HAPPY NEWLY WEDS
Our experience was one that I will never regret ! I was skeptical to have a destination wedding but my (now) husband was very persuasive so we went to the Iberostar Playa Mita with 18 family members and friends. From the beginning Abel, our wedding coordinator, answered every question and paid attention to details. The day of our wedding our photographer, Nahim, was phenomenal and caught all the perfect moments. Our stay was incredible the whole week with nothing but kind employees and great food, plus a sweet surprise on the wedding night! We highly recommend vacationing here, All 20 of our group are looking forward to another trip in the future!

The staff here really made the trip special. Emmanuel stood out right away with his attentive service and genuine kindness always going above and beyond- often anticipating our needs even before we asked. Vincente mixed up the best Tequila Sunrise I’ve ever had. Ana always greeted us with such a warm smile, and Stephanie worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything running perfectly.
We also had the chance to join a wine tasting with Gustavo. He was professional, friendly, and really knew his stuff — he made the whole experience enjoyable while sharing a lot of knowledge about wine and food pairing.
The spa was another highlight. Everyone there was so welcoming, and Luisa and Sheyla gave us incredible massages that left us completely relaxed.
All in all, this resort has become one of our favorite places. The beach, the food, the drinks, the staff — everything came together to make this a memorable vacation. A big thank you to the whole Playa Mita team. We’re already counting the days until January!

We just got back from nine days at Iberostar Selection Playa Mita and are already looking forward to our return in January 2026. From the very beginning everything went smoothly. Miguel was great in the days leading up to our arrival — he answered questions quickly and made sure our requests were ready for us when we arrived.The staff here really made the trip special. Service matters!
The hotel was standard Iberostar, but Kevin at Dressel Divers was SO HELPFUL for diving and making sure our Pacific experience was fantastic. You eat alot, so service at meals is critical. Isabel, Lolita, and Ramon have us service unlike we have ever had. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND seeing them while you are there!

The food was typical for an all-inclusive, but the specialty restaurants were disappointing. The steakhouse, La Bahía, was the best option, but still not great. Avoid the Japanese restaurant unless you like everything tasting overly salty.
The staff were okay, but nothing stood out as exceptional. Entertainment was very basic. On the positive side, it was easy to grab a chair by the pool, and my kids enjoyed a few activities at the kids club. The pool areas were nice, and access to the beach is excellent.
We received several courtesy calls during our stay asking how things were going. Even after mentioning concerns, nothing was resolved and no follow-up call was provided.
This was my second time returning after about 10 years, and unfortunately, I don’t believe we will be back. Two stars only because of the pool and beach access.
Disappointing Return to Iberostar Punta Mita
We stayed at Iberostar Punta Mita in August for our summer vacation and spent most of our time at the resort. Unfortunately, the property is showing its age. We paid for a suite upgrade, expecting a larger room, but it turned out to be the same size as the one we had originally booked, so don’t fall for that. The room itself was tired, and the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. Even my nine-year-old commented unprompted that the hotel looked dirty.The food was typical for an all-inclusive, but the specialty restaurants were disappointing. While the beach was not very 'deep', it was very clean and the water was great. Great views of the sunset. We also enjoyed the pools.
We spent a lot of time in the member's area and were given over-the-top service by Emanuel, Vincent, and Javier.
Christian and Juan took great care of us in the Buffet Restaurant. The surprised us with a special dessert on our last evening.
A day or two into our stay, I had a list of a few questions and requests. I went to the front desk and spoke with Emily. Within a short period of time, all of my questions and requests were fulfilled. Thank you again, Emily.

However, I cannot close my review without mentioning one negative aspect of our trip, however this does not really reflect on the resort.
Our arrival was delayed by one day because of flight issues from the U.S. As soon as I found that we would arrive one day late, I called Iberostar customer service (not the resort). I told them that our flight was cancelled and that we would be arriving one day late. I asked about our ground transportation which was arranged through Iberostar. I was told that we were out the money that we had paid for the transportation and if we wanted the transportation for when we arrived it would be another $140. In addition, customer service did not contact the resort to let them know that we would not be arriving until the next day. We wound up arranging transportation when we arrived at the airport, and it was fine. Bottom line - do not arrange transportation through Iberostar with W2M. There are several other options that are fine and much less expensive.

Very Nice Stay at Iberostar Playa Mita
My wife and I had a very nice stay at Playa Mita. The staff at the resort was top notch. The restaurants were very good, especially the Mexican and French restaurants. Even at the buffet restaurant we were treated with something special every day. We enjoyed the lounge and entertainment in the evenings. There seemed to be very few folks from the United States while we were there, but that might be more of a positive than negative aspect.While the beach was not very 'deep', it was very clean and the water was great. Great views of the sunset. We also enjoyed the pools.
