Paradise, Unfortunately was a BAD experience. When they say "Welcome Home" they don't mean it.

I want to save some people some unnecessary frustration with this resort. I read the reviews, and I thought that the bad reviews would not happen or affect me. IT DID. ENERGY IS EVERYTHING!

The first two days were WONDERFUL! After that it went downhill. Too make a long story short. I communicated with my assist for room service on the What's App at 9:09 am that I was fasting and that I would like lunch in my room at 11 am. The kitchen opens at 11 am. At 11:48 am I am texting Ramona about the status of my lunch order. I did not receive my lunch until 1 pm. There is no communication or lack of which is a big problem at Zoetry. This incident happen on Saturday, July 12th.

There was a lot of back and forth with Ramona and no explanation why my lunch was late. When I asked what took so long? Short staff? Maybe I could have practiced more patience? She apologized. I accepted her apology. What if someone needs to take their medication with food? This was disappointing and extremely disturbing. When I asked to speak to the management twice, I was ignored. No follow up the next day which was Monday. I traveled back home Tuesday, and no one outreached me on the property. I am also, a member of UVC I submitted a complaint and spoke to Chris a representative on July 13th @ 2:01 pm while I was on the resort and no follow up from UVC or Hyatt.

Certain staff members seem to not want to be there and do their job. The energy is negative and toxic, and I did not pay a lot of money for an experience like this. I was frustrated, I felt unwelcome, and I was ignored. With all of this going on I felt unsafe. When I walked into the dining area, I received dirty looks from staff. (I thought it was me?) Dinner is served at 6:30 pm. At 6:45 pm it gets dark, and I want to see my food and what I am eating. With the negative energy from staff, I thought, “what are they doing with my food and drink?

I called my Jamaican colleague back in the states and asked them " What's going on why are people so negative and not helpful?" He stated, he never experienced that and he apology on behalf of his country. I spoke with some ex-colleagues, family and friends while I was at the resort about this experience. I was checking my energy and asked myself, is it me. Maybe it’s the culture? NO. I paid for a very expense vacation experience, and I expectations were not met. This was also my birthday trip and no piece of cake and no happy birthday, no complementary bag from UVC representative on this resort. Just unprofessionalism and being ignored. When I left the resort, I observed the UVC rep, she had on her air pods and looking down at her cell phone.

If this ever happens to you. (You should always learn something when you travel)
* Document, document, document.
* Protect your energy. No need to go back and forth with unprofessionalism and negative staff. (Their actions show that they do not care).
* Pray. Calm down. Stay away from negative staff.
* If you can afford it, go home. It's not a nice feeling when you are ignored and do not feel welcome.

Pros: The resort is beautiful and quiet. This is considered a boutique hotel with only 50 rooms. I picked this resort because I wanted to relax and mediate which is what they advertise on their website. I had a great room with a fantastic view. My air conditioner worked, and I slept like a baby. Please be careful of the humidity in the rooms. You could slip and fall.

Many Blessings to Shereese at the front desk. Servers in the dining room David D and Stacy. Mr. Mike D at the Spa. Head assistant (I do not like the word butler) Mr. Jason Richards who is an example of exceptional professionalism and class. (Protect this young man at ALL COST). This staff I mentioned above is probably working so hard and saving those who do not want to work and protecting customer service negatively. This is NOT fair on the one who are doing their job and the right thing. Outside the resort I had a blast and first class treatment. Amstar was GREAT! I spoiled myself with a private tour and private drivers and they delivered excellent customer service.

The bad reviews go back to two years and nothing has changed. Many friends stated when you go to Jamaica the best way to stay is at an Air BNB. Good to know!

Now I have to detox from this extremely bad vacation from Zoetry Resort in Jamaica.

