Experience needed in life

Lots of fun and rest and dance and music and most of all…food. Enjoying and not worrying about my weight. Everything I eat was exceptionally great!

Nice and relaxing just what we need a bit quiet in the night but you have a choice to use sister hotel

Epic holidays!!!

Me and my wife spent 2 weeks at the resort. What I didn't like, was murky, sea water but loads of life creatures on the beach and along the coast, lovely birds, small running crabs and little fish...so if you like nice long walks but maybe not a bath in the sea, it's perfect for you, you can do small kayaks around little island which I did and it was nice experience, some big birds living on that island so you can have a look from closer distance. For a water baths, main pool is a treat with lovely entertainment team - Maria, Maeriela and "Ni hao" guys big kisses from Sylwia and Damian.....the whole team will make sure you are having lovely time, they are working very hard and will do day time activities and will be with you around evening in lobby bar. Hotel is 13 years old but is very clean and it was lovely to see little lizards crawling around the walls, you could feel a real tropical climate. My luggage bag got damaged during flight and young boy who didn't speak any English helped me to fix it. Food is average I would say but it's plenty of it to choose from so never was hungry....and for example if you are in Luxury Bougainville Adults only, you will get all inclusive Jack Daniels drinks, La romana has only got JW red label. In general very good time, loads of fun with the entertainment team specially when it rains, you have Spanish lessons, games etc. For the money spent from TUI as whole holiday package it was spot on, everything was on time, we had 3 excursions, I do recommend Jungle Buggies and Monkey Island as one package - beautiful experience, will be long remembered. The guy from TUI, Dergvis with very good English, he's very experienced and will help you with everything. Epic holidays, would give it 9/10 - 1 point just for the colour of the sea ;)

Good but rooms need upgrades.

The best thing about the resort is the staff and entertainment team. Everyday they made me feel extra special and kept the day full of activities. I really enjoyed Marie and the gang. Only down fall is the rooms are not clean and I got bed bug bites. The bed it self was horrible as it was very noisy every time me or my husband rolled over. The room could be cleaner.

Fabulous

One day left at Bougainville we have had the most wonderful time.
We have met a lovely group of people and had such laughs aided by the wonderful entertainment teams so hats off to the fabulous marilys, Francesca , Alexi and your colleagues
Thank you guys for hours of fun and laughter you all work so hard.
Also a shout out to miss cellesse the waitress at the quiet pool who kept us supplied in drinks .
This lady walks miles around the pool and always has a smile and a joke.
The staff all work tirelessly the maids gardeners and restaurant staff and are always courteous and pleasant

Nice holiday

Second visit, hotel looking tired and need of a little TLC, food nice choice but they seem unable to keep it hot. Loved the Takara restaurant. Rooms clean. Staff are great animation work really hard. Bar and reception very helpful, some guest experience not helpful. A nice holiday

Bring lots of strong mosquito repellent!

On arrival to the room electronic keys did not open the room door. Dominga reception manager helped and brought us working keys to our dinner table. When we got bitten by mosquitos and developed an allergy, reception manager Dominga gave us good advice. The hotel has a strong focus on customer satisfaction all along our stay. Mosquito repellent is essential, make sure you bring plenty to last your whole stay!

Beautiful hotel

Fantastic holiday all the staff are fantastic they make your holiday nothing was to much all the restaurant were like going to a top notch restaurant over in the uk Men smart chinos in all restaurants

the pool bar staff Pedro and esalest were very funny and a asset to the hotel me and my family have been well travelled a lot of 5* hotels this is a very clean and special hotel .

I can not name all the staff that put themselves above and beyond there were so many we tipped all

The pool is surprisingly warm the heat is different here we all got well tanned. The pool is cleaned daily and does look very clean
For those who love there cocktails a must try a banana mamma delicious

The rooms very clean and tidy if you are like me and like a late afternoon snooze you can ask your cleaner to do your room early
Sun loungers were available all day do not panic getting a lounger
Never seen so many empty .

Mini grips the bar waitress in the reception bar at night we sat for 10 minutes they stood at the end of the bar they did see us we did not get served I got it myself in the end the bar was relatively quiet not impressed they will collect the empty glasses though.

