10/10 great services.

Came here for a week vacation with friends and the experience was very great. The Steak house, Hunter has probably the best rib eye steak I've ever had. Javier and the rest of the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I hope everyone experience this place once. Will definitely be back.

HIDEAWAY WANTS PUTTING AWAY

Just got back august 9 th this was definitely not a 5 star .Was at the hotel for 8 day before they made any attempt to clean the pool and even then it was a poor attempt. The food in main buffet was not good at all. The evening entertainment for the adults only was bad we did have 2 good nights .The rooms were always cleand .

Great option with great service! Able to accommodate food allergies!

Frederico was absolutely fantastic! His service was phenomenal and he was able to assist with my significant food allergies. Offering options and not making me feel like a burden. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was elegant and relaxing.

Ocean Point - Federico ⭐

Our experience at Ocean point restaurant was incredible. The food was delicious, however the night was made truly special by our waiter Federico. He was kind, attentive, and helped to create a lovely and welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Dont hesitate, make the trip!

My 2nd trip to Royalton, 1st to Hideaway so I'm happy to say both trips were amazing. We had Diamond Club, our butler's texted daily with the resort events, at each shift change they checked in. I strictly drink Coke soda, the resort only has Pepsi and my butler's got it for me. Make sure you tip them. Service was excellent everywhere. And we had no complaints!

Excellent service! Especially the butler's in the Diamond Club

We spent our anniversary at the Hideaway Royalton Riviera in the Diamond Club being completely pampered by our butler's Gabriel & Ulises! All our reservations, needs, & questions were taken care of with quick responses. The food at this resort is some of the best we've had in Cancun. The property has plenty of pools, bars, & restaurants to choose from to mix up the atmosphere from day to day.

Amazing time!

We had such an amazing time when visiting Cancun! The staff are so lovely & attentive and we will definitely be coming back here! Shoutout to David, Alex, Angel, josefat, Joel & Jamie!! They made our trip so enjoyable and are all such lovely people! The hotel is lucky to have them :)

Great hotel and lovely staff. 5* after the renovation.

The hotel is going to close for a 3 month renovation 2 days after we left so some comments may reflect this and will be fixed for when the resort opens again.

Negatives:
The biggest issue we had by far were the American guests in this resort. I was horrified by how loud, obnoxious and generally bad mannered they were. They were extremely dismissive of staff as they tried to enforce rules including covering up to go to the restaurants. One night in the Mexican restaurant a group of women similar age to us (early 30s) thought it was acceptable to blast music on their phone disturbing everyone else. And finally we actually couldn’t believe how bad the American guests were at tipping. They had the waiters and the bar staff bending over backwards doing more than what was expected and they didn’t show any appreciation, surprising considering how ingrained tipping is in their culture.

A lot of the food is very sweet. The food in the steak house unfortunately was not to our tastes at all and we weren’t able to eat it. The staff in the restaurant were extremely apologetic and went out of their way to be accommodating.

The Hideaway in my experience is often quieter and more relaxed part of the hotel. This wasn’t the case, the main pool definitely had a more relaxed atmosphere, although we did end up by the beach/on the beach which was much quieter.

On to the positives now which far outweighed the negatives
Positives:
I can’t begin to explain how hard the staff at this hotel work. They’re non stop, respectful, friendly and kind. There wasn’t a single staff member that we could say a bad word about and we would love to recognise them all however, there are a few that really stood out to us, the first is Juan Torres, a waiter in the buffet who remembered us every breakfast and lunch time. Had our drinks ready for us and became a friend over our time there. He was teaching a newer waiter Eliel (who was also very sweet) and he showed a lot of patience and kindness and you could tell he just wanted to do the best job. Jesus at the main buffet is also fantastic and it was great to see the camaraderie between the waiters. Veronica in the Agave (Mexican) restaurant and Luis and Ricardo in the Indian restaurant were also incredibly friendly and hospitable. Joel the pool waiter in the Hideaway was incredible, he didn’t stop doing laps checking in on everyone and making sure we were never without a drink in our hand.

