STAY AWAY - YOU WILL LOSE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, EVEN IF YOU TRY TO LEAVE EARLY - MANAGERS DO NOT HELP AT ALL

I had the displeasure of staying in this hotel, and it's a complete rip off. I came with my family and we stayed in two of the grand suites on the same level so we can be near each other. Every day we had issues with the cooling and got a lot of false promises. The bed sheets upon arrival were dusty and had stains on the foot side of the bed in the master suite. I made a complaint to the butler service we had and they took almost a full day before we had new sheets ready.

One of the biggest points I'd like to make is their cleaning services are a bunch of thieves. They stole my cologne on the very last day of my trip. I left a tip every day after the room was cleaned just to thank them for their services since we were quite a large group.

Andrew McFarline and Calvine Suckan were the managers our butlers had us contact and they were the worse to work with. They gave us a very small portion of a refund back for our stay which does not even equate to a one night's stay. They said they will also look into the matter of the theft and gave us their e-mails to reach back out to them for a more promising solution when we got back home.

I've been reaching out to them for over a month and they have done nothing to rectify this or find my cologne. I really wish I could leave more of a negative review on how bad the service is here. The food was OK at the most, I've stayed at better resorts in Montego Bay, and I would definitely go back to them. Giving this place a shot was the worse, they don't restock room fridge, the cooling is bad as I stated, and you will have to wait around the night time to get your sheets changed if you're lucky. On top of that the butlers are only interested in giving you quality service depending on how great you tip them every night. We tipped everyone pretty good, we were a large group and just wanted to have fun, overall we had fun out of the resort, coming back to it there was always an issue.

They need a overhaul on their current staff. I would recommend folks to try a different resort and save yourself the peace of mind. Giving this hotel your money will only cause you trouble going into your stay.

The Jewel Grande Spa experience was AMAZING!!!! My massage therapist Lanakaye and Inez left me totally de- stressed. Amazing hands!!. My spa butler Christal was sooo attentive and assisted me through the whole process.

Best staff anywhere…

The resort is gorgeous and clean. The staff are always willing to help in a real way…not just superficial. I had some health problems while there and they immediately found the right help which involved the nurse. She was compassionate and caring, explaining all the possibilities and possible charges. She immediately called a doctor who arrived within 10 minutes. He was thorough, compassionate, and explained all well. He exhausted possible diagnoses and gave suggestions for easing pain while here. I became an emotional mess and everybody from bellmen to front desk to wait staff were generous with encouragement and hugs. They all helped my husband feel safe as well. Some of the names of those who treated us well were of course, the Nurse and Doctor whose names I did not write down, Front Desk staff: Kadian, Melicia, Natalia, and the always wonderful Vernon the bellman. He remembered our names and always called me Queen❤️ Again, the wait staff were fabulous, especially at Le Bouchon (probably misspelled) the Italian restaurant, and a sweet female bartender at the small bar near the pool near Sabal.

What made this trip apart from the beautiful architecture and the stunning natural views, was the wonderful staff!

Wonderful Staff

Just returned from a wonderful week at the Jewel. There was a few hiccups in the first couple of days but with the help of Ms.Juliet Gray (supervisor guest services) my problem as solved. She also made follow up phone calls inquiry about my stay .We wanted to express our appreciation to some of the staff members that went above and beyond to make our week special: Venessar (supervisor restaurant) she made sure our food was always on point up until our very last day. Asari (Lead Concierge) any questions or reservations he handled without hesitation. Opal (check-in clerk) always smiling, pleasant and remembers my name. Andrae (guest services) always called to make sure everything was OK and greeted me during my check-out.Cabana attendant don't remember his name was very attentive to everything we needed while we were in the cabana. All of the entertainment staff by the pool were great. Last but not lease the Jerk Chicken chef on the beach, the chicken was bomb everyday.

