We booked a 2 night stay in October. Then there was a hurricane in NJ and the airline asked us to cancel or change our flight. We contacted both booking (with whom we had booked) and the property to change the reservation. We sent them emails with the communications from the airline, at their request. They gave us the run around saying that the supervisor who had the authority to change the reservation was unavailable (5 different times we called) and that we should contact booking. We did that many times as well and were told that only Ziva had the authority to change anything. Booking contacted the property on our behalf as well and was unable to reach anyone or were told that they needed documentation (which we had already emailed to them). Do NOT book this hotel. If you have any situation out of your control you will lose your money.

The pool was spacious, and the waiters were attentive, patrolling as needed to take drink orders, which was very convenient. I particularly enjoyed the nightly show, with the lucha libre performance being a highlight. Great trip for business and pleasure
We had a fantastic time. We stayed in the turquoise tower and had Miguel and Diego for our butlers. They were very helpful and made us feel extra special and welcomed. The beach cabanas are a must and we really enjoyed the food trucks and smoothie bar.

We arrived before the 3 PM check-in time and found a long line. The process was surprisingly slow, and we soon realized why — the front desk staff were aggressively upselling. We were offered upgrades to the adult side, then to the club level, and then told our room had a “partial ocean view,” which turned out not to be true. When we declined all the offers, the front desk clerk actually mumbled something under his breath — very unprofessional.
Although our room was supposedly ready, we still had to wait before accessing it. Check-out was just as frustrating. We had a few hours before our shuttle pickup and asked for a late checkout, only to be told it would cost $300 for just three extra hours. I understand hotels upsell services, but this felt excessive and left a bad impression.
The beach setup was another letdown — most of the already small beach was taken up by cabanas (for an extra cost), leaving only a few crowded chairs for regular guests. It gave the place a cheap, nickel-and-dimed feeling.
The food was very disappointing — I didn’t expect gourmet meals at an all-inclusive, but not a single meal stood out as good. You also can’t order food from your beach or pool chair; you have to get up and get it yourself, which defeats part of the “relaxing resort” experience.
On the positive side, the drinks were good, the room was clean and nicely set up, and the pools were well-maintained.
Overall, though, the negatives outweighed the positives. Between the upselling, mediocre food, limited beach access, and poor service attitude, this resort just isn’t worth it.

Super clean, staff were all super polite and eager to help with any needs you may have. The resort was beautiful and so many different things to do there you never have to leave.

• No towel card needed. Towel racks were well-stocked, allowing you to help yourself to as many towels as you desire.
• 2 beaches - one large public beach and the resort’s smaller beach. Both are swimmable with clear & calm waters.
• Quality drinks are top-shelf, but make sure you specify which brand of liquor you want.

• The 3rd building is the premium, adults-only Turquoise Tower. It offers private access to Punta Vista’s rooftop infinity pool and bar (you need to scan your Turquoise Tower room key in the elevators to access).
ENTERTAINMENT
The nightly 8 PM shows are hosted outside, facing the lobby, rather than in a traditional theater setting. The audience sits on pillows on the stairs. The Magic, Soul Sisters and Star shows are entertaining and enjoyable.
CHANGES
• Tres Cervezas used to have bar food, but their menu changed to Mexican food.
• The Den (mixology) – a new cocktail bar/lounge, open 12PM-12AM.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT – Please:
• Bring back bar food, especially the lemon pepper fried chicken wings with a light batter that were served at Tres Cervezas 7 years ago.
• Bring back the to-go containers for takeout. Restaurants no longer provide to-go containers for guests who want to take food along with them.
• Pastel should have a greater variety of candies and desserts and allow for self-service. 7 years ago, there was a wider selection, and guests could serve themselves.

This is our 6th time returning to Hyatt Ziva Cancun because:• Guests do not have to wear resort wristbands.
• No towel card needed. Towel racks were well-stocked, allowing you to help yourself to as many towels as you desire.
• 2 beaches - one large public beach and the resort’s smaller beach. Both are swimmable with clear & calm waters.
• Quality drinks are top-shelf, but make sure you specify which brand of liquor you want.
• Coffee shop with delicious drinks, open 6 AM – 11 PM.
• Large gym, open 6 AM- 10 PM.

