We Don’t Want to Leave!

Such a lovely resort. I’m currently sitting on the very private patio watching the sun come up through the palm trees, listening to the waves crash, and sipping coffee. It’s our last full day and I want soak up every delightful moment.

SERVICE: Let’s all face it, stuff happens when you travel. How it’s handled makes ALL the difference. Johanna, Ricardo, Avril, Front desk manager (sorry I can’t remember her name) handled our issue in a timely and understanding manner. We have never experienced the kindness they showed alongside their professionalism.

FACILITIES: The lobby is modern and well appointed. Soaring ceilings and natural light create a welcoming entry to this little slice of the TROPICS. Our room was a ground floor swim-up ocean front (6105). Perfect view of the pool bar where most of the activities happen. Bed is like a cloud, loved the linens and huge pillows. Decor is pleasant, tropical with lovely tile in the bath area. Huge jacuzzi, separate shower, and wc, all behind glass. Frosted glass, but still glass.

POOL: surprisingly cool. Especially this time of year. Sparkling clean tile with early morning maintenance workers taking care of this respite from the heat. The activities team LuAnna and the amazing young man who lead the fun made our time so joyful.

POOL BAR: carina took care of us both by the pool and on the beach. She never allowed our drinks that Cumi and Ramon made so perfectly. It’s so nice when you don’t have to order, they just pour when you walk up.

FOOD: seaside Market has a good variety of items for breakfast (3x) and dinner (1x). They all looked fresh and delicious. The items I could eat (weird diet), were delicious. The build your own smoothie bar is pretty cool. We dined at Mi Casa Dorado last night. We all ordered different menu items and shared tastes because it was all so perfectly prepared and served. What an amazing meal! Klay Tlay tonight. Room service (1x) was fast, HOT and beautifully prepared and served.

ENTERTAINMENT: We are no longer people of the night., so I really can’t share much. The one singer we listened to in the courtyard was great and engaging.

GROUNDS:stunning tropical foliage that is well groomed. Lovely photo ops throughout the resort.

Great hotel with some improvements needed

We had a great holiday at TUI Blue El Dorado Seaside Suites. The highlights were the rooms and general facilities, the lovely staff, particularly Jorge in the personal concierge and the yoga instructor Andrea. We also enjoyed the vegan lunch restaurant Kaab.

The food was ok, but could have been better. We are both vegetarian: there were a few options in places but not a great deal of choice. Options were not always clearly labelled on menus and there was some cross contamination e.g. with the omelette station at breakfast I had meat in my omelette from someone else’s dish. Kaab was lovely but was only open twice per week. The dinner buffet and Culinarium were not particularly good.

The beach was very nice but there were lots of people trying to sell hats, cigarettes and one man who’d shout at us every time we walked past. As it’s a private beach I would expect the hotel to do more to keep people away.

We can’t wait to go back!

Our first time in Mexico and we’re already planning our return to El Dorado!

This was our first trip to Mexico, and El Dorado really set the bar high. We can’t wait to book again soon.

I’ll admit, I’m someone who really values the look and feel of a resort, especially the rooms. At first, I was surprised — the lobby and grounds are beautifully modern, but the rooms do feel a little dated in comparison. That said, this honestly didn’t matter in the end because everything else about the resort more than made up for it.

As a picky eater (and someone who avoids most meats), I was impressed by the variety of food on offer. Normally at all-inclusives I struggle, but here I ate well every day and never felt limited. The vegetarian/vegan labelling could be clearer, though, so it’s worth double-checking or asking staff. The vegan restaurant was a great addition, though its opening hours were limited. One note: there can be some cross-contamination with utensils between veggie and meat dishes, so keep that in mind if it’s important to you. Still, there was always something tasty to enjoy.

Tip: Try as many restaurants as you can. The app’s opening times aren’t always correct, so check with reception to plan ahead. My personal highlights were the Gourmet Pub (a really good à la carte), the Seaside Market for a relaxed buffet breakfast, and the Asian restaurant — flavourful but slightly limited for someone who doesn’t eat much meat or fish. A must is the Mezcalito tequila bar. I don’t usually drink tequila, but the cocktails were excellent and the cosy vibe made it one of my favourite spots.