Incredible service. Special attention. Kind staff. Warm hospitality. Improved menu and taste of food. Beach was kept pristine and plenty of chairs to lounge. Jerky Joe’s lunch was finger licking Property was impeccable. Room was clean and cool. Plenty of towels and turn down service

Great time, wonderful people, zen vibe

The room was comfortable! Most of the staff were exceptional. We had a great time and would definitely go back. It’s a little too slow paced and relaxed for me but it’s perfect for others like my daughter who I went with.
If you’re looking for fine cuisine this isn’t the place but overall the experience was nice

Meh - not worth the price

Considering the price point, we had an okay stay at Zoetry from July 20-24th. Zoetry is tagged as a luxury resort – but we do not think that is an accurate representation of this resort.
Food – the food was delicious, but it took FOREVER. Every meal is a sit down, menu meal. After ordering, most meals took a minimum of 30 minutes to arrive, sometimes well over an hour until we received our food. It felt like a huge waste of time to sit and wait for food three times a day. The juice was from a jug which is disappointing when visiting a tropical country.
Beach – The beach sand is lovely, but the water was not great. The ground was covered in seaweed.
Staff – Most of the staff was lovely, always willing the help. We were assigned a butler, who was honestly annoying. I don’t really know what his purpose was.
Room – Our room was spacious and clean. It was lacking basic towels (hand & face) and bathrobes.
Fitness/Gym – The equipment is old, and very difficult to function. The treadmills were constantly showing an error code.
Entertainment – There was a daily schedule of events and activities. These events rarely took place. There was no basking weaving, wood carving or leather activity as indicated on the schedule. Daily “fresh juice” was just a jug of juice poured into a dispenser.
Overall, for the price we paid, expecting luxury, we would not return to this resort.

Don't go!

The worst vacation resort/all inclusive experience every had. Only saving grace - short 4 night stay, ocean view, some very kind and helpful staff. Resort and rooms poorly equipped for "all inclusive" accommodations. The good; pool & beach chairs/umbrellas were relatively new and in good condition. The bad; all inclusive room only included 1 pint of rum with the standard coffee, water, beer and soda. The Ugly; the stationary multi-person beach float was filthy dirty, sandbag trash left in water at shoreline and ignored by staff. Only 1 restaurant was open at any given time of the day except for the Jerk Shack (with very limited menu). The limited daily menu selection in the 2 main restaurants was of the lowest quality. Menu items appeared to be pre-cooked and were served cold. Declining facility presented safety hazards. No one authorized to address deficiencies.

Amazing Beac View and Beach Access

The location and access to the beach/pool was amazing. There were max 12 couples at the place that we saw at one time. We never had to wait for a chair/cabana at the pool or even the loungers on the beach. It's very chill vibes so having patience was expected and necessary but it was what we were looking for.

Rather disappointing and not meeting expectations for a 5 star resort

We chose this resort based on a very positive experience at Zoetry Punta Cana, expecting the same level of quality across the brand. Unfortunately, that was not nearly the case.

The overall facility appears outdated and does not meet five-star expectations. The rooms are relatively small but generally clean; however, the pillows were noticeably poor in quality. The pool is rather small and shallow, which might be typical for a smaller resort. The entertainment is limited.

The hotel is situated on a shallow lagoon rather than direct access to the open sea. On the plus side, the water is very warm and calm, with no waves. On the downside, it’s not ideal for swimming, as the water is less clean than the open sea and there is a significant amount of seaweed in the shallow areas.

Included activities are limited to a single sailing boat, kayaking, and snorkeling excursions offered three times a week. The snorkeling spot at the nearby reef is disappointing, with 99.9% dead coral and sparse marine life—though we did spot two skates. Overall, this resort seems best suited for guests who prefer relaxing by the pool with drinks.

Service was inconsistent. We repeatedly had to ask for towels and bath mats—staff removed the used items but often did not replace them. While some waitstaff were attentive, many were slow and unresponsive during dinner. One night, a guest received a napkin with brown stains. On another occasion, the pool ran out of clean towels and the staff appeared unconcerned. Senior staff seemed competent, but junior staff lacked attentiveness and skills.

The food was mediocre with limited variety; despite already having few options, some items were unavailable from the menu. Unfortunately, one of our group experienced food poisoning.

An adult only experience that was worth every penny!!!!

Zoetry Montego Bay

We selected Zoetry due to its reviews. We wanted a resort to spend my husbands birthday weekend in a quiet yet fun setting with great authentic food.

