Service and people are amazing.

The people here at Joia is amazing! Damion at the grill is an amazing chef and took amazing care of us. He made us a jerk grilled cheese that was ridiculous! Also Rennecia took care of us in guest services for golf and all of our excursions! Then Travis at the bar was so much fun and made great drinks just the way we like them.

So close to 5 Star

Stayed for 5 nights. Devonna at check-in was professional and hospitable– providing a welcoming start to a birthday trip. The beach and grounds are well-maintained. The water was beautiful and free of Sargassum. The drinks were free-flowing, with a wide variety on offer. The food, from the beach to the buffet and a la carte restaurants, was delicious except for the dreadful desserts at the Jamaican a la carte restaurant. I have eaten Jamaican sweet potato pudding my entire life and have never tasted anything as from pudding as whatever is in this photo. This was true of all the desserts at this restaurant, but thankfully, this was the only restaurant where desserts were a letdown, and Tomer at breakfast was a star, as were Jazmyn and Gary at the bar. Daisanel was simply a delight. Housekeeping and turndown were generally through, and the Iberostar App made it easy to know when the room was ready.
The major letdown was in service delivery times. We ate 5 breakfasts, and with only 2 exceptions, we waited until our meals were complete or almost complete to be offered coffee. I am a very slow eater, so this was 25+ minutes of waiting for someone to offer coffee. With breakfast. On the 2nd day, the water in the room wasn’t replenished, which isn’t a major issue. However, it took almost 90 minutes from the call to room service for the glasses and water to be delivered, which took multiple calls and trips to our room. Finally, we ordered a pillow on the last night from their pillow menu. The order was placed while we were at dinner. 3 hours later, ready to turn in, the pillows still hadn’t been delivered. The next morning at 10 am, as I was checking out, I received a notice through the app that the pillow had been delivered. Which would be funny if it weren’t indicative of the larger issue. This isn’t an “island time” concern; the issue seemed to be the result of understaffing, which is a management issue. Not sure if this is a cost-saving effort by the hotel, but it’s undercutting an otherwise wonderful experience. None of the issues were fatal, and I would return, but this would be a true 5-star experience if these staffing/timeliness concerns were addressed.

An Exceptional Butler Experience – Truly One of a Kind!

Words honestly can’t express how incredible our experience was with Andre at JOIA Rose Hall, Montego Bay, Jamaica. From the moment he joined the evening shift, everything changed — we instantly felt safe, seen, and completely cared for in every possible way. His attention to detail was unmatched, his communication flawless, and his attitude always warm and willing.

There was one particular moment that spoke volumes about who Andre is. He hadn’t heard from us for a while and grew concerned. Instead of simply waiting or sending a message, he came to our room to personally check on us — and he didn’t leave until he was sure we were okay. That level of care and genuine concern is something you can’t teach; it comes from the heart.

Andre went above and beyond for us, anticipating our needs before we could even express them. Every interaction reflected genuine care, professionalism, and joy in what he does. His level of service set a new standard for us — we didn’t want anyone else but him.

✨ JOIa Butler Experience Review – Phenomenal Stay with Andre & Alain

From the moment we arrived at JOIA, the experience was nothing short of phenomenal. Although we didn’t get much time with Alain, Andre was absolutely amazing — he truly made our stay unforgettable.

He made us feel safe, cared for, and protected in every possible way. Andre checked on us often, and even when we didn’t answer the phone, he came to find us just to make sure we were okay. That level of attentiveness is something I’ll never forget.

When we arrived, the room was beautifully decorated for my birthday, and throughout the trip both Andre and Alain made sure everything was perfect. They remembered it was my birthday, noted my mushroom allergy, and consistently followed through on their check-ins exactly when they said they would. Those small but thoughtful details meant so much.

I’ve had butler service before in my travels, but this was next-level — truly top-notch. Andre has set the bar incredibly high. It’s going to be hard to go anywhere else and expect this kind of service. The “wow” moment for me was when we didn’t respond to his texts (we were just taking a nap), and he was already at our door checking to see if we needed anything. That’s genuine care.

The birthday touches, from the decorations to the small treat waiting in the room, made everything feel so personal and special. I felt pampered, cared for, and protected. Every time we turned around, Andre was right there, quietly making sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive.