Mosquito are rampant here we found the local spray OF
Was the best but we are in the wet season the hotel does charge a very expensive price for this $23 dollars day light robbery £12 pounds on Amazon they also own the shops in the village same price all round

We found the rooms needed more electric sockets each person will have a phone ,iPad, smart watch the beds were not that comfortable quite hard in-fact but the pros really did out weigh the cons
Would we come again 100%

Great Holiday With a Few Comical Experiences

We stayed for 12 nights in a “sea view” room. We honestly had a really good time, but with a few bits of fine tuning by the hotel it could so easily become an outstandingly excellent time and move my rating from 3 circles to 5 circles. The room was really nice, a good size, but was it worth the extra money for sea view, not really! To see the sea you had to look through a maze of palm trees and then in the distant horizon you could then glimpse the sea! The room was clean and well maintained during our stay. The pool areas were very nice and sun beds plenty full. Bar staff were awesome and very attentive, especially Delisa and Yuleysi. A small tip everyday went a long way to continual flow of drinks service at our sun beds always served with a huge smile, both these ladies are a credit to the hotel. Alexis on the entertainment team was awesome and always on the go. However, our biggest complaint was the entertainment team around the pool playing the music they personally liked. It took a lot of requests for them to have a cross mix of music to cater from young to old from many nationalities. To be an awesome entertainment team, look at your audience and play to them, not your own music preferences. The music and continual same same same music, unless it had a guitar, trumpet and bongos they didn’t play it. After several complaints to the entertainment supervisor Ana from us and many more people, she did then get the team to switch the music to have a much more varied content and styles. It got people dancing and singing, say no more, please learn from this entertainment team and then you will be an amazing crew and a credit to the hotel. Restaurants yielded some comical experiences. The food was excellent, we enjoyed The Italian, The Gourmet, The Brazilian, The Asian and also the buffet, All were brilliant from a food quality and choice perspective. The comical value was sometimes it was like being at Faulty Towers (UK people will understand, other nationalities please Google Faulty Towers to understand!). In the Asian they bought our appetisers before serving the mousse bouche Sushi. We questioned this to be told we’d had it, which we hadn’t! The waiter then bought over the Sushi so we had 2 dishes on the table. Whilst we were making our way through the 2 courses on the table the waiter arrived with our main courses! He stood at the side of the table waiting with our main courses on his arms whilst we finished the sushi and our appetiser. It put us off the main to be honest which was a shame as the food was lovely. In the Brazilian for our 1st reservation we booked a very late sitting and it felt like they were running out of meat so choice of cut was limited, and what was served was a little over cooked, dry. We returned on another night booking at circa 8pm and the experience was totally different, the meat was plenty full, choice plenty full and cooked to perfection, a completely different experience, top tips, don’t book the last sitting! We really enjoyed the Italian, it was our personal favourite, but one man’s meat is another man’s poison so other may or may not like it. The Gourmet, here was the single most comical Faulty Towers moment… It was our 34th wedding anniversary so we booked Gourmet to enjoy the celebration. We ordered our choices. appetisers took 40 minutes to arrive. Whilst we were not in a rush, it was a little bit of a long to wait and a lot of tables were complaining about wait times. Then the fun started, the main courses arrived under the silver domed cloche. The waiters proudly lifted the cloche with a chorus of “Ta Dar” to reveal our main courses. Sadly my wife’s salmon main course she had ordered arrived as the prawn & crab appetiser under the cloche! We told the waiter she had not ordered that and had ordered the salmon. He took it away to replace it and arrived 2 minutes later with exactly the same thing, prawn & crab appetiser! Again we highlighted it should be a salmon! The head waiter / supervisor got involved and he was really a disaster creating more confusion than solution. They left my meal in front of me whilst saying the salmon would come immediately… 10 minutes later my meal (lamb) was still sat in front of me, now freezing cold and my wife’s salmon had still not arrived. At this point, the waiter Omar stepped in, took my meal away, organised my wife’s salmon and returned both meals at the same time nice and hot and taste was delicious. Omar was awesome, in my opinion he was so much more capable than the supervisor, a credit to the hotel and rescued our night, thank you Omar! Overall we really did love the place. We had a great time and met some wonderful people who will all now be friends for life. Would we return, hell yes! Hopefully with some very small fine tuning by the hotel with attention to detail, we could go to 5 full circles on the next Trip Advisor Rating. We thoroughly enjoyed the adults only aspect. Top tips, check in online 10 days in advance and immediately start booking your restaurants on the hotels App. Leaving restaurant bookings until arrival will result in very limited availability.

