Great Resort!!

The experience at this resort was absolutely breathtaking, I loved the service from the moment I stepped onto the resort. My butler Ana was such a delight with her attentiveness and attention to detail, we loved her! Our welcome concierge in the welcome lobby for the preferred members did an extremely great job as well! From the room service to the pool service to the positive atmosphere and welcoming greetings, I would 10/10 recommend this resort and will most definitely be coming back! Beautiful Resort and Great Service

My husband and I spent 6 nights at Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres. The property is beautifully designed and maintained and the best all inclusive resort to date. We did the Preferred Club and enjoyed the perks with that. We had a wonderful butler, Ana, for our room. She took care of all our needs daily. She was able to get us in for the Tappantaki meal at the Japanese restaurant which was our favorite experience. The Preferred Club pool was beautiful and our pool butlers Josue and Elias took care of us while at the pool. There are many restaurants and all were excellent. Our favs were Portofino (Jesus was a great waiter) and Miguel at Himitsu made our dining delicious and memorable. I highly recommend this resort and would definitely would return. Five star experience for sure!

Incredible resort!

We have traveled to many Secrets over the years and this one was by far one of our favorites! From the customer service to the food, it was all top notch. Our butler, Ana, was amazing! Anything we needed she had it taken care of, just an amazing experience! The resort is very clean and beautifully landscaped. It truly is a gem! We will be back!

Nice resort but not our favorite! Rooms are very nicely designed. The multiple pools give everyone plenty space.

Check in:
They were ready for our arrival. Took less than 15 mins to get our room keys. The bags took too much time getting to our room (about an hour), and I had to call to get them delivered. If you want to get right into vacation mode ASAP then I suggest grabbing your bags yourself.

Room:
The room is nicely designed and appointed. Very much to the level of what would be expected for a 5 star resort. Takes a while to get hot water, but be patient and it will come (sometimes 5 min). We struggled to get the temperature in the room below 71 F. So the AC may be a little underpowered for the space.

Swim up pool - Didn’t see more than 6 people using their swim up rooms all week. I think this is because the swim up pools don’t connect to the main pools. I would say don’t spend the extra money for these rooms unless you like privacy / isolation when in the pool.

Food:
All of the restaurants are beautifully decorated / designed. Overall the food was less than expected. Some good, but a lot was pretty basic. I will rank the restaurants in order from best to worst:
1) The Teppanyaki at Himitsu (reservation needed)
2) Seaside Grill
3) Himitsu
4) Portofino
5) Bordeaux
6) Oceana
7) El Patio
8) Market Grill

Nightlife:
There really is only one option and it is pretty decent. Desires Lounge. Depending on the night it can be pretty fun. There is a pool table and plenty of TV’s if you are looking to watch a game. A DJ is there most nights.

Preferred Upgrade:
Overall it didn’t seem to be worth the price. The preferred bar / lounge was a decent meeting place before dinner. The appetizers they served were generally not very tasty. The self serve coffee was good. This is another comfortable place a group could go to watch a game. There are two huge TV’s in the lounge area. The butler’s were helpful at times, but half of my requests went unresponded to. I will say that preferred guests get access to the Seaside restaurant for breakfast and that was the best breakfast option by far. Overall I don’t think that the value is there to justify the cost of the upgrade.

Pools:
The pools are pretty relaxed. The preferred pool we spent no time at. It’s very quiet / boring, but would be a great place to read a book. The activity pool is much more active / fun. Good music all day. Always something going on, but it is pretty much the same activities every day. Could use some variety. The infinity pool is huge and has a nice swim up bar. With that said, there really is no music being played, except if you are sitting at the swim up bar. We used our small Bluetooth speaker around this pool and no one seemed to mind at all.

Gym:
I am a gym rat, so the gym facility is important to me. The gym here is very nice and has everything you need to stay on your workout regimen.

Overall - This is a nice property. From our perspective, we have been to other resorts that meet our vacation needs better, but if you are looking for a very chill / low key vibe then this would be a great option for you.