Very amazing staff always ready to deliver

I just want to say a massive thank you to all staff at this resort. I have never seen such hardworking, compassionate and always caring staff like this, I am in lack of words on how to describe how excellent these staff are. I honestly did not want to leave the place I just landed today in England and am already so sad and ill. About the food and drinks in this place, I don’t even know how to describe this the food was so good and always different options u just eat and drink whatever u want. Also another thing about this place. Even if u dont have money to book for activities trust me u can stay at the resort and still enjoy yourself as everything is there they have a club and every day entertainers at around 21:30. When it comes to cleanliness, I don’t even know, the cleanliness over there is top notch. I just can’t explain how good this place is everyone needs this experience it. I wish I had booked 2 weeks instead of one . I can’t wait to come back to Jamaica with family and if am back am still choosing this resort again. If anyone is looking for a resort that deliver most especially if u have a family, this is the place.

Jewel Grande is a gem in Jamaica

My first experience (birthday celebration and vacation) was wonderful. The2BR suite reserved for us was very nice and spacious. It was clean, had great views and comfortable for 3 people. The butler service with our suite was nothing short of amazing. We have 2 butlers and they were very accommodating and ensured any needs were addressed.
The resort's restaurants were all top notch. The food we impeccable! Fresh, very little preservatives and always tasteful yet not overly seasoned. Fresh fish, steamed veggies, and other tasty cuisine. Authentic desserts and fresh juice everywhere you go.
The staff was so, so welcoming. They made you feel right at home, so relaxed.

I would recommend Jewel Grande and I would definitely stay there again.

Home away from home

I don't know where to start.....
My family and I went to Jewel Grande in September for my mum's birthday and loved every part of it. The food was lovely along with the staff and our rooms were so beautiful; with an oceanfront view! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could have ever been. In particular, the entertainment and the pool side staff made us feel like family. To name a few: Ralston, Andre, Nickeisha, Whitney, O'ryan, Altiman, Glenroy, Jermain, Monike, Ricky and Chef Calvin

Disappointed

The view of the place is extremely nice and the rooms are beautiful but the food at the restaurants are disgusting . I just came back from Jamaica yesterday and stayed at this resort for 5 days and was extremely disappointed with the food and drinks . The bars never have anything sufficient to make a nice cocktail ! The restaurant Waves need to permanently close because the menu is horrible and the food does not taste good . This is a resort in Jamaica and to my surprise the menu is not balanced with some Jamaican cuisine. Some people actually fly to another country to enjoy the country dishes . The bartender and the staff are so nice but the food is not good at all . The burger and fries station served some oily fries and chicken tenders on 10/6/25 because of course they were out of wings at 12:45pm when they had just opened at 12:30 lml! What a joke for a resort . You pay so much money and you can’t enjoy the food . The juices they serve at the buffet tasted like it came from a juice box ( how you can’t get fresh juice from a Caribbean country that grow their crop naturally ) . If you want a nice room to stay at , this is the place but if you want good authentic Jamaica food and beverages this is definitely not the resort to book with . I give them a 2.5 stars and will be rating them on every social media, google , Expedia ..,. Everywhere because they need to do way better !!!

Most relaxing four days I've had all year

We visited to celebrate our anniversary and it was amazing. The staff treated us so well and we got treated (with cake) at every restaurant. Most relaxing four days I've had all year. Shout out to Calvin from the Pelican Shack; and Shantoya, Tyola and Jodi who served us so well. Very polite, very attentive.

Would definitely come here again, but will bring friends next time

Came here to celebrate an anniversary. Checked in to the room to find a lovely plater of chocolate covered grapes. At the on site restaurants that we had reservation we received a nicely decorated dessert plate.
The room was nice an spacious. Stayed in room C501 of the Sentry building. Excellent view of the property and the surrounding sea.
The breakfast buffet had a mix of local and international options.
Non motorized water activities were available.
While all the staff present were professional, some exceeded expectation to ensure our stay was a wonderful one especially chef Calvin and jenelle.

You'll starve, food is lacking and if present, poor quality. Staff are friendly.

