very well. I have had to seek medical care at home. Can’t cater for celiac tui not interested so contacted abta. Infinity pool can’t see the beach tiles dangerous

what ever you want
what a freindly place this is soon as we arrived we were greeted by ana, she was so helpfull a polite a credit too you she is, and it didn't stop there all the staff are so helpfull if they counldn't help they knew someone that could.room cleaned every day turn down service at night every thing was perfect for us, the only gripe we had was that the evening meal was alacarte every night but 2 when you have been in the pool all day and drinking all you need is a snack or pick at a buffet but all in all we managed .all the staff there are too many to mention but here are a few dario/ashley/carlos/elizabeth/pamela/aneury there are more but thank you all for making our stay so enjoyable.

Our recent stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and far below any acceptable standard of hospitality. Upon arrival, we were mistakenly checked into rooms that were not ours — one of which even contained a used swimming costume left behind by a previous guest. This was completely unacceptable from both a hygiene and service standpoint.
For three days, we endured accommodation with no functioning air conditioning, and despite repeated reports, management showed no concern or urgency to resolve the issue. The lack of customer care was alarming and demonstrated a complete disregard for guest comfort.
The restaurants were equally disappointing — poor food quality, unprofessional service, and staff were seen encouraging guests to scan QR codes to post misleading 5-star reviews for the resort rather than for the specific venue. This practice is dishonest and undermines the trust of future guests.
It is evident that the current senior management team is failing to uphold basic standards of hospitality, service, and accountability. I strongly recommend that ownership review and replace the senior management team immediately with professionals who understand and respect the fundamentals of guest care and hotel operations.
Overall, this experience was deeply frustrating and far below expectations. Unless significant changes are made, I would strongly advise others to avoid this hotel altogether.

I strongly recommend that ownership review and replace the senior management team immediately with professionals who understand and respect the fundamentals of guest care and hotel operations.
Overall, this experience was deeply frustrating and far below expectations. Unless significant changes are made, I would strongly advise others to avoid this hotel altogether.

We stayed for 2 weeks from 5th October and had the most wonderful time with no issues at all. If I was being particularly fussy I’m still not sure if I could find an issue.
The rooms are traditional and lovely, lots of space and extremely clean. The plug in our bath didn’t hold the water and we popped our head out the door and the room maid sorted it straight away for us. These things happen and it’s really not a drama.
I loved that it’s a quieter and more relaxed part of the resort as opposed to the family side.
There are 2 main pools, one very quiet and one that had a bit of music and has the option of getting involved in the pool workouts, bingo and such like. We spent most of our time by this pool but we did spend a couple of days at the quieter pool and it was equally nice.
We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful and they were good fun! We did tip regularly but not religiously and it didn’t alter the service we received. If you are friendly to the staff they will be equally friendly back.
We loved all of the restaurants on the adult side, the food was really good, the Asian restaurant was our favourite, that sushi was another level! They have buffet in one of the restaurants a couple of nights a week, we only went once as buffet isn’t something we are keen on and I can honestly say it was incredible! We used all of the restaurants on the family side as well, our favourite over there was the Italian but all were great!
There was still a seaweed issue when we arrived although it was getting better. The hotel were great at clearing the beach each morning though so it was still accessible (it’s worth noting by the end of the day it was building up again but you have to expect this, unfortunately it’s Mother Nature and not the fault of the hotel, there is only so much they can do, there are other parts of the island you can visit where the seaweed isn’t as much of a problem)
The evening entertainment was good fun, not crazy crazy but you can go to the family side if that’s your thing.
There were a British family that were incredibly obnoxious while we were there, very rude to staff and other customers, constantly moaning and going out of their way to be difficult, verbally abusing other holiday makers and more. I must say when we witnessed their behaviour on the first day we were dreading the rest of the holiday but honestly we didn’t need to worry, security were outstanding when it came to dealing with them and everyone we spoke to throughout our holiday who mentioned this family also commented on the fantastic work the security were doing which was so nice and reassuring. I’m sure they’ll get a bad review for it from the family but there will be many more grateful reviews from everyone else for this. We didn’t need to worry at all.
We would come back here in a heartbeat, it had been recommended to us by several people and we are so glad we chose here for our holiday.

Cleanliness is good, house keeping are on it & do a fab job.
The bottom pool by the beach is quieter but the one up by reception gets mental about 2 pm and the heavy drinking and screeching begins so be warned!!!! Its not relaxing.
Ironically the spa (which is amazing btw) is situated right nextdoor to this bar which is crazy as all you can hear throughout your 'relaxing treatment l' is shouting and screaming. Pretty ridiculous really. I felt sorry for the beautician actually.
Food.....
Hit & miss. Buffet is ok but v limited. However the individual restaurants are much better so get booked in those

We are currently staying at this hotel...3rd day in. First few days impression and honest review. We are staying in the privileged suite. First room smelled so damp & musty so we asked to move.
