Beautiful, Clean, Amazing, Friendly 10/10

Absolutely amazing, beautiful and clean, food brilliant. Staff are amazing- speak good English which helps.
Housekeeping team we saw everyday were fantastic, spotted the different colour cloths for cleaning which I love, some hotels don’t do that.
Check-in was so fast and easy.
We transferred from crown paradise as we were so unhappy - family off 14 people. We normally stay at Riu palace but no space until Friday so we came here until we can go there. Nathan was so helpful,
Never been here before 10/10 for everything, the staff go that extra mile for you.
Can’t say a bad word about the place and I can always find something.
The white party was fab our son went over with my younger sisters and had a ball.
The amount of activities they do is brilliant.
Above and beyond!! 100%!!
Will definitely come again, think my mum is already looking on coming back in January.
Thank you to all the staff

Good & Bad

The hotel was great and we enjoyed our stay. The problem we had was my wife had an accident in the morning and banged her head whilst on her own, she was found by staff and put into bed without informing or trying to inform myself. she was found 4 hours later by myself in bed with a black eye and a plaster on a cut to her eye. this isn't right and the manager said this was there procedure. Joke!

An Amazing Holiday

I have just returned from a 10 night stay at the hotel as a couple and I could not fault the hotel at all.
We had a 9th floor room (993) which was accessed by the lift and then a flight of stairs. Our suitcases were taken up to our room for us. The room was big & had all the amenities you would need. This includes an iron, ironing board, safe, wardrobe with hangers, electrical outlets including USB ports. There were optics in the room including tequila, rum, vodka & gin. The mini bar had beer, water and soda and was restocked every other day. We had an issue with the sink in our room not draining and reported this via the app and it was resolved in less than an hour. Rooms are cleaned to a very high standard every day and I particularly enjoyed the towel animals left on the bed.
We never had an issue with the food at the hotel. The buffet restaurant had a wide range of selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I guess some of this could be repetitive however, thats pretty standard for an all inclusive resort. There are 4 a la carte restaurants to choose from & you don't have to make a booking meaning you can go as many times as you like. This gives you variety from the buffet restaurant. We went to the steakhouse, Mexican restaurant and the Asian restaurant. Out of the 3, the Asian was out favourite & we went back twice. The snack bars at the pool offer food throughout the day. You can get tacos, paella, burgers, hot dogs, fries, salad. Food is also available from the sports bar 24/7 (hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, nachos) but we didn't eat here.
The bars can get quite busy but the staff are great at serving people quicky. The air con in the sports bar is a life saver and they have a variety of sports on the many tvs in there. All bars offer a wide variety of branded alcohol & a wide range of cocktails. All bar menus can be accessed via the Riu app. Israel, the bartender with the drinks cart around the pool was amazing. Always serving everyone with a smile on his face.
The entertainment team were also brilliant - very friendly and enthusiastic. Many activities around the pool throughout the day which were entertaining to watch, even if you didn't want to join in.
The hotel is described in many reviews as a party hotel. The hotel hosted 4x Riu parties a week whilst we were there, 2 in the afternoon and 2 at night. If this is your kind of thing, the parties are amazing. However, if they aren't your thing, they shouldn't bother you. The parties are in a separate part of the hotel & the noise shouldn't be audible in the rooms (granted our room was very high up).
The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff worked constantly to ensure it stayed that way. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We got the bus from outside of the hotel a few times to go to the Cancun strip. The bus stop is over the road and the buses are every few minutes. They cost $1 or 12 pesos per person for each journey. The drivers are really helpful and will tell you where to get off if you ask them.
Overall, we had an amazing time at Riu Caribe and would not hesitate in returning.

Excellent Staff and Renovated Rooms, but the Food and Drinks Fell Short

We recently stayed at the Riu Caribe with family and wanted to leave an honest review. Overall, we had a good stay, primarily due to the truly amazing and attentive staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and provided excellent service, which we greatly appreciated.