Food service at the Buffet, Orchids is horrendous. Very little variety, quantity, poor taste and quality. If you arrive at the Buffet within 1.5 hrs of closing, about 50% of the food items are finished and will not be refilled. You leaving feeling hungry with few other options. Room service food is horrid and cost $10 for delivery. The Pelican Grill's food is below average, Jerk hut come with dry roll, poorly spiced jerk chicken, no rice or additional condiments. Crickets Grill, each time we went there ( within 1 hr of closing) they ran out of food. This is my second time coming here and I will not be returning. I would not have returned here if this was the experienced I had 2 years ago.

I've been to resorts that were cheaper and far better food ( RIU Aquarelle's food was splendid).

The food and service was Le bouchon was descent, the staff was friendly and prompt.

Overall the staff on the resort were great. I'll not be returning because the piss poor experience with food.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE! The service, the room, the limited food options, the lack of communication, everything has been terrible since the beginning of my 2 week stay. The buffet was only open 2 days for dinner out of 2 weeks because they ‘wanted to focus on the service provided at the A la Carte restaurant’, which is only 3 restaurants. I have paid for all inclusive and instead i have been restricted to 3 restaurants for the duration of 2 weeks, which is absolutely ridiculous. The hotel doesn’t not communicate nothing with their guest and the food options being limited. The pools were also closed during our stay.
I booked a two bed bedroom and received one bed in the bedroom and then when I have gone to reception to get this rectified, they said that i must pay $400 per night for an upgrade , even though they didn’t provide the room that I had bought.
In addition to the bed issue, there was also issues with the light in the bedroom. The spot lights were flickering and dim and the main light and fan wasn’t working. We called maintenance at 2pm on Monday and they said that someone should be with me shortly to fix the issue. Nobody came until 8pm and then said he was coming back in 30 minutes. He didn’t come back to fix the light until 7:30pm Tuesday evening. During this time, I would call reception to receive an update and each time it was that the maintenance man is working on something and he would be with us shortly. Another issue we had with the room, is the damp spot by the bathroom, which would only stay dry if the AC was on. We told maintenance and they had told us that there is nothing that they can do and we should keep the AC on because the damp is due to condensation. I am not sure where the condensation would come from, if nobody has showered or anything. The communication at this resort is ridiculous. Also when going to the A La Carte restaurant, please be ready to be served bread and your drink before your food comes out late. Each time we visited the italian restaurant, we would be served warm bread and would have to wait minimum of 45 minutes to get our food that we ordered.
This has been the worst resort i have stayed at in Jamaica and I would never recommend anyone to spend their money here. Please spend that extra and go to the RIU because you will get your moneys worth.
Entertainment is dead.
No daily schedule.
Poor communication.
Limited food.
This place is not catered for young people, so if you are looking to have a good time at your resort, DONT BOOK HERE. YOU WILL LEAVE DISAPPOINTED!!!

The getaway of getaways!

In a world where many faces aren't friendly, come to the Jewel Grand for service filled with gratitude! I found it quick to unwind here. I enjoyed breakfast at the Orchid Buffet, but the highlight of the hotel is truly the staff. A few people to mention who showed so much kindness were Mrs. Venessar & Mrs. Teressa and there’s so many others, but I didn’t have a chance to get their names yet, but I’ll be filling you in the details of our trip! They treated families with children like their loving own!

While the hotel itself is beautiful, the people who staff it make it shine even brighter. With clean rooms, excellent service, and genuine care for guests, this place allows anyone to enjoy a relaxing getaway. I’ve seen honeymooners celebrating, families with children having fun, and most importantly, you can relax one of the most beautiful properties with your own loved ones. Seriously, book your stay—you won’t be disappointed. Sorry for the vivid detail, I’m preparing for the last step of my doctoral degree.