Spa... Fantastic deal and great service

Sauna + Jacuzzi + Exfoliating + Massage for $94.... Can't beat that!

During our stay at Bahia Principe Bouganville Resort in the Dominican Republic, we had an exceptional experience at the spa. Mayelin and Mercedes provided an outstanding exfoliating treatment and relaxing massage. Their professionalism, warm personalities, and attention to detail made the experience truly special. We left feeling completely renewed and cared for — a highlight of our stay!

Two weeks of joy

Just got back from a two week holiday had a wonderful time at the hotel. All the staff are amazing from cleaners to waiters to servers to chefs to animation team to lobby staff all so helpful polite and friendly. Big shout out to Pedro in pool bar who kept us all well watered with drinks. Met some amazing people and laughed non stop. Ignore reviews about staff not being friendly if you cannot speak Spanish or food not up to standard all rubbish. Always able to get a sun bed by any of the 3 pools or on the beach so no sun bed wars which was great. Having drinks brought to by the pool or on the beach lovely as to in the main hotel bar. Enjoyed the gourmet restaurants. Would recommend

Best anniversary gift

Had a great experience, very clean very fun and peaceful, We had a young man by the name of Wander and a young lady named Kacteline that helped us with the activities and dinner options. Overall 10/10

Nice but not great. Can’t swim in ocean

This resort is a solid 4/5. It always depends what you’re looking for as everyone is different.

The entertainment crew is AMAZING, specifically Marielys (our favorite) Alexis, Boobaloo, Jose and Maria were all fantastic. Getting us involved in all the games and activities but not putting too much pressure, even me at 6 months pregnant they would help me modify to be involved. The energy this crew brings to the resort is unlike any other. They truly felt like our friends.

The rooms are clean and well kept for our standards. The AC got coool enough. The large fluffy bath towels were incredible and a true king sized bed. We did find a cockroach in our room one night (ground floor so not too surprised) and the shower takes a few minutes before it gets hot. The beds are a little on the firm side but not too bad.

The “loud pool” is where we spent most of our time and the water gets quite warm, borderline un enjoyable lot hot by the afternoon. Unfortunately the beach is mostly unusable. You can walk up and down and sit in chairs but there were multiple jellyfish stings during our stay, Plus also lots of seaweed and the water smelled bad from it. Although there were some people swimming, we didn’t risk it. There were also sand fleas that left you with itchy bites and little crabs which ran up and down the beach (which we actually thought were really cute). There was never any trouble getting chairs at the pool or beach, even in shade which was a nice change.
There is people smoking in lots of places which I hate but do expect it on vacation.

The resort felt super safe. It’s well within a gated secured community with guards manning the front gate. There were no people trying to sell us anything on the beach at all since it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere and not along a bit strips of resorts like we’ve been to in the past.
They do seem to have some power problems. The power turned off (for about 10-30 seconds each time) probably about 10 or so times during our 6 night stay. It comes back on quickly and there was emergency lighting so it didn’t bother us too much.
They had brand names for pop (coke and 7up) and lots of brand name liquors which was nice. The food was quite good. We are somewhat picky and could always manage to find something to eat. The Mediterranean restaurant is 99% seafood so I’d avoid that if you don’t like seafood. The Italian was our favorite and the steakhouse was also very good (it’s outside so was quite warm)

All in all we had a great stay at this small, hidden resort.

Amazing place to vacation

Beautiful, clean resort! The entertainment team went above and beyond! Always something to do, always entertained! Food was delicious all around. Good drinks! We will definitely be back!
