Good Experience...... still need to get the entire resort functioning

First visit to Mazatlan. The resort is very close to the airport, located in a small group of resorts. Approximately 30 minutes from the city. The City of Mazatlan is beautiful and well worth the trip and tour. We used a private operator and spent 7 hours seeing all the historic sites, market and had an authentic Mexican lunch.
The resort is currently undergoing renovations, which was a little disappointing, with only 4 a la carte restaurants, two were closed for dinner during our entire 7 day stay. And the buffet was also closed all week.
They are currently renovating and hopefully this situation will be rectified soon.
The staff was amazing in all restaurants and bars. A few special mentions would go to Joel and Hiram in the Meraki restaurants, Hernan our server and Issac the bartender at the Sugar Reef (Preferred Pool), Sandra made amazing eggs for breakfast, Alejandro at Desires, who always remembered our drinks and opened early for us to watch the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series.
We took advantage of the free golf and enjoyed our round, despite the heat.
If you are a beach lover, there is no seaweed and beach walks are possible but during our week, there was no swimming as the waves are constant. Beautiful sunsets with great sound for sleeping.

Our Unforgettable Family Week at Dreams – October 2025

Our family of 14 spent a wonderful week at Dreams in October 2025, and it truly became one of our most memorable vacations yet. Here are a few highlights from our stay:

Suites & Accommodations

Our suites felt truly luxurious — but the balconies were the real showstoppers. The Master Suites featured wraparound balconies with both pool and ocean views, complete with a daybed, outdoor tub, and shower. We enjoyed spending time out there every day.

Inside, the suites were elegant and spacious, with a beautiful bathroom and generous closet space. The only downside was the mini-bar, which felt a bit limited for a higher-tier room category — just one of each canned beverage, no snacks, and a coffee maker.

Resort Layout & Atmosphere

This resort has one of the best layouts we’ve experienced (and we’ve stayed at six all-inclusives so far). Everything — the rooms, pools, and restaurants — was conveniently located, so nothing ever felt too far away.

Pool & Activities

Our pool experience was excellent. The pools were clean and lively, with daily activities like aerobics, water games, and fun challenges. The lazy river and water slides were big hits with everyone in our group and became a daily ritual.

Beach

While the ocean current was too strong for swimming, we still made the most of it with beach volleyball and the baby sea turtle release, which was my absolute favorite moment of the trip.

Dining

The food was solid — better than some resorts we’ve visited, though not quite the best we’ve had. Still, there were always plenty of options, and everyone found something they enjoyed. No one ever went hungry (or got sick!), which says a lot for a large group.

Outstanding Staff & Service

What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Their warmth, attentiveness, and energy elevated our entire experience. My family even helped me pick their favorite team members to spotlight here:

Pool Deck: Esteban & Felipe

Esteban was friendly, attentive, and quick with poolside food and drink service. He made us feel genuinely cared for.

Felipe worked tirelessly behind the scenes — replacing towels, fixing umbrellas, and keeping the area spotless. Once I noticed how much he did, I couldn’t unsee how essential his role was to everyone’s comfort.

Restaurants: Sandra & Pedro Pablo

Sandra (at the omelet station) was my aunt’s favorite — cheerful, engaging, and genuinely interested in getting to know us. Her warmth made breakfast extra special.

Pedro Pablo was an amazing breakfast server who handled our large group seamlessly. He kept drinks filled, rearranged tables for us daily, and surprised us with breakfast tiramisu on our last morning — such a thoughtful farewell touch.

Activities Team: Daniel, Francisco & Gil Edward

Daniel was a standout for everyone — leading bike tours, trivia, and water aerobics while bringing nonstop enthusiasm and positive energy.

Francisco matched that energy, keeping daytime activities fun and engaging for guests of all ages.

Gil Edward was our spirited karaoke host, encouraging even the shyest singers (including our birthday girl) to join in. His kindness and humor made the night unforgettable.

Final Thoughts

Dreams gave our family a week filled with laughter, connection, and memories we’ll cherish for years to come. The resort’s thoughtful design, engaging staff, and overall vibe made it a standout among the all-inclusives we’ve visited. We can’t wait to return!