The property itself is stunningly designed, offering multiple pool options. For families with little ones, there's a covered area with shallow water, perfect for safe splashing. Our children, aged 11 and 12, enjoyed the other pools, although the depth of the pools for tweens made activities like volleyball and football catch a bit challenging. We particularly loved floating between the north and south pools. The pool near the public beach was quieter and incredibly relaxing, while all the daily activities took place at the main pool by the private beach.
One of the highlights of our stay was renting a cabana for $183.00 USD per day. This included two refreshing coconuts, a mini facial done right in the cabana, and attentive waiter service for both food and drinks. Elio, one of the waiters, was exceptional! He remembered our names and orders each day, providing super attentive service. Due to my allergies and sensitive skin, I requested a neck and shoulder massage instead of the mini facial, and this was accommodated without any issues. Victor was also fantastic in helping us secure our cabana reservations for the week, even allowing us to make changes as needed.
Regarding daily activities, there were games at the pool and beach volleyball at 12:00 pm, perfect for our children's age group. However, most other activities were geared toward younger kids, such as bracelet making, bingo, and beach walks. Eddie, from the activities team, made our pool games and volleyball sessions immensely fun! On Fridays through Sundays, they set up a blow-up obstacle course in the pool by the public beach, which was a big hit. I do wish there were more activities aimed at older kids. The game room offered free Xbox play, but the arcade games required extra payment, which was a bit of a letdown as we expected everything to be included in the all-inclusive package.
We also enjoyed a dolphin swim right on-site, which was a special offer at $129.00 USD per person. This included the Primax package, where we spent an hour with a trainer and two dolphins, engaging in various activities and free snorkeling. The experience was fantastic, and a photographer captured amazing pictures. However, the photo prices were exorbitant—$116.00 USD for 10 downloaded photos and $316.00 USD for all photos (no videos). Despite the steep price, we ended up purchasing them.
The variety of food options at the resort impressed us, especially as we consider ourselves food snobs. The main buffet and Moongate offered different options each day, and we never faced any issues finding something delicious, even with our vegetarian preferences and my youngest child's picky eating habits. Fernando and Daniel, our waiters at Moongate, were attentive and accommodating. Dana, the hostess at the Italian restaurant, remembered my vegetarian preference each time we visited. The kids' menu at every restaurant ensured that our children were happy and well-fed.
The nightly shows were entertaining, though I would rate them a 6/7 out of 10. We initially booked an oceanfront king room with a pull-out bed, but upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade to a two-story room with two full bathrooms for an additional $1,300 USD for five nights. This upgrade was worth every penny, providing us with ample space and comfort.
Housekeeping services were top-notch, with daily cleaning, nightly turndowns, and restocking of food and beverages. Special requests were promptly fulfilled. The private beach offered non-motorized water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding, though it had limited space for kids to dig and play. The public beach, while a bit of a hike from the resort, was safe and fun for our kids to explore. We felt secure with the presence of police on four-wheelers patrolling the area daily.
Overall, this Hyatt property exceeded our expectations with its fantastic food options, clean and comfortable rooms, clear beaches, and diverse pool options. We had an amazing time and look forward to returning!

From the moment we arrived, the entire team went above and beyond to make our family trip unforgettable. The culinary team especially made our experience so enjoyable. We forgot to add Santiago, the Culinary Concierge, on WhatsApp during check-in, but the next day he somehow found us in the resort and personally ensured the kitchen provided the right meals for our 1-year-old baby. That thoughtful attention truly made us feel cared for and special.
Huge thanks to Sous Chef Aldo, Sous Chef Monserrat, Pastry Chef Guadalupe, and Santiago for their outstanding dedication, your teamwork and kindness touched our hearts. The resort itself is breathtakingly beautiful, with pristine pools, clean beaches, and food and drinks that were consistently delicious.
If I could make one small suggestion, it would be to invest a bit more in baby chairs for the restaurants. Some straps were broken, and our little one was able to climb out easily, which felt unsafe. Other than that, everything was perfect.
Thank you again for the special decorations, the balloons, and the birthday cake that made our baby’s first birthday celebration so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

Ever seen!
As a travel agent and world traveler I have been all over the world to many all-inclusive, etc. The Ridiculous charges for lobster, steak and a couple other items with absolutely unacceptable. The hotel basically was fine. The food was very acceptable. The location was great but I was just amazed… $99 to almost $200 for lobster. My partner wanted some sake at the Asian restaurant none was available… Oh yes, for a minimum of $79 for a small bottle . I would not call this all inclusive. I would call it inclusive and watch out for anything special.
Be prepared if you want a little extra!!!