The beach itself is quite small and can feel crowded, with loungers taking up a lot of space even when the hotel isn’t busy. This didn’t affect me much, but it does seem unnecessary. In September, there was also a fair amount of seaweed, though staff worked tirelessly throughout the day to clear it, which I really appreciated.

Most of our days were spent at the Relax Pool, which lived up to its name — peaceful, lined with Bali beds, and with its own bar. We didn’t try the other pools, but this one was perfect for unwinding.

The service is another standout. Every staff member greets you warmly with a smile and a friendly “hola.” Both the rooms and grounds are kept spotless and well-maintained, which really added to the overall experience.

For breakfast, I’d recommend the Seaside Market over the beachside buffet (Arrecifes, I believe), as it had a better atmosphere and selection.

Overall, El Dorado gave us a wonderful first taste of Mexico. A few small things could be improved, but the warmth of the staff, the food options, and the beautiful setting made it a trip we’ll always remember.

First class hotel and we loved every moment..

What an exceptional stay we had.
My first time in Mexico and it won't be our last.
The entire hotel, the staff, our room, bathroom, the beautiful gardens, the little details, (the towel animals on the beds) the mini bar, the fresh towels, the animals on the resort, I can't express how much we loved our 10 day stay with you. We loved the variety of the different restaurants and themes and the many different bars, all exceptional. Quick mention also for the incredible spa in the hotel. Absolutely first class and a massage on the beach to die for....
One thing I will mention was that the evening entertainment was a little poor but that's my only fault on our trip. I will say the daytime programme was great. We loved Louis and the great programmes throughout the day. The TUI team in the hotel Andrea & Marcelo were fabulous and went above and beyond to guide, advise on so many things. I love the swap box idea as well :)
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough and we will definitely be returning...

THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

WE CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH!!! We just got back from our honeymoon, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our experience was once in a lifetime. There was not one staff member that we met that wasn’t nice and didn’t do more than the bare minimum. They handled our bags from the moment we got there and brought them to the front when we left. They provided the best room service, conversations, and entertainment. The concierge was always so helpful and all the drivers and food service workers were wonderful. Seriously, we can’t recommend this place enough! 20/10!!!

Solo birthday trip was fantastic

This place is a hidden gem I had such a fantastic relaxing birthday trip as a solo traveler this past weekend! Everyone I encountered was so kind, the staff was wonderful, and the property itself was absolutely stunning. My room was incredible. I loved being able to step right out into the swim-out pool! A special thank you to all the amazing guests I met at the bars who made me feel so welcomed and included. I did the Maroma beach/snorkel excursion. And got special birthday touches.

Jungle paradise

This was my 3rd visit to a TUI blu in a year and based on service from last two I knew the standards that I expected to receive.

However this was a different level from other two, grounds perfect, staff so friendly, facilities top notch and let’s not forget the food, woah so much choice and never had one bad bit of food.

Before I came out I heard moans of not getting a la carte booking, I was there for a fortnight and in both weeks easily got both a la carte. However you don’t need a la carte, Mexican, Mediterranean, Gourmet, Seaside market all available to walk into, in some cases they would give you a buzzer and say 20 mins, with each having a bar close by to get a drink while you wait.

If a little unsure, there is two areas with resort, seaside suites - this is where most of the Americans stay, if you are from the uk, you will be in the palms side. The palms side is easily the best, where main bar is, where most restaurants are, where you will get selection of pools and sea where the best beach is.

When we arrived we were given top floor 3728, which was 5 minute walk from main bar, when checking in we were offered an upgrade of a cost of $700, we decided that we could get a cheap week in med for that. However on that evening talking with other guests it was suggested that you can negotiate that price, if known maybe we would have changed room, however our room was amazing and the AC was super cool in the room. Free mini bar 8 beers, 6 cans of soft drinks, 2 packs of crisps.

I the palms side there is 5 pools, 2 are near the swim up rooms, 1 is for premium stayers only and 1 with Bali beds around the rectangular pool, but need to walk 2 mins to bar.

The other was the entertainment pool where music played from 10am and you had the delight of Jose and Luis entertaining you each day.

Every day we did water Aerobics, which was so much fun and highlight of any day was opportunity to play water polo. Oh my we had so many great games, that no matter what the score was at the end, we all ended with shots at the bar.

