Rude and undertrained receptionists

We came to Divi Aruba for one evening to check out the nightclub and grab dinner—but the experience was incredibly uncomfortable. As an all-inclusive resort, there are no prices on the menus, and the front desk didn’t disclose that how much you need to preload a nonrefundable prepaid card to pay. We were told we could add any amount, but weren’t informed that some restaurants have spending minimums. When we finally sat at one of the restaurants, we raised concerns, the receptionist came back and argued with us at the table instead of helping. It was tense, uncomfortable, and completely unprofessional. The food and drinks were mediocre at best. Avoid this place at all costs. Thanking the manager who tried to solve the issue.

Wonderful stay

As a family, we had the most wonderful stay at Divi. The location, is exceptional, on one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, Eagle beach, just steps away from your room. The food was to a really high standard throughout and the service to match. Highest praise to Jasorick in the Pelican Terrace, Michael in Pure Lime and Nathan in Paparazzi. Shout out to Zef and Donny who led the E-bike and snorkelling tour so well, with enthusiasm and knowledge, a tour which we would highly recommend. We stayed in a newly refurbished central pool view room, which had everything we needed and was most comfortable. Overall we had a truly enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to return.

Relaxing Beach Vacation

I read quite a few really negative reviews before our trip to the Divi All Inclusive so was a bit worried. Our trip was better than expected and overall was a really good vacation.

Pros - Beach was awesome although water was rougher than expected. Divi side much better than Tamarind side if beach is what you are looking for although only 5 to 10 minute walk from each other. White sand for miles as can turn the corner down main Eagle Beach, great beach for a long walk. There were plenty of palapas on the beach but people start reserving them early. Most workers including front desk, housekeeping, trolley drivers, waiters and waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Most bartenders were good too but a few were not. Coffee Cafe was nice and a good option to grab a pastry for breakfast too. Pizza and burger huts a nice lunch option just wish they offered more food choices. Rooms were clean and done over nicely for the most part and AC worked great. Most buildings steps away from the beach with good views. Water stations all over the resort were a nice feature. The app worked great for reservations although we were not able to get reservations to the Italian restaurant even though we booked two days in advance each day. The Mexican and Asian restaurants were our favorites and the Red Parrot was good too. We did each twice. Club Margot was different so I would recommend trying it once for a unique dining experience. Being able to take the shuttle or walk back and forth between Divi and Tamarind was really a positive as not sure it would have been 4 stars if not able to use all the others amenities each offered. Casino across the street, 5 minute walk was a bonus for something different to do at night. Music every night around the pool was nice, some performers better than others. Weather was perfect, nice breeze at night so never felt hot even if eating outdoors. Liked the buzzer system at the buffet and the juice bar was good. Gym was everything you need with good hours and ocean view. Island was very safe to go downtown, take a tour, or just go for a walk off the resort to explore the island.

Cons - breakfast and lunch buffet got old after a few days, almost the exact same offerings every day. Tried to book the Free E bike tour first full day there but they were already booked for the week so that was unfortunate. There were many pools but they were all small and none of them had any shade areas in the water for those who get too much sun and need a retreat. Bars seemed short staffed multiple nights. Entertainment was pretty tame compared to other resorts if that is your thing so just note although it was fine for us.

Overall, if you want a great beach and have a chance to visit Aruba at a decent price for an all inclusive on the island, this may be a great option for you. Yes parts of the resort are a little outdated but it is kept clean, plenty of offerings, and maintained well enough. It is not a 5 star luxury resort but very adequate for a relaxing enjoyable vacation at a decent price to visit Aruba.

Girls Trip 2025 - Had A Blast

Love this resort. Our travel agent picked it for us and she made the right choice. Food was delicious. They had great entertainment. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We had beachside rooms!! When we sat on Patio we actually had garden and beach view. The room was nice. The beds for very comfortable. I hated the pillows. They were very hard. They have a sister resort right next door we had dinner there 2 nights. But the beach area is better at the Divi. Casino was a 3 minute walk. I highly recommend!!

Sightseeing Tour

My wife and I went in the sightseeing bike tour with our guides Calvin, Nicky and the driver. They made the trip so enjoyable. The E-Bikes made the 12 mile trip feel so much shorter. We were able to tour the lighthouse and then they took us to many other sights on the way home. We so recommend going on this trip. Thank you for a great time.

