Would do it again

The water, the view, the location a 10. The rooms are as pictured. They clean daily. It is clean in general. Stay away from the timeshare people at the hotel-just say no! All the restaurants were good except the Italian restaurant. I really appreciated the butler service it was worth it; we just called Yajahira and she set it up. the beach is so clean from human debris. There was sargasso but it really didn’t bother me. The pools are nice and clean. The view of the ocean from the pool is stunning at any time of day but amplified for sunrise and sunset. Just one hot tub by the family side pool. We didn’t use it at all. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the plunge pool in our room as well. It was cleaned while we were there. We also witnessed baby sea turtles newly hatched trying to make it to the ocean. We went parasailing which was not scary at all. I highly recommend this hotel and we are thinking of bringing the whole family next time.

Perfect weekend getaway with friends

I had an amazing time traveling with my friends. We stayed for four nights, and it was a blast! The check-in was a bit hectic, though. They tried to force us to attend a 90-minute meeting at a time-share, but we politely declined several times. We just wanted to get to our room and relax from the long day of travel. The room service wasn’t very clear to us. Apparently, we had to download an app and get a pin# to order food. But other than that, everything was fantastic! The food was delicious at all the restaurants, and the bar had top shelf alcohol. We even reserved beach beds at the ocean. The waitress or waiter would come out to the beach and take our drink and snack orders. Bring a Yeti cup, keeps your drinks cold at the pool and beach. The bartender will also fill up your Yeti (think they appreciate not wasting cups) Oh, and don’t forget to bring some extra tip money! The staff works hard and really appreciates it. We were lucky to have perfect weather and sunshine in October, even though they warned us that October is rainy weather. But don’t get caught up with the weather channel or you’ll think it’s going to storm all day and every day. Jessica was our service contact, and she helped us with our reservations, daily activities and all other questions. The only reservations you really need are for the hibachi restaurant, since there are only two hibachi tables that only seat 10 people. The adult pool bar was nice with a DJ most days. The family pool was also really nice, probably quieter than the adult pool…lol. My husband and I did the couples massage and we were very pleased with the experience. Very professional and one of the best massages we both have ever had (deep tissue). Overall, for the price, this place was truly fantastic!

The most amazing honeymoon!

Our trip was everything we could have hoped for and so much more. We were treated like royalty. Such a great experience and the views and food.
Yajahira was our butler and really gave us the royal treatment. She was there for our every request. Gilberto served our every need at the adult pool bar. Everyone was helpful and really awesome! We will refer this trio to everyone. We will be returning.

Think twice before booking.

Problems, problems and more problems! No accountability from the staff. No apology for inconvenience of having hot water for only 2 of 8 days, leaking water in rooms and restaurant, lack of smile, thank you or good morning/afternoon from staff. Sidewalks and paths were bad if you have balance issues.
On a positive note the grounds are nicely kept.

Great Resort!!!

This resort is fantastic! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Our butler Jessica is the absolute best and made sure that we had everything we needed, even checking on us multiple times throughout the day. Salvador was the best bartender! He kept the drinks coming whether we were on the beach or at the pool. Sara kept my room clean and even left towel animals. I 10/10 recommend massages on the beach! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Fantastic Experience!

What a wonderful experience my wife and I had at Grand Park Royal. The staff truly makes you feel special when you are on your vacation. Our butler Yajahira was fantastic and the bartenders at the adult pool were phenomenal. The waiting staff for each restaurant we dined at was also amazing.

We loved our room and we will definitely will be visiting again.

Yajahira is the best hostess!!

Yajahira was the most amazing host! So friendly and such a lovely person. Very reliable and booked every restaurant and answered every request! She made the holiday even more wonderful!! 100% will come again!

Overall very good

Pros

Very friendly staff. All the staff that we encountered at the hotel were very helpful, friendly and always warmly greeted us. Our room was always cleaned on time and fresh towels every day.

The pool area was always clean. Lots of chairs and umbrellas in the main pool area.
The music at the pool area was not overly loud where you had to shout at each other to have a conversation. The music they played was of a good variety.

The entertainment staff was good. The Funtastic team did their best for patron engagement in their activities.

The serving staff at the pool areas and in the restaurants/bars were very helpful. We did not use the adult pool at all.

Great view of the ocean and pool area from our room. We stayed in the main part of the hotel, not in the villas. The view from outside our door was of the Boulevard, the lagoon and downtown Cancun. Also a nice view.

The beach palapas were available and we used them a few times.

The hotel has a snack bar with various items like muffins, coffees, sandwiches and the ice cream was really good.

There is also a snack bar by the main pool that served burgers, hot dogs, tacos, pizza etc. it was really good and there was a small seating area to enjoy your lunch.

The food was good tasting but selection limited at times (see suggestions under cons). Although they had a couple of fiestas, buffet style, and the food selection was excellent.

The food at the Italian and Japanese restaurants was very good and you ordered off of a menu.

The beach and waves were really fun. There were a few times that the beach was closed due to the waves and undertow being so strong. A big shoutout to the lifeguards who had their work cut out for them in keeping vacation goers safe and trying to keep people out of the water when it was unsafe.

The lounge was really fun (especially due to the world series). Lots of seating but the seat cushions kept falling off.

Cons

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted at the door and the bellman took our luggage. We checked in. The concierge then proceeded to try to sell us a vacation club type package where you stay in the villas. I found this a bit offensive given that we had flown a long time, were tired and hungry and wanted to get settled in our room. The sales pitch would been at breakfast the next day for two hours. We declined.

Communication to guests is mostly by the hotel app which tells you when restaurants are open and closed and the nightly activity entertainment. You could only use the app for room service. I didn’t use the app as I didn’t want to download another app that I might use once a year.

The hotel activity board was located only by the adult pool but didn’t specify times or locations of the evening entertainment. It would be helpful to have more than one activity board.

The adult pool has no umbrellas and very little shaded area. The only shade is by using the rentable beach cabanas. We didn’t use it.

The food selection was limited especially the fruit which I found odd. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and the food selection was much better.

The Seafood/Mexican restaurant was a disappointment as there was only one seafood item on the menu. Also, the menu had limited Mexican dishes. We didn’t stay there for dinner and never went back. The other restaurants and buffet had many more Seafood/Mexican choices.

There was no toaster for breakfast, but also no sliced bread nor butter. Also, no bacon or sausage. Not a big deal.

Other
As with any vacation, there are some hotel guests who are unreasonable and entitled and who were rude to the staff that was totally unwarranted. The woman who wanted a new towel due to hers getting wet from a wet pool chair (it had rained the night before). Clearly she didn’t understand how towels work when put over something that is wet. They soak up water. Her rudeness was uncalled for and I wish I had said something. The towel person was very gracious and offered her more towels.

Another amazing vacation

This is my 5th visit to Grand Park Royal in Cancun and I find it the most relaxing and spacious property at a very affordable price. A very special shout out to Yajahira (our concierge) for making every visit so memorable. She treats us like family friends and our vacation just wouldn't be the same without her. Some other shout outs to Hector (28 years working at this property) for remembering us, his warm greeting with handling our arrival and departure is top notch. Also Isis and Ericka with the restaurants gave amazing service. Can't wait to go back for my 6th visit!! Thank you all!

Amazing vacation !

Hotel and service exceeded expectations. The waitstaff are top notch and the pool area servers kept the drinks flowing. The adult only area is stunning with the added advantage of having a walk up bar and juice bar. We never had any issues finding loungers and recommend to get the covered ones facing the ocean if you can. We used these almost every day. Very clean room with a gorgeous view of the pool and ocean. Special shoutout to the young lady and gentleman at the coffee shop!