Secrets Playa Blanca=excellence!

This place is just the best all inclusive we have visited. The rooms, the staff and the food/entertainment are top notch! Special shout out to our butlers, Eddy and Rafael. They were at our service each day and always eager to help. Also the preferred pool concierge, Elias was very helpful each day as well as Freddy at the preferred beach. Service at the bars and restaurants was excellent each time we enjoyed a cocktail or a meal. Food was five star! We will return soon.

A Perfect Balance!

A perfect balance

Our first stay at Secrets Playa Blanca, and defiantly will not be our last! We are UVC members and have been to over 15 resorts across the brand! First, we want to acknowledge how functional and efficient this resort operates, it is shocking that it is only two years old! We attribute this to exceptional frontline staff! For example, 1). Check in was flawless; we worked with Angel and upgraded to an Ocean front swim out for a cost. 2). Our butlers Duran and Gustavo met all of our requests from daily coffee in the room to booking a spa treatment and verifying that the air conditioning was indeed working! We hope to see you two again very soon! 3). The pool and beach staff made our stay and we are still talking about them a week later. We were lucky enough to meet Eduardo and Jorge on the beach on our first full day. They are personable and attentive to what your preferences are for drinks and relaxation. Eduardo quickly recognized that we preferred “low sugary” drinks and made great suggestions to skinny Singapore slings and skinny frozen lemonade and vodkas. Jorge made us so happy with his daily morning “hello greeting” and smile. He has such a genuine personality. PS. He also cleaned our sunglasses several times and made our beach chairs super comfy which we were so grateful for!

Our favorite dinner was at Portofino and really enjoyed getting to know Jesus. My wife and I both had the Caprese salad, bruschetta, minestrone soup and the chicken parmesan. The presentation of the food was well thought out and it was delicious! We also want to acknowledge Market Cafe, which oftentimes gets overlooked in a review. We looked forward to going to breakfast everyday and having a made to order quesadilla or omelet. Christian greeted us every morning with a warm smile, we miss these mornings already!

We utilize the spa services at every Secrets resort we vacation at. My favorite so far is Secrets Bahia Mita followed by Dreams Natura. I’ll start with my negative critique first, the hydrotherapy here is just ok. We felt rushed and it didn’t feel relaxing. Also going in October and having water and lush gardens attracted a ton of mosquitoes. However, the massage therapists made up for this! We received a relaxing 80 minute couples massage and added the facial and warm wax option. It was heavenly! When we return to this resort, we will specifically request them!

We went to the gym one morning around 7 AM and would have liked to go more during our vacation but It was busy and there is not a ton of free weights which is what we prefer to do! I would advise that if the gym is part of your routine, go early!

Because we had a swim out, we spent only two days at the preferred pool. The vibe at this pool is a mix between relaxing and social. We appreciated meeting some other couples and our server Henry was outstanding! If you are lucky enough to sit in his section—you will be taken care of!

My last comment is about UVC. I see so many people saying avoid the “time share meeting”. My suggestion is to make your own decision on this and not base it off of reviews. We are very happy members and honest people. If you truly are interested in joining the vacation club—go to a meeting. It’s super informative!! Know that the membership is like purchasing a car. It’s not going to take an hour—it’s going to take 3 or more hours to be well informed. Don’t sign the contact unless you are 100% aware of the terms in the contract. Edgar is a good one at Secrets Playa Blanca—request him if you are interesting in learning more about UVC.

Bribes Before Bookings: Inside Secrets Resort’s Shady Reservation Game.

At Secrets Resort by Hyatt, restaurant reservations technically open at midnight — but don’t expect a fair shot. I logged in right at 12:00 a.m. and found that the teppanyaki restaurant already showed only a 9:45 p.m. slot left. Later, several guests told me the real way to get an early reservation is by tipping the concierge or a restaurant server. The same goes for finding a poolside chair — it seems “reserved” long before sunrise. Save yourself the frustration; the app won’t help much when access depends on informal payments and personal connections.