I could go on and on, about the place but don’t want to spoil it all for your experience. Believe me this hotel is amazing, there is entertainment on every night at the bar. They do Mexican nights, fire shows, tequila tasting, silent disco, foam parties. Ps don’t forget karaoke nights, best night of the week.

I did two excursions, chicken itza which is a must see, it’s long to get there and back, however so much history to see. Cenote was incredible.

I also took a trip to the Tulum Brewery, this was booked with TUI but they don’t really promote it, it was incredible experience and you get to make your own beer and take home with you.

My only negative and this is a me thing, was the beer on site. The xx dos, Texata, Sol and coors light were all poor and light tasting.

The dark beer in the bottle was lovely but only known on final week. With the high standards of the hotel, it would be nice to have some really great beers from Mexico, available or having the option to buy would be an improvement. Just a personal thing.

However keep up the good work, we are already looking to come back, so hope to see you all soon.

Beautiful Beach, But Everything Else Fell Flat

TLDR
Stunning beach at Palms side and attentive housekeeping, but poor food safety, watered-down drinks, geriatric atmosphere, and inconvenient logistics made this a disappointing stay.

Resort
The property is large, divided between the Palms and Suites, with a nudist section in the middle (kept separate). Golf carts are meant to circulate every 20 minutes, but I often missed them and had to walk long distances. The overall atmosphere was quiet and dated, with most guests over 50. The main lobby was dark and played classical music, creating more of a somber than welcoming environment.

Room
Housekeeping service was excellent and my maid took great care. The room design appeared modern at first, but mildew around the AC and fan showed its age. The mini fridge never cooled properly, leaving drinks lukewarm. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was outstanding, with double sinks, a rain shower, and a soaking tub.

Food
Food was the weakest part of the stay. I became ill after eating beef carpaccio at the Italian restaurant, though it may also have been from seafood at Driftwood. Food safety for raw dishes needs urgent attention. The buffet was small, with a very poor fruit selection. This was surprising in Mexico, where mangos and guavas should be plentiful. Pork in red sauce was unpleasant, and guacamole was nowhere to be found, even at Mexican night. Many restaurants, apart from the Pub, were hot and stuffy. Overall, food was extremely disappointing.

Drinks
Drinks were low quality across the resort. Most were made with syrups and mixes rather than fresh fruit, and they were clearly watered down. Drink menus were difficult to find, making ordering frustrating. The only bar with some atmosphere was the mezcal lobby bar, but even there they used bottom-tier mezcal with no variety for guests to sample. Bars also appeared understaffed, leading to long waits.

Beach
The beach was the highlight. Despite seaweed season, the Palms side was clear and beautiful. I saw schools of tropical fish, spiny lobsters, and coral during my morning swims. I recommend going out early (8–9 am) and swimming past the wooden stakes toward the buoy for the best experience. It is a long walk from the Suites side—nearly 1 km.

Overall
While the beach and housekeeping stood out, the poor food and drink quality, dated resort atmosphere, and transportation issues far outweighed the positives. I would not return and cannot recommend this resort, especially for younger people.

We were in room 6210 from Sept 26th- October 3rd. The room was Massive & super clean, Luiza was great when we asked her for room cleaning.

We never felt sketched out or felt like we had to keep looking back at anybody

Every single person that worked at the resort were friendly and had smiles on their faces. Ricardo R. Was one of our regular server at the restaurants we went to and he was really helpful, very nice & took care of us very well! I wish I memorized everybody’s names because they were all great.
I am already planning on coming back again with more people!

Beautiful Resort. Highly Recommend it!

Beautiful resort, Great food, suites were very spacious and clean. The swim up pool bar was nice and convenient and balconies with view of the palm trees and ocean were perfect.

We had a swim up ocean front room, perfect hotel for our anniversary. Great views and it felt like a lovely oasis of luxury. Pool activities usually finished by 7pm so it was quiet in the evenings by our room.

Golf buggies ferry you from one side of the resort to the other. It is walkable but you'll sweat a lot.

Food and drink, Great choices all over the resort. Buffet for breakfast and dinner was excellent. On the nights we didn’t feel like venturing out, room service did us very proud.

