Not what is was, lost is spark. Choose elsewhere.

I have stayed at this resort over 15 times in the past. Have not been back for the past 11 years due to personal reasons. Since my last trip this resort though with newer rooms has gone downhill. The GM seems to be more interested being out of sight to the guests. Even at the returning guest dinner she hangs with her staff and not the guests. Food quality is not what it was before. Thai food sauces are ketchup based and not real Thai food taste. French food chateaubriand is two pieces of steak that are dried out for medium rare cooking. And taste is of cheap beef. At the pub the fish and chips is a greasy mess. Breakfast is good and Garfield with his laugh is not to be missed. At the island cabana Marlon is a great butler to take care of you. Overall, it's not the resort I remember, and prior GM's took better care of customers than the current one. Future returns will not happen only for the loss of the high quality of what this resort was but also due to us willing to check out places outside of the Carribean which are far better places than this specific resort.

Best Anniversary ever

My husband and I have waited 20 years for a trip. We went for our 20th wedding anniversary and it was over the top great. We had Roland and Sherry -Ann as our butler’s (only way to go.) They went above and beyond making it so special for the two of us. Being gluten free was no problem here at all. They had many options and I always had a special dessert in room waiting for me every night. The people are the sweetest and really care about you. Thank you Sandals Royal Caribbean and we will see you in 2026.

Choose Elsewhere-Sadly Disappointed

We were so excited to spend our anniversary at the Royal Caribbean...until we weren't. How do you mistake an anniversary for a birthday and still be two days late? We have been treated like royalty at other (not Sandals) resorts for our celebration. Most of the employees were miserable and it showed in their service. There was definite favoritism if you had a butler or paid extra for something. Entertainment was sub par as was the food. Room service was always cold. Pools were nice but we just expected so much more under the Sandals name and price. We will not be returning and we will tell others not to waste their time or money.

Amazing vacation from start to finish!!!!!

Smaller all inclusive that lives up to the newer and bigger Sandals propertys!!!!!!!! Amazing staff,pool, food and Butler's. Chad and Kevoy were out butler's and did an amazing job at keeping us informed and always being able to get things that we requested. Anyone going to this resort should request Chad and Kevoy!!!!!

Another Great Visit

We stayed at this property this past June after staying at this resort years ago ( It was our 3rd Sandals visit Club Level in 2013 ) After returning in June, we fell in love with the resort mostly due to the butler service. We had a new butler ( Chad ) this trip who was outstanding. I know a superstar when I see one. Chad went above and beyond to cater to us. He was very professional but we enjoyed him as a person & his sense of humor. Due to the beautiful spacious rooms & excellent service, we are booked for the next 3 years to come back. The food was also very good as it's been for years. The water was PERFECT. Flat like a pool & get right in temp. Another perk is the offshore island. Cute bar & pool ( newly remodeled ) Jerk Shack & massage huts. We had a cabana for the day with Antonio as our attendant who was a lot of fun. Other superstars we encountered Mark the manager at Bombay ( Super friendly cute guy )who served us a pain killer at the Mariner beach restaurant then 2 days later we walk into Bombay for dinner & he shows up at the table with 2 Painkillers! Jodianne our lunch server at Mariners. The bartenders at Mariners. Vanessa at LeJardiner, Amanda in security ( really enjoyed chatting with her one evening at piano bar ) Donald at the piano bar also a stand out. Also not our butler but we will request her in the future to partner with Chad ( Karmeilla ) always friendly to us & we watched her in action all day catering to her guests. Another stand out butler we met was Ellis. In management Kadeen ( Kay Black ) the guest relations manager, Kadeen Loyalty & Travel Mgr, Summer in loyalty & travel ( thanks for coming to our room to book us ) Davia Butler Supervisor ( You are always great at the fun butler parties ) We met the hotel Mgr Peron for the first time who took the time to stop & chat. We didn't see her this trip but Dawn Smith the GM on my superstar list. We thank all of you for your hospitality & look forward to seeing every one again in Sept 2026 Charlotte & Eric Owen

Sandals RC Trip 15/09 - 25/09/2025

We had a really good holiday at Sandals Royal Caribbean. It’s a very friendly resort with a good choice of restaurants on site, plus at the nearby Sandals Montego Bay. Lots of positives & a big shout out to Sabrina in La Tavola & Robert in Spices/Le Jardiniére. They are exceptional & work so hard. Lots of positives regarding this resort such as:

Staff friendliness & integration;
Helpful reception & Club Lounge;
Well maintained external areas;
Good restaurants with lots of choice.