First let me tell you, I wanted him to have a great view for breakfast from the balcony every morning so I called ahead of time to ensure I knew the type of room we had and the important features that he likes. Not only did Sherese take care of me but she spoke to me on the phone like I was a familiar guest, she took care of every need pre-arrival. Even gave me Junior’s number to get the transportation squared away to/from airport and Junior was great.

Once we arrived we were greeted with fresh green juice upon walking in and cool towels for our necks by Ricardo before we even sat down to check in. Our flight arrived early so they had accommodations for our bags and to use the entire facilities while we waited for our room to be ready.

We checked in with Sherese and she was even more accommodating in person as she was over the phone. She assigned us our butler and we were off to the poolside restaurant. Everyone was so accommodating. There we had cod fish cakes, one of my favorites from childhood as I grew up in Panama. Everything we tried on the menu was great.

The highlight of our trip was when we met our butler David. He was not only attentive, he was patient and kind and extremely hospitable. But the most amazing thing about David was he was always one step ahead of us. He knew what we needed to do each day. He learned our cocktails and times and had them ready when we were done.

When I needed a birthday cake for my husband he found the cake, got it set up and navigated the surprise with the rest of the team.

He helped us navigate our spa treatments with Sharon, who was absolutely amazing with the seaweed wrap and body buff. My husband had a total body deep tissue massage that was wonderful.

The jerk chicken hut that’s open for lunch everyday is authentic and amazing. Youllan with the activities was perfect and engaging. As a young person, she engaged us in a mindfulness activity where we wrote our answers down and burned it in the ashes.. totally an impactful experience. There were so many great people from the cocktail bar inside, the coffee shop with custom coffees of Jamaica, the fresh made afternoon juices, to the wonderful themed evening dinners. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

Frankly, the entire resort was wonderful, from the moment we walked in to the grounds people, who took great care of cleaning the property daily, to include all the pools and the hot tubs, that were available 24/7. The pier was also a scenic part of our trip and the morning yoga on the pier was nice.

Overall, we know Zoetry will be a mainstay and we hope that the others we visit will not disappoint.

No Frills/No Flavor just no

The reviews didn’t lie!
This place has so much potential but fall short on so many levels.
The staff is great. Great at their jobs and it comes across as just that their job, no more no less.
If you’re looking for chill/quiet this is the place for you. R&R only.
But bring your own food and drinks. The food is awful, just a waste of ingredients. They need new cook/cooks pronto! The menu is basic and breakfast menu the same everyday. Dinner menu no flair. We came to Jamaica for flavorful dishes not Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. All of it was horrible. I ordered a hamburger thinking how hard could that be, it was bloody red. I didn’t want anything in place of it. The bartender re-ordered anyway. It was offensive how burnt the second one was. It was unrecognizable that it was food. It looked like it had been cooked over a volcano. I ate bbq wings and a quesadilla the rest of our stay. The drinks are a joke! I’m a lightweight (2 drinks max) I would have 6-7 drinks daily and never got a buzz. The joke from the bartender was “ see you in five minutes “ knowing damn well you weren’t going to get tipsy from none of that crap! The second night we didn’t have phone/tv service in our room. Stocked frig in room had a bottle of rum( you will need to add it to your drinks from the bar) beer/soda/water and champagne. Snacks -granola bar/ banana chips STALE!
Rooms are furnished nice & clean.

Best girls trip ever at Zoetry MoBay

We loved Zoetry MoBay. David, our butler was amazing. It was a girls getaway and was perfect. Met the most wonderful people. If you are looking for a place to stay, don’t overlook this quaint resort.