One big recommendation is to take mozzie repellent, they were really bad on our stay Sept 2025.

Ok but not really five star

Hi I try and be as honest and open I can with my reviews. They are written not to put people off or have a moan. Firstly I would say cleanness is 101% and the cleaning team do an excellent job. So me and my wife booked this last minute and got it half price so around £1800 for both for a week. But I would definitely not pay any more like the original £3600 as I feel the hotel it’s self is just ok and would say a 4 star a best. Food offering is not that great. Couple of specialty restaurants but one they want a $25 per person cover fee. A lot of the time many of them are closed as the hotel is not running at full capacity. Buffet restaurants are nothing special food like warm and mainly the same. Best one I would say if the gourmet pub. The Piccadilly bat is like a youth club poor decor and staff don’t really want to serve you. Pool areas are good sun beds comfy but not the usual sun bed dash although you need to get one by around 0800 if you want a nice quiet one. But like I say hotel is not full so not really any issues. Rooms are big AC works great but could just do with bringing up to date but on the whole very clean and tidy. Personally I would say if you get a good deal on the holiday then go but otherwise look somewhere else. Most of the staff are friendly and professional. But you will be required to tip for most things. Although we only tipped when we got great service. But the Americans tend to tip so generally get served first. Drink choice is ok mainly canned beer most sprits and good soft drinks.
Like I say I’m trying to be open and honest so no reflection on the staff but definitely not 5star. But I’m sure you will enjoy your stay. Oh one last thing transfer time can be quite long.

The best ever activity team, luis, Jose and Maria.

The one thing that keeps me coming back is how the activity team at palms side, luis, Jose and Maria include my son with additional needs in all the activities. They are just 3 fantastic people who I have told their line manager Didier about. Activities are sports, crafts, and local customs, from 11am onwards my son has an action packed day. One down side is Tui. Guests have to now pay for Asian restaurant. The hotel arranged the same room 2 years running for myself and son so that he was familiar with room, area and put an extra bed in the room. Staff are so friendly and the gardens and walk ways so green. The resort is kept immaculate and clean.

Loved this resort and wanted to share my suggestions

Had an incredible time at El Dorado Seaside suites. We took a cocktail class and a tequila tasting class. The teacher Jesus and another guy that I don't remember his name but he was super funny we're teaching and entertaining. I highly recommend the tequila tasting class.bJesus was awesome and i highly reconvene the silent party. I only have one complaint. I thought it was strange that they closed the ocean. I think Palms was closed at 7:00 p.m. and seaside was closed at 6:00 p.m. but I can't remember for sure but I just thought that was very strange. That was my only complaint. And I would give out several suggestions.

1., bring everything you think you might need. If you need to buy anything at the store at the hotel it is very overpriced.

2 I would recommend bug spray for sure. You can buy it at the hotel but it's $20 for a tiny bottle. My son forgot his flip-flops and had to pay $65 for a pair of very poorly made sandals. I paid $7 for a lighter. I totally get it but had I known I would have made danger I had every single thing I could think of.
3. You will notice that there is almost never anybody on the seaside side of the ocean. If you walk out to the Far Side along the rocky side it is a wonderful place to snorkel. Don't let the lack of people deter you. All around the Rocks is full of fish different kinds shapes and sizes and the water is so warm and lovely. We even swam out past the rocky break to the other side to look at fish along the other side. If you like snorkeling don't miss that. You may notice a man on the edge staying there the whole time watching you but he is there for your protection.
3. During my stay the seaside was the most active place during the day but shut down early. I think the main pool closed at 6:00 or 7:00. If you like to stay up later it seems like the Palm side is usually more active at night. Lots of entertainment.

I Highly recommend this resort and I will definitely go back.

Sexy Luana

We’re coming to the end of our holiday here at El Dorado seaside suites .
The rooms are fantastic, large and spacious. Swim out suites on the ground floor with direct access to the swim up bar are the ones to go for . The food could be better, the Italian is far the best restaurant.
For what we payed, this hotel is certainly value for money.
The entertainment at the swim up bar is fantastic. LUANA is a credit to the hotel.
We’ve been to Mexico many times and Luana is easy the best at getting people to have a great time .

