Great weekend getaway!

Just finished an amazing long weekend at Dreams Vista and only have positive things to say. From day one, we were met with fun, positive, smiling faces. Maria made check in seamless, and fun at the same time!

We mostly hung by the pool, because the ocean water had a bit of kelp during this time of year. Christopher was poolside and kept our drinks full, and kept us hydrated the entire trip!! 😎

The highlight of the resort for me was Enrique and Daniel at the Bar in the plaza! They knew my name and sang “Deannaaaaaa!” Every time I walked by. They were such kind, fun, and lighthearted souls! They also make a mean Bahama Mama 😏

My food favorites was the sushi in the plaza and Portofino. I wish we had more time to try out the other restaurants, but their hours made that difficult.

Other notables: the Halloween costume contest, fire show, and Desires club were fun! Our room was serviced everyday, and so cozy!! All in all, a great trip!

Moderate to high

Enrique at the pool bar was great. The aerobics and game people had good energy. I would put another sushi chef at station, waited pretty long time. Also, the moss by the hammocks was a little to much, raking that out could’ve added a better experience. Overall thanks though!

Great Option for All-Inclusive Resort

Had a great time on our Wednesday to Sunday trip. Really appreciated the service/staff and amenities. Service at all levels was great. Spa services were good. Hibachi chef did a great job. Really liked the lobby bar bartenders and the la plaza bartenders (Enrique, Daniel & Cesar). They remembered our names and were super engaging throughout the duration of our stay. I liked the late night sports bar/disco and the nightly shows, especially the fire show. Really liked my room/balcony as well and the late night room service.

Modern resort, great food, top tier service!

We just got back from a 5 day stay and wanted to share about our experience at Dreams Vista! Overall I would rate this resort a 4.5/5 🌟

Food/Drinks:
- The a la carte restaurants overall were delicious and had great menus. My favourites were Bluewater (the short rib!!!) and Himitsu. I was very excited for Vista and did not enjoy it at all. The service was very slow and the food came out so cold. We didn’t try the Mexican. Easy to make reservations on the app 1-2 days in advance. Reservations are encouraged for a la cartes but you can also walk in, though you might wait a while.
- The buffet overall was alright, it was fairly small and seemed to have similar items every day. Some days certain items were delicious and the next not so great. I would say it’s good for breakfast/lunch but I would suggest the a la cartes for dinner.
- Both breakfast and lunch at Bluewater were very good, highly recommend!
- Loved La Plaza for lunch as it gave good variety, with fresh tacos and sushi, and a grill section. Sushi was slow but it’s because they make every roll fresh to order.
- The drinks overall were very good and a good amount of alcohol! The fresh juice used in the drinks was incredible. I loved the mango margarita and mango mimosa best. I will say that the drinks in the preferred lounge were way better compared to the drinks in the lobby bar.
- Cocos was a nice bonus and had dairy free milks to make all of their drinks! They also had regular cookies/donuts/muffins, and gluten free treats as well.
- Part of why I booked is because I heard Dreams is good for gluten and dairy free. I will say that typically they had good options, though sometimes inconsistent (ie with gluten free bread, etc). Always check with the waiter about what is gluten and dairy free though, because the menu was definitely incorrect with some items.
- Room service is open all times a day, which is a great bonus!
- Teppenyaki is not included and is an extra price. This was a bit disappointing because when we booked, it was included in the all inclusive price.

Room:
- We had the preferred club ocean view room with a hot tub. Note that the hot tub is just a jacuzzi tub inside of the room. This was a slight disappointment, as when we turned the jets on there was debris coming out of the jets. We tried a few times and then just gave up on using it. They did offer to switch our room but we were already settled.
- Otherwise the room was absolutely beautiful! Huge shower and bathroom area, living area with couch, big closet, bed was comfortable. Because of where our room was located we did have bars on our balcony but most rooms didn’t. I can imagine every room has a beautiful view!
- Great water pressure and heat in the shower!!! Also good AC. Room came with a blow drier, steamer, and lots of amenities (toothbrush and paste, even a razor).
- I would recommend to not upgrade to the hot tub or swim out options, as neither looked great. All of the rooms seemed to be similar layout and beautiful, so I don’t think an upgrade is necessary.
- Nice touches to the room; we were celebrating our anniversary and my birthday so they put banners on the door and a bottle of sparkling wine out. We got a small bottle of tequila, pringles, and m&ms. They even give you a beach tote! Lots of soft drinks and beer in the mini fridge.