Not impressed

The whole experience. When we first arrived check in was smooth the buttler was polite & helpful & we offered a non alcoholic drink which was amazing. We went to our room & the room wasnt what we purchased. When we came back down to address the issue, the manager (a woman) lied and told us the room booked we asked for a “private pool” & “pool” in jamaica means tub. I said so if i didnt pay for a private “tub” people would watch me in the tub? She said no. My gf requested to upgrade the room to a “swim out room” she said all 46 or 49 rooms were booked & she couldnt accomodate us. We were right over the swim out room the whole trip & no one was in none of the swim out rooms underneath us. The manager lied. The bar doesnt open until 10am which doesnt make sense for a vacation. Room service for lunch or dinner takes 2hrs. The bartending staff (Ms. barbara) & the lady who cooked at “jerky joes” was amazing. The management staff was HORRIBLE & do to this experience i will not be returning to this hotel, and i will also put the same review on google so everyone will know as well. The food was amazing! Was beautiful. But management is a mess & i cant spend my money at an establishment like this. Tv wasnt working & had to keep requesting assistance. The housekeeping staff was amazing bartender ms barbara amazing! Jerky joes! Amazing!
See below the empty swim out room we requested to upgrade to & the management team said it was booked.

Beautiful resort, poor customer service.

Beautiful, quiet resort but staff acts like they are inconvenienced by you at every turn. Extremely slow service, nothing and no one is on time, and there are people who are trying to sell you their goods and bother you very persistently every time you walk by.

Wonderful experience and great service.

Had a great experience at the Zoetry Mongego Bay. Ignore some of the negative comments on here. Their is nothing the hotel can do about it being too windy (it wasn't on our trip) or blaming them for booking the wrong room! It has always been my practice to deal with any issues personally at the time rather than complain online afterwards, when nothing can be done. We had excellent service during our stay with the best hotel experience you could imagine. Nothing was too small or difficult for the staff. The beach resort is wonderful. Very peaceful. I would certainly recommend staying here and would not hesitate on a return visit myself.

Staff and Atmosphere amazing. Food/beverage programming need complete overhaul

Staff
Truly phenomenal. Every team member we encountered was kind, eager, and supportive. Their professionalism and warmth absolutely made this trip worthwhile.

Atmosphere
The grounds and setting were stunning and peaceful — while needed minor updates, it was exactly what we had hoped for.

Bar & Beverages
While the bar staff were wonderful, the beverage program was disappointing. Nearly all drinks were made with basic overly sweet juices. At a wellness-focused resort in the Caribbean, we expected fresh fruit and fresh juice-based cocktails to be available. Even in the evenings, options were so limited that we often defaulted to straight spirits. The liquor selection itself was also very restricted. Additionally, the only drink menu was hidden within the app, which staff were generally unaware of. Expanding the beverage program to feature fresh, local ingredients would be a huge improvement.

Food
Jerky Joe’s: Excellent — fresh, delicious, and consistently enjoyable.

Breakfast: Generally good, though several items were often unavailable or served differently than described.

Lunch: Some meals were flavorful, others quite bland.

Dinner: The rotating themed menus were nice to see, and many dishes were really nice; wihile others quite lacking. Dinner was also the only time we could get a dessert like treat. however, was very limited.

Room Service: Inconsistent. Items arrived differently than described (e.g., a salad came with completely different ingredients than listed). The app listed 24-hour room service, but when we called at 6 a.m. we were told it was closed.

Polo Bar/Restaurant: Rarely open. When it was, access was limited (e.g., reserved for filming), or the space appeared unstaffed and unstocked — almost used as storage.

Coco Café: Coffee was very good, but baked goods were minimal, often stale, and most days the display was empty.

Overall, while staff were consistently excellent, the food and beverage program needs a complete rework. More fresh, varied, and reliable options would transform the experience. The staff clearly have the capability — they just need the resources and support to deliver on the resort’s full potential.

Other Observations
Our package included a beach bag which wee did not get. Also daily sparkling wine/ fresh fruit were included but We only received these on arrival, with no refresh afterward.

The lobby is a beautiful, underutilized space. Occasional programming, such as live piano or small events, could bring it to life. Especially considering there is nowhere to go, following dinner.

Staff Highlights
Several individuals truly stood out:
Shadrick — Pleasant, professional, and genuine.
Barbara — Warm, calming, and kind.
Benson — Approachable and full of knowledge, like reconnecting with a longtime friend.
Youlan (spelling may be off) — Respectful, engaging, and approachable.
Ramona — Our butler, who was informative and helpful during her hours.