The Best Resort!!!

Just got back from 5 days at Secrets Playa Blanca and I’m seriously obsessed. This was my 3rd Secrets property and easily my favorite. We stayed in preferred, and it was AMAZING. totally worth it.

The resort is beautiful — brand new, clean, and modern — but the people made it unforgettable.

Ernesto at Seaside Grill was the sweetest and so attentive, Victor at Portofino made dinner feel like an experience, and Cesar at Coco Café had the BEST energy and somehow remembered our coffee orders every day. Israel at Himitsu was awesome — so friendly and funny — ended up going back here for a second night (forgot the servers name) but he was also incredible. Gloria and Martin, our butlers, went above and beyond to make our anniversary special, and always checked in on us. Antonio at Oceana, Raphael by the social pool, and Miguel and Auri in the Preferred Lounge were all incredible and so friendly.

Everyone we met was so kind, genuine, and hardworking. I’d come back in a heartbeat — make sure to tip these workers, they truly deserve it.

Romantic stunning and elegant hotel

Had the most amazing 10 nights staying at secrets from the meet and greet to the checking out everything was spectacular! The hotel is stunning so very clean and tidy, the staff are amazing very accommodating and friendly you never need for anything and always on hand to help ! Victor is brilliant at the pool side he actually make the day enjoyable ! The rooms are spotless and maids do an excellent job to a very high standard ! Food and dining was amazing you had the choice of some many restaurant every night was just another amazing night in a different atmosphere with amazing food and staff it was lovely trying somewhere different every night of our stay ! The coffee shop is amazing grab a hot or cold coffee when you need it and the shop was so pretty with beautiful pasties on display to choose from ! The beach second away from the pools again clean and tidy with beautiful views, the night entertainment is lovely after a day on trips or just sitting in the sun was lovely to watch the shoes then retire to your room
I would Definitely recommend this hotel it’s finished to high standards excellent food and service and the staff are trained to be a very high standard nothing is too much trouble for them ! I’m planning on go back next year for my 50th just loved it’s here !

Secrets Playa Blanca - a piece of heaven

Secrets Playa Blanca was nothing short of amazing. The staff go out of their way to make your experience special. Our Butlers Manuel and Eduardo pampered us, leaving nothing desired. The Pool concierge Victor is like the energizer bunny be-bopping around the pools attending to everyone's needs. Daniel our pool waiter was attentive to our needs. We met Daniel the manager of Portofino at Secrets Maroma a few years ago. It was like seeing an old friend and just nothing short of amazing at what he does. Emma is the hostess at the buffet for breakfast and Oceana for lunch. She is a gem, she remembers you and goes the extra mile to make your experience the best. Each made our experience memorable and long to go back to this paradise.

Gorgeous Resort; can't wait to return

We have been to multiple Secrets resorts and they have all been great but this one especially stood out. We absolutely loved the design of the resort; the bar, cafe, and lounge seating was so well designed and there were so many places around the resort to relax. The restaurants were all great, we loved El Patio (as we always do) and had great service from all the servers. Ezekial at Bordeaux made my birthday dinner really great. Luis, our Building 5 concierge, was really fantastic - he helped make sure our mini fridge was stocked appropriately, kept us informed about resort activities, helped us book a bali bed at the jungle pool, and was incredibly friendly and nice every time we saw him. Another special shout out to Freddy at the infinity pool- absolutely great service from him too.

Pretty hotel good rooms bad food cheap drinks, totally overpriced.

AMazing design and nice rooms , cheap drinks and poor quality food. Unless you want to eat pork all day the rest of the food is low quality most of the stuff is deep fried i dont know why.. i will never go back . The 200 usd Coupon is a ripoff. IT IS USELESS: IT ISA NOT A RESORT CREDIT: you get 10USD discount from the overpriced vine, and so . . .