Where we felt the experience could be improved was with the food and beverage offerings. While we understand the nature of all-inclusive dining, we found the food choices to be uninspired, even for this category of resort. The quality was not what we had hoped for. Similarly, the beverage selection was very limited, with only basic-level spirits and little variety.

This is honest feedback for the hotel's management. We would consider returning in the future if these areas were improved, as the staff and rooms were truly fantastic.

Riu Caribe - Great resort

3 nights at Riu Caribe was a great start to our holiday and we did not even know about the party scene there which took us by surprise and a good one at that.
The food @ the buffet place- Coral was exceptional and preferred over the other speciality restaurants. The breakfast was elaborate and well spread out.
I would go back in a heart beat. We had some great experiences and the one that stood out the most was Jeremias and Candelario who were brilliant in supporting all our queries and reassuring us of the best solution and availabilities.

Fun Girls' trip!

Here now! I'm completely blown away the hospitality at this hotel. Here for a girl's trip. The minute I stepped into the hotel. Hotel was very clean, smell fresh, and furniture was up-to date from the lobby to the guest room. Beds were comfortable, a/c unit worked well. Garden/landscape was well kept. No bugs issues in the room or around the hotel. Check in was flawless with a drink! Perfect location on the beach. I didnt get alot of locals bothering me to buy things. Everyone went out of their way to help you with a smile! The hotel size is more like a boutique compare to others that I have been to Mexico and I love it! Price was on point for this girl's trip.
They had everything we needed from night parties, shows, pool games, and even a blackjack tables set up in the evening. They don't have a casino here BUT the option for those who wanted something to do. Very well thought out RIU Caribe!
Pool is clean and there are always chair by the pool and beach. It is September, so it's off peak season. I'm not sure if its true during busy months. Buffet- always CLEAN, fresh, fully stocked, selection was great, had great kid-friendly food too!
Speciality resturants- Bartola from the asian restuant, took good care of us very well. Lilly, the bartender from the main lobby, she was always serving a drink with a smile! She was super quick too since evening time, the demand is high. Not many top shelf liquors available at this resort and don't bother with the house wines.

RiU made sure they had extra set of bartenders at every bar to meet the demand and extra waitress going around to pick up the finished glasses in the evening. Hard for me to catch everyone names here at this hotel because everyone here I encontered had been phenomenal. RIU Caribe had trained thir hospitality team very well. Most importantly, they show that they proud to be part of the RIU Caribe family!

RIUParty- Fun and great music with theme nights!
Renova spa is today- no turkish bath available, updates to follow!