Terrific from the word « Go! »

The Divi All-Inclusive Resort was just terrific from the word « go! ». Nelson, one of the hosts at the door, always greeted us with a smile, whether we were coming or going. Our room was quiet, as requested, and the decor was beautiful and soothing, yet very comfortable. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast spread each morning at the Pelican Terrace. The service there was great! Everyone was so very friendly and helpful, especially Jasorick « Rick », and Santa Rosa; both were just always so kind. Most mornings and afternoons found us at one pool or another. They were all so pretty, with very comfortable lounge chairs all around, and shaded areas as well. We noticed how well the pools and grounds were kept each morning and night; staff were always working to make things nice and keep things tidy and also preparing for the next day. We indulged in a couple’s massage at the Indulgence by the Sea Spa. It was so relaxing, and everyone there was so professional, and yet, so courteous and kind. At dinnertime, we thoroughly enjoyed trying a new restaurant each night, between the Divi and Tamarin. Every restaurant had its own theme, and every meal we had was just great. Each night, after dinner, we enjoyed walking along the shore as the sun set, and catching that on video as the day ended. We are already planning a return visit next year!

Nice resort, some staff's attitude was unpleasant.

The resort is nice and definitely delivers the Aruba feel. Food on the resort was good, pizza bar was nice addition. Be prepared for 2 hours dinners. Very slow service. Many of the staff appeared to be "bothered" at times when speaking with them. One bartenders hospitality was so bad I made a complaint to the manager " head bartender." I believe they took my complaint seriously as I did not see that bartender for rest of trip. Overall nice resort but not sure I would return. There are probably better options.

Filthy room but decent food and staff!

We stayed at the Divi in May and the room was dirty, couches were dirty with stains, towel holder in the bathroom kept falling down, no conditioner and shampoo were filled (despite leaving a $10 tip for the maid everyday) and most importantly mold all in the shower. The food was delicious and the people were nice but we wouldn’t stay there again.
(I can only leave 1 picture per post so I’m posting the mold in the corners of the shower)

E-bike and snorkel at the Divi!

We enjoyed a fabulous 30th wedding anniversary at the Divi All Inclusive in Aruba this past week. It was our first time in Aruba, and we loved the beaches, facilities, pools, and rooms at the Divi. We enjoyed a mix of good eats and drinks at the various à la carte restaurants and bars at the Divi and Tamarin. We especially enjoyed Club Margot and its tapas style food and the spectacular view and sounds of the ocean.

We had a blast on the E-bike and snorkeling tour that departed from the Tamarin. It took us a couple of days to get signed up and figure out the schedule, but we were so glad that we did. We e-biked for about 6 miles, got geared up and snorkeled for about 45 minutes (with a wide array of beautiful fish and the sea turtles), had lunch, and biked 6 miles back to the Tamarin. Our guides, Zef and Donny were fabulous. They had a great sense of humor, were very knowledgeable, and keep us on track and safe. They even made a special stop to grab a cake and sparkler at another Divi priest to wish one of the women on our trip a happy birthday!

The beaches were spectacular and we enjoyed swimming in the ocean and the pools daily. There are plenty of options for drinks and snacks nearby at multiple bars and a couple of buffets.

We rented a car from the Hertz desk at the Divi. They offer 24 hour rentals and the prices for a small car were reasonable. We were able to travel up to the California lighthouse along the northwestern tip and down to the southeastern tip, enjoying the murals of San Nicolas, and the beautiful Baby Beach.

If you speak English or Spanish, you will be able to converse with people across the island very easily.

We were grateful for the fresh and safe tap water from a water desalination plant that provides fresh water for the whole island. We’ve done a fair amount of international travel, and it was great not to have to worry about water bugs!

We would love to return to Aruba again in the future. We might try something other than an all-inclusive to save on some costs, especially if we bring our entire family and need more space. But we would not hesitate to come back to the Divi either.

Good food and beautiful setting, disappointing service.

Positives:

Food was fresh and consistently good, even if the variety wasn’t huge.

Resort grounds were beautiful and well maintained.

A few staff provided standout service: Santa Rosa at the buffet, and Anthony and Doris at the à la carte restaurants.

Negatives:

Overall service was slow, especially at the lobby bar, and staff often felt unwelcoming.

Room issue (water interruption) was handled poorly, with delayed responses.