Drugs Everywhere, No Service, No Accountability

This is NOT a family resort. Guests openly smoked weed at the pool and beach while staff stood by and did nothing even a “Nana” left her child to get high (we know because our children were playing with her child; she ended up passing out and unable to walk coherently after smoking her joint). The fragrance of skunk was everywhere despite it being a smoke-free/drug-free hotel. Do NOT let them fool you, it was not Hookah; we know what weed looks and smells like. My husband is a cop in the United States. We booked a butler suite but no butler ever came despite asking four times, and housekeeping was inconsistent. We stayed quiet out of concern for our safety (since even staff tolerated the drug use and seemed to help facilitate it), only raising it at checkout, the manager ignored us completely. Food was pretty good at the restaurants but service was painfully slow. The buffet was underwhelming. Beach was pretty and warm but the sand was filled with trash. If you value safety, service, or honesty in advertising, avoid Jewel Grande at all costs. We will never return to Jamaica after this experience.

Disappointing experience

My husband and I were disappointed with our recent stay at Jewel Grande Montego Bay. For a property that promotes itself as a five-star hotel, we certainly did not receive five-star treatment from management or supervisory staff.

To make matters worse, we brought over 100 guests to your property, as we hosted our wedding next door at the Rose Hall Beach Club. Given that level of business, we expected to be treated with care and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was far from the case.

At the start of the booking process, our sales representative Tamina was courteous and responsive. However, as time went on, her professionalism declined significantly. It often took weeks and multiple calls to get a response to even simple inquiries. Wedding planning is stressful enough, but her delays and lack of communication only added to that stress.

A major issue arose when we attempted to add a minor to a room. Despite our signed group contract clearly stating that children stay free, we were told we would be charged. I sent a copy of our agreement to Claudia, a supervisor, who said she would contact Tamina and follow up. We never received any resolution. Our interaction with Claudia was curt and dismissive, and we were not treated with respect or value. This matter remains unresolved despite repeated follow-ups since October 2nd.

Several of our guests were also unhappy with their accommodations. Rooms in Building B had unpleasant odors, visible mold, and debris from ongoing renovations. When guests requested to move to another building, they were simply relocated within the same one, leaving the issues unresolved. Our guests endured the situation out of loyalty to us, but many stated they would not return.

Our disappointment continued at the Pierside Restaurant. After returning from an excursion one evening, I arrived wearing a dark cover-up over a dark swimsuit. Since it’s a beachside restaurant that closes at 9:30 p.m., we went straight there for dinner. Despite my modest attire, a supervisor refused to seat me, insisting “rules are rules” in a dismissive tone. My husband had to run to our room on the 11th floor to get me a T-shirt before I could be seated. Once seated, we saw a large cockroach running across the restaurant floor. A guest even joked, “You weren’t allowed in with a cover-up, but roaches can roam freely here.” This was both ironic and unacceptable, especially for a five-star property. I have photo and video evidence of the incident. Additionally, the service at Pierside was extremely slow.

While front-line employees generally demonstrated warmth and professionalism, management and supervisory staff fell short. However, several employees deserve special recognition:
• Butlers Shanika and Vinroy were exceptional attentive, courteous, and proactive throughout our stay.
• Nickesha and Teresa consistently greeted us and our guests by name, checked on our well-being, and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy.

These individuals truly exemplify hospitality and should be recognized for their service they were the highlight of an otherwise disappointing experience.

Other issues also deserve attention:
• Security gate and front desk coordination were poor. Several guests had difficulty checking in because their names were “not on the list,” and security often couldn’t reach the main office.
• The complimentary rooms included in our group contract remains unresolved. During the wedding week, Tamina assured us we could finalize details afterward, but when we followed up, she said it was “too late.” We requested escalation on October 9th, and she claimed to contact her supervisor, yet we’ve received no response.
• On our wedding night, our room was supposed to be decorated with champagne as promised by Tamina. This never happened, and despite our butlers raising it to supervisors, no one followed up or apologized.

Overall, this experience was far below what we expected as paying guests and as a wedding couple who brought significant business to your property. We left feeling undervalued, disrespected, and embarrassed by how we and our guests were treated.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, we would not consider returning to Jewel Grande Montego Bay or recommending it for future events. We are still awaiting follow-up emails from Tamina and management regarding our complimentary room.