Resort:
- We were hesitant because everything is essentially in one location in this resort, but it still felt really big and we feel we didn’t even get to explore every spot there! So if you’re worried about it feeling small, it’s definitely not.
- The views from everywhere are so beautiful, especially the rooftop!
- It’s a very clean resort, you can tell it’s newer. Also very modern style!

Pools/Beach:
- We spent a lot of our time in the main long pool, which was beautiful and never felt too busy. It was a bit cold but we didn’t mind with the heat from the sun! Bar tenders were also great here and came around very frequently. Lots of loungers available, sun and shade. I will mention that the sun goes behind the hotel at around 4:30/5 and then it gets a bit windy/cold in this pool.
- The preferred club rooftop pool was beautiful as well and overlooked the ocean. Never too busy and the drink service here was also excellent.
- If you’re a beach person, I wouldn’t recommend this resort. There is a beach section and it looked like many were enjoying it, however the seaweed was a problem (they did their best though!!), it was a bit rocky, and it is quite a small beach area. We didn’t mind because the pools were so great!

Activities:
- We didn’t do too many activities but we did see there were non motorized beach activities, volleyball, aerobics, nightly shows, and tons for kids! I also saw wine tasting and tequila tasting but again, we didn’t take part. It did seem like there was something for everyone!
- The surf area was a very cool touch, for both kids and adults!

Preferred:
- I would 100% recommend preferred, especially if you are not travelling with children. The rooftop pool was beautiful, the additional Bluewater restaurant, the preferred lounge (we watched lots of baseball here and the drinks were always great! They also have food if you need a snack), the preferred check in… Definitely all perks! We also enjoyed the top shelf liquor options.

Weather:
- The weather was great when we were there, sunny and warm and barely any rain. It did get a bit cloudy some days which made it a bit cooler, but no complaints.
- I know the wind is a big topic of conversation, and we were a bit worried! It did get windy in the main pool at around 4:30/5 which made it cooler. There were also some common areas that got quite windy… But it really didn’t bother us, the breeze was welcomed! Don’t let it deter you from booking.

Service/Tipping:
- The service was incredible, maybe best I’ve had at an all inclusive. Very attentive, going the extra mile, and making sure you don’t need to worry about anything.
- We did tip in Mexican pesos (as Canadians, it didn’t make sense to bring American dollars, but they seemed to happily accept both). For five days, I would suggest around $200 Canadian. The staff work very hard and deserve some extra love! But they never seemed to push for tips or expect them, the service was good always.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Dreams Vista and would love to check out more Dreams or Secrets resorts ❤️

Perfect Last Minute Getaway!

Flew my husband out for 3 nights as a surprise to celebrate his 35th birthday. He had no idea where we were headed so the anticipation was on! Our stay was Saturday 10/25/25 through Tuesday 10/28/25.

We scored a great deal on a preferred ocean view room. We arrived at the hotel Saturday morning around 10:45am. We were promptly greeted and escorted to the preferred lounge for check-in. Hubby was surprised and enjoyed the exclusivity. The lounge has a small selection of food items that changes throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) along with a premium bar. There is a quaint sitting area and 4-5 tables with chairs. The staff was very kind and did what they could to make us comfortable for our 4-hour wait as the room would not be ready until 3pm (standard check-in time).

About 20 minutes in, a VIP aka TimeShare agent approached our table and took a seat. He started off as if he was helping us with the check-in process. I knew immediately what it was, but I didn’t say anything to my husband. It took him a little longer to catch on but we eventually did. The VIP agent offered some really enticing incentives in exchange for a 90 minute presentation but we declined. We had to decline 4 to 5 times before he left, which was the worst part of our trip. Out of a three night stay, we were approached twice about a timeshare and they were very persistent. The second agent approached us on the second day and already knew about my husband declining upstairs as he made mention of it. It felt kind of weird, I understand business so I wasn’t too surprised. However, those timeshare interactions are the only thing that makes me think twice about returning. Our room was two levels below the rooftop on the 15th floor. The room was gorgeous, but cleaning left some things to be desired. I wasn’t really tripping as I know that house keeping has a very limited amount of time to turn over several rooms. The only thing terrible was the hairball on our bottle opener at the mini bar area. That was pretty gross, but we moved it to the side and disinfected the room. FYI, I do this at every hotel stay. The whole process takes only about 10 minutes.