I would absolutely recommend JOIA to all my family, friends, and coworkers. The experience was seamless — no upcharges, no pressure — just pure hospitality where you feel completely in control while being treated like royalty.

5 Star: Definitely worth it!

First time in Jamaica and will definitely not be the last. Joia Rose Hall has exceeded our expectations. We have stayed at other Iberostar resorts before and have always been pleased with our stays.

The workers are wonderful here. Everyone has been an absolute pleasure. Good eats, great pools and amazing beach, can’t ask for more. We are still here, this is day 5 and we leave back to Canada Monday. Though it is always nice to go home, we will definitely miss it here. We will absolutely be repeat guests.

Great place to stay. Couple of bad quirks!

This was a wonderful place to stay. Well maintained. The staff at the restaurants were friendly. Cleaning was excellent. The app is no good! If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is not the right place. Pretty noisy with lots going on. Lots of people selling weed and souvenirs all along the beach staring at 6am and going late. The spa was nice. I will warn people that the so called credits are a total scam. You do not get money off any services provided. The “credit” Is prefigured into the prices that you can only see through a concierge.

Amazing Honeymoon

My husband and I stayed at the Iberostar Joia for our honeymoon and it was beyond our expectations! Having stayed at several different resorts in Jamaica, the first thing I noticed about this property was how clean and fresh everything was. The front staff were helpful and friendly.
We stayed in a BEAUTIFUL ocean front Butler suite. The room was breathtaking! Very clean, and spacious. There were so many amenities I can't even list them all. The balcony swing was so relaxing in the afternoon, and the room service did not disappoint.
Our morning Butler Travis was knowledgeable, helpful and went out of his way to make me feel comfortable. 10/10 Butler service! Jaime our evening Butler, made sure we had an amazing dinner at Aunt Ruby's (located at the sister property Selection) with an amazing Chef Randy, and Auleta the ala cart Mgr was Fantastic! Chef Randy made a special steamed redsnapper dish for my husband that was so delicious it was beyond words!
Cassandra the bartender at the pool bar, made our drinks to our liking with ease and was so friendly!
This resort exceeded my expectations and I will Definitely recommend this property! We will absolutely be returning!

A Beautiful, Relaxing Stay at JOIA Rose Hall – and the People Made It Unforgettable!

We stayed at JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar in Jamaica for eight nights in late September through early October, and for our first trip to Jamaica, it absolutely did not disappoint! We had heard so many wonderful things about the island and its people, and everything lived up to the hype.

The resort itself was beautiful — clean, well maintained, and easy to relax in. There were plenty of pool chairs and space to unwind. The pools were a perfect temperature and kept spotless. The beach was gorgeous with even more room to spread out and take in the ocean views. There were a few local vendors walking the beach selling souvenirs, but they were friendly and respectful if you declined. The ocean water was very warm, though we ended up spending more of our time at the pool.

The restaurants were very good overall. The entrées were consistently delicious — easily the best part of each meal. Appetizers were decent but not particularly memorable, and the desserts could use a little improvement (many were dry or lacking in flavor). My recommendation for future guests: spend as much time as you can at the Jamaican restaurant — the food there is truly exceptional and was a highlight of the trip.

A couple of small frustrations: some restaurants opened late due to staffing issues, and our in-room drink fridge wasn’t consistently restocked as promised. This was especially noticeable with the bottled water, which we occasionally had to call to the lobby to request.

We went on one excursion — a package that included Dunn’s River Falls and a catamaran trip, and it was absolutely worth it. The falls were beautiful, and the guides made the experience both safe and fun. Definitely hike the falls! It looks intimidating at first, but with good water shoes and a patient pace, it’s completely manageable. Huge thanks to our guide Leroy and photographer O’Neil for making that day so memorable!

The absolute best part of our trip, though, was the resort staff. Everyone we met was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. They truly made our stay special:

Sean (bellman) – our first impression of the resort and such a great one! He greeted us warmly, shared tips for our stay, and checked in throughout the week to see how we were enjoying everything.

Kimiesha (lobby bar & events) – truly the highlight of our evenings. She made us feel like friends, remembered our days, shared stories, and brought so much joy to every interaction.