Front desk was inconsistent: Reginald was excellent, but most staff seemed unsure of processes. Calls to the desk sometimes went unanswered.

Entertainment options were very limited for an all-inclusive.

Overall:
The resort has a beautiful setting and solid food, but service and responsiveness left a lot to be desired. A stay here can be enjoyable if your main focus is the property and meals, but don’t expect attentive service or robust entertainment.

Divi & Tamarijn Resort

(Photos upon request) Recent visit to Aruba's Divi & Tamarijn Resort. This rating of 3 out 5 stars could have been easily higher, if only the issues were observed and corrected by the Resort management team.

First, I will say that the food at the Divi Resort was excellent. Also, it wasn't your usual all- inclusive experience where food is in a buffet style with people picking, reaching, sneezing, and everything else over the food. No, quite the contrary. The many food choice dining halls were managed by ready to prepare your order by professionally dressed and warm and friendly cooks and chefs. Anything from steak, hamburgers to turkey, pizza, vegan, shrimp, anything you would have wanted was behind the counter, ready to be prepared, which made it all a great experience from a dining perspective.

Tamarijn Resort ( great restaurants)

Beautiful private beach, white sand, crystal waters. It is common to witness non- Resort guests attempt to use Divi' beachfront and chairs. The security very stealthily asked them to leave to the public access beaches.

NOTICEABLE BEACH ISSUE(S): Divi Resort management should clear the sands (Daily) of items/trash discarded by guests. Gentle raking of the sands will readily beautify this location. Please note, for a 7-Day stay, ripped floating devices, other debris as well as bird dropping stained beach chairs remained our entire stay.

Beach Towels Station:

Depending on who's sitting at the station, will they ask you your room number? We were asked twice in 7 days. So maybe it doesn't matter if you return them. We did.

Pool Side Bars:

Do not be surprised to see Smokers firing up cigarettes or cigars.

ABSOLUTELY Straw free zone. Piña Colada's and all frosty tropical cocktails must be consumed, lips to plastic cups.

Bar Food: Great burgers, pizza and dressed glizzy's to order.

Local Beer: Yum

POOLS: Nice, family setting. Kids may cannonball or two. Nothing serious. There are no poolside NOR Beachside waiters. Guests must bring drinks from the bar to the pools or beach.

COFFEE BAR: 6AM to Noon- Two young ladies manages orders, non stop -like pros. Great coffee choices hot/cold. Pastries. Please TIP them.

GIFT SHOP: Not located on Divi Resort. We cross the road to Golf Resort, as usual the toiletries are expensive, everything is imported on this 20 by 8 mile long island. If you want a bag, Bags are $.85.

Below, In-Room Amenities: As outlined on Divi Resorts web page. Our feedback is below:

Spacious patio or balcony: Agree

Gourmet Nespresso coffee machine:
Coffee pods were older. Lable on machine was- 'MixEspresso'.

Plush linens and pillows:

Pillows had slight smoke smell. Sheets were clean, yet, older, possibly due to many washes, the sheets are clean yet could be whiter, brighter.  There were four sheets, one of which was a duvet used as a sheet. The decorative blue velvet pillows and bed cover should be washed before the next guest. Not just placed back on clean sheets

Towels:
THIS IS THE MOST DISAPPOINTING PART OF THE STAY. (PHOTOS UPON REQUEST). The Towels were all very worn, holes, threaded, many, many labels on the towels, very used towels.

Mini refrigerator for personal use:
Good condition

Clothes steamer:
Available

Daily housekeeping service:
Need to clean mirrors, and sanitizer and refresh mops. The mopping leaves slight odor.

Aruba Aloe bath and hair products:
Attached containers on wall in shower. No labels. Unable to read product ingredients. Use cautiously.

Air conditioning:
Over the beds. A second loud Dehumidifier goes off intermittently all day and night.

55” Smart TV with Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime video access:
There were only Three channels available with poor reception. We had to Auto- program the Air/Cable DVTV daily, 16 additional channels and better channels was the result. *Divi Resort management should address this.

In-room digital safe:
Available

Free Wi-Fi:
Available

Telephone:
Sound quality was challenging

Bedside USB charging stations:
Available

Fully stocked mini bar:
There wasn't a mini bar.

Closets:
Sliding doors. Lighted. Shelves were covered in dust. Had to clean prior to placing clothes.

