Unmissable Hotel.

This hotel gives you everything you could want from a 5 star hotel. The staff at this hotel are all marvellous and so so friendly. A shout out to Saul, Emilia and Airam in the Yukatan restaurant and a true star in Fernanda from
the entertainment team. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The hotel offers seven a la carte resteraunt over 3 hotels in the group. Transport provided by the endless golf buggies which are always available. The food is varied in the buffet and plentiful. Bars are all around and one is available until 6am should you desire. The rooms are very comfortable and we had stunning views to the front and rear. It's all too easy to wax lyrical about this place. There is so much on offer ,suffice to say return visit already booked!!

Why did Barrhead travel recommend us this hotel 😩

Just not for us no nice evening bar
Cocktails poor
Awful looking main restaurant
Don’t leave your table or it gets cleared away including cups and cutelery
Noisy air con in rooms
No air con in our only inside lobby sports bar
Tv so small in the sports bar
Beds bases in two rooms dirty bitten to death the first night in the room
We were moved
Two positives the al la carts apart from the Mexican all excellent
Best gym
Great staff everywhere
Secrets or Yukatan princess knock spots of this hotel but they are adults only
My partner has had a week off work with a tummy bug since our return he is been tested as I write this mine only lasted a few days and no it’s not the alcohol we had only two drinks a day a few photos for your info.

Great 3 Generation Trip!

We were a multi-generational trip of 10, with 5 kids and 5 adults between 5 and 64 years old.
We had (3) 2 bedroom units in building 22. Our building overlooked a pool and had great ocean views from the second floor. It was very convenient to the beach, kids water park and the food truck but quite a trek to the buffet.
The food truck was more than adequate for quick bite and included all the typical beach foods. The service was slow and it would be more efficient if they had premade food in quantity during the busy times

Service everywhere was great. Polite and hard working employees that made our vacation so memorable

The 2 bedroom units were a little weird. The second bedroom was actually a folding sofa. So if you have kids that use the sofa bed there is really no lounge area. Weirdly, the room would be plenty big enough for a bed AND sofa
The flooring and decking everywhere is crazy slippery and we saw a lot of falls
There were always fresh beach towels and we appreciated that few people reserved chairs and left them empty all day. We always found chairs at the pool and at the beach
Do NOT expect to EVER take out a catamaran. They flat out told us they never go out (felt like it’s false advertising to say they let you use them but they don’t. Ever). The water sports shed gave us all the “we don’t want to deal with you” vibe.
The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. The smaller pool could use a little love regarding grout

Guest relations

My first ever reveiw been here 5 times before across coba akumal and Tulum arrived tullum last week couple off days later about 18.30 bathroom pouring water in room contacted main desk within minutes guest relations guy Eduardo arrived got team to room moved us to superior suite got our wet clothes from bottom off closet bagged sent got dry cleaned after all this was sorted he heard my wife was diabetic so even though it was a typical mexican thunderstorm he ran up to get her some snacks this guy and his team went far and above what i ever received anywhere
I had a bump to the head and elbow but hey accidents happen every where the Bahía management team should know Eduardo was excellent otherwise this would have been a different reveiw

Wonderful experience at Gran Bahia Principe Tulum

We had two tours, Chichen Itza and the triple adventure, with Amstar. We particularly like to thank Karla Portillo, for her help in setting up the tours and going over and explaining the tours to us. We enjoyed the tours which were outstanding, meeting all of our expectations.

Also, the hotel itself was outstanding in every way. We have been to this hotel many times and compared it to others that we visited. Overall, I would have to rate Gran Bahia Tulum
as the best. The hotel management and staff are always very helpful to ensure that the guests get the best service. The food, the friendliness of the staff, the gym, the entertainment, are all exceptional making our vacation a success. Needless to say, we plan on returning to the resort in 2026.

Could have been a better experience, due to prior experience giving them a pass

Overall was a good trip. We had a problem with the water in our villa. I understand a broken pipe but there was no communication on what was happening until we asked. We had no water for hours and then the next day it happened again. When I went to the service desk, no one was working. There were people waiting in line and we were being told someone would be there shortly. Shortly never happened and most just left. I went to the check in desk and was told there was a water issue in our villa. Well, I KNEW that and was offered a downgrade. Hours later, a woman came to our door to try and help. I had been on the phone with my travel company trying to get an early flight out at this point. Eventually the problem was resolved after day 2. I've stayed at bahia principe resorts on 4 other occasions and never experienced anything like this so I'm giving them a pass on this one. Do better... you're employees are amazing, take better care of your customers

Average

Good value for an average Mexican all inclusive hotel. Lots of small improvements they can make to restaurant reservations, bar service ( more bartenders) etc but overall an average experience.

Amazing week

My family and friends went to the Bahia Principe Grand Tulum October 25 to November 1, 2025 for our daughter's sweet 15th birthday celebration. The resort and staff were amazing. Uriel was the coordinator of our event and he went above and beyond for our celebration/party. We booked the private outdoor venue beside the Tequila restaurant. We had a beautiful gazebo next to us and beach behind us. The food was great and our private waitstaff were attentive and kept our guests happy. The bar tenders kept the drinks flowing all night. JJ Studio did our photography shoot on the beach and at our party - those were more candid moments which turned out beautifully. The poses and locations Joel recommended were perfect and all our pictures came out flawless. They are very reasonably priced for the time, effort, and dedication you get. The rooms were cleaned everyday, we had fresh towels and linens. The room itself was great. The buffet had a mix of everything. The food and drinks were really qood. The swim up bar did make good drinks but the service was slow. The shows were great and entertaining. The resort itself is beautiful. Great greenery and the shuttle busses ran every 10 minutes. There was always staff ready and willing to help. Checking in and out was very easy and we booked our a la carts reservations via the app. Overall our group of 41 (including children under 12) had an amazing week at the Bahia Principe Grand Tulum. Definitely recommend for a family vacation.

Lovely hotel with beautiful beach

Great hotel. I would highly recommend this as a first time visitor to Mexico with family. We got a private transfer to the hotel, definitely recommend this as heard from other guests it took much longer with a shared transfer. The hotel was perfect for an all inclusive stay with a 4 year old. There are plenty of pools and the kids play area is lovely. The buffet food was really good quality and there was always something to enjoy. The food truck was nice for lunch or evening snack as a change to the Resturant. We didn't do any trips as our daughter is only 4 but enjoyed the pools and beach. Some of the reviews complained about seaweed on the beach. The beach was so beautiful. The sunrise is particularly special. I had a lovely time. Hotel staff are very friendly and the pool bar staff happy to help. Day time entertainment by the pool was great. Halloween was particularly amazing in the hotel, the decorations in the restaurant and staff dressed up. The next day was also day of the dead, again they had gone all out to decorate. It was a really fun 24 hours.

7 days at BP Tulum

Quickly becoming our favorite Bahia Resort. The staff is the best of all our previous resorts. And that's saying a lot since we have loved every place we've been. The Privilege Club is staffed by true professionals that saw to our every need. Highly recommend this All-Inclusive.