Great staff let down by poor organisation

Firstly the best bit was all the staff who without exception worked incredibly hard. The gardeners keep the mature grounds immaculate: sweeping, trimming vegetation and removing coconuts so that there is not a “bombing raid” when the wind gets up or the banded raccoons have climbed up the palms and chewed the nuts loose. We stayed in Palms side which is definitely best for activities led by sexy Luis and his team that made everything fun. The restaurant organisers- Vanessa, Sheila, Ricardo, Franco and Julian could not have been more helpful trying to find dishes that did not contain Lactose for me and once even entering the closed Vegan restaurant to get their ice cream.
Theoretically TUI blue specialises in catering for various dietary requirements but the outdoor vegan restaurant was only open 4 lunchtimes this October. Unless you had booked into a specialist restaurant days in advance there was a severe shortage of evening restaurants and regular visitors told me that this was not normal in previous years. We had to wait for 50 mins for a table in the Gourmet pub, 40 mins in Culinarium (friends waited 1hr 40 mins on the same evening!) and even 15 mins at the Seaside Market self- service buffet. This Management economising decision caused many grumbles among guests. The dish labels and menu sheets were frequently labelled wrongly about the ingredients of the dishes even when you could read the orange print, on cream paper, in the subdued lighting of the restaurants. The chef in Culinarium hadn’t been told which sweets contained dairy and no evening restaurant stocked the vegan ice cream so for 2 weeks all I was offered for sweet at any restaurant, including the bookable ones, was dry “chocolate” cake or stewed apple. That is not what would be expected at a 5 star resort.
The room in block 35 was spacious and the bed was really comfortable but unlike at every other resort I have visited, the air conditioner only cooled the room and did not dehumidify. Consequently all our clothes became damp and hung- up swim clothes didn’t dry at all. I guess that is why they have to offer a change of towels every day. The room was showing its age and lack of maintenance in that both sink plugs were not functioning, nor the illuminated vanity mirror. Water leaked from the base of the hot tap when the cold tap was turned on. The PIR light for the toilet didn’t switch off and some of the buttons for the safe didn’t connect reliably. The jacuzzi plug wasn’t the right one so the water leaked away then jets sprayed everywhere when you stood up. The engineer had to come and mend the jacuzzi pump because it wasn’t working. A coincidence to find all of these faults in one room?!!
The site map is confusing/misleading with items mislocated, misnamed or omitted while the information on the TUI app about which restaurants are open was sometimes not up to date. New visitors wander about dazed.and the poor TUI reps are besieged. TUI needs to sort out this hotel management.

Foam Party!!!!! 🥳 🎉

Always love coming to this resort! I’ve been coming to this resort for about 10- 15 times. The staff is amazing and always willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy! The activity staff including Luis, Jose, Carlos, Maria, Ixchell and Benjamin made our trip better than we could’ve ever imagined—-they were SO MUCH FUN!! Can’t wait to come back in one month again :)
And one of the wonderful things about seaside suites is the foam party, is so much fun, you should have a try and normally is on Saturdays. Mike as DJ is great

The sweet life at seaside suites

One of our favorite resorts to visit in the riviera maya area! We love the romantic feel as the resort is on the smaller side compared to some of their sister resorts but we love the intimate feel! The staff is so kind, happy to help and feels like family! Anselmo was one of my favorite waiters and each day we got him serving us at breakfast or lunch was always extra special! The spa is one of our favorites and we always enjoy the hydrotherapy. We are members so we also enjoyed our butler Carlos and our other butler Edith! They had all of our dinners and special activities scheduled and taken care of as well as daily breakfast requests. We also really enjoy the daily resort activities and staff Luana and Benjamin were so much fun and such a joy to experience each day! Typically there’s more activities/events and even they bring in vendors to shop from one of the days of the week in the evening but that didn’t happen this trip… Maybe because a lot of the nights it was stormy but that’s no one’s fault besides Mother Nature! All in all, a really great time! The tortellini at Mia Casa is one of my favorites and you can’t go wrong with the sushi or orange chicken at KlayTalaay! My only complaint the whole trip was the main pool at seaside suites bartender Carlos David. For some reason he continually had an attitude. Not sure if it was at me or other guests … or that the guests were intermingling making friends and ordering shots -- either way … I was not impressed with pool bar boy Carlos David as he was rude multiple times on multiple occasions and even at one point asked me to stop speaking Spanish and just speak English — which I found to be extremely rude considering everyone else on the resort was impressed with my Spanish, and complimented me many times how nice it was someone coming in and being able to speak their language so maybe Carlos David was having a bad day or two — but that’s where he should learn that we choose our job. If he’s not happy serving the public, go pick up trash or work in the back somewhere where you don’t have to speak to or deal with guests but that’s just my advice as a girl that’s waitressed 15 years myself 🤷🏽‍♀️😵‍💫🫣🥰