A week of relaxation!

We stayed in a one-bedroom oceanfront suite in Sabal Palm, and it was absolutely incredible! The suite was spacious — with two large bathrooms, a full kitchen, a comfortable living room, two TVs, and a balcony overlooking the ocean. It truly felt like our own private apartment for the weekend.

The buffet for breakfast and lunch was excellent, with plenty of delicious options, and the service was consistently great throughout our stay. Our favorite drinks were definitely from the main pool bar and at the hibachi pier — both spots were fun and had great vibes.

The Italian restaurant was also really good!

There’s so much to explore on the property, and they offer a variety of activities during the day and at night — you could easily spend your entire trip here without ever needing to leave.

The beach was beautiful and spacious, with warm, clear water. There was a bit of seaweed in some areas, but it didn’t bother us at all since there was plenty of open space and it never felt crowded.

The grande spa was amazing! Nicest spa I have ever been to! You definitely get the royal treatment! It is calm and serene, I highly recommended the Himalayan salt massage!

A special shoutout to Allan, who took such great care of us on the beach! He was always smiling, upbeat, and made us feel like family. His positive energy and kindness truly made our experience unforgettable.

Great stay but could be improved

We had a lovely stay for 2 weeks for our honeymoon, however nothing special to congratulate us at all all week so a little touch would have gone a long way. The views were great and the staff were fantastic!

Rooms: could benefit from a full length mirror and somewhere to get ready outside the bathroom and somewhere to hang wet clothes outside.

Food: orchids lacks character and atmosphere it felt like a school hall, lots of options were popular and were out almost every day so a lot of waiting around. Some nights all restaurants were closed except Pierside (bookable restaurant) and one other option but when you arrive 10mins after opening there was already an hour wait which is not ideal with young kids. Steak is very salty but the salad bar is great at Boucherie.

Pools: clubhouse pool was closed for first week and main pool and swim up bar for most of second week. Avoid main pool if you want to relax as this is where all the activities take place with constant shouting down microphones and dragging you up to join in. Clubhouse pool is much more relaxing unless there is work going on in the towers next door then all you can hear is drilling and grinding.

Entertainment: on a weekly rolling rota so if you’re there for 2 weeks you would have to watch the same shows twice (karaoke on Thursdays is horrendous felt like I was in Benidorm).

LATE CHECK OUT IS $50 PER HOUR AFTER 12pm!!! We thought this was scandalous! We booked a spa day pass for $50 per person for the day which they don’t really advertise but we had full use of the spa facilities and a spa butler for the day and avoided the ridiculous charges as we had a late flight and was at the hotel until 7pm.

Gift shop is expensive, approx $25 for a kids bucket & spade set.

People walking around pestering you around the pool/beach to buy spa treatments (again at ridiculous prices)

Massive shout out to Whitney and the evening DJ you guys were MEGA!

Fabulous staff!

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand in Montego Bay, and one of the real highlights for us was Calvin, the chef at breakfast. He went out of his way each morning to make our son Jack – and the other children too – feel welcome and special. Calvin always had a smile, took the time to chat, and made sure they had exactly the food they liked. His warmth and friendliness made such a difference to our mornings and became a lovely part of our holiday. Thank you, Calvin, for helping make our stay so memorable!

Best stay ever!

This place is simply breathtaking. It had all the amenities anyone could ever ask for in a vacation spot. I had absolutely zero issues with this wonderful place that I was extremely sad I couldn't stay more than a week. I met so many amazing workers. In fact I want to put a shout out to the two girls that done activities they were so much fun! But honestly, what made the trip unforgettable was the server named Marvin. He literally made everyone feel welcomed and made the stay absolutely marvelous. His smiles, his hard work, and his jokes were out of this world. He was there everyday I was except one and I could definitely tell when he was not there. The atmosphere wasn't the same without him. His work ethic is Definitely one to take notice. He made sure all the dirty dishes were picked up in a timely manner and never stopped to make sure everyone had what they needed or wanted. Y'all need more like him lol!