The only negatives we would record are:
Slightly disappointing housekeeping. The room was cleaned (or offered to be cleaned) every day, however not to a high standard. The floor should maybe be mopped at least once a week as it was dirty;
Payment issue regarding late room check out. $100 taken from my Wife’s bank account twice. Took a long time to sort out. A week since returning home, the second payment is still showing as pending in the account, however we think it’s all sorted now.

Overall, very good holiday with just a few minor points recorded.

Nice place close to airport

Excellent service and scenery with plenty of bars and great restaurants and food. No problem finding chairs at the pool or beach. Nice private island with pool and clothing optional area and a bar with a Jerk Shack

Absolute paradise!

Our stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean was heaven!!! The staff was amazing and the food was first class. We had the time of our lives and have already booked a return trip for next year. I was celebrating my birthday and was treated to a bubble bath with rose petals in our private soaking tub on our private porch. Airport transfers were seamless. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff who made this such an amazing trip. Highly, highly recommend!!!! 10/10

Home away from home

We’ve been going to Sandals Royal Caribbean for years. Ellis and Dwight are our butlers and they are the best!!! Always make us feel special. Shawane and Christopher will take care of you at the bar. Kim will book your next trip with a smile. Thanks for always a great vacation.

Last Minute travel to Royal Caribbean

My wife and I arranged a 4 night trip to Royal Caribbean via the last minute travel deal option from the Sandals website and were fortunate to further reduce the cost of the reservation with a 777 sale. Combined with the close proximity to Sangster Airport that resulted in a noon arrival to the resort (thanks Shernod), and low season occupancy, it was excellent value. The staff were fabulous hosts from Day 1 thru Day 5. Dinner reservations were easy to make with Concierge and Island Routes desks despite not having butler service, and the meals at the Thai, Tavola, Spices (Janice) and Bombay restaurants were delicious. We also shuttled to Montego Bay resort for an afternoon at the beach, and a fabulous evening at Butch's (Renaldo). Our room in the newer Highgrove Building was huge, clean and quiet. The pools were warm and clean, bartenders (Andre, Stacy Ann, Austin) happy to concoct our drinks, and the island a fun place to spend an afternoon. Great to have met friendly guests from USA, Canada, and the UK, while reuniting with Sandals friends from PEI (M&M). Hats off to GM D. Smith, her management team (Kaye, Kadeen, Shana) and support staff (Oshin, Kimone, Omar), and not to forget Anastasia at the Sandals Lounge upon arrival, for making our short visit a memorable one and definitely worth repeating in the near future. Tip to others travelling thru Sangster Airport - opt for MoBay Lounge prior to departure.

Butler shout out!

We have been to this property 3 times and booked return again! Shout out to our butlers Sherry-Ann & Roland! They took the best care of us from bringing us snacks, to handling our dining reservations, & even decorating our room for a romantic occasion! Highly recommend this them & this property!

Don’t Miss Out On A Butler Room

Chad and Kevoy were absolutely phenomenal! From the moment we arrived, they made sure every detail of our stay was seamless and stress-free. From reserving the best spots by the beach to surprising us with personalized touches in our room, they went above and beyond every single day. Exceptional butlers and wedding team

Sandals Royal Carribean did not disappoint. Shadeen (wedding planning office) went above and beyond. To add some further detail, my wife and I had been planning our vowel renewal in Jamaica through Sandals and it was poor. HOWEVER, as soon as we get to the resort Shadeen makes it look effortless and there is no stress. Her attention to detail and “customer first” approach is great. She made our vowels renewal exactly what we wanted, thank you Shadeen you were amazing! Our butlers Ian and Nicole were exceptional and in all honesty they made our stay. Both made our individual birthdays special and made us feel special on each. To be honest, I think if we didn’t have Ian and Nicole I don’t think our stay would of been what it was, they were amazing, friendly, professional and easy going, thank you both.

The maintenance team on the beach were also great and keep the beach in pristine condition whilst also being pleasant and professional.

Few comments for improvement.
My wife and I went to the sushi restaurant in Montego Bay and was met with abit of hostility when asking for Perrier water that we had thought our butler had arranged, it was as if the server was looking down on us, however she did warm up to wards the end.