Fabulous hotel

This hotel is just fantastic! We could not fault it all, from check in to check out, everything was just brilliant. Myself, my husband and 17 year old daughter had the best 2 week holiday whilst staying at the Riu Caribe.
We stayed in a twin double room on the 8th floor which was large, airy & spacious with an amazing sea view. Room cleaned daily to high standards and was very well appointed. Some may find the double beds on the small side, but I shared with my daughter and it was plenty big enough for us (and hubby was happy with a bed to himself!)
We found all the staff very friendly and welcoming – nothing seemed too much trouble for them. There is always someone cleaning something and as a result everywhere is spotlessly clean. Food was just fantastic, we really enjoyed it all. Although many of the same dishes did appear on nightly basis – there is so much choice that you still can end up having something different every night of a 2 week stay. We tried the steakhouse and Shangri-la a la carte restaurants (no booking required it’s just luck on whether there’s a table free or not). The Shangri-la was amazing and definitely our favourite meal of the holiday. It’s a buffet style restaurant, but everything cooked fresh and it’s just delicious. There’s an extensive range of drinks available – not all of the spirits are branded, but I was more than happy with the gin and the house rose wine and draught beer was very drinkable. There is also quite an extensive cocktail menu which you will need to access via scanning the QR code. Israel, who serves drinks round the pool from his cart is just a delight! He’s so bright and cheery and I looked forward to my afternoon Margarita being served with such a sunny smile.
The hotel does enforce a strict no under 18 drinking policy and anyone under the age of 18 gets a different coloured wrist band. As a result my 17 year daughter, who is a month off her 18th birthday was ā€˜tagged’ as a child! This also meant she was unable to attend the Riu parties and there was no sneaking her in because wristbands were checked!
For anyone who is concerned about the parties affecting their holiday – don’t be! The party zone is off to one side and you’d barely notice them going off.
The entertainment team work really hard – there’s always some activity going off during the day, but there’s no pressure to join in if you want to be lazy and just relax. There are evening shows 5 times a week – we enjoyed these and thought they were really good. Without a doubt the ā€˜Crazy Show’ by the entertainment team was the best, but the Silent Disco was very enjoyable too. All evening entertainment is in the indoor Calypso bar which is nicely air conditioned. The seating in the lobby bar is very comfortable, but can get pretty warm, so the Sports bar is a nice cool respite. It can get very busy in there though – especially when the evening shows or parties finish.
The pools are lovely and very well maintained – although they do feel on the warm side so for a cooler refreshing dip the sea is the best. The beach is just stunning – gorgeous powder soft white sand and the sea is beautifully clear. Some days are worse than others for seaweed – but even on the days when there is a lot of it washing up, there are guys out on the beach working tirelessly to clear it, so this is not an issue at all and do not be put off by it.
There is an onsite shop in the hotel and with most hotel shops things are more expensive – but they have a great range of lovely gifts & souvenirs.
We didn’t use the spa facilities – we did look at the treatments, but thought it was pretty expensive. Over Ā£100 for a deep tissue massage! Hubby used the gym everyday – it’s small but well equipped. And it was almost always empty when he went (late afternoon) so he had no problems with getting a decent work out.
All in all – everything was just fabulous and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. I certainly would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Its a nice place but not for relaxing anymore

I been here 2 years ago and the experience was amazing no complaints, however upon our most recent visit i got mixed feelings.
The food is still 10 stars, they kept that on top, the quality and the variation just amazing.
They refurbished the hotel not long ago and the rooms and facilities are beautiful and kept very tidy, however they've changed the 2 big pools outside into 3 small pools, ones a swim up bar thats always rampacked with drunks, ones for party activities hosted by the staff during daytime and ones for walleyball game so basically no pool to just chill and swim in, they could say theres the whole private see if you just wanna relax and swim but you dont always wanna get covered in sand and salt, not sure might be a me problem. Ive also noticed that the place got alot more noisy and busy compared to 2 years ago and we visited at the same time of the year, i understand that they've kinda turned the resort itno a party place since, however there's very loud music and noise going on all day around the pools not just in the afternoons, so yeah not a place to relax any more. They've also probihited smoking on the balconies since the refubushment which is understandable however the only designated smoking place is outide the lobby with no shade and nowhere to sit down so it really defeats the purpose of relaxing when youre constantly anxious of nicotine withdrawals, this may not affect everyone but i found it really odd of them to not allow smoking on the balcony, i havent experienced this ay any other hotel. My last complaint would be the drinks quality at the bars, theyre made as in there were free all watered down and rushed with but they're all pre paid so that was bothering me. The staff is very friendly and smiley, always happy to help so no complaints to that, however these little things made me give it an avarage as they are unnecessary inconveniences

Bad customer service and maintenance

After the renovations we were expecting to see a lot of improvements. Although, room was good, our lights went off multiple times. Then fan and air conditioner stop working in the middle of the night. We sent request to fix via app and it was fixed right away. No big deal, right? But then same thing happened again on following night, and again during the day. AC was down since 4 pm. Multiple requests to maintenance team did not get answered. One person come in and did not fix anything. Room temperature was raising quickly and with humidity inside it was better to be outside than in the room. Night before our departure we cannot sleep a all. Very disappointed and would not recommend for anyone to go there. And cherry šŸ’ in the top was diconnecred phone in the room so we cannot call customer service for anything. Americans are definitely not welcomed there. Stay away.

Amazing Holiday! Shots! Shots! Shots!

We are just back from a 2 week stay and had the best time!