Cassandra and Lloyd (bartenders) – made fantastic pain-killer cocktails and always greeted us by name with a smile.

Karen (server at the steakhouse) – gave us great service, excellent wine recommendations, and wonderful conversation.

Mr. Fresh and McKenzie (entertainment team) – brought so much energy to the beach and resort events. We loved playing volleyball and dancing on the beach with them!

Every one of these team members made our trip exceptional, and it’s because of them that we already want to come back. We had talked about trying another resort next time, but now we’d rather return to JOIA Rose Hall just to see this incredible team again.

Home sweet home

The whole place is a vibe. The overall feel was really good. We felt like family.
The hotel grounds were clean and very well maintained.
Around the hotel was under construction which did not affect my stay.
My room stayed clean and cool. The way the bathroom was setup helped since there were two of us having to get ready. The staff were absolutely amazing! Glen, Andre, Alain and Owen were our butlers. Melissa, Shelissa, Mayogal, Donovan, Andre, Amanda all bartenders or servers. The concierge’s were super helpful. Everyone on the entertainment side! Check in was easy and quick as was checkout. The cost was affordable for the amount of time we spent. We unexpectedly had our bed decorated for us, the door had a sign saying “Welcome Back” a dinner table was decorated. All done with fresh flowers. The view from our balcony was AMAZING! Ocean view is the best way to go. If you are thinking about staying at the JOIA Rosehall, stop thinking and just do it!

Iberostar JOIA Rose Hall continues to be an amazing resort but the people make it special

My wife and I returned to JOIA at Rose Hall for a 10 day birthday trip. We had been here several times before since our honeymoon trip in 2015. This resort remains the best possible choice in Montego Bay Jamaica (or elsewhere as far as we are concerned).

The food is outstanding, with very impressive ala carte restaurants including a steakhouse, a Jamaican restaurant, an Asian/hibachi, an Italian restaurant, and a French/gourmet. Do yourself a favor and book the French/gourmet. Every item on the menu is outstanding with an excellent lobster bisque,lamb chops, coq a vin, and an outstanding duck dish, also Nicholas and the rest of the crew will deliver 5 star service while you enjoy. The Italian is also excellent with an out of this world lasagna with braised short rib, risotto and an excellent ossobuco. See if Alex can take care of you, he delivered great service and smiles.

Also the resort coffee shop has a lot of treats, including the amazing Rassa who can whip up whatever you want.

There was no problem getting a spot on the beach or by the pool any time of day. Theolyn and Seon and Anishka in the towel area are working hard for you all day long insuring your comfort.

The entertainment crew is on the beach all day every day. Bubbles, Alrick, Lady D, Ace and the rest are running games and activities to keep you entertained if you're feeling active. You'll also see them in the lobby at night and at the shows creating fun wherever they go.

For other club members, the members area is peaceful with lots of beds right next to the ocean and your own bar expertly tended by Melissa. Donovan is very professional and tirelessly working to make sure you get whatever you need. Shelisa does the same and is the life of the party hosting dominoes, lunchtime trivia and other events in the members area.

The front pool is more of a party vibe. Shavon and Travis and Keresa and Amanda are tending bar and keeping things rocking. You also have the option of an activities pool with water volleyball and aerobics classes. There is a more serene pool behind the activity pool.

The entertainment at night is good and sometimes great with artists performing almost every night at the lobby bar and then things like a white party, reggae party, steel drums parties after the in lobby entertainment on the beach or in the theatre.

The resort is well managed but the people mentioned above and so many others working to make you stay flawless are what sets this resort apart from the others we have tried. They do everything to make everyone's trip special and unforgettable. Give it a try.

Best Birthday Vacation

Went to this resort to celebrate my 60th birthday and it was absolutely amazing. Honestly I can say it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. The service here is top notch and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. 10 out of 10. The property was beautiful and well maintained. The food was excellent and delicious. The rooms are very nice. Beautiful pools and I liked the proximity to the beach. I will definitely be returning very soon. I could not have asked for a better birthday trip. My room was decorated for my birthday and I was given complimentary champagne. The upgrade and butler service was the icing on the cake.

Family of 6 with elderly family. Well worth it!