I would also ask that water bowls be fitted around the resort. There are many cats and kittens and I am sure they are fed and watered but would be good for bowls to placed around

Oct 5th Birthday Vacation

So just a quick synopsis. This was a last minute booking by my lovely wife for my Birthday Oct 5th. We arrived on Sunday Oct 5th my Birthday. To say the least it was not perfect but Sandals took care of the issue. It was a dinner reservation for an offsite dinner at Butches at the Montego Bay location. After that issue everything was awesome! We dove with the most amazing Dive Shop crew! Mon, Tues, Wed 2 dives each day. Relaxing, Quiet, Slow 40+ minute dives each day. Wednesday the Dive Shop threw me a Birthday Party on board after our last dive. This was our 3rd time to this location and can't really say enough about all the staff. We have 2 booked vacations for 2026 to Turks and Caicos In Oct which we booked while at Curacao in June 2025 and a return to Curacao for June which we booked while at Sandals Royal Caribbean. We will be getting a free Vacation once we take one of these. 7 days away from our next FREE VA CA. As Divers we cant say how much we Love Diving included. FYI the only 2 resorts we have not been to are Sandals Royal Bahamian and Sandals St. Vincent. We might switch up at Curacao booking to one of those. I love Sharks and the Bahamian has Sharks. My Wife was not a Diver when we last visited St. Lucia so I want her to experience the diving there. I think we would go to the Grande.

A Great and Awesome Vacation at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica

We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The weather was great and the staff very attentive.

Our Butler, Andre "Bossi" was the absolute best. He was always around and very attentive to our needs. He made sure that our experience was top notch!

We loved the food and our server, Princess, at the Bombay Indian restaurant was great.... we liked her and the service she provided so much we went back to the restaurant a few times. She greeted us with a smile and engaged with us even when she saw us around the resort.

The resort was on the small side, but the entertainment was fabulous. The singing, dancing, drumming, violin and chelo playing were excellent. The entertainment crew did and excellent job and we thoroughly enjoyed the nightly shows.

This was my 2nd Sandals stay and I'm looking forward to the next trip.... I highly recommend Sandals as a great all-inclusive vacation.

Disappointed Honeymoon Experience @ Sandals Royal Caribbean-Unequal Treatment & Room Issues

My husband and I recently stayed at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay for our honeymoon, and unfortunately, it was far from the luxury experience we expected or that so many others had described.

One of the most disheartening parts of our stay was the difference in how guests were treated. At the Thai restaurant, we noticed a clear pattern where Caucasian couples were warmly greeted and escorted to their tables by the hostess, while we—and other Black couples—were simply handed over to servers without the same level of attention or hospitality. This happened multiple times and was uncomfortable to witness, especially in an environment that promotes inclusivity and five-star service.

We also noticed similar differences at the front desk, where our greeting was noticeably dull and dismissive compared to other guests who received warm, enthusiastic welcomes. It made us feel invisible in a place where we were supposed to feel celebrated.

On top of that, our room had serious maintenance and cleanliness issues. There was visible mold on the ceiling and walls, and moisture collected on the floors throughout our stay. We had to keep both the air conditioner and dehumidifier running constantly, which didn’t fully solve the problem. (I’ve included photos showing what we experienced.)

Even the butler service, which we paid extra for, missed the mark. We had requested a romantic bath on the balcony for the evening, but it was drawn hours early while we were still at the beach. Later, we asked for a reserved beach spot and a refreshed cooler after our spa session, but the cooler was full of water and not restocked. These may seem like small details, but for a honeymoon, details matter — and that level of service was simply not delivered.

This trip was supposed to be a celebration of love and relaxation, but instead, it left us feeling disappointed and overlooked. It was especially upsetting to see other guests receive noticeably better treatment. I truly hope Sandals takes this kind of feedback seriously and works to ensure all guests receive equal, high-quality service, regardless of race.

Not honoring 777 deal

Have been to Sandals several times and was always happy. Made reservations for next trip while in Bahamas a month ago. When invoice came , it was much higher. We called and were told that lady on property did not have authority to authorize the deal. In short, we lost 1000 dollar down payment because travel insurance is another expensive joke. Will be spending our money elsewhere.

Jamaica, I'm in love!

What a great stay! I was at the Royal Caribbean and the rest of my party was at Montego Bay (That was my bad, I booked late) I enjoyed the welcome with Syphanie (I'm sorry I misspelled it), and Lishane were so accommodating and the welcome drink was AMAZING. The resort was lovely, and my room was bright and airy. I enjoyed a jerk burger at the beachside cafe. I took the shuttle between properties a lot. After two days, I requested to be moved so I would not have to leave Monetgo Bay before the party got started (last shuttle is at 9:30pm) and they accommodated my request! My second room has a gorgeous view and was also light and airy. Oshane was amazing and the poolside bar (Tracy???) bartenders were amazing. Enjoyed the contests and activities. catamaraned and snorkled for the first time in my life! Thank you to both resorts and staff. I will be back. I love your beautiful country. PS Get the fish in foil and a Bob Marley.
