A Dream week at Dreams Riviera Cancun.

Overall this is a positive review. Our family of six spent a 5 day getaway at this resort October 23-28 2025.. The weather was perfect except a two hour downpour on the last day. Skies clear. Mild breeze.

The property was clean, well laid out. It is a rather compact resort so you did not have to walk too far to get to any place. We had opted for a family suite with ocean view. Room was clean and well appointed. Rather tight. The property map handed to us looked like a scribble. Please make it user friendly with more details.

This is a family resort so we had a children's pool and an adult pool. The adult pool was quieter and more relaxing. The beach was nice. There was some sargassum washout everyday but the crew was constantly cleaning up. The negative here is that the beach did not have enough palapas and the pool area did not have enough chairs/umbrellas. However, there were plenty of cabans that sat unused because the fee was rather exhorbitant. I see a management opportuniy here.

There were plenty of bars. The pool/beach area bar service was adequate. Premium liquor was only available at the Preferred Club bar. And even then the selection was limited. However, the wine selection at restaurants was very good.

Dining experience was definitely positive. All the main restauramts had varied menu and the presentation, dishes etc was fine dining. The steaks' variety was excellent. Probably the best food I have had in Cancun after more than 10 trips here. One area of improvement could be the burger quality at Barefoot Grill.

The entertainment was more than adequate for a family resort. The pop show, urban show, fire show and circus were all excellent and cruise worthy. The singers in the main lobby were quite good.

Asides: We were on the 4th floor. The elevator closest to us was out of service. For someone like me who is 80 years old, has serious COPD and recovering from an open heart surgery it was a major challenge to climb four floors at least twice a day. Second, while researching which resort to go to, we found it frustrating that the hotel website (compared to other resorts) had very limited amount of photos.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The maid service in the room was excellent. A shoutout to the entertainmnet team at the poolside - Oliver, Hector, Jonathan, Uzzi and Edgar. A special recognition to Enrique at the Oceana-Seafood Grill complex.

All in all it was a great vacation and we plan to return next year.

Great service, speciality restaurants had some fantastic food, but the main world cafe was a let down when it came to dinner, hence we only used it the once. The main pool is a little tired and could do with a refit. On the whole we had nice relaxing holiday and I would recommend to others.

Dreams back to its best

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another Fantastic Stay – Dreams Riviera Cancun

This was our fourth stay at Dreams, and after feeling a little let down last year, I have to say — well done, Dream Team! Every issue we noticed previously has been completely turned around. That kind of improvement in just one year is truly impressive. You’ve absolutely knocked it out of the park, and once again, Dreams is the place we love coming back to for family memories.

Resort & Atmosphere
The maintenance and cleanliness are to a high standard, and the service is consistently excellent and friendly — tipping is appreciated but never expected. There’s entertainment from morning till night, with singers in the foyer lounge both early and late, creating the perfect atmosphere. The whole vibe is happy, relaxed, and full of energy.

Staff & Service
A special mention to Jonathan and David, our waiters at the pool, for their warm, attentive service, and to the entertainment team, who kept everyone smiling and active with volleyball, beach soccer, aqua Zumba, bracelet making, quizzes, and more. Endless fun for adults and kids alike.

Spa & Food
Highly recommend Samuel in the spa — his massage was perfection. Poolside food was great quality (the burgers and pizzas were favourites!), and the cocktails in the main foyer are the best — especially the Dublin Mudslide!

Tips for Future Guests
• Bring bug spray for yourself and your room, and keep balcony doors closed at night.
• Cover up in the evenings during rainy season so you can enjoy the music without the mozzies.
• Steps down from the nightclub get very slippery when it rains, so hold the handrail.

Room & Booking Experience
We booked through Travel Republic for a Preferred Club room with plunge pool but, unfortunately, arrived to find our booking had been cancelled due to a third-party issue. Thankfully, Franco at reception was outstanding — calm, helpful, and went above and beyond to help us resolve it. Dreams even gave us a discounted upgrade, which we really appreciated, especially as it wasn’t their fault.

Excursions
We did the Turtle and Cave Tour — an unforgettable experience!
• The cave swim is fascinating and beautifully guided by AK, who was knowledgeable and friendly. Just be aware it involves swimming through some dark, narrow areas, so may not suit anyone with asthma, claustrophobia, or a fear of the dark.
• The turtle swim was magical — turtles surfaced right beside us, and we also saw a stingray, lobster, and lots of colourful fish. We felt completely safe throughout.
• The photos are pricey (around $50 for one or $80–$120 for sets), but it helps to remember it supports conservation.
• A note for shy travellers: you’ll change into swimsuits on the bus and shower before entering the cave.
• The journey from Dreams is about 2.5 hours with pickups, though only around 50 minutes direct.
• Don’t forget to tip your guide and driver separately, as tips aren’t shared.

Overall
Dreams Riviera Cancun has completely restored its sparkle. The staff, entertainment, food, and atmosphere make it an easy choice for a relaxing and fun holiday. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Excellent stay, staff, food! Enjoyed our week so much!

The hotel ground and decor is very nice and well maintained. We enjoyed it’s small size that made everything so easy to get to from anywhere you were. The restaurant were great and we specially enjoyed Himitsu (sashimis were fab) and Bordeaux (filet mignon yum), but Seaside and Oceana (Tuna Tiradito was the best) were also great specially for the lunch!
The staff is really what made the experience amazing. Everyone’s so friendly and attentive. Special thanks to the amazing ladies at the Explorer’s club. Our kids 6 and 8 had a blast and loved Laura, Patricia, Cristina (Arkade) and Yazmin so much! They had fun practicing their english and teaching them french.
Jonathan and Oliver from the entertainment team did a wonderful job as well and César seems like a fantastic manager for their team.
Finally we appreciated Efren and Sheila at Coco Café, they make the best coffees and smoked salmon bagels.
The beach is not the best because of nature, the sargassum is present although the view was still super nice. It didn’t bother us.
The room has a fantastic and comfortable circular layout that was really different than other resorts we’ve stayed at.
Would highly recommend for a great family vacation! We will surely try some other Dreams property based on this first experience.