Check in was quick and we were given an amazing room on the 9th floor room 937, stunning view and a lovely spacious room. Diego our room cleaner was amazing such a lovely boy.

The hotel is just stunning! Pool area was lovely with gorgeous views of the private beach. We chose to sit by the main activities pool which was nice. We tried to avoid the swim up bar pool as it was quite crowded and got a bit rowdy later on in the day! Drinks at the bar in that pool were much stronger than the other bars!

The speciality restaurants were nice we tried them all but preferred the Asia overall. They are all worth a visit and you don't have to book which is good.

Food in the main buffet restaurant was also good.

The RIU parties are fun. we went to the pink party and enjoyed it!

Plenty to eat and drink! Israel one of the bar tenders was amazing, he came round the pool area everyday with his drinks trolley and looked after everyone, always with a smile on his face. All of the staff were great, but he was really stand out and kept the mango tequila shots flowing!

The 16 strong entertainment team were amazing! Tony the fitness instructor was great and his aquagym was brilliant! There were so many activities throughout the day they all work so hard! We enjoyed the pineapple and coconut parties and the crazy game every afternoon was a laugh!

This hotel is very lively and the security staff do an amazing job of keeping a level of control.

We would definitely rebook this hotel it's just perfect! The location is great as all the parties are at this hotel, so no worries with transfers and all the boat trips puck up right outside the hotel.

Would recommend the catamaran trip across to the island, which we booked with the Scuba Caribe reps at the hotel! Well worth the money and a great day out!

It’s really really good

My first time in Mexico and I chose the best hotel.
The Riu Caribe Hotel was recommended to me by friends who had visited here for o Riu Party. I booked this hotel because my friends said they found it so incredibly brilliant. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I had never been to Mexico before but I was not disappointed. The hotel is really lovely and the staff who work here are so very sweet. I arrived late afternoon and was welcomed with a refreshing melon tasting drink which I found so pleasant after such a long journey and especially with how hot it was. My check in was really smooth and the gentleman who checked me in was helpful and also informative.
There was a lovely bar in the main lobby and Beto who served me my drinks was just adorable he was so friendly so kind and I was never kept waiting long to be served when he was on shift he always made my drinks exactly how I like them and he made me feel so comfortable during my stay. Beto was always busy but he always found the time to chat and make sure I was ok. He is an assert to this hotel and I do hope to see him again in the future.
The cleaning lady sorry I didn’t capture her name but she was always around in the lobby was just so very sweet I would give her a hug each day when I saw her and she was always working so hard making sure everything was so clean. The young lady who cleaned my room (177) was absolutely brilliant at her job in fact she cleaned my room the best I have ever seen a cleaner clean a room on holiday and she always made me cute little animals from towels which was such a thoughtful thing to do and made me smile when I returned to my room.
The main restaurant here is so very clean everything sparkles you could even eat your dinner off the floor it’s pristine clean and the waiters waitresses were amazing they really did work so hard and I cannot find anything to fault about them the food choices were outstanding and very tasty I was blown away with how much choice there was. I didn’t get to experience any of the other restaurants but what I did really like is that you can visit them as many times as you want and you don’t need to make a reservation hopefully next time I will get to eat in them. They did look very beautiful from the outside looking in.
The guest relations girl was always so very helpful and if you need to call back home for anything you are able to use the phone at her desk and it’s free of charge I found this to be such an amazing thing for guests to be able to do.
The outside areas pool and beach are kept so clean and everybody is so helpful and so lovely to you. The parties that happen here are out of this world I’ve never seen parties like that in my whole life absolutely incredible and I felt like I was touching the clouds on the rooftop terrace that experience will definitely stay with me. I didn’t come across any judgemental people here staff or tourists everyone just seemed like they were one big happy family I felt very very well liked after and safe. The managers spoke to me and they were always on hand if you needed to ask them anything and really wanted you to enjoy your holiday.
I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat and I will return how could you ever get tired of such amazing things going off. Thank you for giving me a brilliant first time experience in Mexico and I hope to see you all again in the future.