Deceptive Practices. Beware if traveling in Sept/Oct 25

I wanna start out by saying that this past visit which I just got back from today is the third time I've stayed at this Divi resort in the last 15 years. I have never had a major issue with this property and in fact, my previous two visits went so well. I wanted to book with them again.
BIG MISTAKE. if you plan on traveling within the next few months, please note and understand that there is massive construction going on on both properties the divi and the tamarin and the hotel looks nothing like the resort it claims to be on their website . very deceptive in luring you to book a room there with not even a mention of all of the construction that is going on. in my opinion for a hotel/resort that charges upwards of $700 a night at times this is unacceptable. I have outlined the additional issues below along with the very few pros that they had so you can make your own decision, but as a previous customer, I would not go back unless they changed a lot of of things.
Check In: At the time of check in after giving us our bracelet with room keys and completing the whole process the employee told us "we know you booked an ocean view room with a king size bed but we have no king-size beds available so we gave you two queens instead."
this was issue number one. Why wait till the end to tell me that the room I paid for with the type of bed I paid for is not available. We then had to wait around for an additional half an hour and demand to get the room that I paid for.
The Room: after finally giving us a room, we enter the room only to find out "ocean view" that we paid for is completely obstructed by construction of other "casitas" that are being built directly in front of our building in front of the ocean. we checked in on a Saturday and construction was going on morning noon into the evening every single day of the week. This was not something that we were spared of during the weekends. when I went back to the front desk to ask for a different room yet again I was told I would be placed on a waitlist and they would call me as soon as another room was available. We checked out six days later and no phone call ever came.

The restaurants: My recollection of the last two times we went was that the restaurants all had a very good variety on their menus. This was not the case this time around. We visited the red parrot, lime, the buffet and club Margot over at the tamarin and all of the restaurants had very limited options on their menus with the exception of the buffet and we only went there for breakfast. We ended up going into Oranjestad to eat dinner at least two nights out of the five that we were there.. Buffet for breakfast was very good. staff was very attentive and selection was good. i can't say the same about the other places. The quality of dood at all of the other olaces was not great.

The Beach: The best part of the trip. Beach was beautiful and I never had an issue finding a spot with shade no matter what time i went down. Only issue again, was the construction going on which at times made it very noisy but we just focused on the view and eventually the noise just got drowned out.

I would call ahead if planning a trip to see if construction has ended.

Enjoyable vacation - some room for improvement.

We recently stayed at this resort and had a mostly enjoyable experience, though there were a few downsides worth noting.

Pros:

Beach Access: The beach was stunning and easily accessible—a definite highlight of our stay.

Restaurants: The à la carte restaurants were excellent. Make sure to book Club Margot, Red Parrot and Paparazzi. They all have an excellent selection of craft & specialty cocktails - much better than the drinks offered poolside.

Drinks: The drinks were good, particularly if you specifically request top-shelf alcohol. Otherwise, you will get lower-tier options by default. Definite difference noted.

Staff: The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Bar service noticeably improved with additional tipping.

Shuttle Service: The shuttle between resorts was convenient and ran smoothly, making it easy to explore different areas of the resort.

Cons:

Housekeeping: Unfortunately, housekeeping was minimal. Had to repeatedly ask for extra TP and kleenex. On arrival we noted our floor was soaked due to the dehumidifier leaking. We used the towels provided for our 1st day, to soak up the water and prevent falls—housekeeping left them laying there for the entire week.

Buffet: The buffet was just okay—around a 6/10. The food selection was repetitive, with very little variation from day to day. Need more tables inside.

Beer Options: Draft beer was often warm and not enjoyable. Bottled beer was available, but only at an additional charge, which felt unnecessary at an all-inclusive resort.

Amenities: There were no gift shops on the Divi side, which was inconvenient for grabbing essentials or souvenirs.

Construction Noise: Daytime construction near the main pool made it hard to fully relax.

Summary:
The resort has many strong points—especially the beach, food (if reserved), and friendly staff—but a few service and facility issues held it back from being a truly great stay. LOTS of construction happening all around the resort, especially the Divi side.

Room booking

Out fifth visit to the Divi and every year whatever room we requested and booked is not the room we are given at check in ! Each and every time we are told they are booked to capacity but walking around the resort you can tell that’s not true ! Even if they were filled to capacity we should be given the room we booked and paid for months prior to our arrival