Great family holiday

Amazing holiday

The location was amazing, beautiful views and very accessible beach. Calm atmosphere around the adults pool. Many different restaurants with all kinds of food. Great for picky people. The oceanfront room was spacious and had great facilities. The entertainment team, Edgar, Jonathon, Oliver and Uzzy provided many fun activities. Blackjack in the adults pool was played a few days, it was interactive and a good laugh. Ping pong tournaments, football from the side of the pool onto a board in the pool and more. There was about two games in the adults pool a day which were good fun. The waiters around the sun loungers were very attentive. Victor and Alex were such good waiters. Everyday they were coming and refilling drinks and taking glasses away quickly. Once a day Francisco and Johnny came for massages and facials around the pool. It was so relaxing. The only downfall this resort has was the weddings. There was a minimum of one wedding a day. The weddings took up many public spaces, such as next to the pool. The resort didn’t tell us in advance before telling us we had to move for the wedding. Another wedding was right next the restaurant and we couldn’t hear each other because the music was so loud. Overalll a great experience though.

Great Fun Resort with Great Food

We had a blast during our second time at Dreams Riviera. Big thanks to Wilbert in the preferred club bar, Asussana at the Rendezvous Bar, Iracema in the World Cafe, and Diana in housekeeping who are exemplary in their work and a credit to the resort. Hope to see ye all again next time.

Western Ireland

Group tour

Wonderful group trip to Hyatt Dreams Riviera. From the arrival greeting with E. Gabriel and the concierge team, to room service, restaurant services, pool bar, snack bars etc., this hotel is as good as it gets.

Main take away for me was the friendliness of all staff, really genuine warmth and the staff really appreciate it you can speak a few words of Spanish. Mexican people are proud of the language.

So in summary, top quality food, customer service, bar service and general professionalism for everyone at the hotel.

Portofino restaurant

Delicious and resequiel was a fantastic server. Best Parmesan buns & garlic aoil I’ve ever had. Even my kids chicken fingers and pasta with butter was divine.

Wonderful time

We had a wonderful experience at the Dreams Riviera Cancún spa. Our scalp massages were done by Erika and it was amazing. So relaxing. My masseuse was Flor and she did a great job. Overall we were very happy we decided to spend the afternoon at this spa.

Amazing holiday

Excellent holiday. The place was amazing, we were lucky enough to have a front row sea view which made everything really special. Waking up to that view very morning was unreal.

There was 3 seperate pools, small kids one with big water apparatus, main kids pool where lots of activities took place and then the adults infinity pool with swim up bar which its like no pool ive ever seen - it's simply amazing.

Food choices were good, i would recommend the Grill near the beach. Breakfast was lovely, good choice and breath-taking view. Steakhouse is great for dinner - lovely steaks. Teppanyaki is a must as the food and service/show is brilliant! Mexican restaurant is a authentic restaurant.

Room service was brilliant, no faults at all and cleaned daily.

The Entertainment team and Pool concierge were fantastic. Uzzy, Edgar, Oliver Jonathon were all brilliant. They had great energy, very good English and made the activities so fun. Jony and Francisco looked after us with arranging face massages and help with sun loungers.

The waiters Alex and Victor were second to none. They were running around all day looking after not only us but lots of other people too.

Family holiday October25

Lovely hotel offering everything you could need (including a variety of water sports)…

For our family it was the spacious room, varied à la carte restaurants, delicious cocktails, phenomenal kids club and fantastic staff (particularly Mario at the seaside grill and Roberto by the pool) that made our stay.

…however, if you are wanting a quiet holiday this may not be the place for you - during our 9 day stay there were numerous weddings and parties per day, resulting in 24/7 music and noise.

A wonderful place to relax

It’s a wonderful place to relax — we really enjoyed the food and the warm hospitality.
The highlight of our stay was meeting Mr. Mauricio Valerio, the Manager of the World Café. He was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to prepare special meals for our infant several times, which she absolutely loved. We’d definitely return in the future, largely thanks to Mauricio’s outstanding service.

Excellent Service Makes Relaxing Family Trip

My family has vacationed several times at the Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort because we enjoy the family friendly vibes and excellent service we are provided.

We especially want to acknowledge Ezequiel Ruiz from the Portofino restaurant. From the moment we walked into the restaurant it was clear that he was dedicated to making our dining experience something special. Ezequiel went above and beyond in every aspect of service, truly elevating our visit to another level.

Not only did he greet us with a warm and genuine smile, but he took the time to explain the menu in detail, offering insightful recommendations based on our preferences. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and it is clear that he is passionate about the food being served and ensuring that our family had the best experience. He checked in on us at the right time and refilled drinks before we had to ask. Ezequiel's warmth and attentiveness created an atmosphere of genuine care and hospitality. Thank you Ezequiel for your exceptional service!

Additionally, we would also like to thank all of the wonderful staff such as David from El Patio, Iracema in the World Cafe, Andy and Rahul in Oceano, Aby at Seaside Grill, and Victor at poolside - your excellent service was very much appreciated and we thank you very much for making our family vacation a success.
