Displeased

I will never stay here or any other planet Hollywood locations. Too noisy, alarms went off during our stay, and no private areas around the resort for only adults. Staff did not try and accommodate me or my fiancé after our complaints. Checked out early due to the experience. Left contact information for a manager to reach out, did not hear anything back as I expected. We enjoyed the rest of our stay over at Secrets. Super nice experience.

A Wonderful Family Experience in Paradise!

Planet Hollywood was the perfect all-inclusive resort for our family getaway. We stayed in the Director’s Suite with Star Class, and our personal agent, Yeilyn Morales, was absolutely amazing. She kept us informed about all the fun activities happening around the resort, handled every reservation with care, and made our anniversary feel extra special. The food and drinks were excellent at every restaurant, and the service throughout was top-notch.

The beach had beautiful dark volcanic sand and the surrounding area was lush and green — such a unique and stunning place to relax and enjoy nature. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We had an amazing time exploring Costa Rica with Gabriel from nomadtourscr. He made everything so easy... he sent us all the tour information in advance, helped us choose what suited us best, and coordinated everything perfectly. Their prices were very reasonable, and the service was excellent from start to finish.

Our guide Ronald was outstanding! He shared so much about the local culture, food, and history, We did a private boat tour...Palo Verde National Park and a rainforest adventure where we spotted wildlife from both dry and tropical forests — it was truly unforgettable.

They also arranged our airport transfers, which made our trip super smooth.
Highly recommend Nomad and planet hollywood costarica anyone visiting Papagayo peninsula!!

Beautiful country.. not our cup of tea.

The scenery was amazing !!! Very hilly and definitely not something your going to jog back and forth.. unless your a CrossFit runner !! The good things we enjoyed first: The views were spectacular !! The personal assistant we had..Jose.. was awesome !! Very knowledgeable and helpful.. Milliam was also very knowledgeable and we talked several times about the country in general. We loved Guy’s burger joint and the sports bar had good food too.. The star class pool was nice .There is a bar just for those there and pool service was great .. also a food truck just for star class at the pool.. delicious snacks and burgers.. The chairs around the pool were not very comfortable .. the ones around the main pool were better.. There is a section by the main pool also just for star class people.. our experience was there was no waitstaff for drinks there… Now the bad( to us) The general attitude of the staff was good but very few went out of their way to greet you and make conversation.. The food at most of the restaurants was not impressive.. the hibachi was excellent but poor steak at the steakhouse (very rare to actually raw) even after sending it back.. the main buffet was just ok.. way better at the resort we stay at in the Dominican Republic.. the drinks were good but there were so many people at the main pools you had to wait 10-15 minutes to get served.. and that was every day all day after they opened.. There were TONS of kids at the main pools also.. they literally bussed some in from the surrounding areas.. We like kids and generally have no issues but from 7am to 7pm all we could hear were screaming yelling kids..at the main pools.. We learned that this time of year is off season for tourists so the resort was booked mostly by local residents..I brought some fishing tackle and had fun trying to catch some fish.. I did manage to get a couple fish from shore..The entertainment staff did a great job and it was fun to watch. We really liked the Fire Show. All in all we will definitely come back to visit the country but we will likely stay at an adults only resort. It was fun and we had a nice time but just to many small things will keep us away from Planet Hollywood..

Best Honeymoon Vacation Ever!

We had the absolute best time at this All-Inclusive Planet Hollywood! Top-notch service, accommodations, and restaurant choices. The highlight of our stay was the outstanding service we received from our Star Class Butler, Henry! He arranged our excursions to Coco Beach with an excellent driver, Mason, recommended and arranged most of our dining experiences, checked in with us regularly, and even helped us change our return flight at the last minute. Henry and the team took such great care of us that we didn’t have to stress over anything. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely Fabulous Resort!!!!

This resort is absolutely fabulous!! I truly have never been to a more beautiful and comfortable resort. The rooms were beautiful, bed was super comfy and the view was amazing.

The food was delicious at the buffet and at the restaurants. The drinks were very good and star class has access to a top shelf liquor bar with a private pool.

Lastly, Henry, our butler for our star class stay, was seriously the best. He took care of all our reservations, welcomed us to our room and set up a beautiful birthday surprise for my girlfriend. Anything and everything we needed was taken care of. I highly recommend doing Star Class and requesting Henry as your butler.

Excellent Service

Randall Piña and Daylin Parayeles were amazing! My wife and I went to Planet Hollywood for our honeymoon and Randall did a special sand painting on our dinner table. It was an excellent idea and made us feel special! Would definitely recommend coming back to this resort

Family Fall Break Filled with Adventures

Our family of four had a great time at this resort. The resort is on the smaller side which we enjoyed rather than a larger facility. The service was top notch all around. Several staff members made our stay memorable- Marvin our personal agent took care of our restaurant reservations, spa appointment, and any other little thing we asked for, Yeraly and Dauwson at the Star Class pool kept the drinks and snacks coming all day long, Marilyn, Greddy, & Hillary at the Blue Star restaurant served breakfast with a smile every day, and Dilan at the Hibachi grill was amazing with both his entertaining cooking and the delicious food. The resort is beautiful and the people there make it amazing. Thank you for a wonderful week for our family vacation!