I’m not sure if this is included in every room, but we did get a fully stocked mini bar along with a Nespresso machine. The mini bar had sodas, waters, and beer. It also included a bottle of tequila. We only use the sodas , waters, and coffee and the mini bar was restocked once during our stay. With the preferred option, we did get access to the rooftop bar, which we were told that all of the preferred bars have premium drinks. We also had access to a rooftop pool. The pool is small and on our first day, there were no chairs available but if you come pretty early in the day when they open, you can enjoy an immaculate view from the rooftop. The pool overlooks the ocean and Cancun city and it’s beautiful. Some other pluses were the customer service from the waiters, restaurants hostesses, bellhops, and house keeping. They were all amazing! We ordered room service one morning and the breakfast was delicious. We gave a pretty decent tip and asked for another Nespresso coffee pod but he never returned. That was a bit of a bummer. Overall, this day was really nice. The food was good to really good. Every restaurant is worth trying, and the pistachio ice cream was so good. The only thing, I didn’t read the dress code and some restaurants, requires men to wear pants indoors or you have to sit outside. This was no big deal for me, but my husband likes air condition. There was no issue at the Japanese restaurant, but we had to sit on the patio at the Mediterranean restaurant, and the view was gorgeous. For the buffet, you can wear pool attire, but it cannot be wet. It’s best to go to the buffet before you get in the pool because if your swimwear looks a little wet, you won’t be allowed in. I like that they have a standard for clothes, I just wish I would’ve read it before traveling, but it all worked out for us. We’re considering taking our kids back as it is a family resort. Even with it being a family resort, the kids weren’t overwhelming while we were there as a couple. Perhaps it was the time of year. The only thing that makes me hesitant about taking my kids back is the timeshare hounding. I’m not a fan of sales. Maybe I can note that and they will not bother us. The next time we return. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful staff at the Dreams Vista

We just returned from a stay at Dreams Vista and were so impressed by the incredible service throughout the resort! The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and professional.

We especially want to recognize Mario and Geyler at the Bluewater Grill, who made our breakfasts such a pleasure each morning. They were truly excellent. A few other standouts were Gabriel at Mi Lucrezia and Gerry at Prime Vista -- both provided wonderful service. We were also very impressed with Victor, who seemed to be everywhere around the resort checking in with guests -- his friendliness really stood out. And Manuel from the spa team was great as well; he was friendly and helpful while sharing information about spa packages.

The staff who took care of booking excursions were also wonderful.

The food overall was great, and one of the highlights of our trip was going fishing off the resort and having the staff at the Bluewater Grill kindly cook our catch for us — it was an amazing meal and experience!

The hotel overall was good! We did not book this resort ourselves as we went for a wedding. We are unlikely to stay again. However, it was fun to check out and overall had a good time.

The rooms were good. We received regular cleaning and the beds were comfortable. There was a bit of noise some nights - the worst of it being incredibly loud wind! But mostly it was fine - I only needed earplugs a couple of nights (we were on the 15th floor and hear lower floors could be a bit noisier)

A disappointing aspect of our stay was the timeshare sales pressure. We were called early in the morning by “VIP Services” to attend a sales breakfast and had a few days where we felt like we were constantly being approached to buy something. It took away a bit from the otherwise relaxing atmosphere.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and are so grateful to all the staff who made our trip special.

Truly Unforgettable Wedding Thanks to Dreams Vista and Giselle

We hosted our wedding at Dreams Vista Cancun in September and could not have asked for a more perfect weekend! Friends and family traveled from five different states to celebrate with us, and every moment was pure magic.
We kicked off the festivities with a White-Themed Welcome Party on the Ocean View Terrace, it set the tone perfectly. The cocktail hour with a mariachi band had everyone smiling and ready to celebrate, and our reception on the Preferred Deck Infinity Pool Rooftop was a total dream—twinkle lights, ocean views, and all romantic touches.
The real star of it all? Giselle, our incredible Wedding Coordinator. She took every idea we had and made it even better than we imagined. Her attention to detail, creativity, and calm energy made the entire experience seamless.
Our guests loved everything about the resort—the pools, spa, restaurants, and especially the family-friendly activities. The staff went above and beyond, and everyone is already talking about when they can come back.
Thank you, Dreams Vista, and especially Giselle, for making our wedding unforgettable! 💕

Great dining experiences

We were 3 women on a short getaway. The entire experience was great. The service and food was very memorable. Favourite restaurants were the elevated Vista Prime Steak House for food quality and atmosphere and Blue Water Grill for preferred club on the roof. Our waiter both mornings was an amazing gentlemen named Geyler. He customized our experience and made us feel very special. Thank you from room 1502- Leiber/ Wellington group.