Food:
Our favourite was the Indian, incredible flavour and a lot of it! The Mexican restaurant was a close second for us. The food in the buffet was amazing, for variety, and quality we went the buffet every morning and lunch time and we would always walk out satisfied. (The only recommendations would be to have plate warmers in buffet so the food stays hot).
Lots of bars with a range of cocktails and we use the cafe for coffee, cake and ice cream regularly too. Plenty of choice for everyone.

Pool/Beach:
No towel cards! Our towels were rolled up on the beds every morning so you didn’t have to mess about queuing for a towel. There were also plenty of extras on the towel stand too. People didn’t generally get to the Hideaway pool until about 11 so there was plenty of opportunities to grab a good spot.
The beach is lovely. A bit of seaweed but not excessive and definitely not enough to put you off from spending the day there. The water is lovely and warm although it’s not clear the sand is picked up by the waves. I would recommend having some parasols on the beach as the palm trees didn’t offer enough shade for the whole day.

Room:
Lovely and clean. Minibar restocked daily and we were also given extra bottles of water as we went through so much. The bed was excellent, slept really well every night and the black out curtains did their job. It would have been great to have extra storage space but wasn’t a deal breaker. We had no issues with noise and all the entertainment stopped by 10:30 so no problems with getting an early night if you wanted to.

Check in and out was very easy, we were disappointed that the WiFi stopped on check out, it would have been great for there to be a guest option as we didn’t leave for a few hours after check out.

Birthday Celebration

We went to Royalton in Negril, Jamaica in March 2025 they gave us a crappy room with two bed and partial ocean view, after our complains they changed our room but we still didn't like the place very much however, everyone we met said we should have stayed at the Royalton Hideway. So in August 10 to 17, 2025 we stayed at the Hideway in Cancun same crappy scenario, we asked for a king bed and ocean view which we paid extra for. They put us in two beds with a view of the roof, we could only see the ocean if we stood up and looked to the left. We got our room changed, however I HATE being lied to! Why not listed the room as partial or obstructed view? But as soon as I walked into the room I was sneezing; because the ceiling boards and fan were dusty, my husband cleaned it; the next day they did a deep cleaning. We enjoyed the Hideway much better, it was quiet, peaceful, exterior cleaner, and I LOVE that we could save pool chairs and there were enough chairs for everyone. The food and drinks were amazing especially the Mexican dishes and Tomahawk was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Every single staffs were super friendly and helpful especially Juan in the Hideway dinning room who treated us so warmly and welcoming. The entainers were excellent, the only reason I won't go back because the restaurants were hot which made it very difficult to enjoy a meal when sweat was running down my back to butt crack!!! We wanted to bring our kids, grandkids, families; and friends there for my husband's retirement but no AC no thank you!

Never again. Don’t waste your money

World’s worst. food was either tasteless, over cooked, or so salty it was inedible. Drinks were watered down. Mixed drinks had virtually no alcohol in them. Place was literally falling apart. Pool tiles were coming up. Shower handle in room kept falling off. Impossible to get reservations for dinner unless you planned 4 days in advance.
The excursion folks were plain useless. Was told all excursions were full day. Stated we did not want full day trip. Was never told 1/2 day trips were available, but they were.
Staff was very pleasant but overwhelmed. Only 1 bartender at swim up bar with about 40 people waiting for drinks.
Steak house had only 2 steaks on the menu
Seafood restaurant had 2 seafood selections only
Couldn’t pay me to go back.

Sad excuse for a resort

Called several times to have them check air conditioning and flooding shower but they never came repeated calls and still a no-show they had no clue to what celiac disease was, be prepared to get your own drink if you aren't a diamond member service is very sparse, would recommend many other chains then this Marriott, not much going on in the ways of shows either for nightly entertainment. Would not recommend