Wonderful vacation

Let’s begin with the walk down the purple carpet!!! We were greeted by our butler, Henry. Henry was attentive, efficient and very friendly. Our week was filled with great service from every staff member. I would highly recommend and I will visit again. We may make this our annual vacation

Amazing Property

We are still here but are having the best time. The service here is phenomenal. We are in Star Class and in my opinion it's worth it. Our butler is Antonio and he is great. He handles reservations and everything for you! So many great staff at Star Class pool. Look for Yeraly in a purple shirt! He will take care of anything you need! This is a beautiful property and the shuttle service is great. Nice rooms and great hydrotherapy at the Spa. Cool specialty restaurants.Only thing we have found very different for us was food but we are from Maine in the US so that is subjective. Drinks are great and I'm obsessed with the black sand beach and monkeys! Hoping to definitely come back again soon!

Nightmare

This was by far the worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed at and I stay at over 75 resorts per year. The staff was fantastic and not at all their fault. I’ve worked at hotels for many years so wanted to try and fix this place but not even sure if it’s possible. From checking in to some of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen to the room service, if it came took at least 2 hours for awful food. It took me about an hour to get one of the guy burgers they made. Food was not good. Just a real bad time unfortunately. I also don’t drink and believe maybe drinking could’ve helped but oh man, this was bad. One of the best experiences was renting a jet ski from one of the locals on the beach (not the hotel). I never leave a bad review but I feel like I wouldn’t do the next person justice if they chose this place. It was such a bad experience, that I cancelled the Westin all-inclusive I was going to just because I wasn’t sure just was an all-inclusive thing or what. I highly recommend anyone coming here to inland and get an Airbnb or truly do anything else. The fact that this resort is autograph collection is mind blowing. The rooms were very nice, the shuttle system and staff were very nice, but unfortunately that’s it. I met a group staying there for 10 days and oh my God, I felt like 3 days was a lifetime.

Don’t Waste Your Money

If you’re thinking about staying here, save yourself the disappointment. This place looks flashy online but falls apart fast once you arrive.

There are only five restaurants total. The hibachi and steakhouse are the only decent options — everything else is borderline inedible. We’re talking food that’s not even mediocre… just bad.

Drinks? Basically fruit juice. I don’t think I’ve ever had cocktails with so little alcohol in them. You’re better off buying a bottle yourself if you actually want to feel like you’re on vacation.

Tipping doesn’t help either. Staff don’t seem to care whether you tip or not — service stays painfully slow, and you’ll still find yourself waiting in endless lines for drinks or fighting kids for seats at the swim-up bar.

Entertainment? There’s a nightly “show” at 8pm, but honestly, it’s laughably bad — more comedy than talent. After that, there’s only one bar open, and it’s karaoke every single night. That’s the entire nightlife.

Want to leave the resort? Good luck. Everything worth doing is at least 40 minutes away, and transportation is practically nonexistent. If you somehow find a driver, expect to pay around $200 USD just to get anywhere and back.

By the end of my trip, I was honestly wondering what I paid for — bad food, drinks with no liquor, awkward performances, and sitting bored in my room by 9pm.

Planet Hollywood Costa Rica is all hype, no substance. Go literally anywhere else — you’ll get better food, real drinks, and an actual vacation experience.

Can’t wait to visit again! Nice adventures activities!!

We had such a wonderful time during our stay. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained, everything feels spotless and inviting. The food was delicious, and the staff always greeted us with a smile. The entertainment by the pool was so much fun — we had a great time joining the activities with our family. Overall, an amazing experience.

We had such an incredible experience exploring Costa Rica! Our group of six visited La Leona Waterfall, the rainforest where we saw sloths, the Diamante Adventure Park, and also went on an exciting ATV ride. Every activity was well organized, and everything went perfectly from start to finish. Gabriel from nomadtourscr made the whole process easy and enjoyable — always friendly and attentive. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica! we’re already looking forward to coming back!

Exceptional service, but inconsistent drinks and salty food.

The food was salty and the drinks were inconsistent.

The app would say there were no reservations available, but we could walk in and get a table.

Everyone was friendly. Service was great. Our butler yeilyn was amazing!! Alfonso at the Lobby bar was amazing!! Christian at PH experiences was amazing!!

Best Personal Assistant

I had a Star Class room, and had Antonio as my personal assistant. He was AMAZING! Hands down, the best. He went above and beyond, and always made sure I was updated, and checked in regularly. He really made our experience great. If you do get this room, ask for Anto, and you will not be disappointed. The hotel was good, and the food was decent. All in all, a great experience.