Not up to expectations

Having spent 2 weeks here and sampling all its delights I can honestly say we had a nice holiday, however our expectations were probably set a bit higher than nice and we were left feeling a little let down.

For a start we came to celebrate a big birthday which was mentioned on the booking form, but the hotel did nothing to mark this except to say happy birthday when we checked in. On arrival we were also asked if we wanted to upgrade our room at a considerable cost before we had even seen our room- which suggested they new it wasn’t exactly 5*! To be fair the room was comfortable and clean although a bit tired and dark.

There seems to be a two tier system operating on the beach where members get sunbeds mattresses and huge amounts of space, but everyone else is crammed in on tired and uncomfortable sunbeds.

The food also is pretty hit and miss, omelettes at breakfast are good, coffee served at breakfast is so weak we had to ask for one to be made at the bar, which most waiters kindly obliged us with.

The Italian restaurant provides really decent food providing you order right, the steak was first class. Also a special mention for Angela and Jordi who were very hospitable.

The Vegan restaurant was great but only open at lunch which was a shame as they took pride in their food there. Another special shout out to Julian who served us there who was very charming.

Generally the staff are very friendly and helpful, Andrea the yoga teacher is lovely, as is Luis.
But then again on the flip side we would like to give a not so special mention to Alejandro the main concierge, who was charmless and responded more often than not with Computer says no and even failed to make our booking at the Italian despite having assured us he had. There was us thinking that that the role of a concierge was to help and facilitate……

Our room was cleaned daily, but three or four times we had to call up about missing towels, which were taken and not replaced- again, something you wouldn’t really expect in a 5*. The towels had seen better days too and could do with replacing, as could the yoga mats which were in a very sorry state!

The Tui staff Marcelo and Andrea go out of their way to help, thank you to them. The trip to Playa del Carmen is offered for $1, but please note we now know why - hard sale of expensive jewellery and Tequila which was quite an unpleasant experience and left us feeling uncomfortable.

I can’t submit this review without mentioning that on three occasions we witnessed coconuts falling onto the paths. Some effort was being made to keep them pruned but possibly not enough. Guests seemed to joke about it, but I have no doubt that being hit by one would be no laughing matter.

All in all we had a good time but don’t expect premium 5* unless you pay a premium!

Loved this place

Travelled here with my wife for her birthday and I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed are time here. After a 10 hr flight with Tui and a chaotic Cancun airport then a 2 hr coach transfer to arrive here was bliss. Check in was a bit slow but we were staying close to reception so dropped our luggage off, freshened up and headed out and it was silent disco close by. We had a few drinks and good laugh then back to the room which was a "luxury junior suite" and as stated in previous reviews rooms are dated and nothing like the photo on TUI website. But it had all we needed king bed, jacuzzi and well stocked fridge. We found the restaurants to be very good just be sure book through the concierge as soon as possible, our favourite was Mia Casa. The Gourmet Pub is good, you just turn up and they give you a beeper for when a table is free. We found the drinks good quality premium brands and the Mezcal bar does the best cocktails. The beach was good and for the most part seaweed free and there a big bar and plaza with assorted fast foods close by. All the staff member we were lucky enough to meet especiaaly Sergio from Mia Casa
were 1st class from cleaning staff to waiters. We went over to "infinty side" for the foam party and I think that,s were the American,s stay so it,s loud over there with the pool games, but there is a place called "Driftwood" over there and it does delicious food.
We will return to this hotel as we enjoyed it so much, but get a private transfer next time. PS take Mosquito spray and plug ins.
